The amount of iron in spatone is very little - 5mg. I'm often anaemic and when I have iron supplements prescribed, I get ferrous fumarate 322mg capsules which have 106mg of iron. You can buy it over the counter and it's a fairly gentle iron salt. Studies have shown that you get the best absorption from iron tablets if you take them every other day. I would personally just use Spatone to maintain an iron level, not if I was already low.

That’s really interesting. I’ve gone for Spatone as I don’t want to get an upset stomach and this was the only one my mum found she could take without getting a badly upset stomach.

I, stupidly, suffered a similar injury when I thought i was cool enough to have a go on my kids skateboard. In a skate park. In front of a LOT of people! I was only on the skateboard for seconds 😆
So you have my sympathy!

I had to go to a walk-in centre twice in a month- first time I’d skinned my knee quite comprehensively going down a helter skelter and then because I’d fallen off my bike. I did say to the nurse that I was actually aware I wasn’t 9 years old! So I’ll join the childhood injury club!

thornbury · 08/02/2025 12:36

I just finished week 3 (Wegovy) and only last 1lb this week, but I don't mind, it will come off in its own time. Total since 1 Jan is 9lbs, and while I know others lose more, I'm thrilled! I could up the dose but I think I'll stay at 0.5 for the next pen and maybe go up after that. I think the appetite suppression is fairly effective for me, which is proven by the three unopened packets of biscuits in my pantry!

MananaMananaPenelope · 08/02/2025 12:37

@0ncemorewithfee1ing I've suffered with anaemia for decades, spatone is more easily processed, bioavailability is much higher than with normal iron tablets. I'd just take two of the apple ones (better absorption) to see if it makes a difference. This explains it better than I can.

You could also try Floradix. I take the liquid iron daily.

Ugh had 3.75 jab Thursday night and felt pants for last two days - also had heavy period so that hasn’t helped. Barely managed half a yoghurt without feeling really sick and headachy. I was like this when first started so hopefully it was just go like before 🤢🤢🤢

MJalltheway · 08/02/2025 19:32

ive been feeling really full today, I've not really had this as a side effect before. Had a smoked mackerel fillet with salad for lunch 7 hours ago and it still feels like it's right at the bottom of my throat. 🤢Can't even think about eating anything else yet.
I guess this is either the medication starting to build up in my system or the mackerel really didn't agree with the Mounjaro!

Jjsmum2007 · 08/02/2025 22:48

Just had confirmation from Medexpress that they've price matched my 2.5mg (2nd round) with Chemist4U so I got 45.99 credit for next time, result! 😀

I had the same feeling in week 2 to 3, now not so much. I hope it will pass for you

I’ve got a new stone category this morning!! Never thought I’d be happy to see 12st 13 but I’m over the moon to be out of the 13s

Snoopibird · 09/02/2025 10:14

Does anyone know how quick med express are to respond to an order request. Taking my last 1st month pen tomorrow from superdrug and just ordered med express now. Really happy 7.5 kg down in 3 weeks

That’s interesting about the the mj ‘building up’ in your system. I’m doing my 4th jab tomorrow (my last 2.5) and yesterday I had the most horrendous v&d - I’m hoping it was just a bug and not mj! 🤞🏻

Upperroom · 09/02/2025 15:24

Although my official weigh in day is tomorrow I am so surprised by this. I have managed to get to 11st through random diets before however I then pile it back on/give up. If I can carry on and get below 11st I think I’ll really start to believe I can do it. I just wondered if anyone else has found they kind of don’t believe the scales if that makes sense?? I’m also just in disbelief I haven’t eaten crisps or chocolate in 3 weeks. The wine is still tempting though unfortunately….

If you use the shotsy app it gives you an estimate of how much is in your system at any point, once you log your jabs
It looks like this

After two days of feeling rough and barely managing to eat yesterday, felt fine today and starving! Still not as starving as I would have before the jab though, just a sensible breakfast plus medium (for me) size roast! Still feeling tired even after sleeping most of yesterday but did manage a 10k dog walk this morning 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

JoJothegerbil · 09/02/2025 21:29

I’ve just done the bonus dose from my 2.5mg pen. It was actually 2.9mg so I’m hoping the suppression ramps up a bit this week. I’ve got 5mg ready to go but I’m a bit nervous about going up so quickly.

I had a bad experience on Wegovy last year and a bout of diarrhoea this week which wasn’t fun. I think I might do 3.75 for the first couple of doses then go up to 5.

Weight-wise I’m 6.5lbs down in the first 3 weeks with weigh day tomorrow. 2lbs a week is slow but sustainable even though I’d really like to be a sylph already!

MJalltheway · 09/02/2025 22:38

Still feeling very full today. Had a decent lunch but then had to force myself to eat anything else for the rest of the day. Only managed about 1000 calories which is nowhere near enough. Hopefully it will start to subside over the next few days. I had been very sure about moving up to 5mg before I had this 3rd jab but I'm not sure at all now, will have to see how this week pans out.

The extra dose left in the syringe when you've taken all 4 measured amounts

Excuse my limited knowledge but what do i do with the left over bit?

You can
A) throw it away (what the pharmacists recommend)
B) try and break the pen with a hard twist to get a fifth dose, although a few people are saying this doesn't work now
C) use an insulin syringe (as linked a few times on this thread) to extract the fifth dose. Important to remember a full dose is 0.6ml.

and do i use it as a week 5 dose? is it a full dose?

As long as you get at least 0.6ml out, it will be a full dose. Most of us have got about 0.7ml so it has served as a handy step up towards the next level pen.

Love reading everyone's comments.

I'm on 1st week of 5mg after 4 weeks of 2.5mg. I'm hungrier since I've start 5mg and lots of food noise. So disappointed. I'm fighting myself to stay away from the fridge!!!!

Side effects -

  • period now 5 days late??? Is this normal? I see people talking about spotting but nothing about late?
  • BADLY constipated

12lbs down and about 40lbs to go.
