Those waiting for blood tests /first pens hope you hear soon!

Breaking into the little care package they sent tonight... constipation relief.

I know for a fact I haven't been drinking enough for the last couple of days but I am definitely one of those people who just don't get thirsty and have to remind myself to drink, last few days have been really busy and I've just forgotten 😐

Doesn't help that I haven't wanted to eat much either! Dehydration plus lack of volume = a bad time.

Anyway wish me luck 💩

Thanks @TLMoo 👋

I think I've been rejected

I have received a notification saying the clinicians are going to email me Sad no email received btw! Has anyone else had this following blood test?

Yes I did initially and it was because of my liver function results. Went to my GP and had the tests repeated and it's all come back fine, so sent a screenshot to SheMed and they've accepted me.

MrsMidgeMaisel · 29/01/2025 17:35

The only result I had in red was cholesterol - the 'good' cholesterol apparently so I'm a bit confused, would that make them not prescribe ?

MrsMidgeMaisel · 29/01/2025 17:36

Sorry everything else was green to add!

It shouldn't do. They probably just want to ask you something about it. I got my blood results in the morning and it was a good few hours before the email came through, so I wouldn't worry too much.

MrsMidgeMaisel · 29/01/2025 17:39

Thanks panic over Blush

I had this and panicked.

They wanted to know the date of my gallbladder surgery.

I then got my prescription the following day.

MrsMidgeMaisel · 29/01/2025 17:52

Ahhh ok perhaps it's about my other medications then? I didn't even think of that!!

Newshoesnewname · 29/01/2025 18:21

Those if you who are not telling anyone about MJ, what are you going to tell people when they notice your eating habits have changed / the weight starts coming off?

My work colleagues will notice straight away that I'm on another diet and will definitely ask the details.

I did the hypnosis gastric band a couple of years ago and lost a stone or two before giving up. I might just say I'm back on that. In fact I might start listening to it again anyway as it won't hurt and might help to cement the new habits by the time I get to goal. I won't actually be fibbing then either😇

bluesmartie83 · 29/01/2025 18:46

I managed my weigh in after work before I shuttle my son between his various music lessons! I'm ecstatic with a 6lb loss in my first week. I know it's water weight but it's still a win in my book! Going to take my 2nd injection when I get home so I can go to bed and hopefully sleep any issues away! I am a little nervous about the 2nd one - it seems a few people have found more side effects with this one! Fingers crossed I can power through. I can honestly say I am feeling the most optimistic I have done in such a long time. It feels like I have been liberated 😂 long may it continue.

I've told people I'm trying to eat healthier and lose some weight with intermittent fasting.

I'm quite sure they don't think I'll manage it (and I don't blame them for this, I've tried so many diets and none have worked for long) and usually I wouldn't tell people even if I was on a diet anyway nowadays, but I didn't want to suddenly lose a noticeable amount and there be no explanation.

So when I start to look a bit different I can refer back to months ago when I said I was eating healthier.

BruhWhy · 29/01/2025 18:59

And to be fair, intermittent fasting was the only thing that ever worked for me, and I do think it's a wonderful thing, so I don't feel guilty for lying 👀

I'm more worried about tomorrow's second jab than the first. Apart from being able to ignore chocolate and generally feeling more productive and less stressed no side effects to report.

I've gone and got myself some new scales and there is quite a difference between them.i don't particularly want to keep both sets. Do I just start using the new ones and accept the difference this week and track my losses properly from next week

bluesmartie83 · 29/01/2025 19:32

@Mieliwood if it was me I would definitely almost start fresh with my new scales going forward! I am nervous about the second jab hoping to keep going - I have a busy job but have shorter days on Thursday and Friday. I don't really have any time when I'm not busy with 2 teenage children with various interests so hopefully I can cope with anything that comes my way by keeping my mind occupied!

I know what you mean by busy - client wants me to get about 150 hours of work done by 11th Feb, so getting in lots of overtime. And my other half works away Monday to Friday so just me to deal with three kids, a dog, the cat and two birds, and the house and making sure the husband is looking after himself away because I'm a worrier 😆

But this week I have noticed a huge difference in my stress levels which if it's a side effect of meds I'll take it!!

bluesmartie83 · 29/01/2025 19:58

@Mieliwood sounds like you have a lot on and yes I agree I seem to be breezing through the stressful situations rather than getting frazzled so like you I will take it as a win! I will report back tomorrow as to how the 2nd jab goes! I'm in my office from 7am and my first meeting is scheduled at 7.45am so hopefully I will be able to at least present myself as present even if I'm feeling under the weather! No one at work knows but I am always trying to eat healthy or lose weight so they won't even notice that I'm on yet another diet! I'm hoping this will be my last need for intervention and I can reset myself and my brain haha

LucilleBlutheWink · 29/01/2025 21:01

I got my results back - came back high for TSH - 5.61. Anything over 5.5 is high. Has anyone had similar and still been approved? Thanks😊

Reginaphalangeeeee · 29/01/2025 22:11

@bluesmartie83 and @Mieliwood
I was worried about second jab too.
Guess the fear is it will build up in your system and give more side effect.

For me, the nausea/bloated fullness wasn't there but I had more fatigue . I injected Sunday night and Monday was really hard. I also felt less stressed but too far the other way and felt quite low in mood and energy for 1-2 days. Now day 3 is the sweet spot with reasonable suppression but energy is back and mood lifted.

This drug is strange yet, think it can dampen down more than just our appetite.

Good luck!

bluesmartie83 · 30/01/2025 06:49

Just a quick update after jab 2 last night. I'm feeling quite nauseous this morning but nothing unmanageable but I definitely know it's there. Hopefully as my day progresses this wears off! Have a great day everyone x

PurpleClare50 · 30/01/2025 07:00

Just taken the plunge and stuck some collagen supplements into my boots order. For anyone looking they have a 3 for 2 on supplements plus an additional 15% off. I have stocked 3 months worth for the price of 1 or there abouts. Flipping bargain.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 30/01/2025 07:04

@bluesmartie83 congratulations! For completing the first week and the loos. Thats great. Hope the nausea is okay. I struggle with nausea - a lot the next day then a bit in the mornings but I've told myself I'm birthing a new me this year (I got quite nauseaus when pregnant) and it will be worth it? You have an early work day!!
@Mieliwood another vote for Gk with the new scales (assuming there's a reason for the upgrade!). You will know why there's a blip. You also sound v busy!

I am going to have a think about mood after my next jab I think more like @Reginaphalangeeeee I am low initially (for me it's worked really well that I jab Friday as I am struggling a bit with side effects) but it could be because I'm tifed/fatigued but I amGetting More Done during the week. I am in process of assessment for adhd/asd so it's a bit relative as I struggle getting things done but yesterday and today (day before jab day) I am feeling less panicky.

I don't know if it's calming the anxiety, the adhd or it's because I'm not anxious around food/overeating and getting a slump. I'm fascinated.

Hmm I'm just musing in response to you all but I think there's definitely more going on isn't there. Maybe the body is calmer when it's not in a state about food/whatever it is it's regulating is regulated.

As for telling work - I'm v morbidly obese it will be months before anyone will notice so I'm not telling anyone at this stage. Not sure if I will other than a brush off. I will tell my 2 close colleagues if I lose a lot. It will be months and months though realistically.

I've told my husband. I do know side effects are rare but I wanted him aware just in case!

How long after your third check in do they take the money for the next pen? I need to make sure the money is in the right account in time!

BruhWhy · 30/01/2025 10:41

Second injection and 1st weigh-in day. Lost 6lbs.

How did he react @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden? Was he supportive? 🤞🏻
