Those waiting for blood tests /first pens hope you hear soon!

Okay my pen has arrived so I'm now on W1D1.

SW - 92kg
GW - 70kg (or slightly less to get my BMI into the safe zone)

Going to inject now as DH is at the gym and DC are at school/nursery so no interruptions 😌

themumformerlyknownas · 28/01/2025 11:51

@Newshoesnewname did you get your pen yet?

Newshoesnewname · 28/01/2025 13:46

@themumformerlyknownas I think it has been delivered today. I've not had any royal mail notifications but in the app it says delivered.

I'll know when I get home 🤞

kittykarate · 28/01/2025 13:58

Well that's Pen1Week4 done. This time the checkin all worked, my off camera injection was logged all ok. Since starting I have lost 4.5kg - not a huge amount compared to some on the Facebook group, but I have not done any calorie counting/fasting/extra work on top of the jab. The net effect has been that I've been eating the same crap but less of it.

Lotusbug · 28/01/2025 14:13

Hi everyone! Gosh I haven’t been back on this thread in weeks- life has been hectic! I hope everyone’s doing okay, I’ve just finished my first pen today! Filled my refill questionnaire in and it was approved half an hour later so that’s me going up to 5mg from next week!

Shmallow · 28/01/2025 14:17

@Lotusbug that's exciting, how's it been?

Lotusbug · 28/01/2025 14:46

@Shmallow its been great! I’ve been lucky on the side effect front and only really had a touch of heartburn so I can’t complain, I’m still nervous to go up to 5mg though 😂

I’m 18.2lb down now as of today and feeling really positive about the whole thing. Still getting used to the lack of food noise though, quiet thoughts are a novelty for me ha! How are you getting on?

SianyEvs40 · 28/01/2025 14:51

Afternoon everyone. Has anyone else struggled with fatigue since starting Mounjaro? I'm in week 1 and I can barely keep my eyes open (my first jab was on Saturday).

Please tell me this goes away as I'm struggling to keep my eyes open sat at my desk in work 😢😢

I should add, I'm definitely eating enough calories, drinking enough and I already take a vitamin B complex to try to help with tiredness caused by antidepressants.

Shmallow · 28/01/2025 15:07

Amazing progress @Lotusbug , well done! I'm similar, no real side effects - though not sure I'll be 18lbs down at the end of the pen, that's incredible.

I get a tiny bit of heartburn if I eat the wrong balance of stuff, that's all. Will next weigh on Thursday for the end of week 2 and my third jab. Exciting!

meatyryvita · 28/01/2025 08:42

I shall be obsessively refreshing the app today - thank you!

Have yours been approved today? I’ve had nothing as of yet 😕

CleverKhakiBear · 28/01/2025 17:06

@ZippyNewt my sister had her results yesterday and got approval today. They've already taken money from her account. She's just waiting for the pharmacies email x

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 28/01/2025 17:07

@Lotusbug Great to see your update! Wow amazing loss! I think you're a few days ahead of me. I have the 5mg pen in the fridge but I don't take it until Friday week !

I'm a bit nervous about going up to 5 but have told myself it's the only time the dose will actually double and I'll have the weekend to weather the worst of it!

I've struggled with nausea (got a bit better with each dose - now its just mornings) and real fatigue so worried that will get worse but I'd like to get to 5 and weather it out.

Hope everyone is okay- really sorry to hear about the posters with the more scary side effects :(

Well done all of you finishing your first pen/a few weeks in. Some amazing losses and really positive to hear about (lack of) food noise.

Can I ask, are you counting calories alongside or tracking protein etc? And are you taking any supplements?

ZippyNewt · 28/01/2025 17:05

I just got the email with the payment receipt. No change in the app yet. You’ll likely get yours very shortly - fingers crossed!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 28/01/2025 17:31

I'm not tracking calories/ macros/ whatever as I in the past have got obsessional and I want to eventually just eat normally...

But I have cut out UPF on the whole and want to spend the year feeding my body whole food if I can. I do wonder after reading Chris VT IF UPF is part of the reason for the obesity crisis in the frost place.

I completely get that lots of people do do it through calories/macros etc I just couldn't keep it up for a year!

I think we probably need to pay attention to protein but so far I've just got as far as making sure I eat it!

On another note I noticed on a thread (can't remember if it was this one or another one!) I watched the Oprah podcasts and they were really life affirming about the difference glp-1s make and was great to watch. The Dr there seemed to think it might be lifelong for a lot of us though 😬. I guess we don't really know yet.

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer. I’ve watched part of the Oprah podcasts but keep getting interrupted. Need to take myself to bed early and make my way through

I've been almost being more mindful about what I eat rather than tracking. Only eating when I'm hungry which is at the usual eating times but finding I'm only wanting a smaller portion so making sure that it's worth eating! I also have been prior to starting this a week ago taking collagen and magnesium which as a woman in her early 40s has really helped me. I'm wanting this to be a lifestyle change - maybe to retrain my brain but we shall see?

tinyemmy · 28/01/2025 18:26

Last jab of 2.5mg tomorrow, I've got 5mg in the fridge and I can't wait. I've been feeling quite hungry the last couple of days. I've managed to still skip breakfast and snacks and keep pudding to one item. I think this will be my long term approach. I've also been following the slimming world way of eating as I think it is healthy and I've been using their hifi bars to keep my fibre up.
I've pretty much had no side effects, the odd bit of indigestion and perhaps a bit of nausea one day. I definitely notice the suppression disappearing by the end of the week. I think I will be one of those who keeps taking it long term, I find sticking to healthy eating and not binge eating easy on mj and I don't want the food noise to return. I've lost weight before but never kept it off my weight graph looks very similar to the mj one!!

Oh wow! I had my results yesterday morning but not heard anything yet. Panic mode set in now that I’m not going to get accepted 😕

FollyDear · 28/01/2025 19:14

@ZippyNewt my results took longer to come through than most people's. I messaged them and they said 24-48hrs. It was definitely over 24 but under 48 that I got mine. Try not to stress, my results were all over the place and I got accepted.

Panic over, approval literally just popped in my inbox. Thanks for the confidence boost. Just hope it’ arrives soon, was hoping to start tomorrow as didn’t want to be poorly over DS birthday on Friday. I’ve spent too much reading about shemed process and side effects 🥱

I’ve just done my first injection today too with same starting weight. Hoping to get to 65kg.
So far so good, but feel as if I’m just waiting for the side effects to kick in now 😬

I hear you - been hyper aware of any twinge all day but think I'm just overthinking. Generally okay so far thankfully!

65kg is a great goal, we can be MJ buddies 🙌

TLMoo · 28/01/2025 21:02

Well done on all of the losses everyone ❤️

And good luck to those waiting for their pens!

I am SO happy to be here and taking this meditation it's my 3rd jab tomorrow and so far I've had no side effects and I'm feeling so good on it.

Weirdly I haven't had a Pepsi max in 2 weeks (this is really incredible for me as I have been addicted for YEARS I'm talking several cans a day!) and even stranger I seem to have stopped biting my nails 😂 again, decades long nail biter over here and I'm just unconsciously not doing it anymore!???

3rd weigh in tomorrow and I'm 10lb down in 2 weeks. I just can't wait to see how we are all doing in a couple of months.

My ONLY concern and I'm very interested to know peoples thoughts (ties in with the Oprah comments!!) I don't think I could come off this now......I can't imagine to going back to how I was, I feel more in control than I ever have in my life! Not read too much on micro dosing but I will be looking into it nearer the end of this journey with SheMed that's for sure! Also hoping it's a bit more affordable in 12 months!
