Just starting week 8.

SW: 13 stone 7
CW: 11 stone 13.

Obviously THRILLED to be seeing a number 11 on the scales.

I have a manic week so not injecting til Friday night, should have been last night. My suppression is still significant so not expecting any issues. I am going to collapse in a heap at the weekend.

Well, whatever I got wrong with the jab this morning, I now have a bright purple bruise! How weird.

I find that’s utterly random.

Oooh, it’s possible I’m having my first side effect. I’m sitting at my desk in the office, wondering if I might throw up and feeling shivery and jittery.

Having said that, I got about 4 hours sleep last night (due to waking from a nightmare I couldn’t shake off) and had a large coffee to try and keep myself awake. I am not normally particularly susceptible to caffeine to the extent that it gives me negative effects.

I’m also halfway through my second dose of 5 - seems like an odd point for side effects to kick in.

Anyone got any words of wisdom, please?

That sounds like low blood sugar? Maybe get some glucose tablets and in the meantime have something sugary.

@Saggyknickers the bottom end of the healthy BMI for me is 7.5 stone! I’ve been there once as an adult on the heartbreak diet and I looked and felt awful.

My arse alone probably weighs 7.5 stone!

discoballv

Try the ones I've mentioned - Iron, vit D and B12 are the ones recommended for low energy. I've only been taking them for about a week so bit early to say yet. They're all by Nutrigeeks from Amazon and were about £10 each for a one year supply so good value I thought.

It must be when you hit a capillary or something - has happened to me too.

Well done Zempy the 11's? woohoo!

Thank you, I will give them a try. My DH buys their supplements and really rates them too!

Would that explain why the plunger was hard to push and it left a lump?

It left a lump? Hmm, I'm not sure - did it disappear? If so I'd say that's probably just the fluid gathering under the skin before it dissipates. Also, make sure you don't inject near any stretch marks or scars.

Ive just googled this: It can happen when the needle nicks one of the thousands of tiny blood vessels in our body, resulting in minor bleeding under the skin. Even if you visit the most talented and experienced injector in the world, you can still get a bruise because these microscopic capillaries are invisible to the human eye.

So long as the lump went down I wouldn't worry.

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 26/02/2025 15:21

Yes, the lump went down. I panicked and pressed it!

@myladyjane I hope you’re feeling a bit better this evening. It’s really tough being a 🐢. I am have any wise words, I think we all hear you and some of us get it. This is the right thread for understanding, sympathy and solidarity 💐.

I’ve been better at drinking today. I’ve never taken electrolytes until a couple of weeks ago, I’m sure they make a difference to feeling thirsty.

Upperroom · 26/02/2025 18:25

@myladyjane I hope you’re feeling better too. I think you’ll have a big loss next week. Just ignore this one.

so I’m wk6 day 3 on my second 5mg and I’m not feeling too good…. Like a low level sick bug (thank fully haven’t been sick though). Quite annoying as I had to give a presentation today but some how managed. Considering dropping down next week?! 😟

I’ve not been able to stomach anything today and only managed a tiny dinner last night - I’ve had a bit of D…

I think someone else was finding that on the 2nd week of 5mg?

Upperroom · 26/02/2025 18:26

Sorry, can’t write very well due to feeling unwell and currently on the train

Sorry you are feeling unwell. I am feeling a bit iffy too. I was due to take my first 5mg tomorrow after doing my 'bonus dose' of 3.1mg but have felt so off the past couple of days, so I'm considering counting clicks to do 3.75 instead. Well done on getting through your presentation though!!

MJalltheway · 26/02/2025 19:49

@Upperroom hope you are home now, it's the worst when you are feeling sick on a train. I'm only on week 1 of 5 but have definitely had upset stomach the last 2 days, have to keep rushing to the toilet.
My weird illness yesterday passed really quickly so have been back at work.
I've been feeling very positive about everything. I wonder if it makes a difference that I'm way past menopause, it really seems to impact the hormones.

Upperroom · 26/02/2025 20:02

home now! Good to hear @MJalltheway that it passed quickly… I’ve read somewhere that others don’t do so well on 5mg but do better on 7.5mg?! Not sure how that works?! Not sure whether I should try and eat… 🫤

myladyjane · 26/02/2025 20:02

Thank you all for the cuddles. Was very very much appreciated.

Someone asked what dose I am on - did 3.75 last week and felt good suppression, no food noise. Even today (when I'm due to jab tomorrow night), have felt fine/stopped when I'm full/no food noise so that kind of feels right to be honest. If I was struggling to stay in calories I'd definitely move up but I'm not.

I am another fan of nutrigeek products. They do an excellent magnesium with 3 different types.

Upperroom · 26/02/2025 20:04

Oddly I’m craving crisps… probably the salt - but I darent - they’re my nemesis!

Jins · 26/02/2025 20:16

@myladyjane have a think about moving to 5mg.

On my Shotsy graph the sludgey dots are 2.5mg, green was the bonus dose (3.3) and purple is 5mg. The bonus dose did very little but 5mg has kicked things off nicely. Still less than 10lbs in nearly 7 weeks but a definite move in the right direction

January 2025 Starters Thread 4 Let's lose some more!
DGonMJ · 26/02/2025 20:21

We need a new thread! Let me see if I can figure it out on my phone…

meatyryvita · 27/02/2025 09:33

Week 5, day 1 - only lost .5lb this week. Surprising but still on the right trajectory I suppose. First day of 5 mg too, so I'll see how I respond to that.

SW: 15st 10lbs
CW: 14st 8lbs
GW: 9st 10lbs

Total loss so far 16lbs

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 27/02/2025 10:09

@meatyryvita come join us on the new thread linked above your post, we'll run out of space here very soon.....

Supercompetitivesibling · 27/02/2025 22:38

Hi everyone, can I join?

I started in Jan, will be the start of my 9th week tomorrow.
SW was 94.2kg
CW is 82.2kg
GW is 65kg
I'm moving from 2.5mg to 5mg tomorrow because it feels like the suppression is wearing off sooner on the 2.5 and I'm finding myself snacking more again, which makes me sad because I thought I was making progress breaking my bad habits but the moment the MJ wears off I'm back in the snack box.
I'm really hoping that the 5 works as well for me for the rest of my journey, as I'm not even halfway to my goal yet.
