I stopped in lidl this morning to pick up some protein drinks, yoghurts and some nuts and porridge toppings (flax and chia seeds) to up my protein and fibre. Heard it helps with digestive stuff! I've done a bit of a meal plan for myself, some stir fries, jacket potatoes and salmon and rice. Trying to go easy on the eggs though considering my cholesterol.

I'm feeling a bit dizzy this evening. Read that it's a commonly reported side effect so 🤞🏻 that's all I get!

Do have a look in lidl though they've got a protein event on, v cheap

UPDATE

I contacted SheMed about having to move up the dosage and this is what they replied:

The licensed maintenance doses for this treatment are 5mg and 10mg, while 2.5mg is not approved as a maintenance dose. The appropriate dose depends on the patient's progress, including weight loss and overall response to treatment.

This dosing approach follows agreed clinical protocols and is not unique to SheMed. Let us know if you need further clarification.

I’m doing my second jab tomorrow 😊

Dizziness and lightheaded has been my main side effect. Started 3 hours after jab.
I’m sure it’s low blood sugar, I find making sure I eat something every few hours, and prioritising protein helps.

Will definitely check out Lidl! The protein range in Aldi is my go to so far!

Must be, just had some homemade pork egg fried rice and broccoli and I feel instantly better

Hi all, W3D1 - had my 3rd jab this morning with another small loss so still going in the right direction. No side effects since W1 but the appetite suppression is definitely reducing.
Again massively impressed with SheMed - I completed the questionnaire prompted by 3rd jab this morning and just received a call from one of their Pharmacists to talk through next steps. Agreed to increase to 5mg which will hopefully bring the return of that lovely feeling of not battling the urge to eat everything in sight!
Great to have so many new starters on here, I’m enjoying hearing other people’s experiences and finding this group a great support, especially as I’ve not told anyone other than my OH who is a sceptic🙄

AuntieOnSheMed · 23/01/2025 20:32

Oh my god oh my god! I’ve been approved. My first injection is due tomorrow! Any advice for how to prep for it?

BruhWhy · 23/01/2025 20:39

God I'm absolutely freezing. Sat under a heated blanket cranked all the way up and still shivering, like I have the chills from the flu. How strange.

I'll take the mounjaro chills over the mounjaro shits all day long though.

Give yourself a good chunk of undisturbed time to lay out everything you need and make the check-in call. Have the box the pen comes in handy because they'll want to scan the QR code on it, and they'll want to weigh you. Whole thing took less than 2 minutes for me!

Good luck, how exciting 😁

Thank you so much! I have butterflies about the whole thing!

Seeing my results today was quite a relief though, for a while I’ve been worried about things like my thyroid or being pre-diabetic but nothing was too alarming or too high.

@Earthgirl3971 I had lentil salad for lunch and soup for dinner. Going to get properly sorted for tomorrow. It's really wierd how I just don't feel hungry. Came on after about 2 hours.

I'm not storing mine in the fridge, is anyone else not doing this?

@BruhWhy hope you get away with just the cold side effects!

I think that's coming on for me aswell. I always tend to get cold with new medication. I was the same with the blood thinners I've had to take in the past! Though like you ill take chills over shits aswell 🤣 though I'm a bit worried these chills are the start of the shits building up.. ....

I plan to pick up some brown carbs rather than refined. That's my only plan so far in making a change for this week. Will have savoury breakfasts and I'll take apple cider vinegar before meals.

I'm looking forward to going shopping..

I have to be careful to not go too gung ho on myself and come out with a trolleyful and forget to pick up the regular shopping and goodies that the kids want. 🫣 X

Side effects log day 1. I've woke up really thirsty this morning and with what I think could be the beginning of a headache. I've drank 400ml of water upon waking I hope that sorts it out. Funny, thirst and head aches are side effects I've have on other medication like anti depressants so I hope that's it for me.

I've just looked in the app to report this side effects but can see there's no log to do this (and therefore not collected by them afterwards) if you report a side effect then it's an official report and they'll call you. Not needed for this.

I'll need to keep a separate log in notes app and look for my own patterns.

They are missing a trick not collecting all of the glorious side effects data for their study I think.

I've also been very thirsty and just not really fussed by food, I had slight dizziness but I've eaten now and that has passed.

I've downloaded an app called shotsy to monitor side effects.
It's specifically for MJ and free

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 24/01/2025 07:17

Morning!!

Welcome to those who have joined the thread for the first time and congratulations on those doing their first dose especially!!

Great to hear everyone's updates. It's my shot 3 day - I decided to check in early tk weigh and will do the jab after work.

0.9kg this week and it could technically be less as I've moved to morning weighing but it is what it is and it's a long term game we're playing.

Side effects - I was struggling with nausea and fatigue but that wore off midweek thankfully. I actually found myself picking at some leftovers yesterday for the first time (did make me wonder if the nausea was the reason I d been eating less!!).

After your third check in you get to do the feedback/next short order. They do ask if you're happy to go up. And ask about side effe ts too.

I assumed each time they jab they ask you to do the side effects form so I thought they were collecting that but maybe not?? I might not keep telling them if not! It's worth those of us that have the chills ticking the other box so they know about it I think. But there is a space to write other on the 3rd week refill questionnaire.

I've seen they take payment when it goes through so be wary that means 2 lots of 99 in the first month in effect. I like that it's this early though as it gives time to get the prescription and have the next pen ready!

I had my first yesterday and have woken up the same. I've already had 1 litre of water (been up since 5 - bloody wind woke the dog up). Have a niggling headache but I'm prone to migraines that cripple me when the weather is bad so can't assume it's the jab.

I haven't really eaten since I had the jab but again that's quite normal for me.

I'm going to make some late breakfast when I've got back from a meeting and see how I go.

All this added water means extra trips up and down the stairs so that will help

Earthgirl3971 · 24/01/2025 07:52

Anyone worried about the school 'run' this morning. I'm worried about an instant bout of diarrhoea occuring on the way that I can't deal with.

I have drinks at work today for a leaving do, but I don't think I'll go. Want to stay close to home, healthy food and drink and a toilet. X

Bananaramram · 24/01/2025 07:56

Day 6 but shot two today! (Wanted to switch from Saturday to Friday for max weekend suppression). I’m down 4.9 pounds so I am thrilled with that! So far no real side effects. A few headaches when I’ve woken up but I get a lot of headaches so possibly unrelated.

I’ve got suppression but I can still eat a healthy amount. I think it’s how normal people must feel!

Went for dinner at Bill’s last night, was shocked when I looked closely at the calories listed. 1300 for a burger! 947 for a salad! I had the pan fried sea bass with green beans and tabbouleh, which was only 547 and I enjoyed it and even left a little. Amazing how much easier it is to focus on these little things.

OneAzureMaker · 24/01/2025 08:22

Shot 3 this morning, 1kg lost, 5.2kg in total. I have to say I'm surprised it's only a kilo this week given that I didn't eat for 2 days and spent the whole time on the loo!!!

Questionnaire filled out for the next pen. I find the symptoms questionnaire really clunky. Interesting that payment has been taken already!

Shmallow · 24/01/2025 08:25

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden that's about 2lbs which is a fab healthy rate of weightloss! It all adds up.

I'm off home today to resume normality. I definitely think suppression was wearing off by the end of the week as this morning I didn't really want any breakfast at all. I've had a slice of this weird bread I've got but don't think I'll be hungry for quite a while later.

Sounds like next shot I'll get to order the next pen which is a relief as it'll be here for my holiday. The only thing that worries me a bit is that I've had zero side effects here and if I go up a dose then fly home overnight the next day it might not be pretty.... Numan suggest if you miss a shot you can still take it up to 2 days later so I wonder about weighing but not jabbing until I'm home, which will be 36 hours after I'm due to jab.

BruhWhy · 24/01/2025 08:28

I'm sat in the uni café smelling hash browns and bacon and I couldn't want anything less.

Is this... magic?

ForPeachSake · 24/01/2025 08:34

Morning all! I have changed my jab day so check in was done at 6:20 this morning sorry @Reginaphalangeeeee we're not on the same day anymore. I will then jab tonight after work. I have lost 6lb this week! Absolutely stunned, obviously not expecting every week to be like this but it is a nice start, hope everyone is okay

bluesmartie83 · 24/01/2025 08:57

I hope everyone is staying safe x I'm definitely feeling less food noise and not hungry as much as normal. No real side effects at the moment except a little nauseous in the morning and I little gassy (burps) nothing nasty just never had that before. I will take this as a win. I am W1 D2 - long may it continue.

kittykarate · 24/01/2025 09:00

I think the moderators need to get a better grip on the facebook group, they've got a load TeamRH people in there getting obsessive about macros and calories. I'm not very comfortable with TeamRH at all, the fella acts like a pound shop Andrew Tate and bullies people who don't succeed on his program. He made it big by 'telling it like it is' or as I like to call it, being a gobshite.

Needtomust96 · 24/01/2025 09:44

Only week 1 day 5, but absolutely no side effects and also no appetite reduction. I have been consciously eating better, but ravenous all the time too. Anyone else?
