I found myself reaching for the fridge today - stuck to healthy bits, and thought I had eaten more than usual. Turns out I have still only had less than 1100 cals, and been to the gym. Tracking calories can be boring, but I think it's such an essential part of this process understanding what you can, and have eaten.

Also, not as suppressed as last week - but I wouldn't want to be. That level, with my body getting used to the 3rd shot wasn't a good feeling. This week feels much more normal.

Anyone else experience really variable levels of hunger?

Yesterday I was hungry, I ate probably 1,500 calories. W3D4
Today, I wasn't hungry, I ate probably 700 calories. W3D5

On both days I did a lot of exercise but felt very different levels of hunger in a fairly unpredictable way!

Yes me 🙋‍♀️ not hungry at all Sunday or yesterday, between 1000-1200 calories.

Today much hungrier and a few snacks. Nearly 1800! I'm doing Team RH GLP-1 plan and my recommended calories are 2000, so still under.

Tomorrow is Day 6, can feel the hunger a bit more today but still made sensible choices.

W4 D5-no weight loss again this week-scales have stubbornly stayed at 81.7kgs, but I am noticing definite changes in my body, particularly upper arms, thighs and stomach. I can feel my obliques under the layers (and layers and layers!) of stomach fat-I have a huge tummy with slimmer arms and legs). I haven’t felt them for years!!

My appetite has definitely returned a bit, hovering at around 1000 cals as opposed to the 800 I was consuming, but I’m massively disgusted by processed snacks, which is a huge bonus, although some chocolate has crept in. I just crave fresh fruit and veg. I had dinner for the first time last night-the girls wanted veggie fingers with mash and beans. I could eat a few forkfuls of beans and a bit of mash, but couldn’t stomach a veggie finger.

Definitely measure @ThisisnotwhatIhadplanned - my weight loss is looking like it’ll be a lb this week but at the end of 3 weeks I’ve lost 2” off my waist. I’m delighted with that.

Bit disappointed with only a 1.6lb loss this week, I've not gone over 1200 cals any day even though I've been hungrier. I'm on the progesterone phase of my hrt so hoping that might be causing some water retention. Jab 4 done, onwards and downwards!

Only day 5 today. Have not weighed in yet since I started but tried on a jacket that was snug on the arms a few weeks ago and it was much less snug so something is happening...more hungry yesterday than in previous days. Trying to focus on the goal!

W2 D5 and I’m definitely feeling a bit hungrier today. I’ve had slight losses every day this week and I’m expecting my weekly average to be about 2lbs. A huge improvement on last week’s no change but still within natural fluctuation territory. Unless things change in the next two weeks I’ll definitely be ordering a 5mg pen but I’ll use the bonus dose and a 1.25mg dose from the new pen to step it up more gradually. DH has brought me a bag of insulin needles from work and I think I’ll be using them going forward. I find the pen very awkward to use compared to a traditional syringe which I’m pretty handy with.

Controversially I’m ditching calorie counting etc going forward as well. In the past I lost a significant amount of weight by low carbing and maintained for over 10 years. I only started to gain weight again after getting my coeliac and other diagnoses. This week I’ve been working through my consultant’s diet sheet to see where I can cut carbs without adding too much fibre and I have a plan!

Don’t get me wrong - I’ve lost weight by calorie control in the past but never maintained that loss. I’m just determined that this will be my last weight loss journey and I’m using this month on 2.5mg to experiment a bit without the food noise getting in the way. MJ has given me the will power and space to do that.

@Jins you may find if you use an insulin syringe to get your bonus dose that you'll have more than 0.6ml.
Reading through the other threads you might have as much as 0.8ml, which may save you messing with the next pen to get a partial dose.

W4 D1 - jabbed last night, weighed this morning. I've lost just a bit over 4 kg in the 3 weeks since starting. Part of me wants this to go faster, but I know it's a good rate to lose weight... I think I'm past the days where I could easily shed that amount in a week 😔 Heigh - ho.

I think I will try to get the golden dose, hopefully it'll be a bit more than 2.5 mg, like @Usernamesarenoteasy has mentioned!

W1 d1. By the evening I felt so sick and horrible. But woke up this morning d2 not feeling starving like I normally do and not craving my coffee. I had a coffee anyway as I don't want a head ache. Only feeling slightly hungry now at 9:30 but not like normal. I'm quite amazed!

My order with my first pen was meant to come on Friday but it's arriving today, so I don't know if I should just do it this evening! I WFH so shouldn't be an issue really if I have any side effects...

Soup - bit random but I tried a tin of Baxter’s minestrone this week and really enjoyed it - I fancied something salty and it hit the spot and only 150 cals per tin, it does have a few bits of pasta in though. Obviously a homemade veg soup is better but I’m lazy
I went through a phase of having beans on portobello mushrooms when I was low carbing (I LOVE mushrooms 🍄)
Also bacon etc (trim the fat off or buy the medallions)

W1 D6 - Im still feeling really good suppression but I know it’s very early days for me. One small NSV is I went for a walk yesterday and my everyday coat is definitely not as tight as usual. I’m hanging in until 2nd jab on Friday to weigh myself though. I’m also finding I’m naturally craving healthy foods, I don’t fancy crisps etc at all whereas usually I’d eat a couple of bags a day.

Ive walked every day this week, usually about 3 miles but did a 6 mile yesterday.

Other things I’ve noticed: my sleep is a bit erratic in that I’m not getting to sleep until the early hours some nights (but this is quite normal for me - anxiety) but what is great is that I’m waking up early every morning whereas before I’d sleep late and feel almost drugged in the mornings. I can feel my old energy coming back which is most likely down to the healthier/less food and exercise. Also I’m drinking quite a bit of water (or watered down sugar free squash anyhow, I hate plain water!)

A few weeks ago I was considering going to the GP to ask for anti-depressants I felt so rubbish and low. My mood has altered completely this last couple of weeks (I started calorie counting for a week or two before doing my first shot) and I’m hopeful that this could mean I can alter my mood on my own.

Im feeling more back to my old self and have been taking a bit more self care, doing my nails and putting on makeup etc. after a while of feeling like “what’s the point”.

So far I’m really loving this wonder drug!

Well done everyone on your losses so far, I can’t wait to see how I’ve fared on Friday!

Day 4 today, i dont feel hungry, my mid week wine cravings have gone. I am a bit constipated and windy today but manageable. Im not really sure how many calories i should be eating but am going with around 1200 a day and avoiding sugar.

So week 2 day 2 I have lost 3.8kg so far. No big losses but little bits each day. 🙌🙌

so, the past two week I have been starving a full 24hours after jabbing then the food noise subsides and I have to force myself to eat. Ibused to emotional eat/boredom eat. This has been a game changer for me.

I am really working hard to ensure my meals are nutritious and I am getting 10k steps a day and working out 4 times a week (weights and cardio). I had constipation the first week, but that has been sorted with fybogel, although I did stop taking my iron supplements and I know I need these so will cautiously re-introduce)

no other side effects luckily except having to force myself to eat.

Something I have learned about myself so far: I usually quit when it’s not instant gratification. This is helping me realise that slow burning habits can really have an impact on my daily life and not everything needs to happen “right now” and I need to learnt to be kinder to myself and also be more patient with myself.

@JoanCollinsDiva W1D6 for me too and nervous for weighing myself on Friday. Stupidly hopped on the scales this morning and was so pleased - now I’m wishing I hadn’t incase there’s any gain by Friday. Too fixated on the scales though, I need to focus on the fact I’m eating much better and like you I notice a lift in my general mood. Better eating habits have crept in- I had an Alpro protein yogurt and berries for breakfast when before I wouldn’t have bothered with breakfast at all. Really look forward to a good serving of veg (anything green but particularly brussel sprouts or broccoli) with my dinner. Just about managing to have the right water/fluid intake.

I have to say the lifting of my mood is paramount to me - even more so than losing weight, I was so down and it was starting to really negatively affect my life. The silly thing is that I KNOW how much better I feel, and how quickly, when I start eating healthily and exercising a bit each day but I still end up sabotaging after I’ve lost the weight and putting it back on. Then I pile on even more over winter and end up back at square one plus an extra stone! I’m 13.6 and that’s the heaviest I’ve ever been except when pregnant- but I don’t even think I went above about 14 stone when 9 months preggers! My hope is that the MJ will suppress the cravings this time and stop me from giving up once I reach my goal.

I was freezing for the first two days after jabbing also -I spent all of Sunday under a furry blanket with a hot water bottle. I slept that night for about 10 hours straight. It did pass the next day thankfully, hopefully it will for you too.
Im feeling a bit gassy (sorry tmi) today and my stomach feels a bit off but nothing unmanageable. I’m off for lunch with dm now but I think il just be having coffee - the cafe we go to only sells stodgy sandwiches and toasties and there’s no way I can face that!

Weighed this morning and I've lost just over 12lbs since Jan 1st. So on course for a stone in one month.

I can't get my head around it, I've had minimal side effects and the appetite suppression is so invisible that I don't know how much is will power and how much is the jab. I don't feel hungry and don't have those dips where I need sugar but I've learnt so much of my eating is not about hunger but boredom and wanting a 'treat'. I've ordered the next pen and just hope it continues.
