Are we working our way around our bodies here? Look what you have started @Reginaphalangeeeee ! 🤣

On the boob front - mines are definitely much smaller - I am getting by on a handful of smaller bras/tightening straps - will put off buying as long as possible. A weird one is my inverted nipple is no longer inverted 😳 No idea why.

Other body changes - "skinny" ankles (2 weeks after starting MJ all swelling was gone 🫢)............ also have any newbies felt their elbows recently! I was shocked when someone mentioned it a few months back and I found out how smooth my normally cheese grater texture elbows were! Couldn't stop touching them for days 🤣

Reginaphalangeeeee · 30/01/2025 13:24

Love the boob insights! I seem to have a bra hording issue where I keep old uncomfortable tight bras incase I shrink and can wear them again. Means I have a good supply as I shrink I hope. Currently only have 2 bras I am comfortable in at the largest size of 40J
New bras feel so tight to begin anyway, may just wait.

Collar bones-that's something to look forward to.
I already have some loose turkey type loose skin jowells and can see the chins are shrinking. Frantically moisturising this and my feeds get full of facial yoga. Anyone tried it?

Sorry 😆
These other body insights are so interesting and trying to keep focussed on not only scales.

From B bellies to boobs and now elbows and chins 😆

Orangesandlemons77 · 30/01/2025 13:35

Someone (I think in the Oushk FB group) said they had gone to the GP about their sternum, GP said it was normal. Just they could feel it now!

Darlinghag · 30/01/2025 14:49

Collarbones!! Yes, such a revelation! They aren’t too visually pronounced for me yet but they feel ‘there’ and I often find myself alarmed by it lol!!

my shin bones are something too - when i flex my foot they seem to be so obvious! And then bones on my inner side of my knee. So many bones!!

Darlinghag · 30/01/2025 14:53

@Reginaphalangeeeee not sure if its working but i am trying mouth tape for my jaw, which apparently will help improve ny jaw/chin shape??

im a mouth open sleeper so i use it to stop snoring and help with TMJ so its dual purpose so i wonder if it will help long term?

i’ve lost most of my double chins, i think the next stone of weight will get rid of the rest and really hoping i dont have a lot of excess skin there so ill keep on with the tape to see if it helps!

RagzRebooted · 30/01/2025 15:38

Hi everyone, I posted on the first of these threads a very long time ago. Just been reading the last few and popping in to share my latest milestone. I'm officially not overweight! Just tipped under BMI 25 this morning and a 5 stone loss.

I started on 20th March last year.
SW:17 and half stone/244lbs/111kg
CW: 12 and a half stone/174lbs/79kg
GW: 11 and a half stone/160lbs/73kg

Not 100% on the goal weight, but I really want another stone off as I'd like to be a size 12. I'm tall so I was only 18-20 at my heaviest and I like my curves so don't want to get to a 10. Still have my boobs (38D to 34E) and most of my bum. Would be happy with less on the thighs and belly, but we can't choose where it goes from unfortunately.

RagzRebooted · 30/01/2025 15:39

@Darlinghag mouth tape sounds interesting, I may have to Google that. I wake with an awful dry mouth from sleeping with it wide open and am prone to grinding and clenching so I wonder if it will help. I had jaw Botox last year, which really helped the pain I was getting from that, but it does wear off and isn't cheap.

Darlinghag · 30/01/2025 15:45

@RagzRebooted its helped me loads! My TMJ really impacts my teeth and ears and its certainly reduced my ability to clench. I do sometimes wear a mouthguard aswell, when I can sense it picking up a little!

QueenOfHiraeth · 30/01/2025 21:54

Late to the boobs conversation but mine have really deflated and the best way I can describe them now is "low hanging fruit". I did the Boob or Bust measuring and got a 5-6" difference but there is no volume to them when I lean forward, they are like hanging empty plastic bags. Sadly they've shrunk so much they are even crinkly😩
I have been buying bras at the supermarket because the underwired T-shirt bras are my ideal, they give support and have a foam cup so a little bit of coverage whereas any bralettes I've tried don't seem to give much support and seem to make them look flatter and wider rather than facing forward (if that makes sense). Unfortunately my size has been up and down so much over the last few years that I have loads of bras now that don't fit and we are very limited on places for fitting round here to replace them

Bibulous · 30/01/2025 22:37

@RagzRebooted congratulations on hitting BMI 25!!

alltablenochairs · 30/01/2025 23:40

Deflated boobs here as well. Not that I care because I dont really. I usually get my bras from a little lingerie shop near by where my Mum lives. It's been there forever and it's the kind of place where they can measure you just by looking at you. Shame it's 400 miles away because I have never found anywhere even remotely similar to it.

Something else I have noticed since starting MJ (apart from the silky smooth elbows- dh just asked why I was stroking them! is that my restless legs have all but disappeared. It was an absolute nightmare pre-MJ and I would go to bed with ankle weights AND my son's weighted blankets just to get them to stop for long enough so I could get to sleep. I can't actually remember where the ankle weights are now it's been that long I since I last used them.

Onwards and downwards.

Thant's interesting about the restless legs as I have had the same. I wasn't sure if it was the MJ or some gabapentin which I am trialling for a pain problem.

It's so annoying and difficult I agree, mine has been much better too.

Also enjoying the less swollen ankles, will be nice in the summer time I think.I just checked the elbows and see what you mean, how strange?!

Darlinghag · 31/01/2025 09:44

Any folks here keeping and using MJ past the 30 days?

I’ve done 30 days and have always said I would go another week as I refrigerate my pen, but wondering what other folks do.

I am on 8mg at the mo, and using a 7.5mg pen to dispense (topping up with the bonus dose liquid) but just ordered a new pen. Had been umming and ahhing about what dose one to get because I am not sure when I will increase and realised 10mg is the same price, so got that one. If I stick to this dose, which is not likely but you never know, there will be six doses. Which means the last would be stretching over the 30 days.

Not the end if I lose it to the bin, but if I can save a little money all the better!

hellohellooo · 31/01/2025 10:20

Hello all

Starting weight

19 stone 6 lbs back in sept

Weighed myself today

15 stone 13lbs

I have not been this weight since 2019

Finally going clothes shopping I have wore the same type of leggings and over sized jumpers for years

This has been amazing !!!!!

hellohellooo · 31/01/2025 10:24

MounjoJarry · 26/01/2025 23:52

Hi everyone! Hope you won’t mind if I join 🙂

I have 30kg to lose and started MJ a week ago. I haven’t had any side effects but sadly no appetite suppression either… I am hoping I will start to notice it working when I go up to 5mg but that’s not for another three weeks.

Did anybody else not respond to 2.5mg? I’m trying not to worry as I read that 2.5mg is not a “therapeutic” dose but is supposed to help your body get used to the drug. Worth mentioning that I have PCOS and hypothyroidism so perhaps this is affecting things?

I think I started to lose around week 6

I had a very slow start

Then it was 2lbs a week and some weeks 3

No sugar
Lots of protein
Very few carbs I just don't crave them any more

gimmemounjaro · 31/01/2025 10:32

@Darlinghag
I don't think I would ever break the seal 6x instead of 4x but I am quite risk averse and can do without the extra worrying! I think that's more the issue than the drug itself 'going off' over time iykwim, it's what's getting into the pen (and then into you) from breaking the seal with the needle. It would probably be fine though!

I hear ya.

I already put more than four needles in. Like for 8mg (64 clicks) I split it in half so its easier to dispense the last 4 clicks - and I don’t use a needle twice so change over. So I guess that’s me already breaking that boundary haha!

I do keep it in the fridge though and am fastidious about wiping the seal with alcohol wipes every time I go to put a needle head on. I will pay more attention to the seal going forward though. I have definitely been more concerned about the liquid itself being less useful rather than the seal! I have convinced myself that refrigerating it is what keeps it good for the mo th - last month I took it out after my second dose and it felt so much less effective!!

GiveMeStrengthAndVodka · 31/01/2025 10:50

Hi, I hope its ok for me to join. I started Semaglutide before Christmas but I have had horrible side effects and I really struggle with the whole injecting myself thing. I am so down about my size so I am going to have another shot and get DP to inject me and see if that helps somewhat.
I've stocked up on anti sickness tablets, some drops to help with energy and some other supplements on the way because last time my hair fell out in clumps!

Has anyone approached their Dr to monitor their bloods whilst they are doing this?

QueenOfHiraeth · 31/01/2025 11:03

@Darlinghag I have always kept mine in the bedside table once in use as I thought it might be uncomfortable to inject straight from the fridge and I know I would forget to get it out. Do you let it warm up before injecting or am I worrying needlessly?

@GiveMeStrengthAndVodka I suspect GPs might vary on this as they do with blood tests after private or overseas bariatric surgery. Technically the NHS answer is no but some GPs are more accommodating.
My friend wanted more clinical oversight so gets hers from a private GP clinic who offer testing and body scans as part of their package. A private GP probably would do tests for you if your GP won't but you would have to pay

gimmemounjaro · 31/01/2025 11:05

Just curious @GiveMeStrengthAndVodka

Have you tried Mounjaro instead? As you had such a horrible time on semaglutide?
Good luck, hope it goes better for you this time.
I'm not sure about bloods sorry but I'm sure someone will know.

Darlinghag · 31/01/2025 11:10

@QueenOfHiraeth its probably out for two or three minutes, while I prep stuff. I’ve never not done it so until i read other people’s experiences i didn’t realise it wasn’t the norm! No issues though, i don’t feel anything different!

i have no basis for thinking its better in the fridge, but it does make sense to me. Otherwise why do providers keep it cold and then ask us to refrigerate before starting it? For me, keeping it out of chiller temps is how the countdown on the 30 days begins (along with counting seal punctures i guess - but i’ve not actually read the literature that says its a factor that impacts safety/efficacy - not denying it, i just might have missed the paperwork!) - so keeping it in the fridge helps me go beyond 30 days.

i am clearly speculating and have no medical background lol 🤣 so nobody copy me!!

CatsorDogsrule · 31/01/2025 11:27

@Darlinghag I looked at the Humalog insulin directions, as it is also the same type of Eli Lilly Kwikpen. They don't restrict the number of seal piercings, as they direct you to count clicks from 1 - 60 and it is taken daily. They do restrict to 28 days, so it is slightly different, perhaps due to the more frequent use and likelihood of not being refrigerated.

I keep my pen refrigerated throughout use. I would personally be OK with taking 6 doses in 35 days myself, due to keeping the pen refrigerated and as sanitary as possible, like you, but would carefully check for signs of cloudiness in the liquid. Not a recommendation though, as not a medic.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 31/01/2025 11:30

@GiveMeStrengthAndVodka if you are over 49 you are entitled to an NHS health check every five years, which includes blood work. If you haven’t already had a check in the last five years you could use this as a baseline and then either ask your GP abont
follow-ups or look into your private options.
