Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

At maintenance and trying to switch out of weight loss mode, but gently so that I gradually move to a position of bouncing around the 11 stone mark

I’ve not reduced my dose yet but probably will go back to 3.75 initially

shrinkingthiswinter · 04/04/2025 11:09

That is fantastic @HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow and so encouraging for the rest of us!!

Do you have a broad plan for maintenance? Any advice from your supplier?

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 04/04/2025 12:00

@shrinkingthiswinter I. With medexpress they confirm that the continue to offer medication to support maintenance but no suggestions on how best to approach it. I'm going ti stay on 5mg at the moment but if i keep losing I'll lower the dose, probably up 3.75 initially and see how it goes.

I only listen to 0.6lb this week, but I ate out 3 times including a pudding on one occasion, plus had a box of chocs for Mother's Day, so it would have probably been more in a normal week. I plan to try and increase average daily in take by 200 calories or so, to see if that is a stabilising amount. I'll aim for that to mostly be in the healthy food category rather than just add a Kitkat 😊

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 04/04/2025 13:28

Hi all

Not managed to get on this thread for about 10 days. Still on 3.75. Off work ill since weds with a horrendous head cold/sore throat and aches. Stalled on weight loss too.

Still 26lb down overall, but I was enjoying my 1lb per week lost and it's buggered off. Weigh day is officially Sunday, but not drank or eaten enough this week, and I think my steps over the past few days have been around 100 per day tops. Argh.

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 04/04/2025 13:45

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals you poor thing that sounds awful 😔 ignore your weight this week, it's not a normal week and there will be water retention and inflammation, just don't fret about it. It's the over all trend that matters not an individual day or week. You're going brilliantly and 1lb a week makes for sustainability. I hope you feel better soon 💐

JunoRoma · 04/04/2025 14:36

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals hope you feel better soon

JunoRoma · 04/04/2025 14:47

My body shape has definitely changed in the last 2-3 weeks. My middle is suddenly visibly smaller than my bust. It's particularly noticeable if I wear clothes which fit properly.

Day 9 since the last dose and no further gastric sadness thankfully. I've been focused on getting my constitution regular and shipshape, ready to restart tomorrow evening. The psyllium husk capsules have helped so I'm going to keep going with those.

shrinkingthiswinter · 04/04/2025 17:07

Oh poor merry! Get well soon!

Glad to hear Juno’s on the mend.

shrinkingthiswinter · 06/04/2025 12:16

About 17 weeks now and I’m 18.8kg down - a few oz off 3 stone! I don’t really do old money but 3 stone sounds like a nice solid amount so I’m embracing it this once.

And a NSV - I can see my pubic hair from above 😆. Was quite surprised as I stood in the bathroom and looked down and there were funny spikey hairs below what’s left of my tummy rolls.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend and feeling better from side effects and illnesses xx

Goinghome20 · 06/04/2025 12:37

Lol @ the new view!
3st is brilliant!

Slimwannabe · 06/04/2025 13:47

Another lb off this week and I have, by an ounce, dropped into the 16st bracket, which is a huge milestone for me personally! I pre-emptively bought myself a working pad as a celebration present, so I'm so glad that I just about made it!

W19D1 and 2.5st down.

JunoRoma · 06/04/2025 14:24

@shrinkingthiswinter and @Slimwannabe congratulations both on your respective milestone losses!

I've gained 1kg in the past few days, which I'm not perturbed about in itself (I don't mind ups and downs so long as the overall trend is downwards) but the timing is interesting as it has coincided with the 10 day gap I left between doses to recover from side effects (the first time I've had to do this).

shrinkingthiswinter · 06/04/2025 14:38

That is interesting, Juno. I find gains are always just constipation or swollen ankles, but all of this seems to be in quite delicate balance and strongly affected by the drug. Will be interesting to hear how this next week goes for you, if there is a whoosh.

Today I’ve injected 5mg for the first time. I was doing 2.5 twice a week to smooth the effects, but now I came to the end of a pen and decided the only way not to waste the ‘bonus’ dose after force-twisting the pen was to use the full dose. Will see how this goes in terms of desirable effects and undesirable side effects.

My loss has been slower over the last month, 3kg rather than 4, but for at least some of the time I’ve been deliberately eating a bit more because felt was getting weak and woozy, as though this process has been quite a big deal for my body. Especially the last week I’ve had lots of fresh air and a bit more food and I feel more energized again.

Also my measurements have improved - my waist is suddenly down to 1/2 my height, which I’m very pleased about because that’s supposed to be a health measure, apparently. Whoever said early on to track measurements as well as weight was very right - they don’t change together in a linear relationship.

JunoRoma · 07/04/2025 08:16

Thankfully the extra kg has disappeared already. I've noticed that Mounjaro has a diuretic effect on me, so it was probably water.

JunoRoma · 07/04/2025 08:22

@shrinkingthiswinter getting your waist measurement to half your height is impressive!
Mine is about 2/3 of my height but is 8 inches / 20cm smaller than when I started, which is something.

shrinkingthiswinter · 07/04/2025 08:29

@JunoRoma 19 cm off my waist and 12 off my hips - turns out there’s still an hourglass in there somewhere! Which is a positive spin on having a remarkably generous behind. 12 off hips doesn’t sound like very much and I’m a bit surprised, as it has taken me down a good two dress sizes.

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 07/04/2025 09:43

Well done both, I think the non weight measurements are really useful to track.

I lost 18% off my waist, 12.5% off my hips and 17% off my thighs, 15% off my arm and 14% off my boobs, however I've also lost 13% from under my boobs so the loss isn't plummeting me to a flat chest, but has definitely called for new bras

The fact that I lost lots around my waist and the chunk of fat between my boobs and waist I hope suggests I've lost the internal abdomen fat that's really unhealthy.

I've taken my first reduced dose as I continue on my maintenance journey. This week my weight has fluctuated a little day by day but hovering around the same weight, which is what I'm looking for, trying to stabilise.

shrinkingthiswinter · 07/04/2025 12:29

Yikes, ok, taking 5 instead of 2x 2.5 is different. For breakfast I had my usual coffee with some chocolate protein powder in plus a banana. Now for a late lunch a veg two-egg omelette plus fruit. I wasn’t hungry for lunch but feeling woozy from lack of food. Can’t finish the apple slices. Could have stopped eating after half the little omelette, but persisted because otherwise will get faint later.

Goinghome20 · 07/04/2025 14:17

Hello from my holiday balcony.

Glad to hear youre feeling a bit better JunoRoma.

Well good news for any of you going on AI holidays this summer. The 7.5mg dose is really helping me to resist going mad at the all you can eat buffet!

Ive been taking my time choosing and eating slowly as I can. Watching my family pile up their plates!!! Happily theres lots of healthier options. Lots of fresh fruit, protein and veg. Drinking tons of water to offset the odd little half of a chocolate croissant or biscuit Ive succumbed to 🙂

Weirdly do not want any of the usual chips, ice cream, cocktails etc! Im also now happily wearing the new small bikini and a summer dress with inches to spare.. made to measure by a friend last year ... really illustrates to me just how much my shape has changed since starting MJ! Really wish Id measured myself too like Hesdeadnow... well done on maintaining this week..

Im hitting my step goal, swimming and using the gym here. No scales so no way of weighing until my return next week.

Also had no problem.getting my pen and syringes through at the airports.

Will do Wk19 injection on Thursday as normal.

Scales on my return will tell me how much Ive stayed on track... or not! 🙈

JunoRoma · 07/04/2025 20:17

@shrinkingthiswinter will you return to splitting the dose to twice weekly for the next pen?

shrinkingthiswinter · 07/04/2025 20:31

@JunoRoma I’m not sure. I think I’ll see how weight loss goes this week and how I’m feeling by the end of it. I was contemplating going up to 7.5. If I decide to do that, I’ll split 5 + 2.5. Actually no I won’t, I’ll do 5 + 1.25 for a while, rather than jumping up. But if satiety is still ok by end of week and I’ve lost alright I’ll carry on with 5 in a single dose.

I’ve got 7-11 kg left to lose, so pondering strategy and whether to slow down. But am impatient.

TrinityWaves · 09/04/2025 09:42

End of week 19, just done my 20th jab!! I'm trying 10mg now (although have some 7.5 pens to use up, so 4 doses from each rather than 5) as I've had to fight really hard this week (hunger and cravings!)

After the gain of last week, I've lost -3.8 lb this week (or -3.2 lb from 2 weeks ago)

SW 263.4
CW 210.4
TL 53 lb
First target met as BMI is now under 35 / Class 1 obese @ BMI34.6 after starting Morbidly Obese/Class 3 @ BMI43.
Targets now - get below 200 lb, get below 13 st (BMI30), hit 12 st which was original goal, ultimately I think a BMI of 25-27 would be what I'd like so 11 - 12 st but who knows (I think I change this every week 😂)

Amazing loss!
53lbs gone! In 20 weeks.

How are you feeling?

The numbers became more real for me when I started weight training. I was using 2 x 5kg weights... and theyre bloody heavy! just the thought that I was carrying them around with me permanantly... no wonder my knees were complaining!

Thank you.

Brilliant that you're doing the weights - I understand this is probably the number 1 thing you can do when you're dropping a big chunk of weight (along with protein).

Yes, physically everything is just so much easier. I do strength twice a week (just a quick blast at home) and this is getting easier to do now I'm lighter. I've now lost more than my youngest DC and she feels so heavy to pick up, it's absolutely mad I've dropped 20% of my original weight.
I've also suddenly had loads of people notice (as previously practically no-one had said anything).
It still feels like a mountain to go though with 3-4 more stone (or whatever I decide my goal weight changes to 😉).

JunoRoma · 09/04/2025 12:25

@TrinityWaves well done on the BMI milestone!
