Lesson learnt tonight; rest of family voted for fish & chips for dinner and I thought maybe I could get away with just eating the fish. After a lengthy appointment with the toilet I now know that was a mistake! 😬

Just the thought of eating fish n chips makes me feel 🤢

We had our usual takeout but I just had a chicken tikka main with no sauce, pilau rice and some salad. It went down fine and is staying there so far! I still want to be able to have takeout once a week as it's my day off from cooking, it's really important to me to still eat out etc but just make healthy choices.

Usually I'd eat a load of snacks after a takeout too but I had no desire to do that at all, so I guess the mounjaro is mounjaro-ing!

That's fab Shirtyllama

14lbs in a stone so you're not far from losing a stone!

New thread! Number 3 already!

BreezyPeer · 24/01/2025 23:08

Great to see a new thread!

Snoopibird · 24/01/2025 23:13

A word of warning for those with constipation as a side effect. Don't do what I did and take 2 dulcolax. Biggest mistake I have just experienced. I think I'm going to be quite ill tonight and tomorrow!!

Pandora71 · 24/01/2025 23:15

Checking in!

mince3point14159265 · 24/01/2025 23:19

@mince3point14159265 thank you! I'm hoping I'm at the end but might be feeling quite rough and dehydrated tomorrow!

unicornsaremagical · 25/01/2025 05:24

thanks for the new thread! This constant cold feeling is getting so annoying now. i’m due to go away on a city break in a week for a few days and worried about keeping up my losses as eating out will not stay within the calories i’m allowing. Has anyone been away and still managed to lose?

MananaMananaPenelope · 25/01/2025 05:41

Checking in, here’s to a good weekend. 🤞

Hello, had my first jab yesterday morning. Don't feel any different! I'm not sure what I was expecting but have woken up thinking about breakfast which I thought wouldn't happen anymore. Only a 2.5 jab and I'm 19.7 stones so maybe I'm too heavy for this low dose to make a difference?

Yes I have just had a few nights away in Germany which was challenging as stayed with family so had no choice of what to eat and food was stodgy but I lost around a pound.

It is different for everyone. For me it took a few days to notice any difference and the effect got stronger after a couple of doses. Some need to be on higher doses before any any affect is noticed.

I think some people still think about food but get fuller quicker, lots of variety ad to how people react. However you react though you do still need to work on it and eat as healthy as possible and try to exercise, it just makes it easier and levels the playing field a bit.

unicornsaremagical · 25/01/2025 06:29

@Seaitoverthere at least it’s still a loss and it’s better than gaining. we have a hotel so lots of meals out but with a 5 year old so kid friendly places and hoping to stay within my calories although that’s probably unrealistic

Seaitoverthere · 25/01/2025 06:36

I don’t think it is unrealistic, well hopefully not . You’ll have a bit of choice which will help and probably be moving a fair bit. Fingers crossed it goes well, have a lovely time !

Big fan of peppermint tea here - I don't drink coffee or regular tea at all, haven't drunk tea since the 2000s and never liked coffee. I am sorry to tell you that it isn't a cure all! I drink 3-4 cups a day. And if it helped you lose weight, I wouldn't be here 😁

My favourite cold drink at the moment is Robinson's barley apple and pear squash, it's delicious - I am getting through a bottle a week if I'm at home a lot.

Thelittlestranger · 25/01/2025 08:09

@unicornsaremagical I went away last week and still lost. It was an active holiday, but I drank and ate what I wanted within reason. The difference was I didn't want to eat or drink as much as I usually would! I just had less of it all.

unicornsaremagical · 25/01/2025 08:13

@Thelittlestranger thats reassuring thank you, i think ours will be fairly active to as we have a little one so things like zoos etc with lots of walking, i am eating less so hopefully it will all work out.

Kevluc1 · 25/01/2025 08:16

My injection is due to be delivered today, hoping to start tonight. A late joiner for the January group. I’ve had a look through the posts and hopefully picked up some hints and tips!
I feel very nervous but after years of trying to lose weight I am also excited to try something new.
I’m 52, menopausal and have been waiting nearly a year for a hysterectomy. I’m soooo hoping that starting this alongside healthy eating and continuing at the gym will make 2025 the year I finally get back to a healthy weight.

Boohoo76 · 25/01/2025 08:31

W2 day 2. Bloating has thankfully gone this morning and I’ve weighed myself again to find that I have lost another pound. Which means I have lost five pounds in just over a week.

SW: 12.13
CW: 12.8
GW: 10.6

mince3point14159265 · 25/01/2025 08:40

Well done @Boohoo76 ! I can only dream of being 12.8! One day hopefully 🤞

Morning everyone

W3D7 weigh in and jab day… I’ve lost 3.7lbs which I’m happy with as it takes my total to 1st 2.9lbs.

This week I had a niggling headache for 2-3 days, I drink at least 3L of water a day so didn’t think it was dehydration. Did some reading and took myself a Dyoralite sachet which did the trick.

Ive also reintroduced my training this week after my herniated disc kicked off again. Some low impact Peloton rides and upper body weight / strengthening. I have a sedentary desk based job so feel like I’m getting into the zone 😊

Keep going everyone, we can do this x

mince3point14159265 · 25/01/2025 08:42

Fantastic loss @NikkiC1975 and well done for getting back into the exercise! You got this!

@unicornsaremagical I wouldn't get too hung up on losing even if you're away for a few days. We're in this for the long haul and still need to enjoy ourselves. Just try to make slightly more sensible choices and don't let it be an excuse for falling off the wagon when you get back. 🤗
