Body sizes are like understanding rocket science! I’m now 14st 10lbs, 5ft 3 and currently size 22 top and 20 bottom (I think) however I can get into primark 18 jeans.
Im wearing bigger sized clothes than you @Doggymummar were at your highest, I must have ginormous bones 😂

I'm 17st 4lb, 5ft 9.5 (176.5cms) and am still mainly wearing size 22 bottoms, I can just about get into stretchy/wide leg size 20 trousers. I'm pear shaped though so i just bought some 18/20 tops on vinted in the hope they'll fit!

JustAnotherSod · 29/04/2025 16:01

The thing I am enjoying with mounjaro is that the machine just keeps chugging away.

That's such a good way to describe how I feel too - it's a very different feeling to every other weight loss approach I've tried as it doesn't feel like it needs more effort than just keep doing what you are doing and the losses will keep coming.

TragicMuse · 29/04/2025 17:45

Chiming in with the weirdo sizing! When I was 12.5-13ish stone many years ago I was still a 16.

Currently, my size 24 jeans from Sainsbury are falling off me, the Live Unlimited ones are also loose. Whereas 2 pairs of size 26 trousers, one each from Missguided and Anna Scholz, are both too small. And the dresses I tried on in Next were all a 20.

None of it makes any sense.

Like Gnome, I also make a lot of my own clothes and am looking forward to knowing the pattern will come in my size, not being restricted or disappointed by a limited range (bust adjustments to accommodate my rack notwithstanding!!) and I think I’ve mentioned it before, being able to make a top from 1 metre of fabric!!

eibbed999 · 29/04/2025 19:57

So, on the advice of you lovely people, I started posting some clothes on Vinted, and they are being snapped up really quickly. It's nice to clear some of my larger sizes out (hopefully I won't need them again), as well as make a few pennies. I was kind of enjoying it until today - I dropped a parcel off at the local Tesco, and was given a tracking receipt. When I got home and went to confirm it, the tracking receipt number related to a parcel that was delivered on April 10! As it's now April 29, that seems unlikely unless Evri have created a time machine. No joy from customer services, obviously, and the tracking on Vinted still showing that I haven't posted the very nice Boden wrap dress at all! Sorry to vent, I just get quite stressed about little things like this. But on the bright side, even though I am stressed, I feel zero urge to eat a giant cake or go on the Just Eat website!

Doggymummar · 29/04/2025 20:10

Oh that's weird. Hopefully it will arrive ok and nothing to worry about. I've sold about 125 items in April and they've all got there with no issues. One person complained an item was too small and said it was dirty 😭 but other than that all was well. Try not to take it personally if anyone complains

eibbed999 · 29/04/2025 20:18

@Doggymummar - hopefully it will sort itself out! It's cathartic getting rid of it all but I don't want it to be an ordeal! So far the people I've dealt with on there have been really nice, bit more of a community feel than eBay.

UsernameShmusername2024 · 29/04/2025 21:07

Love reading everyone's wins! This is such a lovely supportive board.
I think my biggest NSVs are not lying awake worrying every night that I'm killing myself and leaving my kids with no mum and also happily making plans with friends for later this year without worrying about how my size will impact them - I still have a lot to lose, at least another 10 st, but feel confident that I'll have lost a fair whack of it by autumn/winter in a way I never could be without MJ.

TragicMuse · 29/04/2025 21:48

I’m going on a plane on Thursday and I reckon I won’t need the seatbelt extender! 😱

So excited for my little break, I’m wondering if my sisters will notice that I’ve lost around 2 stone since I last saw them!

I’m jabbing tomorrow night - there’s been almost no nausea this week at all so I’m going to take my dose as normal. I think Easter was possibly linked to getting a cold. I think that’s why I was so knackered anyway.

Holidaying on the MJ is going to be interesting!

eibbed999 · 29/04/2025 21:56

@TragicMuse - the sheer unbridled joy of not needing a seatbelt extender! I'm going away early July and hope to be in the same boat (or plane). Have fun.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 29/04/2025 22:47

@TragicMuse we’ll all be here waiting with baited breath for a seatbelt update!

I can promise you there will be one!

I fly at 0850 tomorrow and land around 1250 European time, so look for it in the afternoon… 🙂✈️

Please do @TragicMuse! A huge NSV for me would be to be able to travel without a seatbelt extender on a plane. I was so big at one point that not all the seatbelts in Ubers fitted across me 😯

eibbed999 · 30/04/2025 10:48

Me too @Motnight - I'd have to sit in the back and hold it, and the drivers would pretend they hadn't noticed! Humiliating and really unsafe, but I never knew which would fit until I was in and the car was off. Hopefully those days are gone for us.

Also, I just went to a Tesco superstore, and walked past the Krispy Kreme stand without so much as a second glance. Ha, take that, donuts!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 30/04/2025 11:38

Holidaying on the MJ is going to be interesting!

I've been on holiday with MJ twice now.
I let myself have a few ice creams and sweets.

After the first week away, I gained 1lb. I didn't think that was bad, and I lost it the next week anyway.

A few months later, we had another holiday and I gained 1lb again.

It makes holidays enjoyable. You don't come home and find you've gained 5lb (which you then don't lose).

52soon · 30/04/2025 16:56

Just taken jab 3 of 2.5 mg another 1lb down, I’m still waiting for a whoosh, maybe that will come when I ago up to 5mg.
wk1 -2lb
wk2 -1lb
I was expecting a bigger loss having so much to lose plus tracking calories it tells me I should be on 1700 per day but I’m staying around 1000-1200 and feel I’m eating well, no snacking, no alcohol and weighing and scanning everything that I eat. Looks like I will be a plodder!

Kay2000 · 30/04/2025 19:10

Can we talk ice cream please? Does anyone have any recommendations for lower calorie ice creams as I usually spend summer cooling myself down with Magnums and Calippos. My hubby will not stop eating them, so I need alternatives. I like Mini Milks although they’re not easy to find, mini Calippos, but any other suggestions welcome.

Mars ice creams are only around 100 calories ISH x x

Doggymummar · 30/04/2025 19:37

I have a magnum most nights. Currently the sour cherry ones. I've never looked at the calories to be honest. But when I did count cals at WW Solero was the ice-cream of choice

Bibulous · 30/04/2025 21:21

A quarter of a tub of Halo Top ice cream is 90 calories. But my favourite at the moment is an orange jubbly.

Not ice cream, but I’ve just discovered frozen sable grapes sprinkled with sugar free jelly powder. They are bloody delicious! Sprinkle some strawberry flavour powder over them and whack them in the freezer.

First NSV unlocked: I’m on a coach to the airport - too early for a train! - and the seatbelt fits around me and isn’t trying to become one with my innards! WIN!

This is boding well! Fingers crossed for me my dear losers!

Doggymummar · 01/05/2025 07:28

Have a wonderful time. I went to Rhodes last year on MJ and lost three pounds. Sea swimming uses a lit of energy. But if you don't, not biggy it's just a blip.

GnomeDePlume · 01/05/2025 07:48

@TragicMuse that is a marvellous NSV!

Weigh in and jab day.

SW 137kg BMI 53.5
CW 115kg BMI 44.9
GW 60kg BMI 23.4

1kg down on the week, happy with that. Total loss so far 22kg, 3 stone 6.5 lbs. That's 16% down on starting weight.

A good start but still another 8 stone 9 lbs to go to reach a healthy BMI.

What I really do need to do now is up my exercise (like actually do some).

Motnight · 01/05/2025 08:10

Fantastic update @TragicMuse.

Re ice-cream recommendations as others have said Halo. But I really like the Mini Magnums that are around 170 calories. It seems more like a proper treat to me.
