Took my first jab this morning. Just weighed myself and I'm 19 stone 9lbs. I can't actually believe it! Its almost a stone more than I was when I last weighed! Anyway, lets hope its a lot less next time I weigh!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 02/05/2025 12:25

Good luck @RatalieTatalie you'll get there!
Don't forget to update us.

Week 43 weigh in for me, and a 1 pound gain, boo 😥. I have started Couch to 5K this week, and done two of the three sessions so far, so I'm clinging on to the hope that the weight gain is temporary and related to the increase in exercise. I certainly haven't increased what I'm eating, that's been the same as usual.

I am also trying to hold onto positivity of the NSV of having done the two C25K sessions and managed them without any issue. It's been a very long time since I've done any structured exercise like that, or any proper running at all.

UsernameShmusername2024 · 02/05/2025 12:32

Agree it can feel very overwhelming- I started from my highest ever weight and need to lose 14+ st to be a healthy weight which is just insane and makes me feel awful to write. But we are where we are, and have to focus on the HUGE positive - the fact that we're tackling the issue now, every loss is a step in the right direction and I for one feel more in control and confident that I can achieve a huge loss than ever before.

One thing I've not really got a grip on yet is exercise - can anyone recommend some good home workout for strength training please...I've never set foot in a gym and can't see that changing at the moment and have never done weights etc in my life - have mo clue what I should be doing but any recommendations or tips much appreciated 😀

Also, anyone else actually quite hungry the day after their jab? I jab in the evening and the day after I'm probably more hungry than later in the week, just wondering if anyone else has that experience?

Doggymummar · 02/05/2025 13:58

@UsernameShmusername2024 I'm not an excerciser but I bought a swimming costume still waiting on it arriving and I might start doing water aerobics in my local pool. I am also on the Oushk FB page and we are doing a squats challenge in May which I have joined in. I am walking about 3000 steps a day to the shop to put my Vinted sales as well. I have terrible bingo wings so I need to look at that.

Tweetiecry · 02/05/2025 16:42

Another week another half pound loss. I am 13 weeks in and still have not hit a stone. It’s soul destroying. I feel like I’m working so hard, spending a lot of money and moving at the pace of the slowest snail.

Hearditonapodcast · 02/05/2025 17:22

I'm on another Mounjaro thread for people starting in May, but they all seem to be between 12 and 15 stone, with only a couple of stone to lose. They're all talking about being on it for a couple of months, I know I'm in for the long haul.

My current weight is exactly 19st, I'm 5'6 and want to lose 9 and a half stone ideally. I know it's not quite 10 stone, but can I join this thread anyway? 😁

I did my first injection last night, feeling ok so far. I don't feel hungry but I am still constantly thinking about food, although I don't seem to have the motivation to make anything or eat.
I had a protein and fibre smoothie this morn, and a handful of roasted chickpeas around 2. I think I'm probably ready to eat now, so I'm going to make something and see how I get on!

I'm really interested in others experiences, particularly whether your 'food noise' ever totally disappeared, or whether it just became easier to ignore?

Iwouldratherbesinging · 02/05/2025 18:15

@eibbed999 I've had a few wobbles, I think sometimes the whole thing can feel a bit overwhelming, but they really don’t last long. They were definitely more frequent at the beginning.

@TragicMuse you sound like you are having a wonderful time, keep riding that high!

Welcome to the gang @RatalieTatalie, it’s a very friendly non-judgy group.

oh @SilenceInside, that’s a shame, it must be the extra exercise if nothing else has changed, an extra pound of leg muscle! I’ll be starting soon (I keep saying that!) but that’s amazing that you managed two sessions with no issues, a real positive 💪

@UsernameShmusername2024 i always find I have a good appetite the day after jabbing, then a poor appetite day 3, 4, 5 and 6 then it’s back again.

Hello @Hearditonapodcast and welcome. Totally get what you mean about the starter threads, I felt too embarrassed to admit how much weight I had to loose at the beginning, then people hitting goals a few months down the line. I feel safest here, but I’m now one of those 14 stone something people, but I was you in October last year. It feels amazing.
i still get ‘food noise’ but it’s really easy to ignore. Or act on it by eating an apple or something similar, it’s also really easy to say no thankyou. It’s a really weird feeling - it’s like ‘who am I and what did you do to the other me?’.
good luck with your journey 😊

Hi and welcome. I stay out the other threads as I find they trigger the same feelings as I had in diet clubs where far slimmer women than me are moaning about looking hideous etc. This is a lovely supportive thread. There is a 5st+ one too.

My food noise disappeared completely with my first injection and stayed away until I was halfway through my first 5mg pen. Since then (I’m on about week 18) it’s crept back but I can ignore it or eat an orange or a square of chocolate and be satisfied. I use some willpower but that’s a huge difference for me as I had zero willpower before. I decided to go to 7.5mg, it didn’t seem to make much difference to my appetite but I did get more side effects so I’ve gone back down to 5mg and using the willpower muscle more. I don’t want to eradicate my appetite completely as I enjoy eating out so it’s working ok for me. I can recognise that I am full and satisfied and stop eating which is a big change.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 02/05/2025 19:48

Oh yes, it's so much better being on this thread. It's rather dispiriting, seeing women who are on MJ for six months, reaching their goal weights.

🤣

TragicMuse · 02/05/2025 20:20

Hello losers! How are we all?

I have done another 12700 steps today, 5 miles. Burned 2700 calories.

I am finding that I can eat the things I want but get full very quickly! This is odd but rather good, I don’t feel deprived.

TheZingyFish · 02/05/2025 21:09

This may sound daft, but I’ve been struggling since I had pizza earlier in the week. Not because I’ve wanted to eat lots of rubbish, but because I’ve eaten even less than my new normal as have been struggling feeling quite uncomfortable with heartburn. I managed less than 500 calories on Thursday but have had about 800 today.

Has anyone else experienced heartburn that has put you off eating? Does anyone use anything like gaviscon? I am still suffering a bit with constipation so am a little wary of taking something else.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 02/05/2025 21:55

17th jab done here and 19 stone now. So nearly got sight of 18!!! And a total of 2st 11 lost so far.

I think I'm starting to feel a bit lighter even though there's a billion stone to go!

But yes to finding it strange reading of people who have lied a out their height to get the drugs and only have a stone or two to lose. I think there will be a lot of disordered eating around this.

I know I don't always keep up with this thread but love this space ❤️

WafflingDreamer · 02/05/2025 22:36

@UsernameShmusername2024 I downloaded the Joe Wicks body coach app. I personally think it is quite expensive for what you get but it has lots of workouts and recipes and each 28 day cycle more recipes are added and the workouts change and get slightly more challenging. You can access lots of other work outs. I think you can do a 7 day free trial. There's a lot of HIIT sessions but also abs, strength, barre, yoga and mobility.
I started on absolute beginner and I couldn't do a star jump or a plank at all and I'm on beginner cycle 3 now so have been doing it just over 2 months and I can almost do star jumps for 35 seconds and I can hold a plank for just over a minute.

I generally wake up at 6am 5 days a week and do a 30min HIIT or weight session and then a 10min abs session.

I suffer with reflux anyway so I’m
already taking lansoprasole, but when I eat something which beats even that I have Gaviscon Advance. It’s more expensive but it really does the job. It’s not particularly pleasant in texture or taste! But it works.

And I also have days where I barely top 800 calories, sometimes less. It balances out eventually…

Get the Gaviscon Advance and see how it works for you. But also, if this is a regular thing maybe see your GP about reflux??

Lobsterteapot · 03/05/2025 07:37

Hello lovelies,

Week 16 here and a two pound loss bringing me to 3 stone 4 pounds off!
Got a pair of tailored shorts in a size 20 yesterday! Was going to get the 22 till my mum persuaded me to try them both on!!

Slightly worried about everything in the holiday suitcase being too big now. Need to get it down to have a look. Does anyone else have separate holiday clothes or am I a bit odd 😂

HelpMebeok · 03/05/2025 08:09

So happy this morning. Another 4 pounds off so I'm now 2 stone 9 pounds off and down to next stone bracket. Even better is that I've had no symptoms this week. Not even one sulphur burp.

Doggymummar · 03/05/2025 08:20

I have separate summer and winter clothes but not different clothes for holiday except for swimming stuff, sarongs and beach bags towels etc that I wouldn't use in UK.i got mine from the loft in the Easter hols and it was all new last Summer as I had lost about four stone by then and was down from a 20 to a 16. It was all enormous so went on Vinted and eBay and was replaced with 12s for this year. I have a huge haul due today from next so 🤞 it fits. I had loads of bottoms but no tops. Yesterday I spent the day in size 18 shorts and a bra top from Boody as nothing fitted.

Welcome @Hearditonapodcast - I've not been here long but I check in every day, this thread is like having supportive pals around you. We all are/were seriously heavy, and didn't get like this overnight - I suspect between us we've tried every weight loss plan on the planet and for most of us (not all), Mounjaro is a bit of a miracle. One thing I've learned though is that it is very different for everybody - some people lose quickly, others slowly, some have side effects, others have none, the food noise/suppression works in mysterious ways for each individual. All you can do is read of other people's experiences and take inspiration and advice from them, but bear in mind that you might be completely different, and that doesn't make it wrong!

Personally, the way I've described it to friends is that it's like I've been injected with an effective dose of 'moderation' - which is something I've never encountered before! For me, it has taken away food noise by maybe 90% - every now and then I'll have a little moment where my brain acts on muscle memory and suggests I get a Chinese or whatever, but then the other 90% says 'don't be a knob!' and it's very easy to not do it. Before Mounjaro (B.M!), as soon as the thought that I wanted something crossed my mind, I was doomed - I'd try and fight it but I'd be on Just Eat within seconds! All of that has gone for me, and I can't say how liberating that is. I took my 7th jab yesterday. I'm losing weight, but more than that I feel in control of my eating for the first time in my adult life. Good luck!

eibbed999 · 03/05/2025 08:38

@Doggymummar Size 12s! I feel like there should be choirs of angels and celestial trumpets sounding! Brilliant.

TheFunkyDuckling · 03/05/2025 09:00

Wk5D1 and I injected 3.4mg this morning (I only got 0.8mls from my golden dose)
Tempted to top it up to 3.75mg with a bit from my new pen to be fair.
Bit disappointed with my weight loss so far seeing as I have so much to lose.
I'm down 4.6kg in 4 weeks (roughly 10lb).
I know that anything faster than 2lb a week isn't ideal, but when your journey is so long you do kinda hope for a kick start.
Appetite suppression on 2.5mg was good for 2 weeks, but then faded last 2 weeks. Using a lot of willpower to get through the day x x

Mounjaro, 10st or more to lose, thread two
TragicMuse · 03/05/2025 09:18

@TheFunkyDuckling I think all
pen doses are 0.6ml regardless of strength, so you might have had another 2.5mg…

Thanks @TragicMuse,in the past I might get the occasional bit of indigestion after a particular meal but would subside after a couple of hours but this seems to be lasting for a while. That said it does feel a little better this morning. I will nip out and get some Gaviscon so I have them to hand, but if does get worse or lingers on I may have a word with my doctor or provider.

No i extracted the golden dose from my pen with a syringe.
Instead of injecting 0.6ml (2.5mg) I injected 0.8ml (3.33mg) x x
