W1 D6… 3lbs down! On 2.5mg and it’s definitely working. Bit hungrier today but even so, only on 1300 cals. Anyone fancy a WhatsApp accountability buddy for this journey?

Well done! How much have you to lose? How are you tracking your calories?

Fatgirlslim43 · 18/01/2025 22:26

I have 60lbs to lose. I’m started at 184.8lbs. I’m tracking my food on the team rh app as that has a Mounjaro tracking functionality 👌

BigFatty · 18/01/2025 22:28

4lbs down after 1st week.

SW - 222lbs
CW - 218lbs
GW - 170lbs

No big side effects - few tummy cramps after I had 4 beers but disappeared quick after a trip to the toilet.

Hunger suppression hasn't kicked in but I am craving healthier food like homemade soup & salads.

Goodluck everyone x

sociallydistained · 18/01/2025 22:31

I had tofu black bean and boiled rice and had half I could normally eat it all for sure. One spring roll and a couple of chips and one beer. I was worried but so far so good! The most I've eaten and the worst food I've eaten since starting on MJ but like I said, I'd normally eat to bursting and it was nice to feel controlled (without effort)

Brilliant, well done. You are off to a brilliant start

Having a bit of a nightmare with food as staying with a family member. Have declined cake twice so far and only been here a day. Dinner last night was potato, onion diced up finely and baked with diced sausage.

Think I will offer to cook something or pay for a meal out somewhere I can get a load of protein and fresh veg down me. It is also freezing , minus 3 currently.

Grecianrainbow · 19/01/2025 08:48

I had dinner at a family member’s last night, and it ended up as Chinese takeaway. Clearly not enough fibre over the day/ meal as I was struggling to go to the loo. I need to be a bit more organised forward planning for this now.

at work today so I have a good breakfast, might end up with a protein shake later as that’s getting hard to fit in.

ive still not told anyone I’m doing this though. How long I can keep it secret when the next pen is in the fridge is another question

DGonMJ · 19/01/2025 09:01

Week 3 Jab day today. I just woke up and did my daily weigh in - I’ve hit 74.6kg which is exactly 5kg off my starting weight! 10kg more to go to my goal weight!

Also managed to hit my 100g protein goal yesterday, but it’s bloody hard (and expensive) to eat so much chicken breast all the time.

myladyjane · 19/01/2025 09:06

Is the appetite suppression consistant?

I had my lunch out yesterday. Picked my healthy salad with extra halloumi (veggie so that was my protein source). I ate the halloumi and the veg from the salad, a few forkfuls of noodles and stopped. I was feeling good and pukey. Turned down offers of cheesy chips and dhs chocolate fondant and sat whilst everyone else had pudding with a mint tea trying not to be sick.

But then at dinner time, I started to feel the food noise coming back. The good thing was I had half a toastie and some fruit and yoghurt and was happily done.

I guess I'm expecting not to feel hungry at all but that's not it is it.

Also the weeing is killing me. Up multiple times last night. It's a day or two before my period which always makes me wee more anyway but this was excessive.

NikkiC1975 · 19/01/2025 09:18

Went out for Turkish last night… first meal out since starting MJ.

thought I’d played it sensible avoiding all bread and dips, a couple of falafels to start and chicken shish with salad (left the rice)… I was absolutely stuffed afterwards 😂

lesson learned 😊

Zempy · 19/01/2025 09:19

@DGonMJ do you eat fish?

Agree chicken is the easy protein option but I am having a salmon fillet with salad tonight.

Other options are tuna with salad or baked potato, cod and beans or fish finger sandwich (food of the Gods)

I finally had a 💩 and the scale is moving.

I am with Juniper and they have broken my target loss into seven goals over seven months. I’m really happy so far with progress. Just feeling very tired.

AmythestBangle · 19/01/2025 09:26

OK so week one nothing seemed to happen from the MJ but I struggled through sticking through the calorie counting on Nutracheck and did lose. Since injection 2 my appetite has gone. I am eating tiny portions and having to force myself to do so. I was sceptical in week one and wondered if people were just experiencing a placebo effect, enhanced by the fact of having committed themselves by spending the money. Now I see that the appetite suppression is real!

LuckyCharm9 · 19/01/2025 09:46

I did my first jab yesterday!
starting weight: 14.8 st
target weight: 10.5st

I have vitamin D and collagen gummies, is there anything else I should be taking?

MJalltheway · 19/01/2025 09:52

Hi, can I join? Ordered my first pen yesterday, so planning on starting on Friday this week. I'm at a work conference all day Thursday so want to wait until after that in case of side effects!
I successfully lost a couple of stone a few years ago with intermittent fasting but then covid hit, routine went out of the window, and I put it all back on again. My aim is to get back to IF with the help of mounjaro.
i also just had a 'well woman' check at the GP and found I have high cholesterol, high urea (can lead to gout!), reduced liver function. All horrifying and a really clear sign to me that it's not the outer appearance that is the important thing, but the damage I'm doing internally to my organs by eating too much and being obese. So that's given me a really big kick up the bum to get this sorted.
starting weight is 101kg. Don't know what my target wil be yet, I've gone with Voy and they've set it as 91 kg target in 6 months.

Seaitoverthere · 19/01/2025 10:07

@myladyjane I find things vary a fair bit day to day but overall have less appetite and am fuller quicker.

@zempy yes I have fish too, but I don’t want to eat tuna or salmon more than once a week. Also tmi - if I eat too much white fish I start smelling a bit fishy!
We’ll have tofu once a week too. And then Fage do a 0% lacto free high protein Greek yoghurt, which I’ll use as a topping/dressing on porridges/salads.

I’m also with Juniper. Am wondering how late I can leave it to ask to stick to the 2.5ml. Want to see how this third week goes, I’m doing well with the weight loss, and managing the hunger towards the end of the week.

also - in good news, I injected into my (flabby) belly for the first time and there was no blood or bent needle or leftover solution pooling around the site. I think first two times I was probably too close to the thigh muscle (I still have the bruise from last week). No chance of getting close to my non-existent abs!

myladyjane · 19/01/2025 10:24

@DGonMJ I am a pescatarian but these days only for the protein otherwise I'd just be veggie. Fage is a life saver I find - I have some at least once a day for either breakfast or pudding.

I find eggs a bit disappointing protein wise. My mother always said you never needed more than 2 but I don't find that enough if eggs are the centre of the meal. 3 eggs are still only 18g of protein though so good but not amazing. I do sometimes chuck some cottage cheese in to scrambled egg but find it gets a bit watery.

I did Zoe a coupe of years ago which was interesting. I have never really been a huge fan of pulses but did try a few of those recipes and now have a small rota of things I like. May be worth a look? Also incredibly good fibre wise

I'm on week 3, jabbed Thursday night. All going well and can't imagine not having this medication now it seems to be doing so much for me. I have more energy, I'm more positive (I was quite low before I started) just not being obsessive about food is a joy!

So week 2 weight in and I lost 1.8lb I was disheartened a bit but then I remembered between weighing and my medication arriving I load weight and then first weigh was 5lb down meaning I've lost 10 in a month which I have to remind myself I have not done for years! And never so easily!

I also started exercise back up again this week. I've been consistent on steps since starting as I have a walking pad but I haven't done weights or anything more since before Christmas. I did a 45 min Bodypump yesterday and I ache all over ha. I did a 45 min combat today and I have to say I felt sick towards the end but I'm feeling good about it all! Weighing this morning I could also be holding some water from the exercise shock!

All I know is on any other diet If I felt any disappointment about weigh in it would make me think f it but on this drug you know it's doing its thing and you don't want to overeat in rebellion 😂

I am at a friends this evening for Chinese and I am not telling them I'm on MJ anytime soon (have told others and i won't hide it when weight loss is obvious but at this stage I don't think outsiders can really understand) but I really don't want the Chinese! Whenever I feel like suppression may not be working I remember j don't want a takeaway or have any compulsion to do so - and I KNOW it's working 😂

I haven't really eaten anything like this since starting and haven't had side effects so I'm a bit worried but I'm thinking I'll just go easy and hoping to bring back leftovers for my other half (he'll be in shock haha) and hopefully it won't be noticed lol.

In other news, I've ordered my second pen 5mg today. I am feeling good on 2.5 but since it's a therapeutic dose I'm wanting to make the jump. If all okay on that I do plan to pace out my doses so stay on 5 as long as possible etc. i am also planning to do the 5th golden dose of 2.5 out of this pen.

Can I be nosey and ask which walking pad you have and how you’ve found it? Thnx

Try and change it up a bit you don't want go get bored and need go try and build sustainable habits.

I've been having 100-140g protein

Chicken
Pork loin steaks
Steak/thin steaks
Tuna
Eggs
High protein vegetables
Nuts and seeds
Greek yoghurt/kvarg, I've just had 18g protein for breakfast with kvarg, pumpkin and chia seeds mixed in.
Cottage cheese
Protein bars
Lentil cakes
Protein shakes - they make clear ones like juice now if you don't like milkshake, 24g protein and 84 cals the ones I am using.

Obviously if you're happy as you are then that's great but just some other options 😊

Gintime74 · 19/01/2025 11:00

I am about to jab for 1st time and for some reason am terrified. I keep reading up and know that so many people are doing it and its safe. Its all a bit irrational.

JoanCollinsDiva · 19/01/2025 11:20

I jabbed Friday night and am feeling more or less ok, had a bit of diarrhoea and I'm a little headachey and definitely feeling suppression. I just feel meh about food and could've taken or left dinner last night but made myself eat it. It was quite a big dinner of chicken, rice, Greek salad and mini stuffed mushrooms so with some fruit afterwards and coffee/tea it took me to around 1200 cals.

Weight on Friday was 13 st 6lbs
GW: 11st

Will weigh and jab again on Friday. Need to get out for a walk too but it's grey and freezing here - I cannot wait for spring!

Is it the side effects or the needle that bother you? If it's the needle, I haven't seen anyone on this site say it hurt when it went in - the needle is minuscule. Side effects yes some people are getting them but the vast, vast majority aren't or they are very minimal. I tried to not think about it really and just did it! But I am an impulsive type 😆

unicornsaremagical · 19/01/2025 11:32

@Uponastarr i also have a walking pad, i bought from ebay for £107 however its great, tracks calories, time and how far you’ve walked/jogged, small as well so easy to store and quite light to lift. I have a 5 year old and can’t always get out for exercise so it’s handy for those days

Ireolu · 19/01/2025 11:40

First injection was yesterday. Had a good sized dinner and that was it for yesterday although DH made fun that he thought his appetite was more suppressed than mine!

I however had the most bonkers vivid dream overnight. Felt very real...has this happened to anyone else?

Cremeeggtime · 19/01/2025 12:03

I've had less than normal for breakfast and do feel full. Really enjoyed the food though still. Am putting exercise clothes on in the hope that being in them will make me do something!
