First daily weigh of my second week and I’m a pound down! That’s a movement in the right direction!

myladyjane · 18/01/2025 12:49

Could I join pls. Took my first dose on Thursday night just before bed. I was horrified at my way in - I find scales triggering so had avoided them for a couple of years and boy that was an error. I was about a stone heavier than I estimated and that wasn't a light weight!

The only person who knows I'm doing this is dh who is broadly supportive but he finds me a bit frustrating as he's an active food as fuel type. But he wants me to be healthy and so is gently encouraging. Got me out for a walk last night which I needed.

So far a bit of nausea and cold. Don't think I have any suppression but I keep 'checking' to see if I feel hungry or not. I have a bad habit of going too long between eating then overeating so I am trying to regulate that. Am out for a late lunch for a family celebration this afternoon but I've checked the menu and there are a couple of good options.

And sign me up for exercise accountability. I am hugely sedentary (high stress office role where I often work 10 hours with no break). Walks, swims and YouTube workouts are my aims for the next month.

Week 1 and I've lost 3.8 kg..............amazing!!!

I know it's going to slow down now but I'm still delighted to be off to a good start. I've got a long way to go on this journey!

Well done! And don’t feel you have to justify a large loss (or being happy with a large loss) whether it’s in the early weeks or later on. Think we all know losses will slow down but everyone is different and will react differently to MJ. I’ll be delighted if I get a loss like yours.

Boohoo76 · 18/01/2025 13:55

Has anyone got redness around their injection site? I injected yesterday. It didn’t hurt at the time but did bleed a bit. It’s now sore and red. I’m panicking that I’ve got an infection!

TheCatsBlanket · 17/01/2025 19:58

Funnily enough I too jabbed my thigh for the 3rd dose just to change it up, and have found that the suppression so far hasn’t been as effective as when I injected into flabby stomach Back to doing it in flab next time for me

Seems better already, could be coinsidence.

RosaBaby2 · 18/01/2025 14:07

Kallo lentil cakes with peanut butter
Kvarg - the Lindahls ones
Chia, pumpkin, sunflower seeds
Boiled eggs
Protein bars
Babybels/other high protein cheese

I’ve done first two weeks in my thighs so tried flabby belly this morning… will see if suppression is increased and update! 😊😊😊

sociallydistained · 18/01/2025 14:40

I'm on week 3, jabbed Thursday night. All going well and can't imagine not having this medication now it seems to be doing so much for me. I have more energy, I'm more positive (I was quite low before I started) just not being obsessive about food is a joy!

So week 2 weight in and I lost 1.8lb I was disheartened a bit but then I remembered between weighing and my medication arriving I load weight and then first weigh was 5lb down meaning I've lost 10 in a month which I have to remind myself I have not done for years! And never so easily!

I also started exercise back up again this week. I've been consistent on steps since starting as I have a walking pad but I haven't done weights or anything more since before Christmas. I did a 45 min Bodypump yesterday and I ache all over ha. I did a 45 min combat today and I have to say I felt sick towards the end but I'm feeling good about it all! Weighing this morning I could also be holding some water from the exercise shock!

All I know is on any other diet If I felt any disappointment about weigh in it would make me think f it but on this drug you know it's doing its thing and you don't want to overeat in rebellion 😂

I am at a friends this evening for Chinese and I am not telling them I'm on MJ anytime soon (have told others and i won't hide it when weight loss is obvious but at this stage I don't think outsiders can really understand) but I really don't want the Chinese! Whenever I feel like suppression may not be working I remember j don't want a takeaway or have any compulsion to do so - and I KNOW it's working 😂

I haven't really eaten anything like this since starting and haven't had side effects so I'm a bit worried but I'm thinking I'll just go easy and hoping to bring back leftovers for my other half (he'll be in shock haha) and hopefully it won't be noticed lol.

In other news, I've ordered my second pen 5mg today. I am feeling good on 2.5 but since it's a therapeutic dose I'm wanting to make the jump. If all okay on that I do plan to pace out my doses so stay on 5 as long as possible etc. i am also planning to do the 5th golden dose of 2.5 out of this pen.

Thanks for the suggestions @RosaBaby2

Also: frittatas for an easy lunch that's also portable. Just had 1 for lunch with 2 eggs and courgette, plus 1/2 bagel

stilllovingmysleep · 18/01/2025 15:06

@sociallydistained 10 lbs in a month is fabulous!

I feel - like you- that MJ in the first 8 days of taking it has eliminated my afternoon slump which had done wonders for my post lunch appointments. I'm not getting sleepy at all, energy really good.

Which makes me wonder about what's going on with my hormones - I was sure I was low in iron and took supplements which somewhat helped, I used to think all the time about my sleep... but now with MJ it's so striking how much more energy I have.

I wonder if others have felt this way? And if so how it's explained? As some say they get fatigued

You're welcome. Oh yeah I forget about fritattas, omelettes and things. I normally either love eggs or don't eat any for months!

is it takeaway that you choose what you want? There are some options you can maybe get away with.,,
Last weekend I had chicken Satay but only had a small amount of the sauce, broccoli and ginger was lovely, we also had crispy duck pancakes, I just didn’t cover it in hoisin 😊

Ireolu · 18/01/2025 17:16

First injection this morning. Injection actually arrived Tuesday but wanted to start on a day with DH around and with no work on the horizon. So far OK. Hopeful for some good weight loss as at a BMI of 39 I needed help.

Ireolu · 18/01/2025 17:19

I wish everyone luck with their weight loss.

Zempy · 18/01/2025 17:31

I have slept most of today. Just couldn’t keep my eyes open. This is unusual and I sleep really well at night.

Anyone else have this issue?

millenialmolly · 18/01/2025 19:26

I jabbed Thursday night for the first time and this evening I've really felt the appetite suppression working- could only manage half of my dinner and in all honesty felt full after a few bites.

I ate a normal breakfast and lunch today, albeit no snacks, but I think this is probably going to be too much - so I think I'll have a small breakfast and lunch moving forwards. I know the whole point is to eat less but was just wondering if this has worked for anyone else- eating light earlier in the day and having a decent dinner? Don't want to be sat with the family feeling full from a lettuce leaf at dinner 😆.

FYI I'm following the Team RH GLP plan so trying to prioritise protein and fibre.

Am also on TeamRH! Have been for couple of years but stopped 6 mths ago due to work commitments. Nice to see someone else on here doing it! 🙂

Hi All can I please join?

I jabbed for the first time today. I stopped drinking 52 days ago for health reasons and have lost a stone naturally, but I have another 4 or 5 to go so I'm taking full control of my health and prioritising eating healthily and exercise.

Not felt very hungry this evening, wonder if it is in my mind or if it is taking effect within 7 hours?

Sockmate123 · 18/01/2025 21:06

Just did first jab! We are back from hols and between that and Christmas I'm not happy with how I look 😔
SW 156
GW 135

Excited to hopefully see some results!

Zempy · 18/01/2025 21:08

@GroundControlToMajorTomCat yes I had suppression within that timeframe but not everyone does.

Torturedpoetsdepartment13 · 18/01/2025 21:11

You were 100% right. Thank you. X

W1 D6… 3lbs down! On 2.5mg and it’s definitely working. Bit hungrier today but even so, only on 1300 cals. Anyone fancy a WhatsApp accountability buddy for this journey?
