Blimey - I've had a few days off reading these threads and @Blondeshavemorefun opens a new one with a pic of an elephants penis! 😂😂

I've lost an average 2 year old (not literally obvs - mine are older now!) so well pleased with that.

Off to read the rest of the thread now !

@NippyNinjaCrab just re-reading, and you say you've swapped to full fat yogurt and milk. Can I ask why please, as it's sort of contradictory to what I've been told in the past? Thank you

I chose it mainly because of bone health in peri menopause. It's also more filling and keeps you full for longer because of the fat content. I always remember my PT telling our group choose full fat, especially yogurts for the nutrients dense vitamins and low fat tends to have additives to replace the flavour full fat does. Whether that's 100% accurate I've not idea but I've always stuck to it with milk yoghurt and cheese. She ran a group once called The Wee Red Dress and it was fab for educating us in food nutrients and how to eat clean. A lot of it has stuck with me, especially the sugar addiction section and how much is added to foods. We were advised, if it didn't swim, run, fly, grow from the ground or be picked from a bush or tree we shouldn't automatically eat it.
I'm always wary of saying these things out loud because it was a long time ago and I'm probably repeating it like a Chinese whisper. X

NippyNinjaCrab · 11/02/2025 18:08

Oh no @poppym12 that's rubbish, you should banish him!

PoemsForTea · 11/02/2025 18:30

I'm the same - full fat for yoghurt a
and proper butter, I just eat less of it and enjoy the taste more. It keeps me fuller for longer.
Occasionally I use half fat cheddar but that's cos I'm from Somerset and bloody love it far too much 😆
I've got Liver and bacon for tea as was craving it! Luckily my weirdo 17 yr old daughter had always loved liver - Hubby won't touch it!😆 Will have it with a little baked sweet potato and veg.
Jab day tomorrow so have the room!!

PoemsForTea · 11/02/2025 18:36

To live up to my name I'd like to share this poem with you all. A few people having a wibble and some difficult moments.

Our weight , our age, our looks dont define us.

The way complete strangers have bonded here and offered support and care with no agenda - thats what defines us ❤️

@PoemsForTea i love this thank you for posting! It would be fab on a canvas xxx

WitchDancer · 11/02/2025 18:50

That's interesting @NippyNinjaCrab, thank you for explaining. I do sometimes wonder if I'm getting enough calcium since I moved to peppermint tea, so it might be worth considering for future yogurt purchases.

That's a really lovely poem @PoemsForTea thank you for throwing that out when we needed that Flowers

Thanks @Blondeshavemorefun. No chance of me going over calories at the moment as I can't swallow (am sucking lots of boiled sweets instead).

owlyboo · 11/02/2025 20:39

@weaselyeyes everyone looks like a serial killer in their passport photo!

@Azuresky68 69! Weyhey! It's fabulous you've lost all the weight to go into your 70s your body will definitely thank you for it I'm sure! Well done for switching phone off at 5pm!!

NippyNinjaCrab · 11/02/2025 20:53

Let's celebrate all our birthdays 🎂 🥳

I'm also signing off now and making my cut off 9pm. I'm also going to keep off my phone social media wise until I sit down for lunch, will I manage it? A day at all time. I don't actually look at MN as social media especially our wee community. I do read the news in the morning so I'm going to switch to having it on TV while having coffee. I do think MN is my scrolly vice haha.

Night night sleep super well 😴

Motnight · 12/02/2025 07:16

Did someone say 🍰?!

Lost 2 lbs this week. Very happy with that. Also after rummaging through my underwear drawers found another 3 bras that now fit. I now have more bras that I can actually wear than I have ever previously had!

Happy Wednesday everyone.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/02/2025 07:55

Yah. Well done @Motnight

weaselyeyes · 12/02/2025 09:39

Good news, @Motnight ! A surfeit of bras is also to be celebrated 😀

Azuresky68 · 12/02/2025 09:58

Great news @Motnight 👏

Azuresky68 · 12/02/2025 10:05

@NippyNinjaCrab I have to confess I did go back a few times but didn't spend ages on it. Well done for switching off at 9 pm. A very clever scientist friend of mine who specialises in anti ageing and fat loss has talked to me about external factors that can affect our weight loss and sleep. She said one of the worst things is the blue light from phones so we should switch off at least a couple of hours before sleep. Even though I know that, I find it so hard to do, but going to try again. You can set targets on phone to alert you how long you have used it for on each app. It's scary to see how much I use mine.

Azuresky68 · 12/02/2025 10:20

Adding to the discussion on low fat v normal/high fat there's been loads of research and TV/Radio programmes saying that low fat food isn't good. It was a huge surprise after years on SW and WW but the science makes sense. I still use skimmed milk and low fat Greek yoghurt to keep my calories down though.

Azuresky68 · 12/02/2025 10:28

I had a sneaky weigh in and am now at my target of 9 stone...this has motivated me to continue for next 3 weeks and I would be happy to lose 3 more pounds to be at the top of my healthy BMI. Originally I thought under 9 stone would make me look gaunt but I have a round face so I am going to go for it 😀

Azuresky68 · 12/02/2025 10:35

@NippyNinjaCrab MN is also where I spend an hour or so a day but mainly on our thread as it's helped me so much. I am pretty much a lady of leisure these days and don't rush to do anything in the mornings. After 11 am I spring into action!
Have a great day everyone and I will check in at the end of the day 😀
