@QueenBarbs I had similar, but without the diarrhoea. I tried again on a lower dose, so I did

Jab1:2,5mg - bad side effects 4 days
Jab 2: 2mg - bad side effects 1 day
Did Jab 3 nine days later as I was feeling run down Jab 3: 1.6mg

I've had no side-effects on Jab 3 (I'm 3 days into it) apart from feeling slightly dizzy as I hadn't eaten quite enough. Was very thirsty Day 2.

I'm continuing on 1.6mg and maybe creep up slowly. I get moderate appetite suppression on it.

It's not 'official' to take a lower dose but for me it was either that or give it up.

Thank you, thats interesting as ^I didn't realise it would be possible to do a lower dose. Pleased that lowering it has helped for you and still giving some appetite suppression. I'll maybe have a look at doing that, rather than completely giving up. But I definitely can't continue as I am.

Dunkou · 16/01/2025 11:21

@QueenBarbs rehydration sachets help a lot if you're not taking them at the moment.

I don't think I will be continuing the mounjaro journey.

After taking the first dose Monday and been horrendously ill Tuesday with sickness. I felt better yesterday but then last night started with a terrible headache, stomach pains all night with nausea and going hot all the time. Literally can't eat a thing or I'm going to be sick. Struggled getting my kids to school as I felt like at any moment I would have sickness or diarrhea. Thankfully I work from home but it's still effecting my work as I have to keep stopping to go to the loo (tmi sorry) and concentrating with the horrendous headache is not good.

Don't think I can risk continuing to feel this bad and not sure it's worth it. Think I will just have to try continue my weightloss journey without anything.
Disappointed as I feel like I've done this to myself and also disappointed at the waste of money, and I was so hopeful this would be the trick to finally lose weight 😔

Gosh that sounds awful - I don't know if I'm quite so excited now 😂

Have you been eating at all? I've heard talk of electrolytes etc helping with side effects, but I get the reluctance to continue - nausea and throwing up is the absolute worst.

AmythestBangle · 16/01/2025 11:57

My first weigh day today (have decided to only weigh once a week, on my injection day, which is Thursdays). At the end of one week of MJ I am down 1kg (2.2lb). Given that I have had no side effects I am happy with that although I didn't notice any suppression and just counted calories carefully on Nutracheck, and did feel pretty hungry on several occasions. I have no idea of the MJ really made any difference to the weight loss (I've lost 1kg a week for a number of weeks before just on calorie counting, but always stalled after a few weeks), but it's early days yet after just 1 week on 2.5mg.

I’ve been shocked I’m still feeling able to function on low calories and not craving food even on a very low dose. I’d originally planned to go up to 2.5 but if it continues to work enough for me to be losing weight then I’m planning to stick with what I’m doing.

There is some element of willpower involved but not a lot! I’ve had one day of being hungry (oddly the day after my second dose) and one challenge with eating out, and one gastro issue as a consequence of one slice of dominoes…. But all in all, I’ve got compete confidence I could keep this up if I can maintain the current experience.

Wow.

Great results @Pandora71 ! Today is my second shot and I’m wonderimg if i should go up to 2.5 mg or stay on 1.25 mg. I m definitely eating less, smaller portions but I am still hungry between meals just no food noise and I can finish when I am full.
it occurred to me that this is how “normal” people feel.

KhakiCat · 16/01/2025 13:49

This thread is great because for the people who have experienced bad side effects on 2.5mg, you also can see the option to lower and people who are having great results on a lower dose, too. I hope you find a way through!

It is less than 24 hours since my first ever dose at 2.5mg; I did manage to do a number 2, and only noticed a little bit of burpiness, otherwise completely fine.

I have no appetite whatsoever. I am going to force myself to eat a steamed Bao bun and drink some kombucha, then have a protein shake later with a tuna steak, tomato and feta salad for dinner.

I could probably eat nothing at all and feel absolutely fine, it is that effective so far.

Still, I am not interested in starving my way to GW, just need to find the right foods I can eat even if I don't feel like it!

SENlife · 16/01/2025 14:16

I'm 6 days in from my first injection of 2.5mg, and 2.2kg down. Quite significant appetite suppression, felt a little nauseous the first couple of days, now I just feel tired but my youngest has had me up most of the past few nights

Oh don't be put off by my experience, many seem to great on it. I just have to be dramatic and get the bad side effects 😂

Managed to keep toast down yesterday but that's the only thing I've kept down since Monday. I have had electrolytes but that's all coming back up too 😕

Bellabluea · 16/01/2025 17:21

week 2 day 1.
Lost 2.8kg in week one. No major side effects although I’ve only been to the loo once and it was extreme but that’s actually normal
for me as I have IBS. Quite a lot of suppression here but I still get hungry, just fill up a lot quicker!
today I’ve had a pack of watermelon, 2 bits of french bread with butter and a protein bar. I’m stuffed but I’m going to get some dates to eat later.
I’ve also lost an inch from waist and hips which is great as they’re my nemesis areas!

I’m about to do my second jab, I’ve just weighed myself and have lost 13lbs in week one! It’ll mostly be water I’m sure, and I do always have a big loss in the first week of any diet I’ve been on so I’m not counting my chickens! But very happy anyway, and I’ve not really had any side effects other than a slight feeling of nausea here and there.

Prammyy · 16/01/2025 17:57

Started on Tuesday evening no side effects at the moment just not hungry.

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 16/01/2025 18:11

Advice needed - i think I've messed up. Ordered my second pen too soon and kept to 2.5 but now I'm nearly up to the 4th jab and suppression is wearing off.
Do you think this will work - do a 2.5 with new pen but pull an additional 1.25 from the bonus dose in the old pen. Do that twice and then there'll still be enough left in the new pen for two 3.75??

BraveStarr · 16/01/2025 18:30

Started on Sunday (2.5mg).

Appetite is suppressed and keep having to remind myself to eat! Happy with the weight loss already, but wondering if this is water loss?

Had someone ask me today if I'd lost weight, made me very happy 😃

JoJothegerbil · 16/01/2025 18:52

W1D4. My appetite has definitely come back this evening. I was pretty hungry when I got home. So far my only side effects so far have been a headache the day after I jabbed and fewer number 2s! I added some flaxseed to my yogurt this morning and that's got things moving.

When I took Wegovy last year I had terrible diarrhoea in my second month so I had to stop. I feel for you @QueenBarbs - it's not fun when you can't be too far from the loo.

ticketiboo · 16/01/2025 19:12

Week 1 day 6 for me. Weighed today, was trying to wait a week but got impatient! Nearly 3kg down which I’m chuffed with but also aware it’s a first week thing. Had real suppression until yesterday, so was bit gutted to get appetite back. Think I’m going to do injection 2 tomorrow morning, a day early, to benefit from suppression over the weekend from now on, as I always find it a bit easier during the week when I’m busy at work. Only side effects have been a mild headache and a yuk taste in mouth, neither of which lasted long.

GW - not sure yet!

millenialmolly · 16/01/2025 19:13

Hi, my order arrived today and to say I'm nervous is an understatement!

Don't know whether to jab tonight or tomorrow. What is the best time to jab, day or night?

I'm off work now until Monday but do have an 18 month old at home with me tomorrow, I'm terrified of having awful side effects Confused

Seaitoverthere · 16/01/2025 19:24

I usually weigh tomorrow but am flying out to visit family tomorrow at short notice as elderly relative has pneumonia so using today’s weight - 2.2lb off.

Due to inject tomorrow but am going to hold off and take it with me. I won’t have much control over what I eat so could be tricky. If I feel the food will work ok with it then I can take it but am not keen on fairly long drives to the hospital with a dodgy stomach.

Pandora71 · 16/01/2025 19:34

Thanks @Josephi !

I think it all depends what your goals, how far you’ve got to go and what you are willing to sacrifice or put up with. For me, I’m starting at the lighter end of obese and not in a rush so I can afford to take it slow on a low dose. I’d rather it takes me twice as long with low side effects than fast with a dodgy tummy. For others they may want to see bigger losses quicker. I’m very grateful the mechanism of the pens allows you to tweak your own dosage.

Today I ate ~1350 calories

  • breakfast - full fat milk small hot chocolate from coffee shop (estimate 300 calories)
  • 3/4 of a chicken wrap from sandwich shop (estimate 300 calories)
  • 3/4 of a salmon parcel thing with pastry, small amount of rice, brocolli and some mayonnaise (700)
  • two tiny pieces of chocolate (approx 50)
this is more than I’ve eaten on most days. I do worry I’m not getting enough - total calories, micronutrients, protein. I probably need to be more mindful with what goes in. I’m on w2d5.

Exercise: I cycled for about 45 minutes.

Pandora71 · 16/01/2025 19:35

@millenialmolly I’m not sure time of day makes much difference as the side effects tend to kick in a day or two later.

Pandora71 · 16/01/2025 19:36

@MummyInTheNecropolis a stone in one week! That’s incredible but do make sure you are eating enough to function!

Pandora71 · 16/01/2025 19:46

I should say, I’ve started taking a multivitamin and also creatine. Wondering what others are doing.

Kibble29 · 16/01/2025 19:58

Anyone else have a very dry mouth?

Doesn't matter what or how much I drink, it’s bone dry!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 16/01/2025 20:03

@MummyInTheNecropolis that is an immense amount to loose in 1
Week!
So pleased for you!
Have you decided a total amount you are aiming for?
Presume this significant loss is a week has made a difference to how clothes feel?

Glasgow1996 · 16/01/2025 20:05

I’ve lost 4lb In a day and a half that’s great but not surprised as I’ve not ate
