I’ve taken my third dose of 5mg tonight (around 6.30pm) and usually I feel the suppression within the hour. Tonight I’ve gone to bed hungry- I’ve not been hungry since the end of my 2.5mg pen… I wanted to stay another month on 5mg so I’ll have to watch my symptoms carefully this week to see how I feel. Weigh day tomorrow…

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 25/02/2025 22:07

@MananaMananaPenelope that’s really not helpful of your doctor. It’s not as if you’ve just jumped into this heedlessly. I’d take what he said with a huge pinch of salt.

I’m seeing my specialist dr in mid March and will she what he/she (you never know who you’re going to get) says. I’m expecting them to be supportive about me losing weight. Attempting to, anyway!

MummyInTheNecropolis · 25/02/2025 22:31

@LillethCrane I’m in the same position, I took my 3rd 5mg dose on Thursday and I’ve definitely felt less suppression this week and I’m finding myself thinking about food a lot more. Was planning to do another month on 5mg but now think I will have to go up to 7.5.

Grecianrainbow · 25/02/2025 22:41

I’ve got my next month at 5mg, so will have done one at 2.5 and two at 5. Hopefully that will still be a good dose for me to stick with it or I’ll move up to 7.5 next time.

MananaMananaPenelope · 26/02/2025 06:20

@0ncemorewithfee1ing , this was an endocrinologist 😳😳😳. Anyway I’m a grown up and have made a decision that I think is right for me.

kmreeve · 26/02/2025 06:32

Morning, I have slacked on keeping up with the thread this past week.. I’ll be sitting down later to read through everything!

sw:16.11
cw: 14.13
total loss in 6 weeks : 1 stone 12lbs

I lost 2lbs this week and I made it into a new stone bracket! second week of 5mg coming up.

side effect.. the day after jab day was intense nausea, brought on I suspect by hunger but at the same time the thought of eating made me sick. Luckily it only lasted about 24 hours and then manageable. Zero food noise and suppression lasted the full week really, it got less for sure but still there.

I moved my jab to Monday from Tuesday, I feel this day suits me better.

iv gone back to jabbing in my thigh, felt overall a better spot for me, ill only do tummy if effects start to decrease as I think that give it a boost for me, but side effects stronger - so its a balance.

Therealmetherealme · 26/02/2025 06:35

Morning all.

I seem to be bombared on SM at the minute with people saying they gained weight, large amounts, as soon as they stopped the jab which has got me thinking. Does anyone know what MedExpress do when your BMI hits 30? I've looked at Oushk so may move. A BMI of 30 puts me, well most of us I guess, at least 2 stone above my goal.

Another question with Med Express, if I buy using credit on my account, can I still price match??

LillethCrane · 26/02/2025 06:40

@MummyInTheNecropolis have you still been losing despite the lack of suppression?

I’ve weighed in this morning and have maintained since last week. I’m frustrated because that’s two maintains since starting, but both were at the end of my period so perhaps that’s the pattern I’ll see. Also, I’m a bit surprised as I felt like I’d lost this week.

Oh well, let’s see how this week goes and I’ll make my decision on which pen to order.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 26/02/2025 06:51

@LillethCrane tomorrow is my weigh day but it’s not looking likely I will lose anything this week which is disappointing as I haven’t actually given in to the urges and despite a meal our at the weekend I have stuck to my calorie deficit - in fact I’ve been well under it most days.

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 26/02/2025 07:22

@Therealmetherealme
I have just moved from MedEx to Oushk, with a BMI of 27. something.
MedEx will continue to prescribe down to BMI 23 I think? They won't cut you off at 30 so don't worry about that.
RE the credit and price match, I have no idea. I had three lots of credit to get my 7.5mg pen, so didn't even think about price matching too.

AuntiePushpa · 26/02/2025 07:51

How are people doing in terms of getting their fibre in? Things I used to eat with fibre are more carby than I like to eat on the injections. I suppose there's fruit (skin primarily) but I don't know if that's enough really

stilllovingmysleep · 26/02/2025 07:54

Hi all, doing good here, now on 5 mg and total loss from when I started on January a10th about 6 kgs plus. I am pleased as it's slow and feels more sustainable. Current BMI is 26.9, I started at 29 (elevated lipids / cholesterol)

Quick question. What do most pharmacies do about maintainance? I am aware that cloud and Oushk have specified maintenance plans but what about the others? If / when I reach maintenance weight I predict I'll probably need a month on / 2 months off kind of plan so wondering what they say? I'm currently on chemist 4U and they've been fine

HeavyHeidi · 26/02/2025 07:55

@AuntiePushpa I add chia seeds to my yogurts, also psyllium husks if needed.

HeavyHeidi · 26/02/2025 07:57

I'm wondering about maintenance as well, I really see myself needing at least a slow dose probably for life.

LillethCrane · 26/02/2025 08:05

@AuntiePushpa I bought some fibre gummies from Wellgard (was influenced by TikTok😳) and they are so sweet I can’t eat them so I need some suggestions too.

AuntiePushpa · 26/02/2025 08:05

HeavyHeidi · 26/02/2025 07:55

@AuntiePushpa I add chia seeds to my yogurts, also psyllium husks if needed.

Thank you! Those are both exotic untasted ingredients for me but I am obviously not adventurous enough with my diet and should try them out

Grecianrainbow · 26/02/2025 08:05

Menstrual cycle symptom this morning, Started my period 3 days early, haven’t had that before, so will keep track of next month with interest.

NikkiC1975 · 26/02/2025 08:07

Morning all. I’m looking for some advice for travelling with my MJ pen.

Am off to South America and due to take doses 3 & 4. Once opened I usually just store my pen at room temp so was planning on just taking it and needles in a standard / non cooling travel box as I’m not sure all of the hotel rooms have fridges although will be air conditioned.

Will that be ok? Thoughts or suggestions please?

Therealmetherealme · 26/02/2025 08:18

@AuntiePushpa I use this occasionally for fibre, it dissolves in drinks (needs a stir sometimes) and is completely tasteless. I use it daily for my son to help his stools firm up.

HeavyHeidi · 26/02/2025 08:26

@NikkiC1975 Ely Lilly says on the website that after first use, patients may store their pen at room temperature up to 30 °C and dispose of it after 30 days. So for the pen you're using, room temperature is fine.

But unused should be in the fridge. So if you are going to be away for more than 30 days, that may be a challenge with the 2nd pen. Also, are you planning to travel around, with your luggage maybe outside in warmer temperatures for a longer period? If that's the case, I think I would get one of those self-cooling bags I've seen advertised.

HeavyHeidi · 26/02/2025 08:31

@MananaMananaPenelope sorry to hear your consultant has been no help. Pretty sure most of us know more about potential side effects of mj than doctors who have not even read the leaftlet. So what did he suggest you should do? Oh, let me guess, 'just eat less'?

myladyjane · 26/02/2025 08:44

Could I ask for a bit of a cuddle this morning :(

Am feeling very blue - after what I thought had been a really good week, I lost a massive 0.8lb. Given I lost nothing last week I am feeling this is all a bit pointless tbh.

I am wk 6 day 5 and have lost 12.5lb in total but 6 was in week 1 so water weight. My bmi is about 37 so I've got loads to lose.

I am consistently eating less than 1300 cals, usually under 1200 and that's fine - I am not finding it hard. Drinking ok. Probably not moving as much as I should tbh but I doubt that's the reason.

I am a hormonal mess (it's still not here) so dh thinks it may be that. And I get it's a process/slow and steady etc but I doubt that's need to see something positive :(

myladyjane · 26/02/2025 08:45

Should say just need not doubt need - that makes no sense.

I'm having a little cry right now.

UnderandOverwhelmed · 26/02/2025 08:46

Day one of week 9 and I've stuck to a lower dose than the full 5mg. I did 53 clicks today, which 4.4 ish. 3lbs off this week, I think it should be more but I haven't had a bm for quite a few days.

I can't wait to break that 200lb barrier, then I'll feel I'm really on my way I think.

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 26/02/2025 08:46

Very strange jab for me this morning, the plunger was very hard to push. I also stupidly forgot to count to 5 before taking the needle out. And I got a lump at the injection site.
