@QueenOfHiraeth I'll ask for that too, thanks

Classic sign for me that my b12 is tanking is when I get cracks at the side of my mouth that hurt like hell. I ought to be on b12 injections but that ain't gonna happen- needle phobia. Lansinoh cream (it's meant for breastfeeding ladies) is great for sores on the skin around the mouth. Forms a waterproof barrier, technically edible and helps your skin to heal. Just don't use it if you're allergic to lanolin.

Had a surprising NSV today. Went to put my winter coat on and found out that the cat had pi$$ed on the sleeve it's an ongoing thing and my fault for not hanging my coat up where she cant get it. So I dug my other coat out. For a coat that last year I could barely do up, it's absolutely massive on me now. Even with a really thick cardigan on there was absolutely loads of room to spare. Looks like I'm going coat shopping tomorrow then.

Am wondering whether anyone is going to try and get their WLI on the NHS from March?

I thought I'd double check the NHS implemention date and book a phone appointment - might be worth a go? I've got a ton of medical reasons other than obesity and want to explain to the GP thst I think this will be a long term/forever medication for me, potentially.

Does anyone think it's worth a go? I know they've got a 12 year roll out plan, but am not sure what areas will be going first...

SilenceInside · 08/02/2025 08:26

I think you'd have to already be on the tier 3 weight management lists to be offered it in March, and also have a BMI higher than 35 plus a weight related health condition. It will be later in the year, date unspecified of course, before it might be offered by GPs. My BMI is already below 35 so I wouldn't qualify for March even if I was on the right list and I hope to be at a healthy weight by the summer, so I will miss the roll out.

gimmemounjaro · 08/02/2025 08:27

Definitely can't hurt to ask @MooBaggage, you might be just who they are looking to help first. Better to ask and be told no than to still be wondering six months down the line!

SilenceInside · 08/02/2025 08:36

@MooBaggage sorry, realised I was being a bit negative there, yes, I would definitely think it's worth asking about.

Morning everyone! I’ve been MIA a few days as work and social plans have been very busy!!

This week I have lost 3.2lbs!!! I am now 15st 5.4! This means I’ve hit my end of Jan target eventually! I would love to be under 15st by mid March.

Some thoughts this week:

  • When I am truly busy, I really really do not think about food on MJ. I think working from home when not stacked with calls etc gives me too much time to think about food, calories and macros. Busy works!!
  • Yoghurt is back in rotation - loving it this week with a little honey and some berries.
  • I’m not seeing the changes at the moment - my body, while obviously a lot smaller has retained its shape for the most part - and it means I don’t see what other people see. Instead, I feel it, like when sitting in seats out and about, when one of my nieces sits on my lap, when I take some steps at a quicker pace.
  • I am around the half way point of my loss! I started at 21st (before MJ) and I tentatively want to get to 10st. I think BMI wise I should be 4-7lbs lighter, but I don’t know if I will feel the need.

I haven’t caught up with the thread yet but I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Carolwithane · 08/02/2025 14:54

I hummed and hawed about ordering next pen and eventually decided to stick with 2.5mg which seems to be working well albeit slower than I'd hoped

Pretty glad today as took my 4th jag last night and had some pretty awful diarrhea this afternoon, probably TMI - apologies! Been relatively symptom free so far so hopefully just a wee blip

Anyway we move! Onwards and downwards 💪

WeAllHaveWings · 08/02/2025 20:18

Saturday weigh in this morning and a 1lb lost takes me to an 80lbs loss in total 😁

or.........4 car tyres. Now need to get rid of one more tyre, the spare tyre 🤣, to hit my next target!

End of week - 33 (5 x 2.5mg, 28 x 3.75mg)
SW - 21st 5lbs BMI 44.8
CW - 15st 09lbs BMI 32.8
Losses (2024) - 10,2,2,4,1,3,3,3,1,3,2,2,3,3,2,3,3,2,1,4,0,2,3,3,1,4,0
Losses (2025) - 0,3,2,1,3,1
Total loss - 5st 10lbs (80lbs), 26.8%
Next Target 🎯- 14st 3lb by end June (BMI < 30, 100lbs lost, Onederland!)

Had my first period 🩸in over 2 years this week (semi expected as menopause symptoms have ramped up since losing the weight, so started HRT recently) - I am vividly being reminded of the cramps, gnawing in the stomach, 💩, and increased appetite! 🙄 Hopefully once HRT settles in I don't get them often! Sending sympathy 💌 to everyone still dealing with periods every month! But HRT has absolutely been worth it so far for the improvement in sleep 😴 I am getting - starting to feel a little bit human again!

Glad to see so many of you are still here, posting and supporting each other.

Know what you mean @Darlinghag about feeling it rather than seeing it. Still the same B shaped belly needing tops with plenty of fabric at the front to disguise both the top and bottom. I feel it when I realise I am sitting with my legs crossed comfortably, or I can get on and off the couch without a groan, or I can get into and stay in a comfortable sleep position in bed without hips aching, or I can easily catch my 2 year old great-niece when she does a runner!

Hi lovely people
Random query, I usually inject on a Sunday but then find suppression low on weekend and eat more!
What day do you lovelies inject for maximum suppression sat and sun??

SilenceInside · 08/02/2025 20:57

@Rm2018 I do Friday morning and find that works for me.

@WeAllHaveWings congratulations on the 80 pound loss, what a great total 🛞🛞🛞🛞

WeAllHaveWings · 08/02/2025 20:58

For me it varies, when I feel suppressed and/or appetite is lower, throughout the week and not always on the same days. For example my injection day is Saturday. For various reasons I didn't inject until 7pm today, but I have not felt hungry all day. On Tuesday I was very hungry. For others it is a more linear effect of suppressed days 1-5 and less on 5-7.

I would try take notes over a couple of weeks of how you feel and adjust to suit your own response.

Congratulations that is an amazing loss! You must be very pleased?

Arglefraster · 08/02/2025 23:58

Congratulations wings that's a fantastic milestone!

@Rm2018 I inject on a Thursday morning & am absolutely knackered every Friday. I'm sticking to as low a dose as possible (very long way to go) so not sure about suppression per se but Monday/Tuesday tend to be my lowest calorie days. I think you'll have to experiment!

Hi lovely people

I inject on Sunday or Monday evening because my preference is max suppression in the working week which eases off by the weekend if I’m socialising or fancy a glass of wine. For max weekend suppression I’d inject Thursday night or Friday morning.

Yes I do the same - inject on a Monday so I might be in the mood for a glass of wine at the weekend! I've gone from something like 60+ units a week to maybe 2 (e.g. none this weekend as I've been busy) - my body must be so grateful 😮😊

I live on my own and see dp at the weekends, so find I like the suppression during the week to keep me on track, then dp is diabetic anyway, so we tend to be good together with our eating!

gimmemounjaro · 09/02/2025 10:51

Wow @MooBaggage that's an amazing achievement with the alcohol, do you feel better for it?
👏👏

Happy Sunday everyone, beautiful (dare I say) spring day here and weigh day for me:

SW: 241.2lbs
CW: 185.6lbs
GW: 160ish?

This week -1.5lbs
Total loss -55.6lbs

Next mini goal is to lose that pesky half pound which would mean 4 stone in total and 70% of the way to goal.

Then 4 more pounds until I'm in the 12s 😱

If I can manage an average of a pound a week from now on, I should be done by the end of July which would be almost 6 stone down in roughly a year.

After the pen I'm on and the one I've got in the fridge, hopefully only three to go. I'm on my way back down the doses, currently on 10mg, then planning another 10mg, 2 x 7.5mg and 1 x 5mg.

Then we regroup and decide what to do next. I am with MedExpress who will prescribe for another year as long as I stay above 160lbs / BMI 23.5. A lot will depend on how it feels to be on a lower dose, but so far I've gone from 15mg to 10mg and still feeling in control and happily losing weight.

InfoSecInTheCity · 09/02/2025 12:34

Congrats @WeAllHaveWings and @MooBaggage !

Weigh in day tomorrow, would be lovely if I was under 12 stone but not convinced I'll quite be there.

Confession time, I snuck out and got a little Botox on my forehead this morning, not planning on telling anyone in real life including the husband. I've been noticing the 11 lines more and more, and with my face looking generally better with the weight loss, those lines have just been really bugging me.

Feel like a bit of a hypocritical if I'm entirely honest because I generally prefer the aging gracefully look, but I just couldn't get past the fact that I wanted those lines gone so I can have at least a little while of being not fat and not wrinkly.

NearlyNewHip · 09/02/2025 12:41

Not sure if anyone can relate but I have very mixed and weird feelings today. I have lost a total of 5 and a half stone now, 3 and half with slimming world and when that stopped working for me and I started to slip, give up for the 100th time, another 2 stone now on MJ. I have another 3 ish stone to go. Well, yesterday my friends thought it would be nice (and I know it was meant in the nicest way) to pull up photos of me when I was at my highest weight.....instead of feeling proud and fab, I just felt.......ashamed and stupid for letting it get that bad and not realising. I'm not blind and I knew I was big but, I honestly didn't think it was that bad at the time. Sorry for the long post, just feel really weird and would rather forget I was ever that big rather than being cheered for how well I'm doing and how much I've lost. Hope that all makes some kind of sense x x x x

gimmemounjaro · 09/02/2025 12:54

Wtf @NearlyNewHip - that is a very weird thing for your friends to do and I'm not surprised you are a bit discombobulated by it. I know you think they meant it kindly, but hey, let's all look at how fat you were... really?

This might be completely irrelevant for your situation, but relationships can go a bit funny when you lose weight. Sometimes your size has meaning for other people and their own self-esteem, so they can't help but be a bit put out when you are no longer playing whatever role they have assigned you in the construction of their own self-worth.

Ultimately though, whatever their motives (and whether they even understand them) you are not doing this for them, their opinions on your body are neither here nor there. Either tell them you found it weird and you prefer to look forwards, or rise above it and move on. You are doing so so well, transforming your life 💪

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 09/02/2025 12:57

@NearlyNewHip I can absolutely relate. That was cruel of your friends and you might like to consider telling them so. Flowers

InfoSecInTheCity · 09/02/2025 12:58

@NearlyNewHip I get what you mean. My DD was going through some old photos the other day and found one of me that I took at my highest weight a few years ago, she looked at it looked at me and said "mummy was that you?" And I looked up at it and just sadly thought, fuck me, what a mess I looked.

gimmemounjaro · 09/02/2025 12:58

Also, good for you @InfoSecInTheCity
Is Botox a new thing for you? Are you pleased with the results?

I am not a botoxer (yet... haha, never say never) but am definitely taking better care of myself these days. I think because now it feels worth it and it didn't before, just another manifestation of that higher weight = lower value mindset we have all been indoctrinated with 😔

NearlyNewHip · 09/02/2025 13:01

There was one friend who was sort of whining that she's the fat one now.......
I'm going to rise above, it'll die down now that it's done. I did smile and play along but more because I didn't know what else to do. I shall see what comes out in the wash. Was planning on finding a new job when I'm at goal anyway (they were work friends). I want a fresh start when I'm done, because I'm one of those people that are convinced there's fatism in the workplace and slim people are viewed as more hard working
