Hi,

Anyone on WLI and in the slow lane v. welcome here for a bit of plodding supportive chat!

Plodders, bobbers, plateau-ers, stallers and stuck ducks come on in! Would be great to chat with others who are in the same boat, ie travelling at the speed of snails on their WL journey.

I have a mountain to move (nearly 5 st), am not ready to give up on Mounjaro yet and would love a bit of company here on this long haul to reach a healthy BMI. 🦥 🐌 🏔️

Come join me if you have a long way to go (either due to slow losses or amount to lose) and would like some peer support to keep going when the scales are being stubborn. It’s hard being on WLI when it’s not working as well for you and progress is slow or stalled. This is a safe space to share anything, the good, the bad and the side effecty. Anything positive (scale or non scale related) as well as freedom to vent and grumble as much as you want

If you taking WLI and trucking along nicely or nearly at your goal weight that is fantastic but please post on a different thread.

I am starting my 3rd month on 5mg as I am going on holiday in a couple of weeks and I don't want to risk feeling crap. Repression is easing up but i am still watching what i eat and i feel great so hopefully i will keep losing, albeit at a plod. I am 15 pounds down in 3 months and still look the same, but i am hoping that last summer's clothes will be nice and loose on me.

Hey Plodders, curious if people are plodding at lower doses or also at the higher doses ? I’m finding it slightly more effective now I’m on 10 mg. And through some research have found that actually in trials and stuff- people tend to lose most weight on the higher doses ? Is that right ? I dillidoddled around at low doses as I had some bad side effects when I first started and maybe that’s why I have been plodding a bit and had some stalls.

I'm on 15mg and plodding. Not quite a pound a week

Splattsagain · 17/06/2025 21:05

I'm on 15mg and plodding too - started end of May last year, titrated up every pen as I didn't get suppression at all until 10mg, and am now 5 stone down. My lovely spreadsheet says my average is 1.3 a week over the last 10 weeks, so it's still working.

I've found that when I've plateaued, I have to change something to get started again. DH and I started Jo Wicks 3 times a week in Feb to get off a plateau, and a few weeks ago we added the treadmill 3 days a week as well - I'm basically doing week 2 of couch to 5K repeatedly. He's now at his target weight of course (the git!) while I have another 3.5 stone to go before I get to a healthy BMI.

I’d like to hear the answer to whether @leklo is finding a higher dose is giving better results. I’ve been going 6 months now and have only lost 1st 3lbs. I’m on 10mg, and definitely thinking of going to 12.5mg next month.

Hey ! Yes so usually I was losing around 1KG a month and since moving up to 10 mg, I lost 3 kg in a month.

also, I had a complete stall for a month before while I was on 7.5 mg.

Oooh! I need to go up to 12.5mg asap then. I’m still at a glacial less than 0.5lb a week - maybe it will click yet! 🤞

PlodAlongPolly · 18/06/2025 16:45

Yeah I feel the same! Hopefully the best is yet to come on the higher doses 🤞

I think definitely in trials, the most weight loss was achieved at the highest dose.

PlodAlongPolly · 18/06/2025 19:31

That would be great, even if it comes off v slowly it would be amazing to eventually arrive at a healthy bmi.

I wonder if the trial people combined it with exercise to get to their GW? I’m still falling down in that respect, but doing more walking and out & about stuff with the family since spring.

Ah have a lovely holiday @Deadringer yeah I felt the same (not a holiday but a few events coming up) and delayed moving up a dose, don’t think it impacted much as the pace remained plodding. Are you able to cool store your pen on holiday? Well done on the 15 pounds down, it might not show much yet but keep going and it won’t be long before it does! Here’s hoping those last summer clothes have a noticeably looser airy feel for you! :)

Deadringer · 18/06/2025 22:15

Thanks PlodAlongPolly. I am only going for a week so won't be taking my pen with me, too much hassle, I will just take it two days late when i get back.

PlodAlongPolly · 19/06/2025 09:02

Wow your journey is inspiring @Splattsagain ! 5 stone down is incredible, well done! 🌟 You must feel so different to when you started just over a year ago? The exercise will be helping too and the 1.3 lb per week is a good steady level. Do you find setting mini targets helps? I think it’s helped me motivate better than looking at the whole amount to lose

Stay cool plodders, going tb another scorcher today. Except for you @Doggymummar I wish you cozy snuggly warmth! 😁

Yeah that’s a good plan, saves the hassle travelling it there and back 👍

I found the little break away we had as a family in half term week was definitely helped by being on MJ compared to our last one a couple of years back, not having crashing hunger and temptation to over do the higher cal foods and drinks, or graze on ‘holiday’ snacks/ nibbles etc really helped I think. I didn’t lose but didn’t gain and we still ate out a few times and didn’t feel deprived so it was really nice :) didn’t have the post holiday guilt of having ‘over done it’ either. It has such a wonderful levelling affect this stuff

Deadringer · 19/06/2025 09:42

That's brilliant that you didn't gain, well done.

Whereissummer24 · 19/06/2025 11:27

Hi Plodders…. Can I join!! Week 13 here and 14lbs down. Am on 7.5 and just ticking along. Having lost weight really quickly before I’m happy with the slow loss as I’m hoping it’ll stick this time. Have about another 28 to go - have allowed myself a year to hit target with maybe another 6 months to taper after although the difference in how I feel is so big I wonder if I may end up microdosing long term

From everything I’ve read, exercise has almost no effect on weight loss. It’s great for general health, but it’s diet that impacts weight loss.

It is 48 degrees in the conservatory and I just said to the other half, what a pleasant day! He has the Aircon cranked up working in the office.m

Hi and welcome @Whereissummer24! 👋 Well done on the first stone done and dusted, how are you finding things at 7.5? Lovely to have you on board :)

There has been some interesting chat on other boards recently about when patents expire and the advent of generic WLI (to the same formula as MJ or Ozempic) which should drive the prices down and hopefully make longer term maintenance and options like microdosing more affordable.

Yeah I think this is true, whenever I’ve managed to lose weight before it’s always been from diet

Thank you! 7.5 seems to be the dose for me but I’ve not lost for the last 2 weeks - hoping it’s my body adjusting and I’ll get a drop soon.

PlodAlongPolly · 26/06/2025 18:37

Glad you’ve found a good dose and hope you get a drop soon @Whereissummer24 🤞

How’s everyone getting on?

I seem to have lost a lot of hair recently which is slightly freaking me out! Anyone else?

No scale budge here, ho hum, but feeling a bit fluid retentive atm (maybe the heat..)

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 26/06/2025 18:52

Apparently I put on 2lbs overnight this week. Obviously logic says that’s not possible but it’s still prickling malevolently at the back of my brain. So, still at total loss of 1st 3lbs in 6 months. Going up on Sunday, so 🤞

Sorry to hear about the hair @PlodAlongPolly - I can see why that would be concerning. I think I read that it can happen if you’re not getting the vitamins you need - time for some gummies?

tryingtobesogood · 26/06/2025 19:50

@PlodAlongPolly my hair is not what it was. I’m hoping it comes back when I stop MJ

@0ncemorewithfee1ing yep, I was 2lb heavier this morning than yesterday morning. I just shrugged my shoulders and moved on, it can be real. I’ve not lost for a bit, but I’ve also been on holiday so am trying to take a long view of it all. I went up to 7.5mg but felt so rubbish so have dropped back down again. I might try going up again next month.
