Did pick up a Trip drink to see if that hits the same as a G&T - doubtful!

Hi everyone

I've not posted on here before, but I have a question:

I started in January and have done 4 doses. Am due to go up to 5 mg with the next jab.

But it's going to be half-term and we're going away

I haven't experienced any spectacular loss so far (5 lb), hence going up a dose, but have read about the side effects experienced when they do. (Not experienced any so far.)

Would you go up anyway, as there's minimal chance of snacking since we'll be on the slopes all day? Or would you do a half dose?

From what I've read a lot of side effects seem to come from overdoing it, and this is the one time of year I usually don't go too mad (no opportunity).

Honestly I wouldn’t go up before a holiday - you’ll be doing loads of exercise skiing so stick with what you are used to. The side effects I felt going to 3.75 I wouldn’t want on a skiing holiday, feeling sick, light headed and tired (or upset stomach like others) is not what you need on the slopes

I'm on wk4d2 I am down 8lb so far and really pleased with that. I’ve just ordered another 2.5 pen for next month. I’ve not had many side effects - a bit of nausea and being tired. But today I have been glued to the loo!!!! There is nothing left in my digestive system and I’ve given my family a bit of a fright. They don’t know about MJ, so are assuming I’ve picked up some highly contagious bug. 🤣🤣

@zempy I’ve taken psyllium husks four days running, it is resolving my ‘issue’. Apparently Mag Citrate has a more or less immediate effect.

@Zempy i haven’t taken anything but will buy some when in town tomorrow. I am sorry you have the opposite issue. So weird how it affects us all in different ways. I’ve been pondering - what made today different?

SIDE EFFECTS -

  • period now 5 days late??? Is this normal? I see people talking about spotting but nothing about late?
  • BADLY constipated

12lbs down and about 40lbs to go!

@IBloodyLoveMyBlanket I'll be finished my first pen on the same day as you (I'll do the bonus too the following week) and plan to go up to 5mg. I still don't feel the need to snack at all, but I can feel myself getting hungrier and my portion sizes are getting bigger. I've spent the past week and 3 days going down and up the same few lbs so think 5mg might be more effective for me!

Wk 5 D 4 here. Wow it feels like yesterday I started.

V nauseaus after moving up to 5mg, bit headachey (but OK with paracetamol) and brought on a full on period (used to be 2 days light and infrequent) this was cramps, clots, full on but exactly 28 days after my other one so somethings going on there.

Jab & Weigh Day week 4 results!
sw: 16.11
cw: 15.5
Total loss 1 stone 6 pounds

Todays weigh in was a 1lb loss, gutted as I had hoped for more but I think it’s 2 fold as to why not. 1) Damaging my coccyx on Wednesday last week, excruciating and the area is swollen and damaged ( water healing weight) and
2) CONSTIPATION- senna did diddly squat, though maybe my body is saving me the pain of a poop with a damaged coccyx 🤣

So - end of month 1 and I’m 1 stone 6 pounds down, can’t grumble at that!!

Going to do the golden dose today, I have been very conservative with my priming of the pen so I’m hoping it’s more than a 2.5mg dose for a nice bridge to 5mg which is ready and waiting ( I’ll report back after 9 for that)

I have a texture gag reflex ( no laughing) so any recommendations for a fibre supplement that doesn’t taste thick or claggy please?

Hi. My first period on MJ was normal, but second about a week late (started yesterday). Despite going to 5mg this weekend I was the hungriest I’ve been so far on Sunday, which I am guessing is due to a combination of PMT and a orettt meaty cold I’ve got.

Good morning - third jab done after a pause of 6 days, so essentially a week off. Wish me luck folks - let's hope I feel well. I so need this post cancer weight to shift! For loads of reasons, health, my size 12-14 wardrobe of lovely clothes that I can't fit into. My adventure holiday booked with my teens this summer. I categorically do not want to visit six cities by train as a size 18.

Not sure about periods as I seem to only have three a year now, but I did have loads of pre menstrual symptoms that I haven't seen for a while towards the mid/end of week 2.

W3D4 today, fullness tailed off yesterday so was able to eat two normal meals again. Did a little mid-week weigh and according to the weight tracker app, I should be on course to hit my goal weight at the start of July - just in time for holidays! 🌞

@kmreeve I take 1 senna most nights to keep my insides moving and have been sticking flax seeds on yogurt or in soup to help . But constipation can be a bit grim as most of us know x

i moved up to 4mg last night. I don’t feel much suppression so now wishing I’d had 5mg. Weight loss has really slowed but I was keen not to get bad side effects- so far only had slight nausea.

SW 12.1 and a half !
W1 -6
W2 -2.5
W3 -1
W4 -1

CW 11.5

Will keep plodding on… 2 stone to go.

I’ve read a lot of people don’t lose much on the first pen. 2lbs off is good and better than putting on- totally see why you are disappointed though. Keep going !

@kmreeve Have you tried chia seeds or linseeds? I take them with my yoghurt each morning, or you can sprinkle them over a salad. They add a bit of crunch, rather than being claggy.

Yes, they already form part of my diet ( I have been plant based for about 6 years but recently added eggs and fish back into my diet) I ate too much UPF vegan “meat” replacements which I think contributed to my weight gain along with large quantities of oat milk. So I’m back to soya and fish and eggs in lou of “meats”

I managed to get 70 out of the golden dose - anyone know what that works out as for mg dose wise.. 3 something?

@kmreeve also maybe up your water intake? Stick to soups and soft food until you’ve shifted if otherwise you could be adding to the backlog.

Juniper scales were misbehaving yesterday and claimed I’d put on 2kg overnight! Freaked out so got a second opinion from my Renpho scales which confirmed I had not put on 2kg. Perils of daily weighing. Juniper scales back down to 72.5kg this morning, which is still 0.5kg heavier than Saturday. Might have to switch to every other day…and eventually wean myself off to doing it weekly.
