NSV: I'm back in my old favourite coat! 😀

Haven't been able to wear it since 2022/23 as it was getting harder, then impossible to zip up. I tried it this morning for the first time, and it zips up relatively comfortably (another few lbs off and it'll be positively roomy!).

I checked the label and it's a 22/24 which makes sense, as my top half has needed a size 26 for the past 18 months or so. Hopefully now moving down to the size 24s for my top half. Bottom half has always been smaller, so is now a comfortable size 22 - hopefully on the way to size 20 in a couple of months or so....

Thank you all! @InfoSecInTheCity that made me laugh 😃

Just informed DP I've lost 6 guinea pigs, he's all 🧐🤔

Onwards and downwards

I went for a walk this morning. I did early yoga and I can't bring myself to sea swim during the week anymore - becoming thinner has diminished my sea swimming superpower. So I went for a walk along the seaside - its a beautiful morning.

I wore my SeaSalt long coat - it is a sz 20. It had become too tight to wear - across the boobs. I could zip it up but the stuffed sausage look didn't make me feel great. This moring not only have I now got ample room in the boobage region the whole coat was loose.

NewbieMJ · 06/02/2025 15:04

I am FINALLY in the 15 stone zone. 15.13 this morning! Woo hoo. I am tantalisingly close to 3 stone (2 pounds away).

But, I have lost a 5 gallon bottle of water or an average human leg, so there is that😂 Thank you @InfoSecInTheCity

Had a job interview today which went well. My suit is lovely and loose and I could button up the jacket, no problem 🙂

It felt good to not be so conscious of my weight, which is the first thing that usually comes to mind.

Amarajean · 06/02/2025 16:52

Well done for getting in the 15 stone zone NuwbieMJ that's brilliant,
I've found a sweet spot for my scales and I'm still 109kg,I'm very pleased that I've lost those 2kg!

RobinEllacotStrike · 06/02/2025 17:12

well done @NewbieMJ

I am astonished to learn today that an elephants penis is BIGGER than the average human leg.

🐘🍆🦵🏽😁

never move your scales again!! 😁

I have to put mine in exactly the same spot. It's why once a month or so I pop into the GP's and weight there. Plus the GP scales always how a kilo or so less than my home scales.

QueenOfHiraeth · 06/02/2025 19:33

@InfoSecInTheCity thank you. I have lost an air-conditioning unit and will aim towards an elephant's penis with enthusiasm!

@RobinEllacotStrike OMG, we have so much in common. Have lost almost the same amount and I, too, have Seasalt coats for walking on the beach. Mine were uncomfortably tight but I am now back in them with room to spare.

Arglefraster · 06/02/2025 19:34

That'll be the next thread title sorted then 🤣🤣🤣

Hello! I love following this thread ❤️ Im considering mounjaro but am on prednisolone for my eczema. I know this steroid can affect blood sugar etc and was wondering if anyone on here took both prednisolone and mounjaro and could tell me if they found it ok?

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 06/02/2025 22:19

You would need to talk to your dermatologist or GP for advice, @Chrestomanciscat. Your eczema must be severe to be on long-term prednisolone. The anti-inflammatory effects of Mounjaro might be helpful but I have no idea how the two drugs would interact and I wouldn't want to mess about with pred - it is potent stuff.

Chrestomanciscat · 06/02/2025 22:33

Thanks velociraptors 💐 I've been on it about 6 weeks as i kept getting infections, its been a nightmare as the eczema and itching started with perimenopause. The pred stops on 11 of this month and im glad as I've hot loads if swelling and am hungry all the time! X

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 06/02/2025 22:44

You poor thing @Chrestomanciscat. I really hope it clears up for you soon Flowers

Good morning to everyone, Friday is my weigh in and jab day, so here's my end of week 31 update.

Current stats at the end of week 31:

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 95kg (14st 13 lbs), was 95.5kg (15st 0lbs) last week
GW: 90kg (14st 2 lbs) fourth interim goal.
Total of 97 pounds down, or 44kg.

Irritating to "only" have lost a pound or 0.5kg this week, especially as the scales mid week were showing 94 point something. Typical that it squeaks back to 95 on weigh day! I'm still taking 7.5mg, and I guess maybe I need to increase my exercise and re-focus on my diet for this coming week and see if that makes a difference. And perhaps next month I need to consider whether moving to 10mg might be appropriate.

Pleased to be in the 14 stone bracket though, it has been a good long while since I've seen it!

That is incredible though, Silence! I love seeing people's long term progress stats - gives me massive amounts of hope.

You're very nearly there - in well under a year - and still losing!

QueenOfHiraeth · 07/02/2025 14:49

@SilenceInside Remember too that weighing once a week leaves us at the mercy of fluctuating readings. If someone loses an average of a lb a week there'll be weeks of 0, 1, 2 and goodness knows what in there! Don't jump up dose on the strength of one week unless you are sure.

@Chrestomanciscat Have you tried a low histamine diet? Oestrogen levels are really variable in peri and can cause release of extra histamine and block the enzyme that metabolises it so anything allergy related can be much worse.
In addition to avoiding foods that precipitate it (food diary may be helpful), remember anything good for the gut microbiome may be of benefit as that help breakdown.
Apparently you can get a supplement of DAO (the enzyme that breaks it down) but I have no knowledge if that works or not

gimmemounjaro · 07/02/2025 15:00

I am not on prednisolone but have found that my eczema changed on MJ - happening at weird times with seemingly none of the usual triggers, itch much worse, I don't scratch if I can help it but managed to rub the skin off my palm at one point, it was awful.

I did a bit of reading about how diet can affect it, never been the case for me before but I figured MJ does radically change your digestion and everything is in the system for much longer so maybe.. I started recording flare ups and food diary, have now given up dairy and it's all calmed down to the same merely mildly annoying level that it was before. Hoping things go back to normal when I come off MJ so I can eat cheese again 🤞

SilenceInside · 07/02/2025 16:06

@MooBaggage thanks! It does now seem like a weird dream to think that I was 22st (I lost 2lbs before the first pen was delivered!) last year, and more than 20 stone for a couple of years before that. I think that an important lesson I've definitely learnt is that putting away the full length mirror and the scales was a bad idea for me. I need that accountability, rather than actively ignoring my weight/size.

@QueenOfHiraeth Diolch! I will definitely not move up to 10mg without a consistent plateau for a decent period of time. I've just started my next 7.5mg pen, so it'll be a couple of weeks before I need to decide what to order next.

JennyDreadful · 07/02/2025 16:46

Hello! So happy to find this group. I've been using Wegovy for almost a year and have lost around 45lbs. I have been in the max dose for around 5 months. I started at 18st 10 and am now 15st 6 ish. I am bout half way to where I would like to be which is around 12 stone.

I have stalled for the past few weeks and am thinking of switching to Mounjaro. This is partly price driven, I can start SheMed at the lowest MJ dose and the price stays at £159 whatever the dose.

Has anyone made the switch? What was starting at a low dose like in terms of keeping up momentum?

Wegovy has been truly life changing for me.

Snozzlemaid · 07/02/2025 16:56

@JennyDreadful You can get the lower doses a lot cheaper than that.
Take a look at monj.co.uk for the best prices and discount list.

alwaysscared · 07/02/2025 17:12

Can anyone recommend a multi vitamin? I'm getting so tired and have sores around my mouth, so think I need to start taking some vitamins.
NSV recently, had a message saying the nurse needed to speak to me about abnormal blood test (diabetes HBA1C). I looked at the result online and it looked perfect so I was a bit confused. Anyway, she rang and said that the results were so good that they wanted to check all was ok!! And to say well done 😂
Have gained 0.9lbs this week, which is frustrating, so I'm going to weigh everyday until it goes down again!

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 07/02/2025 17:52

Did they check your iron @alwaysscared ? Fatigue and sores around the mouth are signs of anaemia. A gentle iron like Floradix or Spatone is helpful but if you’re really low you can have an infusion and you won’t believe the difference it can make.

Great news on the blood sugars though. Well done Flowers

I have shocking fatigue some days too

I am going to extra vitamins this weekend too

alwaysscared · 07/02/2025 18:12

@VelociraptorsVelociRapping no, they didn't check my iron. I'm speaking to my doctor next week so I'll ask for some blood tests I think
@hellohellooo let me know what you get and how you get on!

QueenOfHiraeth · 07/02/2025 20:18

@alwaysscared Low B12 can also cause tiredness and cracking at the corners of the mouth so might be worth asking about that too
