@Whoknowsnotmeshrug I am a BIG fan of outdoor swimming. The best stress reliever and I swim (slowly) for an hour totally at peace with the world watching herons on the bank and people doing paddle boarding yoga. I am very lucky that we have a designated water sports lake which has excellent water quality, designated swim area, good facilities and costs the same as going to the leisure centre. I 100% recommend.

@supafish I am not moving to the level I should do. I have generally increased my steps but not yet got into the rhythm of regular proper exercise. Find it way harder than the food tbh.

@CurlsandCurves I did the bonus dose at about 3 but moved up to 3.75 this week on my 5 pen. Loving it so far - no symptoms, no food noise and good suppression without it being too difficult. I try to stay around 1200 cals and have done that with literally no effort this week.

Proof will be this weeks weigh in. I have lost 12lb in 5 weeks so ok but not a wow. I'd like to see a loss this week tbh. I only need to lose half a pound to be in the next stone down....

BlueLimes · 24/02/2025 21:01

@HeavyHeidi @Whoknowsnotmeshrug
@MJalltheway

Thanks so much for your support. I’ve another 2 stone to go, past 4 weeks only lost 3.5lbs.
it is a bit easier, you’re right.
I’ve been stressed this week so I think I’m just feeling a bit low. I’m going to try and do a run tomorrow and maybe have a 1000 cal day.

Jins · 24/02/2025 21:03

@Whoknowsnotmeshrug yes I’ve done a fair bit of open water swimming and will definitely do it again when the weather picks up. At the moment it’s definitely wetsuit weather and mine….er…doesn’t fit 😆. I used to swim in our local river, there are 1km and 2km routes, but it’s quite hazardous now with all the paddleboarders so I’d probably not go alone.

I went to look at the pool in my nearest hotel gym but it’s only 18m and pretty shallow so not ideal.

RosaBaby2 · 24/02/2025 21:10

@supafish i have done zero exercise since starting and have no drive to start any time soon. I am generally unmotivated and depressed, and glad to be back at work after half term!

It's working fine for now without the exercise (23lbs off) but I am hoping to feel better about myself and that it has at least some small positive effect on my want to do exercise and get out more.

Sorry that's a bit of a miserable post, but I am nothing if not honest.

supafish · 24/02/2025 21:36

@RosaBaby2 I feel you 🙌 I'm wondering if a lowering in mood is a side effect as well . Keep going -we got this !

HeavyHeidi · 24/02/2025 20:49

*KrankySchwester *I was putting my clothes ready for tomorrow and thought that oh, those trousers that are too small would go nicely with this top, let's try how small they still are. They fit! Not only fit, but fit comfortably.

Well done! (I can’t call you HeavyHeidi! How about Not-So-HeavyHeidi-Anymore instead?)

MananaMananaPenelope · 25/02/2025 05:44

Morning everyone. I had a rubbish day yesterday at work (to put it mildly). I also ate poorly 😩. I had a smoked mackerel fillet and some cottage cheese for lunch. By the time I got home I was thoroughly fed up and had two haddock fillet fish fingers. Couldn’t face food or even be bothered to think about it (stressed). That was it for the day. I barely drank too, maybe four drinks all day.

Must do better today. Of to inject dose 5 shortly, I was having a mega hot flush yesterday morning and didn’t do it.

Whoknowsnotmeshrug · 25/02/2025 05:59

Morning all. I’m doing my morning workout in the (home) gym before work as I had a rest day yesterday after a heavy exercise weekend.

I had my first proper horrible symptoms yesterday. I accidentally ordered the wrong take away- I always have chicken breast kebab and accidentally ordered Donna meat. Im not a massive fan but had paid £30 for dinner so me and my husband begrudgingly ate some. I had about 1/3rd but left it as j don’t really like it. Well… bad decision! I had a really upset stomach during the night. It’s the first time I’ve ate something fatty and greasy since being on the injections and I guess now I know what happens. Is that normal for others?! I know I can’t grumble as I’ve had 5 injections and it’s the first time I’ve not been well but I was in shock as it’s only 2.5!!!

It can definitely impact on mood. I’m with Chequp and they offer regular meetings with a health coach and they were checking in on my
mental health as id identified it was a problem in the past. Really hope today feel a bit brighter but keep an eye on it xxx

MananaMananaPenelope · 25/02/2025 06:16

Just weighed in, 11lb loss overall. I guess that’s ok isn’t it in 23/1 first injection.

I’m going to find a counsellor today, I just need to talk to someone and be able to 🤮 it all out, this isn’t MJ related, I guess that could be making me less able to be positive, who knows. I’m pretty sure that if I had a different workplace I would be my chipper self.

BlueLimes · 25/02/2025 06:25

@MananaMananaPenelope oh it’s miserable, definitely try to talk to someone. Wishing you a better day.

Zempy · 25/02/2025 07:08

Sending hugs to those experiencing low mood. It’s a journey innit? Definitely reach out for help and support.

I have a mega busy week this week and will collapse in a heap by Friday. I can’t inject tonight as scheduled because I’m in court for work all week and it’s frowned upon to nod off at the bench. So I just have to keep going and hope the food noises isnt deafening.

To add to it, I’m working with a complete cow this week and having to be incredibly careful what I do and say (Professionally Offended type) at all times. Grrrr!

BlueLimes · 25/02/2025 07:34

@Zempy hope your week goes ok - why can’t people just be nice ?!

I think I’ve STS which in normal times would be a win after half term. I might do a delayed reported weight in case I can muster half a lb by tomorrow - think would help my mood.

CurlsandCurves · 25/02/2025 08:34

Weigh day, another 2 off.
SW 17.4
CW 16.9
GW 12, possibly? Not thought that far ahead yet.

Total 9lb in 4 weeks.

My next goal is to get into the 15s because I cannot remember how many years it’s been since I’ve seen that number on the scale.

Just done the golden dose. Very nerve wracking, I was paranoid I could see bubbles in the syringe! Got 0.7 out which equates to 2.92mg. I was tempted to say sod it and start the 5 mg but a) this stuff is expensive and b) it’s still a step up in dosage.

Interesting to hear others talk about low mood. I do have history of this and only this week I’ve been thinking what on earth is wrong with me why am I thinking and feeling like this. Reading here I’ve made the connection. I’m not too bad, just need to put things in place to shake myself out of it.

2025istheyeari · 25/02/2025 08:46

Hiya
Checking in after being away.
Sorry to hear some of you are feeling down, I suffered from depression for a while and it’s horrible. Hope you get the help you need, and that you have people around you to support you. Trying to lose weight is a rollercoaster isn’t it, you experience the massive highs and then crash to lows, add to that the stresses of everyday life- kids/ work etc and it’s overwhelming at times.

As I said, I was away for 5 days during half term, but unlike pre MJ I didn’t take that as a licence to eat everything in sight! We were in Iceland which is expensive so hotel breakfast included. I normally don’t eat breakfast but did, I stuck to high protein, low carb so had a rasher of bacon, egg and cucumber/ tomato, sometimes with chia pudding. I had 2 boiled eggs and a banana or nakd bar for lunch and was careful at dinner other than the final night where my husband had booked a tasting menu for mine and my son’s birthday. Most of it was fine and low carb/ fat. Mine was pescatarian. I left the butter sauce and ate most of the ( v small!) courses, I had a tiny bit of the pudding and that was it. I really enjoyed it. We did lots and lots of walking, including some steep hills and I weighed this morning and lost 2 pounds- I’m amazed!
my final 5mg jab is later today and I’ve ordered the 7.5mg for next month, the food noise is definitely definitely on the up, a couple of times I could have eaten a cinnamon bun last week!!

w8d1
sw 16st 3 1/2 ( actually a week before MJ as my pen was delayed so really I’m on week 9 of my ‘diet’)
cw 14st 6
total loss 25 1/2 pounds
gw 11st 7ish

so nearly 2 stone down, but 3 to go!!

have a good day all, happy holidays to those of you still away, and thanks for the support, this is a lovely thread.

Seaitoverthere · 25/02/2025 08:46

So sorry to hear some people are struggling. Hang in there, now we’re past the first few weeks weight loss will slow down and it is important to keep an eye on mental health with it as it can adversely affect some. My cousin is definitely not sounding herself , sounds very flat and I do think it is in part Mounjaro.

Haven’t felt too bad on 5mg after horrible day on Saturday thank goodness. Very happy this morning as my Renpho scales are claiming that my visceral fat is now out of the red zone and into Amber having gone from 21 in December 23 to 15 this morning. I doubt they are accurate but hopefully gives and indication of what is going on.

Having bloods this morning as need them monthly but my cholesterol and hba1c are being done today too. Looking forward to seeing results as last year my cholesterol went up from 5.1 in February to 6.5 in October and hoping for a reduction. Blood sugar has always been fairly ok to my surprise but will be interesting to see if any changes there.

0.2lb to go to losing a stone, hoping to be at a stone at end of the week as that is 2 months and what I was aiming for and very happy as just worked out my total loss including what I lost before Mounjaro is about 50lbs - been 16 months but that’s ok and hoping Mounjaro will make me more consistent and get me to the end a fair bit quicker than left to my own devices. BMI 33.6 so a way to go yet but much better than 41.5 where I started .

GrumpyMuleFan · 25/02/2025 09:04

Big hug to those struggling with side effects this week. 🤗🤗🤗. As someone said upthread, we are over the initial stage and weight loss may slow + dealing with symptoms is trying. Support through all of this is such a good idea. I’m with Slimmr and they have therapists you can book with. So obviously a wide spread need. I’m finding this group so supportive and helpful too.

Im in London today and have several meetings. Day 2 after jab. 😱😱 This is worrying me as day 2 tends to be when I get the awful digestive issues….

i wrote up my weight loss for each week and have a pattern of 0.5lb one week and then 4lb the next. Also found some 01/01/25 measurements. I’ve lost 2 1/2 inches from waist which I’m really chuffed about. I have a big tummy - think an egg on legs. 🤣

HeavyHeidi · 25/02/2025 09:10

That's amazing @Seaitoverthere

Jins · 25/02/2025 09:14

Sorry to hear about the low moods. I’m sure some of it will be MJ related but it’s not uncommon at this point in a weight loss program either. We’re all about 6 to 8 weeks into it and while most of us have seen big improvements I think we can all agree that there’s a long way to go.

The scales are shifting for me although I’m having to weigh on my old ones and my renpho ones as there’s a difference between them. Obviously the renpho ones weigh heavier or I’d have ditched the old ones 😆

HeavyHeidi · 25/02/2025 09:44

Wanted to post again the lin @MananaMananaPenelope shared earlier on this thread. If you think you are losing too slowly and why aren't the pounds dropping off at a faster rate, they do all add up! Look how much smaller we will be in matter or weeks, never mind months.
https://losertown.org/eats/cal.php

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 25/02/2025 09:55

W6 D2, total lost 4lbs. Current dose - 5.

Really sorry to hear some people are feeling down - it does make everything feel much harder work. Spring is on the way and I usually find that lifts my mood so hope that has an effect.

I’m battling not to be discouraged by my depressingly low loss. I’m maybe slightly suppressed and definitely eating less, but no cessation of food noise. Side effects are okay though - a stomach ache today and yesterday but manageable.

I get to weigh tomorrow and Thursday as I’m home (but in the office) and I approach the scales with fear but hope. Every bloody time. Can’t help hoping it will suddenly work for me.

Well done all those seeing such great results. Even if the rate of loss is slowing, you’ve already come so far - congratulations!

I have this exact weight loss pattern, I noticed this morning. Really weird. I feel noticeably slimmer than I did last week so was expecting a bit of a loss but it was less than a pound. Hopefully a big one will follow next week.

HeavyHeidi · 25/02/2025 10:41

If any of you have started exercising more, then muscles when they are reparing themselves will hold quite a bit of water, that may also explain smaller losses.

Jins · 25/02/2025 10:51

NSV today when I put one of my favourite tops on and it’s now a bit too big. It used to be fitted round shoulders and flowing below and now it’s too loose to call fitted. I’ll have to take it apart and remake it at some point.

I’m really surprised that I’ve lost from the areas that bothered me first. My stomach is usually the last to lose from and it’s the first this time. The fat pads under my arms have shrunk as well. So there’s definitely more to it than just appetite suppression

That’s just the best! Losing from the places you most want to lose from first - congratulations!

Cabinfever20 · 25/02/2025 11:20

@jins. I finally got my new Renpho scales connected to my phone without having to ask for help. 😂. The opposite has happened with me - I weigh 2lb less than on my old scales which only measure whole pounds. So I'm definitely sticking to what the Renpho scales show!
So sorry to hear about some of you feeling a bit down - hopefully as someone said earlier we will all cheer up once spring and the better weather comes. Just think forward to summer when we will all be getting into our new clothes or fitting into old ones that haven't seen the light of day for years.
