Well done @hellohellooo !!

Am on my period and have turned into a raging sugar monster. Looking forward to going up to 5mg on Wednesday, hoping it will kill some of the cravings!

Me too! I started at the start of January and didn't have this problem on 2.5mg but I'm on 5mg this month and I just want to snack snack snack! Bloody hormones.

Timetofindme · 18/02/2025 17:14

I'm on an in between dose of 6.25mg and have decided I've got to drop it back. 2nd time in 6 weeks I've had awful diarrhoea for 24/36 hours, waking me up through the night, but this time was capped off by being sick. I'd only had this once before in nearly 5 months so I think my body just isn't liking the higher dose.

Feeling fine today but due to inject tomorrow and decided I have to step back to 5.

What I can't decide is whether to jab tomorrow or leave it a few days (or a whole week) and then whether to jab 5 or 2.5 to let the levels in my system drop a hit.

I know any advice on here isn't from my medical professional etc but I'd really appreciate any thoughts please! I'll also contact my provider but am not hopeful of hearing back before tomorrow!

Just my own point of view as I was very ill on week 3 of 7.5 and thought I was going to come off it for good. I’m now fairly certain it was norovirus. So I stopped for 2 weeks and jabbed 2.5 yesterday and feel ok so far. Shotsy says there’s 3.75 in my system so if you do go for it, it’s worth checking what is left in you so you don’t end up with a high dose. Good luck!

Timetofindme · 18/02/2025 20:39

@Novjaro thanks. I'm fairly certain it's the MJ not a bug. I have been playing with the glp1 plotter (not got shotsy) which is why I'm tending towards 2.5 or have a week off. Honestly can't hack feeling like this again, it's impacts my life too much but I really don't want to come off MJ hence thinking I need to drop back to 5. But what to do this week, the debate in my head continues 😂

MooBaggage · 19/02/2025 06:50

Just having a tiny wobble as I did a random weigh this morning - am feeling like I've lost weight and my body shape is definitely changing - and am the same as last week 🙄

I know - is insignificant in the grand scheme of things - completely irrational to feel disappointed - but I was 100% sure the scales would say something different!

I feel like the MJ has changed so much of my life - but the scales are still terrifying...!

I'm not been funny but I feel like that about every 2nd week. And yet I've lost 26 kilos.

Sometimes I gain on the scales but I can see the weight loss and feel how different my clothes feel etc.

Keep eating a calorie deficit, do some exercise, hydrate, be patient- trust the process. You're doing great.

Thanks 😊 Silly really as for the first time in my adult life, I really do trust the process! I'm doing lots of hand weights (and got a kettlebell for my birthday!) stuff, am definitely nowhere near eating too many calories and am drinking as much water as I can - and am feeling full and happy - so can't be too upset. Just haven't quite got over my obsession/fear of what the number on the scales says 🙄

gimmemounjaro · 19/02/2025 08:22

I know exactly that feeling @MooBaggage and sometimes think that scales must be the biggest cause of derailment. I have always been a daily weigher but it does affect me if I don't lose every day. And ultimately the numbers are pretty meaningless, I mean who cares, that's not what this is really about, I don't think.

So I decided at my last weigh day on Sunday that I would try 4 weeks without weighing. That quickly became 2 weeks and then a week. And I had to talk myself down from weighing mid-week this morning because I felt like I had a good day yesterday and I knew there was the potential for knocking me off course if I didn't see results on the scales. I don't really have the answer but feel your pain!

I guess the thing is to think about what your goal actually is - presumably not actually to get to a certain arbitrary number but to feel and look better, be fitter and healthier with an easy relationship with food and many more active years in your future? There are lots of ways to measure that apart from weight. I feel so much better eating well, not battling food all the time, exercising. I'm actually enjoying the process most of the time and think I might do it even if I knew I would never lose another pound. All very virtuous. But I still haven't lost the voice in my head telling me to weigh every morning because I'm bound to have lost 0.3lbs since yesterday!

MooBaggage · 19/02/2025 08:30

Yes the voice in the head is a bitch, isn't it..?! I've lost all the food noise and any desire to drink alcohol/eat crap, which is effing miraculous - just a shame I can't lose the voice that tells me I'm failing because the number on the scales hasn't moved 🙄

I would and will definitely keep going - no plantar fasciitis and IBS are in themselves reason enough! Will do more weights today and aim for the pesky 2 litres of water 😀

My mini goal was to get into the 18 stones by the end of February - 3 lbs to go - no weighing now for at least a week!

Darlinghag · 19/02/2025 09:37

I hear you @MooBaggage , I’ve had a few moments of the last few weeks where it feels like I am going nowhere since Christmas, even though I’ve lost over 8lbs since January 1st.

I think its down to the novelty wearing off sometimes.

Its why I have started doing lists of things that are changing or I am noticing! It does help.

And I have a couple of things today:

  • Bought a pair of size 18 River Island trousers on Vinted and when they came I thought they would be waaaaay too small. They looked so tiny. But they are on! Are they tight? Yes, but they did up, and I would expect another 4-6lbs will make them comfy, which is great cos they are a little too thin for this weather.
  • Sounds gross, but personal hygiene is so much easier!! I marvel everytime I shower.
  • My period seems to have settled - my periods on MJ have been very heavy and painful, but this month bas been more normal, for which I am grateful!
RobinEllacotStrike · 19/02/2025 10:10

I usually WFH and I am of to London today for a business lunch with some colleagues and a client.
I don't wear suits ( my industry is wear what you want) but in my bag of "long held onto clothes I love but couldnt fit", is this amazing skirt "suit" (very informal, blue, zipped jacket, pencil skirt with a front kick pleat). I only ever wore it a couple of times.

I'm wearing it today and honesly it looks bloody amazing on & feels great. And it isnt even "snug" - the jacket around the hips is a bit loose.

SqueakyDinosaur · 19/02/2025 11:47

That's great, @RobinEllacotStrike ! On a whim earlier in the week, I tried on some summer clothes that were a bit too snug last summer, and now they look nice and are actually quite loose. It's such a weird feeling and I still think of it as some sort of magic trick, if I'm honest.

I do need to have a massive trying on and chucking out session, but it's just too cold to take any of my 23897928 jumpers off at the moment!

RobinEllacotStrike · 19/02/2025 15:08

I have that "magic trick" feeling sometimes too.

It's funny fitting into old clothes and feeling slim. When I originally wore the clothes I felt I was very fat.

In fact I have felt irredeemably fat since I was a teen. I've literally thought myself into being fat (with a little help from refined carbs & butter).

It's so annoying especially when you are doing everything right. I had two weeks where I gained and lost within a 2 or 3lb range over and over again it was driving me mad

Arglefraster · 19/02/2025 22:26

Ahh @MooBaggage I'm sorry the scales are stuck it's so phenomenally frustrating!!
Until yesterday I was stuck half a kg either side of 130 since 23rd January - low an behold the thing I was stressed waiting for happened on Monday & I'm moving down again 🎉

KBO the time is going to pass regardless!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 20/02/2025 01:09

Grief is still hitting me hard which means at times I forget meals. Now trying to plan more so I keep eating.

My observation today... tummy feels so so squishy and pinchable but sure it was swollen and firm before.
I have lost weight near 9 kg but can see it as clothes not much change 🤷‍♀️

My tummy is very squishy too. I'm hoping it tightens up soon as if this carries on I'll be tucking it in my waistband! 1.5 stone off since 01/01/25 and another 5 stone to go (that might be ambitious - I can't afford to stay on this for too much longer but hoping I can make some bloody decent headway whilst I can afford it)

dimples76 · 20/02/2025 07:12

I have not been experiencing any side effects so far but yesterday I felt dreadful after taking my 4th 2.5mg jab the night before - diarrhoea and headache. Fortunately I have woken up feeling much better. I think that I did not drink enough water yesterday. My 5 year old DD is poorly and I am trying to juggle taking care of her and work - in between that I did not take such good care of myself.

Darlinghag · 20/02/2025 10:42

Squishy stomach here too - well soft wherever there is fat to lose to be honest - even calves!!

It does not feel like loose skin, so feeling confident it will be OK later on!

Darlinghag · 20/02/2025 12:37

Finally had a response from ASDA re: maintenance plans and basically they have not got any in play and I should be aiming for maintenance without MJ. They have told me they will cut me off when they think I have reached a healthy BMI - which to them is typically 22-23 and definitely under 25, but wouldn’t specify when. I still have a long way to go - what with 25 being under 10st for me and 23 being 9st but I’m not going to risk going sticking with them too close to this.

I think once I hit BMI 30 I will be scouring providers with maintenance!

RobinEllacotStrike · 20/02/2025 12:56

Better to know I guess @Darlinghag so you can make plans.

Here is a link to my providers "maintance" plan FYI - it seems they do offer MJ for maintance. I hope this policy is still in play when I need to maintain - its a while off yet too.

It is such early days @Reginaphalangeeeee. I remember the first day I woke up and never cried during the my morning shower.........I then cried because I hadn't cried. It never goes away, but it does get easier to bear, I promise, it will take time. Hope the funeral arrangement are going ok. 💗

My tummy, both top and bottom of the B shape and very squishy. Like a non-lumpy bean-bag.

Boobs are ridiculously squishy too. I had a breast exam at the GP a couple of days ago and she was taking a picture of a lesion underneath my breast to send with a referral. She showed me the picture to get consent to send and the top of it was rows and rows of little crinkles of loose skin where she was holding my boob up to zoom in underneath it 😳 Said to her "could you get a better angle and smooth all that out!" 🤣

RobinEllacotStrike · 20/02/2025 13:20

I'm going for a routine breast scan next week - looking forward to smoothing my wrinkly boobs on those squishy plates 😁
