A pound or so weight loss per week is a very reasonable and healthy pace, we don't want to crash diet, lose muscle mass and get all saggy, after all.

discoballv · 07/03/2025 09:10

Did my second 5mg last night and woke up feeling vaguely nauseous and headachey but it's fine. It's just like a dull sicky feeling in the background. Hoping the scales move down a bit this week as I keep jumping between 10st 13 and 11st! Would like to be safely in the 10st bracket 😄

HeavyHeidi · 07/03/2025 09:11

same, I'm hovering juuuust below 70 kilos.
I really want to get to 67 next week. I haven't been able to get to below 68 for years.

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 07/03/2025 09:18

I’m wondering whether I want to continue, last night I was so ill, I felt a bit stupid, doing this to myself. If I hadn’t had the sulphur burps beforehand I’d have thought I had norovirus.

Luckily I was at home but it would have been mortifying to have had that situation happen anywhere else.

Jins · 07/03/2025 09:45

I’ve been so lucky with side effects. I really feel for those suffering.

Week 8 complete and 1.2lbs lost taking my total to 11.4lbs lost. My weekly average is 1.4lbs so I’m very pleased with that

SW - 11st 5. BMI 28.2
CW - 10st 7.6 BMI 26.1
GW - 9st BMI 22.3

Grecianrainbow · 07/03/2025 10:47

Wk 10 for me. Second jab of 5mg from this pen.

SW 14st 7.5lb
CW 13st 6 (-1.5)loss (- 1st 1.5lb total)
GW 10st

Steady 1.5 lb off again this week. I haven’t had many side effects either. I can’t remember if I posted about it before but I have PCOS and family history of diabetes type 2 so I’m thinking I may need a maintenance plan for insulin resistance help.
I’ve a long way to go until then though

Boohoo76 · 07/03/2025 10:49

Yesterday I had a full medical (it’s a benefit that my employer provides). For the first time in almost 20 years my cholesterol wasn’t high. I must point out that for quite a lot of those 20 years I wasn’t overweight but I still had high cholesterol. Not high enough for statins but still above what it should be.

Whilst I am still overweight, I am almost a stone less than I was in mid January when I started Mounjaro. So the fact that my cholesterol has reduced despite still being overweight seems miraculous. A Mounjaro miracle.

Interstingly the skin condition that I have been battling with for years has also subsided over the past few weeks. I haven’t used my dermatologist prescribed cream in over a week.

Therealmetherealme · 07/03/2025 11:24

@Boohoo76 that's great news.

sociallydistained · 07/03/2025 12:31

Did my bonus dose of 5 last night. Had a fairly large portion of Spag Bol (measured spaghetti) at 6.30 and jab at 9. Felt so sick in the night and this morning. It was a silly thing to do but felt hungry 😂

I've got another 5 pen and a 7.5 pen in the fridge but I'm staying on 5 for as long as I feel it's working. I don't think I'm going to weigh this week as I'm due on and I think it'll make me feel crap. Feeling a bit bloated but it's been a fairly good week. I've been so consistent with my exercise even adding in a day to my routine this week. I had to have a word with myself today when I was still not liking the shape of my legs etc that it's been 10 weeks that's it and by the time it's my holiday in July I could see some real changes if I stay consistent like I am! That pushed me to do todays workout and steps 😂

It's nice to have this tool that I know is going to help me with consistent progress whereas at this point I'd be binging and all sorts and back to square one. The fact I know it stops all that is helping me focus.
For reference I went to the gym 2-3 times a week last year with little progress because I just out ate everything!!

zazas · 07/03/2025 14:44

So I'm in week 9 (week 5 doing 3.75 out of the 5mg pen) and what a rollercoaster of a journey it is at times isn't it! First off the good news (and what we are here for!) I've had a 5kg loss so far (a third of the way to the end goal) but gosh the side effects take some committing to. After having a great week last week - where for the first time I didn't feel rough, constantly cold, nauseous, tired and juggling V&D - I felt refreshingly normal. I honestly thought I had 'cracked it' and was happy with still having good suppression... This week - back to all the previous side effects! Yuck! Although the suppression is intense. Grateful the scales at least are moving in the right direction but I did really, really like feeling 'normal!' Certainly will think twice before I hit the 5mg dose. Enjoy reading about everyone else's experiences - it does help with understanding that there are many variations of what is a 'normal response'.

MananaMananaPenelope · 07/03/2025 16:32

@MJalltheway thank you, that’s very kind of you.

I’ve already ordered some. I just went for a bag of the chocolate flavour. I hope I think it’s edible, I went for chocolate as I wondered if I might be able to add a teaspoon of organic cocoa powder, which is very bitter, at 19 calories, if it is too sweet for me.

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 07/03/2025 16:54

Well, after last night's horror show I braved the scales and I've lost 3.5lb, ha ha. That's on a new set of scales, so I suspect it's a combo of being horribly sick and the new ones measuring slightly differently.

That takes me to a loss of 14.5 lb!! Getting over the stone mark feels great.

MJalltheway · 07/03/2025 17:03

Well done @IBloodyLoveMyBlanket ! Although hoping for a less sicky way of losing for you next week!

im after some ideas for lunches, im feeling very devoid of inspiration. Im doing IF so lunch is the first thing i eat and i try and have something reasonably protein-y. I seem to be stuck having the same thing - 2 eggs scrambled, some streaky bacon, a slice of whole grain bread and lots of tomatoes and cucumber. I worry about the amount of bacon I'm eating! I'm basically happy with everything else but want something else to alternate with the bacon. If I don't have some sort of additional protein, the Voy meal analyser tells me off 😆 any ideas?

JoanCollinsDiva · 07/03/2025 17:20

Well done on the losses everyone!

I was v surprised to have lost another 4lbs at this mornings weekly weigh in. I just felt like I hadn't lost anything this week for some reason, I was quite hungry on mon/tues and ate more.
Start of week 8:
SW: 13.6
CW: 11.13
GW: 11 stone ish

Happy to be in the 11's! I'm thinking I may want to go to 10.7 ish but I'm going to see how my face looks first 😆

I'm going out to eat at our fave Greek place later which I'm looking forward to and then to watch the new Bridget Jones - I believe it's pretty bad but it's something to do!

Smoked salmon instead of bacon? Or turkey rashers? Not sure if they have just as much nitrates.
I put collagen in my coffee and that adds another 5g of protein to my breakfast.

You could add cottage cheese into your scrambled egg?

I need dinner ideas. DH is feeding kids, I said I'll make my own. But suppression is suppressing today and I have no interest in any food whatsoever.

Zempy · 07/03/2025 17:56

Just completed week 8. Will inject late tonight and so in my head week 9 starts tomorrow. I did 4 x 2.5, bonus, and tonight I will take fourth 5mg. Will do bonus dose next week and then decide whether I want to go up to 7.5 or stay at 5.

I have minimal side effects. Freezing cold, some burps but not sulphurous, constipation. Suppression seems good but loss has become slower. I eat between 800 and 1000 calories a day and am losing about 1 pound a week now.

SW: 13 st 7
CW: 11 st 12.

So thrilled with the eleven!!

I am going out tonight for dinner, and am worried about injecting before I eat a “proper “ meal. Hoping I won’t be too tired to do it when I get back tonight!! Not drinking though as it really makes me depressed since being on MJ.

Hope everyone is a loser this weekend!

MananaMananaPenelope · 07/03/2025 18:18

@MJalltheway , I like poached chicken, I poach either the crown or half a chicken in my instant pot which takes about 30 minutes, not every week, but maybe twice a month. Let it go cold, skim the fat off and use the stock in something and take all the meat off the bones, putting it in the fridge in a container, DC use it for sandwiches, I eat it in a wrap or with veg, puy lentils or salad.

Bear2014 · 07/03/2025 18:26

Congrats to everyone for amazing losses!

I'm on week 3 of my 5mg pen but my first 5mg dose as I did one week at 3.75 and one at 4.3. The suppression is really strong and I still feel full from my lunch now! Thankfully still not really any other side effects.

For breakfast I've mostly been having Greek or Skyr yogurts with a bit of granola and a few berries added to the top of the pot

For lunches I've been leaning into soups a lot as it's been so cold. Either vegetable or chicken. Or vegetable cous cous, or a Pret wrap/flatbread if I'm in the office. I want to try some egg white omlettes when my new kitchen is finished next week.

For dinners, chicken or salmon with rice/veg or a vegetable curry, or wholemeal pasta with roasted veg etc. I haven't been able to finish anything this week though.

BreezyPeer · 07/03/2025 18:34

@MananaMananaPenelope @RonMJ this is what I love about this supportive group! You have to SCREW the needle off!! I am definitely going to try that next week. Thank you for your help

discoballv · 07/03/2025 18:51

I am W7 D1 and was just thinking 'why do I feel SO dreadful?!' and then realised I've not eaten all day 😱

I had a black coffee this morning, then was out for an appointment over lunch time, finished work at 5 and did a load of cleaning and fed ddog then before I knew it, it was 6.30. I've just had a couple of slices of toast with pesto and two fried eggs and feel much better.

Chicken noodle soup is my go to when I’m not feeling it.
Boil chicken stock, poach chicken, add frozen veg, add wholewheat noodles. Then these flavourings to suit: soy sauce, fish sauce, chili, sesame oil, chopped spring onions.

ah yes soup is a good idea. will do some tomorrow.

myladyjane · 07/03/2025 20:15

Hello lovely losers.

Not weighed yet due to period but after yesterdays pen fiasco something definitely went in as I've been a bit off all day. Only ate because I felt dizzy, couldnt finish a banana etc.

I do have a huge craving for a curry but not a bad one, just some spicy spinach and tandoori prawns. Fam have deserted me however so I fear it may be a bagel for tea.

I popped into a couple of shops yesterday and the size 18 joggers were definitely too big and the size 16 T-shirts fit well so I am clearly losing something somewhere so I thought I'd measure myself. My hips see to be an inch bigger! And my waist only an inch smaller. Ah well.

MJalltheway · 07/03/2025 20:17

I don't think I've ever poached chicken in my life! How do you do it in the instant pot?
Smoked salmon is a good idea.
