Hatched??!
Baby kiwis are extremely cute 😆

If it was my house, they'd be in the green bin....! 😬

Random weigh day for me and I've lost 4lbs 😊 So my stats are:

Week 1 SW 20 stone 3 lbs BMI 44
Week 10 CW 18 stone 4lbs BMI 38.9

Yay!! Am sooo pleased and just one more lb for that 2 stone loss!

Slightly confusing though, because this week has felt extra hard, with much less suppression, wine gum dreams and I've been very low too, so found everything difficult - so I was going to move to 6.5mg today, thinking I needed to slightly increase my dose 🙄

I think I'll still increase to 6.5mg and see how this week feels - am not in a rush to keep increasing, but could do with an easier week this week!

I have had moments of feeling really low on it
Much better when I'm on 2.5 I think despite the appetite suppression worries

This is one of those situations where I have to recreate the scenario. So you bought them in the shop, and put the bag
a) boot of car
b) back seat
c) passenger seat

check these first.

then you walked into the house and put the bags down
a) just inside the front door
b) on the kitchen counter
c) on the kitchen table

Check there

…………

and that’s how I discover that I’ve done things like left my new shoe insoles on the bathroom floor next to new bottle of toilet cleaner.

Of course there’s also the option that someone else in the house decided over the weekend they wanted to try making kiwi sorbet, kiwi juice, kiwi smoothie etc and didn’t tell you they had decimated your supply.

This is all very sensible & I am happy to report I had done all of this - several times. I've been looping the house/car for most of yesterday muttering like a mad woman.

But I just did it again and I HAVE FOUND THEM 🥝🥝

Of course teenages were involved - I had put the bag the 🥝🥝 were in on top of the laundry hamper by my bedroom door - it is the "take elsewhere when you leave the room" spot.

And a teenager had come in to dump their entire floordrobe into the washing hamper (of course they did), and in doing so the🥝🥝 bag ended up down the back of the hamper.

I'm relieved I didn't pack them - its a $400 fine per item of prohibited matter that infringes NZ's bio security. I've almost been fined $400 after falling ill on the plane, being last off the flight with a 4yo & carrying a baby & inadvertantly attempting to enter NZ with a rogue orange. 🍊

Normal services have resumed. 🥝🥝 🙏🏼
<no kiwis were harmed>

Ahhhh @RobinEllacotStrikeof course, kids! I literally handed my 10 year old MY PAIR of scissors yesterday with the explicit instruction to put them back when she was done. 5 mins later she asked me for some scissors, I told her, I handed you some 5 minutes ago, they are now missing, no idea where she managed to stash them in a 5 minutes ago period.

RobinEllacotStrike · 24/03/2025 17:45

Ah the scissors!!! A tale as old as time.

see pic for my solution. These scissors always get returned 😬😂. No idea why?

@Reginaphalangeeeee I had a sore/infection/boil/cyst/"something" under my boob and saw the Dr a few weeks back when it didn't get any better for 3-4 weeks. So it was the joy of low hanging, empty, wrinkly boobs being prodded, poked and photographed!

I did photograph it before I went to Drs so I could show them on the phone while talking about it before the examination which did help, if doing this iPhone magnifier is quite good at getting in detail that can be zoomed in on without going blurry. You might even be able to avoid an examination.

Antibiotics cleared most of it up in a week.

GENIUS!

Obviously the reason they get returned is that that is a witch-stone, and the witch in question is using her powers to overcome the doziness of your fellow inhabitants, @RobinEllacotStrike

Arglefraster · 24/03/2025 19:35

Love the scissor security system!

The coveted pair of scissors in our house are the ones I've had since primary (3? First year we were allowed our own scissors!) and as a result they still have my name tape sewn onto them 😁 they have to be returned to my pen pot or else!

They're all too scared well trained to touch my sewing scissors.

InfoSecInTheCity · 24/03/2025 19:56

Just had this conversation with my husband

Him: Are there any AAA batteries
Me: Well you’re looking in the battery box right now. If you see AAA batteries then we have them, if you don’t, then we don’t.
Him: I can’t find any but didn’t know if you knew if there were more….
Me: If there were more, they’d be in the battery box wouldn’t they, because that’s the box where the batteries are…
Him: Ok, so we haven’t got any then?
Me: ………deploys ‘The Look’

WeAllHaveWings · 24/03/2025 20:38

He's waiting for you to say you'll stick some on shopping list/order @InfoSecInTheCity. Stay strong, don't crack. If it was my dh, next week it will be -

Him: are there still no AAA batteries? 🤔
Me: I don't know, did you buy any? 🤨

Boringly predictable 🤣

InfoSecInTheCity · 24/03/2025 21:07

Yeah @WeAllHaveWings I ended on ‘The Look’, you know the one, it promises fiery and immediate retribution if you dare to do the thing you are thinking of doing. I won’t be adding batteries to my list any time soon 😂

MooBaggage · 24/03/2025 21:25

I am currently living on my own for the first time in my life and the absolute joy of knowing where everything is, is epic 😁

SqueakyDinosaur · 24/03/2025 22:01

An Irish friend of mine refers to it as "The Mammy Look" which I love.

QueenOfHiraeth · 24/03/2025 22:49

On a normal basis there is only DH and I here, although our children and their children visit often, but I still have to deploy "the look" fairly frequently.

I wouldn't want to be without him but do love it when he goes away, like @MooBaggage says it is luxury to go out leaving the kitchen clean with everything in its place and come back to it still being clean and not covered in crumbs!

ShineyGreen · 25/03/2025 06:49

I am a single parent with two left at home (ds2 16 and ds3 10, ds2 20 is at uni) and the utter joy when they go to my exh’s every other weekend is shameful 😂

They are regular recipients of The Look @InfoSecInTheCity - I love that you “deploy” yours like some sort of military assault missile 😂

dimples76 · 25/03/2025 07:15

I am a single parent with DS11 and DD5. DS has learning disabilities and is impervious to all looks - he is more likely to ask what is wrong with my face!

The last couple of days whilst I have not over eaten in terms of calories I feel like I could have made more nutritious choices. As others have said mounjaro just seems to make it a lot easier to think those weren't great days but a tiny blip on the weight loss journey.

It's now a month until I take the DC to Drayton Manor. I keep worrying about if I will fit on the rides - wasted way too much time last night looking at photos of the last time we were there (5-6 years ago) to assess whether I am bigger or smaller.

InfoSecInTheCity · 25/03/2025 07:20

@ShineyGreenit is a weapon, I’ve made those people on the street who try to sell you stuff or sign you up to things take a step back and look away through deployment of The Look.

@dimples76I took DD to Drayton Manor when I was firmly a size 22 and was able to do the rides, granted I wasn’t trying to do any of the big scary rides but I squeezed my ass into the teacups and Thomas Tank engine rides without issue.

dimples76 · 25/03/2025 07:30

Thanks @InfoSecInTheCity, I am a size 20 so that is reassuring. In the Autumn when we went to Diggerland I had to ask for an extension belt on one of the rides so that is playing on my mind but I have lost two stones and a dress size since then.

alltablenochairs · 25/03/2025 07:56

My sewing scissors are kept padlocked shut after I caught DH using them to cut a cardboard box. Even the kids (15 and 11l know not to touch my sewing scissors. I could have happily used said scissors on DH when I found him chopping up the box.

you will never forget this dreadful episode but feelings will ease with time.

Edited

I'm glad someone else feels my pain.

For those who want to know what we are talking about, using sewing scissors for anything but cutting fabric is a cardinal sin. Using sewing scissors for cutting cardboard is unforgiveable. I keep my sewing scissors VERY sharp. Cutting paper and especially bloody cardboard with them permanently blunts them. Rapidly.

RobinEllacotStrike · 25/03/2025 09:21

Unforgivable <nods in very serious>

My sewing scissors are in my sewing box and have a very simple rule. You use them, you buy me new ones and I get to choose them, and they will get progressively more expensive with every infraction.

DH thinks they are ‘just’ scissors. No! The ones in my general craft box are ‘just’ scissors. My dressmaking shears are special, and sharp and MINE.

claudiawinklemansfringetrimmer · 25/03/2025 10:31

Oh no, I have to confess I am the one committing the scissor infractions in our house as we do have some “general purpose” scissors which I can never find and so I keep pinching DH’s kitchen scissors (the kitchen is his domain and I am but an infrequent tourist who occasionally makes cakes)
