I've got my 2nd x 5mg pen to start next week (so will get 5 x doses out of it with the 'magic' dose), but need to order a new pen in 2 weeks' time (pay day!) and am not sure what to order. Will see how the next 2 weeks goes. I'll have done 10 x weeks on 5mg in total, so feel like it must be time to move up - but I'm losing at a steady 2lbs a week-ish, and still have v high suppression for the first 3 days or so, so maybe should get a 3rd x 5mg pen. Will make a decision on pay day!

I was thinking this morning I could always order a 7.5mg pen and count the clicks to do less - but (a) my maths isn't wonderful and (b) my click-counting-patience might not be great, so possibly not a good idea for me... 🙄

Is it sad that I woke up at 5am today and the first thought I had was HURRAH - I CAN FILL IN THE MJ SPREADSHEET! Didn't get time yesterday, but have a free couple of hours now 😁

@InfoSecInTheCity @Loveachoc
I have come off my other diabetes medication completely, my last HBa1C was 36. I stopped taking my other meds within the first couple of weeks on MJ as I was getting very low. Docs are very happy with where I'm at but think that I will probably be on some sort of dose for the rest of my life, which I'm not sure about at the moment. We shall see what happens I guess.

I'm actually ok with the idea of being on low dose of MJ indefinitely. I suspect within the next couple of months I'll titrate down to 5mg or 2.5mg and then stay on that for a while.

NSV! Have ordered a few bits of new (to me!) clothes from Vinted, as my size 26-28 tops and size 24 bottoms are definitely getting too baggy.

Collected my first parcel today and have got a beautiful size 22 M&S skirt and it's soooooo comfortable - bordering on slightly too big 😀

Also got a size 22 - 24 fleece (from Yours, which I know size up massively) and it's also lovely and comfy and bordering on too big.

Am insanely happy - keep thinking that in 6 months' time all my current clothes will have gone and I might be in the 'teens' 😮😬

Ditsy79 · 11/03/2025 07:45

@Thisshirtisonfire I have still been losing weight on the 2nd pen of 2.5mg, but it's a lot slower - I don't know if that would be the same if I had gone up to 5mg though. The side effects I initially got have settled (vomiting and dizziness) and I feel that I am ready to move up to 5mg now. Suppression is wearing off after about 3 to 4 days, but I'm managing to keep on track calories-wise with myfitnesspal. I did my last 2.5mg jab this morning (although I actually managed to get 3.75mg using a syringe). Fingers crossed that I continue to lose this week - I've got such a long way to go. Good luck with your MJ journey - what week are you on?

I'm just coming up to the end of week 1! I've already lost 7lbs!! Which i know must be water weight but it's encouraging.
The side effects were horrific for the first day or so after the evening I injected. But they have settled down mostly now. I get vague nausea but it's manageable.
We will see how the second injection effects me.

RobinEllacotStrike · 11/03/2025 10:45

@EternalFatalist the people I know who have made direct (though kind) comments about weightloss have also been men.

Women say "you're looking very well".

@MooBaggage I've ditched some of the bigger sizes completely but clothing I am currently wearing range from size 16 to 22, M to XXL. Bigger sizes are still accommodating my bust. I'm trying very hard to refrain from buying too many new clothes. New purchases are a 16 on bottom (moving towards 14) and 18 on top (I have large boobs). I purchased a new pair of jeans in a 16 around Xmas, and I might buy the same in a 14 now. they are just cheap ones from Tu but I love the style & fit. Buying a size 14 is entering a whole new universe.

gimmemounjaro · 11/03/2025 11:37

Ugh I've said before on a thread somewhere, I hate "you're looking well". We both know what you mean, just say it!

Female colleague last week: "you're looking well" with sideways meaningful look. I wasn't looking well, we were working very long days and I was looking absolutely knackered.

Male colleague same day: "Christ Gimme, you're fading away to nothing there mate. Mind you I wish I could do the same but I can't stop bloody snacking"

(I am autistic though so don't get along very well with euphemisms 😂)

Mounjaronewbie25 · 11/03/2025 11:52

Hit a new milestone this morning. Had a mid week check on the scale and am now in the 13s !! Haven’t seen a 13 on the scale since 2019 😱

RobinEllacotStrike · 11/03/2025 12:20

the men who have commented are very interested in a "what are you doing? I want to do it too but I can't bring myself to say so or otherwise talk about this directly" kind of way.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 11/03/2025 13:30

Hi all,
Trying to get in the mindset for exercise. Feels so hard!
You were right @CanIGoHomeNowPlease
This week after the funeral is so hard. I have been a zoombie. A friend said "don't think the Mounjaro is making you a bit low"... I cried, nope it's definitely that I really miss my dad and life feels so sad without him.

Weight loss ticking away well
Started 136kg January 2025
Now 123kg

At about 1Kg a week hoping to be below 120kg for Easter.

RobinEllacotStrike · 11/03/2025 13:54

Take things easy @Reginaphalangeeeee
A couple of years ago I was grieving for a very dear friend of over 25 years who died in her 40's, I would drive to the gym & be unable to get out of the car. Have a wee cry in the carpark & go home. This went on for ages.

You are doing amazing!!!!

InfoSecInTheCity · 11/03/2025 18:21

@Reginaphalangeeeee give yourself the time and permission to grieve. You ma6 wake up some days feeling fine and like you want to just crack on, other days you won't and that's fine too.

I've lost both my parents and it's something you can't explain or prepare for, just do whatever feels right.

InfoSecInTheCity · 11/03/2025 18:27

Harking back to the earlier discussions about smart scales, had a look at my results today and barring a need for more water I'm distinctly average now 😂

If you want click counting in an excel sheet PM me your email and I'll send tomorrow when on my laptop.

For counting clicks do it the first time and mark with a ball point pen so you know where to start. When counting clicks you'll notice each full turn is 20 clicks and the 0 is aligned below the window each time. Mine is 45 clicks so I do 2 full turns then 5 clicks to get to my mark at 45.

Beachcomber74 · 11/03/2025 22:47

Well done all some great success stories here! I’m on 3rd pen & 3.75. First 2 pens 2.5.
For last 3 weeks the day after injection I have been terribly sick. Any anti nausea tricks? It’s weird as I was fine for first 7 weeks but sickness kicked in at 2.5.
I have lost 11kg so really pleased but starting to totally dread the horrible sickness post jab. Any suggestions welcomed!!

InfoSecInTheCity · 12/03/2025 06:29

@Beachcomber74 what are you eating? Just wondering if something in your diet may need to be cut out on injection day. Some people seem to find particularly rich or heavy foods react badly at different times during the week, presumably because of the slow digestion effect from the jabs. It might be worth making sure you eat especially clean that day so there's nothing sitting in your belly that could aggravate, and just giving it a try.

I have a virus of some kind and ended up in bed by 9.30pm last night so of course woke up stupidly early, decided to take advantage of everyone else in the house being asleep by having a luxury shower, shaving my legs and pits, full body exfoliation, actually following the directions to leave the conditioner on for a few minutes...... all that jazz instead of my usual 5min in and out.

My bathroom turned into bloody Clapham Junction, every bugger in the house decided to wake up early and use the toilet. 😭

Snozzlemaid · 12/03/2025 08:15

The last stone has taken 11 weeks to go but this morning I have reached a wonderful couple of milestones.
Total loss on MJ is now 6 stone.
I am no longer obese, just overweight with a BMI just under 30.

SW 18st 6lbs
CW 12st 6lbs

I have 2 stone to go to get to a normal BMI but this feels huge and very exciting this morning 🥳

Darlinghag · 12/03/2025 09:01

Morning folks, well done everyone who has met some milestones the last few days!

I had a target to try and get under 15st by today and I suspected I would not get under it as I have had a couple of frustrating weeks with slow scales. i was correct, but I am close…15st0.3lbs this morning!

I really think things are slowing down for me now, so my half a stone a month average is coming to an end. Which is fine, I can accept a slower loss as long as the losses do come. i don’t want to up my MJ dose yet as I am still finding its doing its job at 8mg for the most part - high suppression for days 1/2, middling, as in, can eat but fill up quickly on days 3/4/5, then lower on days 6/7. I get the odd week where it doesn’t hit the same, but its manageable.

I might need to reconsider my interim targets going forward though!

RobinEllacotStrike · 12/03/2025 09:58

Scales telling me I am 2 kilos heavier than yesterday - I'm not alarmed. My weight has always fluctuated a lot. but still TWO kilos!! Bloody hell.

NSV although loss has slowed & I do seem to be in a strange variating plateau I am feeling smaller. I mean, my arms feel smaller to touch, my collar bones are revealing their length, if I wrap my arms around myself I can feel bones, not just flesh/fat. My face is much slimmer now - my jawline is emerging.

I need to get some new holes punched in my belt.

@Beachcomber74 I second to check what you are eating. Is your diet now mainly unprocessed food? It does seem that processed carbs & fatty foods can cause problems on MJ so if you haven't already reduced those give it a try.

InfoSecInTheCity · 12/03/2025 10:09

Some really good NSVs there @RobinEllacotStrike !

I don't really understand 'Set point' but I had a good few weeks hovering up and down in the mid/late 160s, then all of a sudden last week and this week the weight seems to be falling off so that's interesting to watch. I've not changed anything I'm doing and was actually wondering if I needed to drop my calorie allowance a bit to account for a lower TDEE but going to stick with it and see how it goes.

Maybe its just my body reacting to the fact that the sun has decided to reappear in the world. I've been spending time in my hammock in the garden, at the weekend basking in the warmth and yesterday wrapped in a blanket enjoying the cold crisp but sunny weather.

RobinEllacotStrike · 12/03/2025 10:29

I really really really need a hammock in my garden!

InfoSecInTheCity · 12/03/2025 11:02

Got it towards the end of summer last year and instantly regretted every previous year that I hadn't had one, it is my very favourite place to be.

I challenged myself a lot last year and ended up building a permanent gazebo and massive shed to sort the garden out. All by myself, with a lot of swearing and some really stupid stubborn moments resulting in cuts, bumps and strains. So now I have a big metal and Perspex gazebo that gives a rain free sheltered area with an outdoor sofa and hammock in it. I need to get a gas heater for out there too I think, to extend use through spring and autumn.

It's this one and it's really sturdy

week 7 weigh day for me and no loss this week. Think my period is due in a few days so assuming that’s not helping, but also going to make an extra effort to eat nutritiously this week

@InfoSecInTheCity also only have one bathroom and everyone always seems to urgently need it when I’m trying to have a nice shower!

Very jealous of the hammock @InfoSecInTheCity that looks amazing!
