Plodders Club 🐌

Hi,

Anyone on WLI and in the slow lane v. welcome here for a bit of plodding supportive chat!

Plodders, bobbers, plateau-ers, stallers and stuck ducks come on in! Would be great to chat with others who are in the same boat, ie travelling at the speed of snails on their WL journey.

I have a mountain to move (nearly 5 st), am not ready to give up on Mounjaro yet and would love a bit of company here on this long haul to reach a healthy BMI. 🦥 🐌 🏔️

Come join me if you have a long way to go (either due to slow losses or amount to lose) and would like some peer support to keep going when the scales are being stubborn. It’s hard being on WLI when it’s not working as well for you and progress is slow or stalled. This is a safe space to share anything, the good, the bad and the side effecty. Anything positive (scale or non scale related) as well as freedom to vent and grumble as much as you want

If you taking WLI and trucking along nicely or nearly at your goal weight that is fantastic but please post on a different thread.

*can’t be real

Doggymummar · 27/06/2025 08:54

I've only lost two pounds in June, which is the worst result in a year, so annoying. I am a bit stumped what to do really as, without getting flamed, I really can't eat less when factored over a week. I'm about to be made redundant so I might be able to get free gym when I am on job seekers. Hair loss is horrid, sorry for this of you experiencing that. In March last year I got a weave as my hair was getting bald patches and I didn't want that. Yesterday I went for my 8 week refit and I was able to do without one row ( I had 4) as the hair had grown back sufficiently to cover it. So, there is hope.

tryingtobesogood · 27/06/2025 10:06

@Doggymummar wow that sounds tough, and to have only lost 2lb, frustrating. How had your losses been? Are you close to your goal weight?

I worry about hair loss a lot, I notice mine feels thinner than it was when I went up to 7.5mg. I’ve gone back down to 5mg and will keep an eye on it. It’s definitely not a side effect I expected.

Apparently I put on 2lbs overnight this week. Obviously logic says that’s not possible but it’s still prickling malevolently at the back of my brain. So, still at total loss of 1st 3lbs in 6 months. Going up on Sunday, so 🤞

Sorry to hear about the hair @PlodAlongPolly - I can see why that would be concerning. I think I read that it can happen if you’re not getting the vitamins you need - time for some gummies?

It could well be fluid fluctuations @0ncemorewithfee1ing but I hear you with the malevolent brain murmurings, is annoying when we’re trying to bring our numbers down! 1 st 3 is still great going though and all the best with your dose up

Thanks re hair, I think the nutrition is not where it should be, have been having stronger nausea on the higher doses especially in the first few days after jabbing and more food aversions, so eating ‘proper’ meals has definitely fallen away the last couple of months. So will resolve to get the extra vitamins in - I have gummies and must remember to actually take them! 😅 Plus fruit, more fruit and raw veg (still off cooked veg). Will chop up some carrot and cucumber sticks I think to bung in a container in the fridge and maybe cook some chicken sausages that are languishing in the freezer for an easy protein grab. I’m off a lot of strong flavour food but still like houmous, wonder if there’s much protein in that..

Oh @PlodAlongPolly what did you say 👆

PlodAlongPolly · 27/06/2025 10:18

Haha I wonder if MNHQ are doing random checks? If don’t think me encouraging another poster then rabbiting on about nausea, gummies and houmous should raise any eyebrows! 😂

That’s interesting @PlodAlongPolly i had almost complete food suppression on 7.5mg, struggled to eat anything. Maybe that’s what affected my hair.

PlodAlongPolly · 27/06/2025 10:39

tryingtobesogood · 26/06/2025 19:50

@PlodAlongPolly my hair is not what it was. I’m hoping it comes back when I stop MJ

@0ncemorewithfee1ing yep, I was 2lb heavier this morning than yesterday morning. I just shrugged my shoulders and moved on, it can be real. I’ve not lost for a bit, but I’ve also been on holiday so am trying to take a long view of it all. I went up to 7.5mg but felt so rubbish so have dropped back down again. I might try going up again next month.

Sorry you have the same issue with your hair @tryingtobesogood I thought it might be hormone related but Oncemore said about vit deficiency so am going to try and improve and get more in (even if I don’t feel like eating).

Bah I say, and humbug to the pesky undeserved gains! We’ve been plodding away faithfully and are just about due a whoosh (or 3) I reckon!

I am also going to drop down as feeling rubbish nausea at 12.5 and pregnancy style food aversions so going to count clicks to 11 and see how that goes

Yeah could well be, I’ve definitely eaten less since 7.5 (and less of the good stuff too unfortunately 🫤 ) so maybe lower vitamins and cals are the culprit. I don’t know why I thought could be hormones as have peri stuff rattling away in the background

Thanks @Doggymummar and sorry you’ve had it badly too with the hair 😢 but good news with your re-fit yesterday and that it is re-growing, you must have been so pleased to be one row down! 🙌 Thanks for sharing that, is a real encouragement.

Sorry about the slower than usual loss in June and am in a similar place with 1 lb down this month. It must catch up at some point though, with daily cals being lower than pre-MJ. I think of posters who put on their total losses over a year period or more, and makes me think to keep sticking with it as will be worth it in the end, as even tiny losses over a long period stack up to make a significant result eventually.

Sorry also about your job and hope you get that gym pass while looking for another 🤞x

Yeah I’ve really noticed the thinning this last couple of months, is not a side effect I had on my radar! 😬

Hopefully dropping dose a bit will help curb that as well as the nausea.

I checked out houmous - so it has protein, 2g per 2 tablespoons so not super high but still has some. Also iron, folate and the olive oil is anti inflammatory

Right, vit gummy taken and off now to chop some veg sticks and cook some lean chicken snaggers (even though don’t fancy them but doing it anyway 😂)

Thank you Polly. Yeah it's a third cheaper to have less hair and it's nice to be a bit more natural as well. I've told her I will have to have it all removed next time if I don't have a job by end of August so she's prepared as it's less income for her too.

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 27/06/2025 13:54

@Doggymummar Good luck with the job hunt (and hair regrowth)

tryingtobesogood · 05/07/2025 08:07

Good morning plodders. I have lost a very hard earned 1lb this week after my holiday break from MJ. I’m not upset as I stayed the same weight as pre holiday, which is good but glad to be back to it now. 4lb to go to get to 2 stone and the half way mark.

slow and steady wins the race (a tiny bit faster would be nice)

Doggymummar · 05/07/2025 08:13

That's brilliant, staying the same or losing on holiday is a win. I used to put on 10 Pound on two week holiday or Christmas break. I had a big lunch in a hotel yesterday and feel very over stuffed today so won't be weighing till I've managed the loo. Mid week I was half a pound down 👇

tryingtobesogood · 07/07/2025 11:10

I have such a long way to go. I feel so much better in myself, 24lb down, clothes fit better, don’t get out of breath, sleep better etc.

but such a long way to go. I’m nearly 1/3 of the way there and I know that a year ago I would have given anything to be here.

But there’s still so much to lose and it’s slow and … sigh

i know I will get there in the end.

StrikeForever · 07/07/2025 14:57

I find when the scales show a loss of half a kg or something, it then goes back up for about 5 days, before coming down again 🤷‍♀️ Does anyone else have this?

Angie7654 · 07/07/2025 15:12

@StrikeForeveryes that’s exactly how my weight loss has been for a year. A bit off then up a bit then down again. So long as it keeps going down I’m happy though

Me too, we’re going in the right direction. It’s just we see such regular straightforward losses - it’s nice to know it’s not just me 🙂

PinkSour · 07/07/2025 20:09

@tryingtobesogood I hear you! I'm at exactly the same point, a third off and such a long way to go. I've also massively stalled for like 2 months due to an incredibly stressful house move. Think I need to go up to 15mg which is also scary given it's the last step up I can do.

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 08/07/2025 07:28

@StrikeForever Yes! Gets to me every time.

@PinkSour I know what you mean. I’m on 12.5 and it still doesn’t seem to be doing anything much for me - 2lbs a month is a good month. Consequently I’m in month 7 and haven’t yet lost 1.5st. It’s sapping, tbh.

Doggymummar · 11/07/2025 08:12

Pound and a half this month, I think that's the worst so far. Still on less than 800 cals a day and still not a healthy BMI. But I know without it I would be gaining half a stone a month minimum, so on I plod.

Deadringer · 11/07/2025 15:36

I stayed the same on holiday so I am delighted! I didn't eat a massive amount, but ate whatever took my fancy, and had ice cream or lemonade most days without a thought for the calories. I had a lovely buffet breakfast every morning, which kept me going until dinner, and while I usually had a starter for dinner, it was yummy stuff like deep fried brie. The nights I had a main course I tried to be mindful of mostly eating protein but in general I just ate what I fancied and thoroughly enjoyed it! Was weird today going back to my staple breakfast of one slice of wholemeal toast when I have got used to bacon and eggs, a pastry and a sweet milky coffee but sure i can look forward to the next holiday.

Deadringer · 11/07/2025 15:39

I am sticking to 5mg for the 3rd month in a row, will keep plodding on hopefully at a a pound a week loss, if I stop losing weight I will move up then.

tryingtobesogood · 13/07/2025 10:40

morning everyone,
Well the pattern for me seems to be come on here, moan about not losing weight, think about giving up, despair and then drop a pound or two. So I guess you’re going to hear me moaning a bit more because every time I do I then lose weight.😂
