It's my new best friend. I'm typing in what I've eaten over a day and it's giving me feedback and rough calorie value. And I'm asking it about side effects and my new adhd meds too. And now about being mobile again. It's so friendly and kind too... ❤️😂

SilenceInside · 05/03/2025 23:06

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden that is an amazing result, and such a difference between where you were and where you are now. The NSV are so helpful and motivating.

WafflingDreamer · 06/03/2025 06:15

I've had a really rough week, I had a really busy day at work on Friday and didn't drink enough then had dihorrea for 24 hours Saturday evening. Still feel really dehydrated from it and I've been drinking lots. I've had a cough and cold and my period started. I downloaded the Joe Wicks app and I've been doing his beginner HIIT, managed 4 sessions last week and aiming for 4 this week. On a positive I bought a pair of size 20 leggings to work out in and I got them on!

Just 1lb down this week but that's a total of 50lbs down!

Weigh in number 22
SW 21st 9lb (BMI 44.8)
CW 18st 1lb (BMI 37.4)
GW 11st 9lb (BMI 24.1)
1lb down this week
Losses so far; 4, 1, 5, 1, 3, 4, 2, 2, 2, 4, 1, +3, 5, 1, 3, 2, 4, 3, 1, 1, 3, 1
Total loss 50lbs / 3st 8lb

GnomeDePlume · 06/03/2025 06:59

Weigh in and jab day for me as well

SW 137KG BMI 53.5
CW 120.5KG BMI 47.1
GW 60KG BMI 23.4

That's 1kg down this week, 16.5kg, or 36 pounds in old money, since I started. Slightly worrying that there is still half of me to go.

This feels sustainable. Side effects are intermittent and manageable at 10mg. Diabetes symptoms are improved.

DD2 has now lost 6 stones. Also T2 diabetic. We chat a lot about weight loss and it's social effects.

She is noticing that she is getting noticed more. She is ambivalent about this. It has shown up to her just how shallow her senior managers are. Not in a sexual way just that now her senior managers 'see' her whereas before she was invisible.

Loveanewusername · 06/03/2025 07:07

285.8lb this morning!!

that’s my next mini target hit , and exactly 20lb down

this is my pre COVID weight/ the last time I flew weight so it was a mini target as we have an airplane ✈️ flight in the summer

I think my next target is 277lb - that will be the two stone mark - let’s do this guys :-)

GnomeDePlume · 06/03/2025 07:21

Just done some maths and I now have only(!) 9.5 stones to lose. This will take me down to GW of 9.5 stone. Not really sure that is realistic. I have only seen that weight once in my early teens as I sailed through it on the way up.

The lowest I have got to dieting was around 11.5 stones but that was on lighter life which for some reason I don't feel 'counts' as it was such an unnatural diet. Also, thinking about it, I am now roughly at the weight I was when I started lighter life.

TragicMuse · 06/03/2025 07:37

Well done everyone!

I'm down a bit more on the dailies so holding out for my 'official' Saturday wi and next jab.

I was looking through my old MFP history and the lowest I got to was around 191 lbs about 12 years ago. It'll be interesting to see that again!!

Lds1 · 06/03/2025 07:39

Weigh in day today I lost 1.1kg

I'm now 101.6kg (15 stone, 13 lb and 15.83 oz). Just into the 15s!

Total lost 41.2kg (6 stone, 6 lb and 13.29 oz)

Still to go 41.6kg (6 stone, 7 lb and 11.4 oz). I'm very close to losing 50% of what I need to.

Next jab Saturday, I don't weigh and jab on the same day.

TorturedParentsDepartment · 06/03/2025 09:25

I weigh most days - I like to have that pattern of what are my natural fluctuations so I don't get upset if it goes back up on the scales a bit. I've found I'll get a huge drop, regain and wibble for a week or so gradually working back down to that drop level and stabilising there; then there'll be another drop down and wibble period.

It means I've mentally got a "ceiling level" of weight in my head and a "current personal best" and about 4-5lb between them going on at any given time.

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 06/03/2025 13:14

I'm exactly the same @TorturedParentsDepartment . Helps me to see the daily fluctuations

MummyInTheNecropolis · 06/03/2025 17:10

I only officially weigh once a week on a Thursday when I do my jab but do have at least one or two sneaky weigh ins in between. I’ve just weighed and jabbed and have lost 3lbs this week taking me to my first mini target of 3 stone off. It’s not really noticeable to others yet but I am feeling the difference. I already have a lot more energy, can walk a lot further without getting out of breath and my clothes feel looser. Onwards and downwards!

JustAnotherSod · 06/03/2025 17:47

@Lds1 those are fabulous results - you must feel great having almost reached the half way point - congratulations!

Thank you, I was sceptical at first with having so much to lose and having tried a few times previously and not getting very far.

At this point it feels like I can do it, I'm starting to think I could maybe get to my goal by the end of the year 🤞🏼

TragicMuse · 06/03/2025 19:45

I've decided I'm on a clothes buying ban for the year - necessities excepted - until I've run out of things that fit me!

I have many smaller clothes in storage bags and I'm really looking forward to getting them out as I progress.

Today I'm about 8lbs down and my trousers feel slightly looser! They're a loose style anyway but the elastic is just a tiny bit more comfortable.

I'm also really enjoying re-exploring all the recipes I have saved in MFP and remembering how I can cook nice stuff that is balanced and better on the calories.

It's feeling manageable at the moment!

HelpMebeok · 06/03/2025 20:20

@Lds1 how long has it taken you to lose half your weight. That's amazing x

7 months ish, I started on 25th July 2024

Hi

Checking in as I've been lurking for a while and want to try and join in.

I've been on a weightloss journey for the last 12 months, mainly calorie counting and it's been extremely slow because I've been trying to address some of the psychological factors that have contributed to my gradual weight gain over the years. I'm a former member of the diet culture cycle. I started mounjaro in November and it's been slow and steadily contributing to the weightloss overall and I've increased now to 10mg with very little side effects and an increased suppression.

SW (pre MJ Feb 24) - 25 stone 7lb
CW - 22 stone
GW (interim so it's manageable) - 19 stone

Jab and weigh day on Mondays.

HelpMebeok · 06/03/2025 20:58

Wow some really inspiring stories here. Pleased to report still no side effects on my return to 2.5 after a week off.
I am a tummy jabber. Wondered how people have got on with arm jabs?

Namechangean · 06/03/2025 21:16

Have really lost it this week. Medexpress not sent my pen and so it’s been over a week since I’m injected. My wife had an operation and she’s been eating ‘treats’ as she’s been feeling rubbish, I’ve been trying my best to control myself but end up giving in and eating more than I should. So not losing weight this week and going on a uk break next week, planning meals to keep me on track but know I’ll struggle to not over do it. Just hope my injection comes before I go to give me a helping hand to keep me on track. It’s not a major blip but just disheartening as feel like things keep coming up to test me and I’m failing every test, unless I’m at home and able to control the meals, I’m not making good choices

Iwouldratherbesinging · 06/03/2025 22:43

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden I can feel your joy from here! Brilliant… my new best friend is co-pilot via the Bing app, he’s so friendly it’s scary but I chat away to him 😂

@WafflingDreamer congrats on the 50lb loss! I’m trying to catch up with you, I’m so close!

hello @SarahT19, fingers crossed you get some sort of appetite back as the level of MJ drops in your system. I find that I usually have three days where I eat very little (I also do 5:2 fasting) so I then make up for it on the days where I can eat more. Try eating some nuts, they are high calorie and full of protein, I also love babybel cheese on the days I struggle to get the calories in.

@mamabeeboo I’ve had a few occasions where the food noise has come back and I’m obsessively looking for something to snack on, but there isn’t any ‘bad’ food in the house. I’m not hungry when it happens, but it distracts me from work and I can’t concentrate. Usually I’ll eat a banana and some grapes then l’ll berate myself as I feel so full and can’t finish my dinner.
I used to really like frozen grapes, I might pop some in the freezer to see if they help if that pesky voice comes back…

@Lds1, congrats on making it to the 15s! Fingers crossed I’ll be there next week!
I do sneak daily weigh-ins but its not official until I physically record it 😂 I use the happy scale app and it predicts I’ll hit 10st 7 on the 12th November, seems like a distant hazy dream at the moment.

hello @jazzygenie, I’m also on 10mg with a 12.5 pen waiting for me in the fridge, I think that I’ll be counting the clicks for a 10mg dose though as I’ve had a few days each week on 10mg where I struggle to eat properly. Slow and steady is good, welcome along!

@Namechangean still no pen! That’s really not on, yes it’s disheartening but like you say it’s not major, you’ll get back on track but how frustrating for you. I hope that they give you some sort of compensation for the delay!

I’m going to be ‘tested’ next weekend. DH is away from Friday morning until Sunday evening, so it’s just me all weekend. I have a busy day on Saturday, but usually if he’s away for the weekend I’ll meticulously plan what I’m going to eat. Usually it would be a takeaway courtesy of uber eats, or my other favourite, thickly sliced fresh bread toasted with butter and marmalade and chocolate/crisps with a couple of good films.
I know that I won’t be doing anything like that this time round, but nestling down to a couple of good films with a salad doesn’t quite hold the same appeal!

@bookishbabe just letting you know your thread was such a hit we’ve started another. I hope you can come and join us again when you feel you are ready.

Hey @Iwouldratherbesinging thank you for thinking of me.

I'm still plodding along and I ordered my 10mg pen yesterday. I've got to try harder with my food choices but my portions are at least half the size of my old ones, and we've had no takeaways since Christmas.
DH is a bit better, he's still feeling very, very low and struggling, but the worry of waking up to find him "gone" has lessened and he's trying to fight through the drepession and fog.
I'm glad everyone else is trying and going strong and hopefully it's a healthier and happier future for us all.

Yes, my only official weight is the one on the Thursday, I did have a sneaky weigh this morning and I lost 300grams so now 50% there. Although it's not recorded so not official!

I use the free shotsy app and a weight tracker app, which says I'll be at 60kg at some point in October. I don't know if I need to go that low, I've never been a healthy weight so that goal is just based on mid BMI for my height.
