You will get there @broccolini !! It’s all relative isn’t it? I don’t suit a lot of summer clothes, I’m best in summery tunic style dresses (shorts look horrendous on me) and last summer it was so uncomfortable - the thigh rub! I’ll never have a really defined waist (inverted triangle/apple ish) but when I was early 20s and around 9.7 st clothes were so much easier! Although I am now old so it might be different! 43 in a few weeks.

@Upperroom we have very similar stats...👍

I think there are a few of us with very similar stats 🙂

Did my first 5mg jab on Friday and so far so good, no particular side effects. I've been eating as normal over the weekend (normal for MJ) but haven't been able to finish my lunch today for the first time.
we went out for Sunday lunch yesterday so had a huge plate of food then, but then didn't eat anything else for the day.
down to 95.2kg this morning (SW 101) so inching towards my first stone off. 5.5cm off my waist so far. Very long way to go!

@cloudjumper I've just got my bonus dose from my 5mg pen to go when I get back and then I’ve got a 7.5 in the fridge. I’m figuring that I’ll probably get a bit more than 0.6ml for the bonus dose so will see how that goes and then make a decision as to whether to go straight up to 7.5 or count clicks.

I'm another one that did C25k and didn’t lose any weight. Also wasn’t good for my poor knees! Have since had another injury that would make running very difficult 😥

Hi guys. Great to hear your journeys and how you're doing.

I also used to love running. I'd happily run 10k most weekends but sore knees (and lockdown) meant I lost my mojo. Now I Spin and yoga, but I have been going through a lazy spell. I'm an all or nothing kinda girl! Loving the inspiration coming from this thread though and I'm going to get back to it. Thanks for the butt kick 🦵 😊

A fellow 7.5mg in the fridge too! Used the extra dose in my 5mg pen yesterday. Worked out just shy of 6mg. Pleased I managed not to get a massive bruise from the insulin needle this time - no idea how I got it so wrong last cycle! Today no side effects and feeling well. Like you guys I'm trying to decide if I go up to 7.5mg next week or count clicks for approx 6mg. Has anyone taken the plunge with 7.5mg yet?

Lost approx stone on 2.5mg and half stone on 5mg. Hoping the next pen is a magic one and I lose two stone in a month... <Dreams a little dream!>

Have a great day all 🖐

HeavyHeidi · 24/02/2025 13:49

my shot day is Thursday and for now, the 2.5 bonus dose still works well. If I lose at least a kilo this week, may continue with another 2.5 pen.

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 24/02/2025 14:18

Wednesday's first dose of 5mg can't come soon enough, it's like Hungry Hippos in my house at the moment, if it's edible, I'm eating it.

I'm going to stay off the scales for a little while, I need to be confident they'll show a loss.

TicTac80 · 24/02/2025 14:45

All the posts on exercise motivated me (so thank you guys), I got on the exercise bike again today and did 30mins. I did think about doing a super early morning exercise bike sesh but I got spooked as it was still dark outside (pathetic I know) and the treadmill/bike are in my shed/summer house.

This is stupid as I see people out running when I’m driving (in the dark) to/from work, so why would some crazed homicidal maniac bogeyman target me in my bloody shed/summer house? There are tools in there so plenty of things I can use to fend off any creeps, and there are lights and cctv around the place. I think I’m just making excuses not to get out of my warm bed really, aren’t I?

UnderandOverwhelmed · 24/02/2025 15:34

I've had a little victory today. I ordered a pair of jeans on Ebay in a size 14, I have the same pair in a 16 and as they are quite stretchy thought I might soon be able to go to a 14. The buyer sent me the wrong ones, different brand, not stretchy, but I could do them up! They were too tight to be comfortable sitting down, but I didn't think I'd be a "normal" non stretchy 14 for a long while yet.

Week 7 and jab day. Had my third dose of 5mg this morning. So far still feeling good and starting to contemplate possible moving up? But suppression is so good on 5 not sure I will need to 🙌 total lost is 19.6 lbs so far. Really enjoying the gym as well. Hoping I continue to see results. Very pleased! X

@UnderandOverwhelmed great news 👏

One of my goals with losing this weight is to get back into jeans

Thiscouldbefun · 24/02/2025 19:39

I chickened out from taking full 5mg dose and went for 3.75mg which is probably good as struggled to manage 1000 calories yesterday and today.

Saw some lovely jeans in Sainsbury’s at the weekend and they were only available in a 16 (size down) and I bought them in hope I can get in before end of March. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

CurlsandCurves · 24/02/2025 19:58

I did c25k a few years ago. Completed it, but it confirmed I do not like running. Ike @HeavyHeidi i love lifting weights, big heavy ones. Makes me feel like such a badass, lol.

Ive got my bonus dose to take tomorrow. Not sure how much I’ve got left in there but am I right in thinking 0.6 is a full 2.5 dose, and around the 0.8 mark will be about 3.75 ish, so a good midway point to step up to 5 mg net week?

I’ve just ordered my 7.5mg dose. I’ve been going back and forth between sticking at 5 or going up to 7.5.

NSV
got into my outdoor trousers that I bought in 2023 before I ballooned.

MJalltheway · 24/02/2025 20:11

Urgh suddenly started to feel pretty rough this evening. Made a lovely rocket, avocado, pesto and burrata salad and couldn't finish it. Very cold and shivery, feeling very fluey and headachey. Hoping that it's a random side effect and not a sign I'm coming down with something!

BlueLimes · 24/02/2025 20:12

I’m feeling a bit fed up (hungry up?!).
I’m week 2 of 5mg and very little suppression, we were also away for a few days and although I stayed under 2000 calories, I think I’ve gained (weigh on Tuesdays).
I started 6 weeks ago, and 12lbs off to date but I could do that without the jabs.
sorry for the moan,

supafish · 24/02/2025 20:36

Hi all , I'm 6 weeks in and have lost 13 pounds so far. Have taken 2 lots of my 5 mg pen . I have done zero excercise. I find I've not got any energy or I feel too cold to do anything . I'm happy with my weight loss , but do wonder if I should have more energy. I feel tired a lot . I eat well and have good restriction, I have no problem keeping to what I meant to eat and no food noise which is a revelation to me !
Is anyone else just doing the jab and not moving much ?

I hate running, probably because I’ve never been able to run. My 100m record is 50m 😆

DH was a big fan of running but it took its toll on him and he’s had to have both ankles fused as there’s no cartilage left in a couple of places.

Swimming though! I could swim for hours. Sadly our local pool is closed for renovation and I haven’t found an alternative one that I like in a reasonable distance. Even the local one had its problems with lane swimming. So walking is my only real option at the moment as I’m not a gym person.

Nothing untoward to report after yesterday’s buffet challenge but it did sit heavily for the evening.

Have you ever tried outdoor swimming? I’ve only done it twice but it was glorious.

I hate being cold though and Mounjaro certainly doesn’t help with that!

sorry for the moan,

I'm a few days behind you and have also lost roughly 12lbs, I thought that was pretty good going! 1-2lbs a week is the best rate of loss to minimise side effects like gall bladder issues.
stick with it, the 'most effective' dose isn't until you get to 12.5mg I think, so this is the very start of quite a long journey.

Sorry to hear you’re finding it tough. They do say the slower the better for losing term loss. Are you close to your goal?

HeavyHeidi · 24/02/2025 20:49

*KrankySchwester *I was putting my clothes ready for tomorrow and thought that oh, those trousers that are too small would go nicely with this top, let's try how small they still are. They fit! Not only fit, but fit comfortably.

HeavyHeidi · 24/02/2025 20:50

@BlueLimes that's a very good loss! And I hope you are at least finding it easier? I think most of us have lost weight repeatedly before as well, but the difference at least for me this time is that it's not a massive effort.
