Jab number 3 done, ordered the 5mg pen this morning as suppression wears of around day 5/6 on 2.5. Week 1 loss was 6lbs, week 2 loss is also 6lb so only 2lb of a stone in two weeks, i’m happy with that. Though feeling nauseous this time hoping it’s not the jab as i’ve been lucky so far.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 24/01/2025 06:13

Wow @unicornsaremagical that's a fantastic loss. I only lost 1kg this week!! But also just ordered next pen (I think it will be 5kg) I've been getting nausea around in the mornings and around day 2-4. I keep thinking of it like pregnancy though and that was worth it. This is birthing a new me...

unicornsaremagical · 24/01/2025 06:18

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden Thank you! i’m very pleased. now that i think of it, it is very similar to the sicky feeling i had when pregnant. That’s a great way to look at it though. 2lbs is still a win, definitely going in the right direction, well done

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 24/01/2025 06:21

Just realised I wrote 5kg pen... That might be excessive 😂.

I'm not liking the nausea/tiredness so I'm having to sell it to myself! I'm relived I've not actually vomited though as I know some have.

RosaBaby2 · 24/01/2025 06:29

Jab 5 today.

Just weighed and have lost 5lb so 16lbs in total for first 4 weeks! I stayed the same last week so really pleased with this. Still need to remind myself it's not going to happen overnight!!

Going go try and break my pen now, will let you know how it goes.

Changingnameagain · 24/01/2025 06:35

Just checking in and it is great to read about people's losses this week! Welcome to new joiners too!
So I am at start of week 4- did jab 4 last night. I have my next pen ready which is 5mg but I think I'm going to stay on the 2.5 another week and try and extract golden dose if possible although haven't bought needles and syringes to do so just going to try and do it normal way and see...

In 3 weeks and 1 day I have lost 20lbs and my BMI has dropped by 2.9
I3m so happy and can really see the difference around my abdomen already in side profile in the mirror although interestingly my waist measurement hasn't really changed much.
I've got better at getting my protein in- Warburton protein bagels and Skyr protein yoghurt and eggs are helping me there.
First 2 weeks I was constipated but weirdly this week I haven't been at all- not sure why as I'm eating Flax seed the same amount of times this week as previous. I have been better with my water this week than last I think and drinking around 2.2 litres a day.

-5lbs for my first loss in Week 1 😊 second jab last night before bed.

Definitely noticed my appetite came back slowly around day 4/5 after major suppression the first few days. That being said, I've still made much better choices than before with my meals and snacking has reduced massively 😊 really pleased. Fingers crossed for another good loss Week 2!

SW 170lbs
CW 166.2lbs

it’s been a strange week! On day 2 I was convinced this wasn’t for me as it scared me that all my glands were up in my neck and shoulders were tender to touch etc…that has gone by day 3. I am not snacking and every now and then think ohh I’m hungry but then don’t really want to eat once I’ve made it. But I am making sure I’m getting protein in - and eating what I can. I’m 5ft 1 and so my tdee comes in at 1300 for weight loss. I’m eating around 1000 ish at the moment so will try and get some more in. This is what I always struggled with before calorie counting. I always went over. I did have a small glass of wine last night with my dh which was really nice and I actually enjoyed it but had no desire for more. Exercising every day too. Also making sure I eat 4 or 5 prunes a day with some Greek yogurt to avoid any constipation!

Grecianrainbow · 24/01/2025 07:42

SW 14st 7.5lb
CW 14st 1 lb (-1) loss (-6.5 total)
GW 10st

Happy with this loss in 3 weeks, 1lb loss this week, this is where I might lose motivation but hopefully not this time!!

RosaBaby2 · 24/01/2025 07:43

'Bonus' dose administered. Just had to grip the pen with my teeth to twist past the priming line, then twisted as normal. Fabulous! I have a 5mg pen waiting in the fridge for next week but not sure yet if I will go up. Have a nice weekend all and stay safe if you've got storms.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 24/01/2025 07:44

@Changingnameagain 20lbs is crazy!!! Fantastic result.

kmreeve · 24/01/2025 07:46

I know … but I can’t help feel deflated. It’s week 2 day 4 and I haven’t lost a single gram.

I lost 6lbs the first week and was looking forward to at least 2-3 this week, but it’s looking not promising :(

of course, I’ll stick with and trust the process - just disappointed is all.

Seaitoverthere · 24/01/2025 07:53

1.2lb loss this week so 6.8lbs total for 4 weeks which I am pleased with and slightly above the 1.5lb a week I am aiming at. I started way back in November 2023 with periods of maintenance as had an op and didn’t want to lose whilst recovering. Loss since I started is 3 stone and I am a few pounds off being merely obese rather than morbidly obese.

HeavyHeidi · 24/01/2025 07:57

Can I join you too?

SW 78 kg in early january
CW this morning 76 kg, at least lost the Christmas weight on my own - but have been tracking calories like a woman obsessed, and also cut out all alcohol. So was expecting more of a loss really.
GW 62 kg. Well, dream weight really, I'd be happy with 65.

Had my first jab yesterday. So far, doesn't feel any different. No immediate side effects either.

myladyjane · 24/01/2025 08:08

Is anyone else borderline phobic about getting on the scales? One of the reasons I put off starting was I couldn't face the weighing and the mental baggage i felt. Teen of the 90s meant so much self worth was wrapped up in what they read and a bad result would wreak my day.

We got rid of ours completely a few years ago but the consequence was when I did finally get some a couple of weeks ago, I weighed 3 stone heavier than last time I weighed and a stone heavier than i estimated.

My dh bless him keeps saying to me 'it's just data it has no meaning or value. Just data).

This is a long way of saying I did my first week weigh in (just once, no getting on or off or moving the scales to a different bit of the floor, although still naked after a poo).

6lb off which is a bmi point. Second jab last night, woke up feeling sick and very off but also think I'm getting a cold so not sure what is what.

myladyjane · 24/01/2025 08:11

@kmreeve the second week weigh in is always a bit frap I've found. Bodies don't like change and all that water weight has gone. It won't change every week.

Also hormones. We all go on about period bloating but back when I was an obsessive weigher, I noticed I always put on 3lb on ovulation time. It was mad. Off again a day later.

cherrycherryblossom · 24/01/2025 08:14

Second dose done and have lost 9lbs in week one. Yes I know - water weight, losses will slow down, should be aiming for smaller losses blah blah blah but that’s what the scales are saying so who am I to argue 😆week one went very smoothly, hoping this week is the same but I’m a bit of pessimist generally.

Well done everyone, it’s a big thing to make that decision to start on MJ but we’re doing it for the right reasons which is to improve our health.

SW - 13st
CW - 12st 5lbs

cherrycherryblossom · 24/01/2025 08:20

@myladyjane I know exactly what you mean! Being a teen in the 90s was no mean feat looking back. Hell of a time especially for me who was definitely NOT the thin/skinny ideal that was impressed on us. I can’t shift the mindset of the number on the scales being the be all and end all.

Well done on your loss 😊

Thelittlestranger · 24/01/2025 08:22

@myladyjane - could you not weigh and focus on non weight wins? Trousers, measuring tape etc? (I could 'put on' 4lbs after a Dominos)

For those disappointed in 2lb losses - you are losing! This is great news! If you average 1-2lb losses, by Easter that will be a stone or two! Think of how long it has taken to come on - it's going to take a similar amount of time eventually to come off...stick with it, it will be worth it!!

I've eaten under my cals the last few days to enjoy a glass of fizz later, looking forward to that. Have half hour weight session planned shortly, and it's Friday. Feeling good with the journey today.

Lovetoridemybicycle · 24/01/2025 08:38

I'm due my second jab today. 3lb down in first week. Burping alot and for first couple of nights the vivid dreams appeared. No suppression at all for the last 2 days, in fact I just had my usual porridge for breakfast and my tummy is rumbling already! I will definitely be going up to 5ml next time! I've got a long haul with at least 8 stone to lose.

Finallydoingit24 · 24/01/2025 08:40

2 lb in a week is amazing loss! It definitely adds up. When I was prescribed Mounjaro the doctor put a note saying he recommended no more than 5% weight loss in 6 months. I want to and intend to lose more than that but it shows that the injections aren’t intended to produce super fast losses.

MananaMananaPenelope · 24/01/2025 09:20

Good morning, can I join please, first dose yesterday, currently feel ok, maybe a bit nauseous, nothing too noticeable.

I’d like to lose 4st. Post chemotherapy weight gain, now menopausal and I just can’t shift it/keep losing and gaining the same 4lb.

My consultant recommended giving mounjaro a go, we were talking about my metabolism being a bit screwed up, chemo, injected hormones and the menopause 🤯 together. I’ve thought about it for months! I’m seeing my consultant in a month, would be great to have started losing weight by then.

Lovely to read so many positives on this thread.

Yesterday I ate home made soup for lunch and a chicken stir fry with egg noodles for dinner. I still feel full. I’m planning on using the medication to help me fast and eat during a 1pm- 8pm window.

The difference for me yesterday was no bread roll with lunch and no 🍷 with dinner, I always have a glass of 🍷 on Thursday as it’s the end of my working week.

I’m planning on eating my normal food, which is homemade and healthy 90% of the time, just in that window. Today will be homemade soup and a salmon fillet with baby veg for dinner (normal sort of dinner for me).

I need this to work, I average 1500 calories per day generally, I’ve been tracking on nutracheck for 18 months, dessert on a Sunday, glass of wine three nights a week (bottle of red a week).

I’m miserable being fat so 🤞.

MananaMananaPenelope · 24/01/2025 09:27

Oh I can’t edit but I also skipped my porridge and fruit compote yesterday morning. So I guess that’s -500 cals on day one.

ticketiboo · 24/01/2025 09:44

3rd injection for me today.
Down 6lb in week one and nearly 3 in week 2, so nearly 9lb in total.
Very pleased, but have been STARVING the last couple of days, so hoping this dose helps. I get full quickly but then am hungry again half an hour later. It’s making me desperate to get to 5mg but I need to have patience!
SW 98.9kg
CW 95.8kg
GW - based on size, I’m an 18 and I really want to be at least a comfortable 14-16.

Jins · 24/01/2025 09:54

Week 2 weigh for me and my average loss for the week is 2.6lbs. Very happy with that after my no change first week.
