Hi Guys! I actually started my MJ journey a couple of weeks ago but haven’t posted. I knew in advance that I would be a super responder because I react strongly to any hormone or medicine. So I started with 1.25 mg (30 clicks) and had a very strong reaction - nausea, complete suppression, dry mouth, headache. I did inject again but after 10 days and reduced to 20 clicks, and the third injection I went back to 30 clicks. My body seems to have got used to it a bit more now, I’m not experiencing the horrible nausea but good suppression and feeling of fullness.

so the stats! I started at 15 stone 1 pound. Week 1 lost 7 pounds, week 2 stayed the same, week 3 lost 2 pounds and into the overweight category rather than obese! Thats because I’m pretty tall, my goal weight is 12 stones which puts me into the healthy bmi category. (My injection day is different to my weigh day because of extending my time the first week to 10 days.)

i thought I’d post because I’ve been reading all the January start posts and was a bit timid to post because I felt a bit unusual with starting (and staying on) such small doses but I’ve seen a couple of others like me so I feel I belong!

You are so welcome!! I think it's incredibly useful to hear all different experiences. You've done so well with adjusting the medication to suit your body.

@Beanie567 I'm a small doser as well, because of similar side-effects to you. I started at 2.5mg but dropped right back to between 1.25mg and 2mg for the next 5 doses.

I've not lost loads, 6lbs in 6 weeks, but that still brings me to a weight that I haven't been for a couple of years so I'm pleased with the progress.

yomellamoHelly · 09/02/2025 14:24

Hi everyone

I've not posted on here before, but I have a question:

I started in January and have done 4 doses. Am due to go up to 5 mg with the next jab.

But it's going to be half-term and we're going away

I haven't experienced any spectacular loss so far (5 lb), hence going up a dose, but have read about the side effects experienced when they do. (Not experienced any so far.)

Would you go up anyway, as there's minimal chance of snacking since we'll be on the slopes all day? Or would you do a half dose?

From what I've read a lot of side effects seem to come from overdoing it, and this is the one time of year I usually don't go too mad (no opportunity).

x

cloudjumper · 09/02/2025 14:29

@yomellamoHelly Rather than starting the next pen/dose, would you consider doing the bonus dose from your current pen?
We're going skiing for half term as well, and while there is little chance of snacking while out on the slopes, I know that the hunger in the evening is fierce! As it should be, when you're exercising all day long...

yomellamoHelly · 09/02/2025 15:19

Is this where you purchase a syringe and needle? (And if so how do I go about that?

Thelittlestranger · 09/02/2025 16:10

W7 Day 1 - second week of 3.75mg
Total loss 14.5lbs.
SW: 168.5lbs
CW: 154lbs

This week has been just right - burping and heartburn very little. Good suppression, no food noise. Starting to feel a real difference in my bras, jeans, belt (two notches tighter) I have energy to exercise - another lifter here. Will keep an eye to see if I go up after heavy weights...

Tonight is lasagne and a glass of prosecco to end the week - still can't work out why I've started enjoying fizz so much ...

@yomellamoHelly alternatively, you could just do 45 clicks in your 5mg pen and only go up to 3.75mg if you are worried about side effects. I've staggered the move up (did bonus dose with a needle, then 45 clicks) and am pleased I did. There are lots of links to syringes in thread 3 of our chat and advice on how to do it.

I bought 1 ml syringes from this website: www.shdmedical.co.uk/ and extracted the bonus dose (got 3.3mg) from my 2.5 mg pen. It was super-easy (I didn't fancy faffing around with counting clicks, but that's just me!).

MananaMananaPenelope · 09/02/2025 16:35

Checking in before my ‘last supper’ of a roast chicken dinner.

I’m injecting before I go to work tomorrow.

Thinking positively, thanks @cloudjumper I’ve just bought some needed from there.

I started on 23/1, next dose 30/1, third dose will be tomorrow and then a fourth next Monday. I’ll bin this pen after that I think as I’ll be over 30 days otherwise.

Send me good vibes for this 😎, I need it to work for me.

Thanks @myladyjane and @FatGirlLosing glad to know I’m not the only one. I guess it makes sense that muscles would retain ‘something’ in order to rebuild. Not feeling the DOMs today, either the collagen is working or I’ll feel it tomorrow!

I’ll have a mid-week weigh on my Renpho scales in a few days and see if my body fat % is any lower. I got on them yesterday before the gym and I’ve gone from 36.1% to 34.7% since 11th Jan. V pleased with that. I need to remind myself to check body fat when I’m having a weight loss plateau.

You’ve just prompted me to connect my scales to its body composition app (I never bothered when I first got them) and by jove, got quite the shock. Everything is off; out of 18 categories only 2 were ‘normal/ ideal’ - muscle mass and rate.

I know they’re not 100% accurate but this has been quite the eye opener.

Yeah, mine are off too 😭

RosaBaby2 · 09/02/2025 19:36

Guys I feel like an absolute sack of shit at the moment, Mounjaro works wonders for me with my willpower, unless I'm poorly it would seem 😅

I've always eaten my way through bad colds or days where my hay-fever is terrible and I've made some bad choices this weekend HOWEVER it would have been so much worse before!

Hope everyone's doing OK.

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 09/02/2025 19:59

Am I the only one who’s not losing? Well, less than 2lbs in 3 weeks.

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 09/02/2025 19:59

I lost 1 lb last week and the most is 2 lbs in a week. I just think I need the 5mg dose to maybe see a little more but I’m ok with 2-3 lbs a week, 1 lb is slightly soul destroying at the price 🤣

Cuppaandcakes20 · 09/02/2025 20:18

I felt so rubbish this time last week, after taking my first 5mg on the Friday. I had reduced to 3.75 this week. I'm in a slight panic that I'm going to feel ill again and second guessing every twinge and ache!

I've lost really well since I've started and I'm starting to feel my clothes fit better and I certainly feel healthier. It's a dangerous territory as I often lose a few pounds then get complacent and it all come back on.

Lilausaurusrex · 09/02/2025 20:23

DGonMJ · 09/02/2025 12:02

@Lilausaurusrex that’s a super impressive weekly exercise routine! Have you found MJ has affected it in any way?
And can I ask how the creatine helps? I’ve seen it in the shops but wasn’t quite sure of the benefit for me (I consider myself a bit of a weedy lightweight!) and also saw it contained taurine which I think would send me over the edge on top of my daily cup of coffee.

The first week I was way more tired and did not perform well at all, which I found disappointing: but I also hardly ate.The past few weeks has been fine. I’ve been making much better food choices vs what previously ate and that has an impact. And I can feel my body responding positively to the lost weight in all my sport. Creatine increases muscle mass and strength. Kinda gives you a boost of power. I just mix it with my protein shakes!

UnderandOverwhelmed · 09/02/2025 21:53

Here you all are, I thought the other thread had gone a bit quiet!

Focussingonme · 09/02/2025 22:23

Has anyone starting exercise found they've gained weight? I've have great results so far but this week have gained 0.4kgs. The trainer at the gym said it could be the muscle catching up with me or that I've reached a plateau - I stuck at 2.5mg for my second pen and I've just done my second injection this evening. Worried I should have gone up to 5mg but I've been doing so well and no side effects plus food suppression I thought I'd stay low. Any advice?

Shirtyllama · 09/02/2025 23:47

Just checking in to mark the new thread. I'm taking 5th dose tomorrow (will try bonus dose) and then have a 5mg pen lined up. I feel like 2.5 is working well for me though, I'm basically eating the way I've wanted to do for ages, but snacking and second helpings always got in the way.

So I'm eating the fairly healthy stuff I cook at home normally , but not eating chunks of cheese while I cook, or scoffing huge bars of chocolate in the evening. Hope I can somehow stick to this in the long term.
SW: 13 stone 5 I think
CW: 12 stone 4
GW: 10 stone?

Best thing is that I'm enjoying food but not thinking about it outside of meals or convincing myself that I really need/deserve a snack/treat (I was doing this ALL THE TIME in the past 10 years, which is clearly how I put most of the extra weight on).

I did 6 hours of digging in the garden last week and gained 1.6 lb and when I did c25k once I also gained and didn’t lose for a few weeks.

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 10/02/2025 06:39

@Focussingonme I don't do heavy weights or anything, but I do strength train twice a week. This morning I weighed exactly 2lbs more than yesterday, after an hours session yesterday.
I've always notice my weight fluctuate a lot, which is why I daily weigh to get an overall picture, I never even thought to link it to my training though!

unicornsaremagical · 10/02/2025 07:37

i don’t do heavy weights but have recently started to do weights sessions and ab workouts to target my stomach, i usually notice my weight goes up too but when i just focus on cardio it does go down. My weight seems to change every morning. Anyone have any tips on targeting the love handle/muffin top area? i’m noticing a loss everywhere now but they just don’t seem to budge

UnderandOverwhelmed · 10/02/2025 08:23

My period has finally arrived after 41 days! Hopefully some of the bloating might now subside as I've been feeling huge for nearly two weeks waiting for it to appear. Never thought I'd actually be happy to see it arrive!

myladyjane · 10/02/2025 09:23

I am keen for my period I must say. It should be pretty imminent and I've felt a bit grumpy but none of my usual cycle symptoms have happened (got my period 3 days after starting mj which was on time).

I have a very obvious menstrual cycle even at my great age so the absence of anything (ovulation pain as it cranks out the very last scrambled egg, sore boobs etc) is a bit odd. Not unwelcome as frankly I've very over periods but odd.

I had a 'bad' day yesterday. I was very hungry and ate over my calories. Much more food noise than I've been having. What I ate was healthy and when I say over I think I scaled the dizzy heights of 1500 cals rather than between 1200/1300 but it was the first day I found it hard.

This could be period related, could be things wearing off a bit. Am now wk 4 day 4 and have got on ok so far so probably time to move up. Let's see how much I get in the bonus dose then planning to go to 3.75 after this week.

Focussingonme · 10/02/2025 09:34

Thanks @Howinthehelldidthishappen and @Seaitoverthere I really appreciate it.

I've been doing Pilates once a week since Christmas and this week added in a weights session too so I'm hoping that's it as lots of you are saying similar. Will be good to increase the muscle mass as I am worried about sagging skin 🤦🏼‍♀️

Is anyone taking anything for that? A woman at work recommended collagen?
