@BackToWegovy made me laugh with your promise to yourself of Easter eggs. That’s why I always lose weight well over Lent. I leave off all the additional calories (you know them, the occasional bag of crisps, the crust of bread because there’s no calories in crusts etc!) on a promise of an Easter egg or other yumminess. Whatever gets you out the other side lighter, I say!

A pound off this week so just two pounds off my pre Christmas/knee operation lowest. @Pinkyp22 you’ll be relieved to hear that splitting my 10mg jab into two halves has worked wonders for my gastrointestinal tract…!

Grecianrainbow · 16/02/2025 13:04

SW 14st 7.5lb
CW 13st 11lb (sts)loss (- 10.5lb total)
GW 10st
This week I stayed the same, so I’ve lost 10.5lb in total over 6 weeks. My graph has ups and downs as I’m a daily weigher but a consistent downward trend - forecasting I’ll get to my goal by the end of the year.

I overheard some colleagues talking about using this drug at work this week and pretty much everyone who has lost weight in the last 6 months has been taking mj. I had no idea that it was being so widespread.

LeafUsAlone · 16/02/2025 17:27

Hi All, Im still here. You're all doing so well!
Ive had a plateau since before christmas. I keep promising myself I will make more changes but I have so much stress at work that I havent been able to think of anything else at all. I have one month left and then I can focus on me again for a bit so hopefully I can kickstart things again then.

OP posts:
Ifyounevergiveup · 16/02/2025 17:49

@LeafUsAlone Good for you! I would observe that a plateau through Christmas, New Year and the worst of winter is an achievement in itself. That’s before work stress! Just keep on and you’ll know when you’re ready to go again. I’ve been brave enough to pick a tentative end point; I hope to hit normal BMI by my Mounjaro anniversary of the end of June. That would be a three stone two loss in 12 months or (very broadly) a pound a week for a year. I find it amazing that I can even conceive of being that weight, never mind actually aiming for it…have a good week, my love, good to hear from you.

That's very true - thank you for putting it so positively!! You're a real star and this thread would be much poorer (and even quieter!) without you.

Hi @Ifyounevergiveup glad to see you posting, are you well after the knee op?
I literally came here today to ask for your advise RE splitting doses - blonde moment incoming......
Last week I extracted maybe 0.2ml from a brand new pen using a syringe, as I got just about 0.3 from the end of the last so topped up... Now hindsight is awonderful thing, what I should have counted clicks to do this because yesterday when I went to do a dose by clicking ( im on 54 clicks of a 10mg pen) when I depressed at first it didn't feel right -I think when I extracted that bit the week before the plunger hadnt gone down had it so I basically think injected less than intended this week. So pondering topping it up just a little Saturday or Sunday?! Any advise on this greatfuly received.
I have managed to lose 2lb this week taking me to 12 stone 13lbs - 82kgs. 3lbs to the 4 stone lost mark 🙏
I cant quite believe it myself, I have bought some lovely size 12 dresses for spring / summer!
My husband said last night he thinks its time to stop the injections now. My bmi is still 27.4 so technically still overweight 🙄( talk about being brought down to reality - bmi not overly accurate for me anyway as I am tall and large built)
I would like to lose another stone if I can, I dont belive I have been in the 11 stone bracket since I was about 12 😳 and Id really like to get there.

Ifyounevergiveup · 21/02/2025 14:17

@Pinkyp22 hello darling! Yes, thank you, the knee op went well, scars healing nicely, I’m back up to normal walking pace now and will be back in the gym for the first time in a year this weekend. I hope that might speed up my weight loss but probably not! I put on 2.5lb in six weeks of immobility. That wouldn’t have been possible without Mj.

as for splitting your doses…why not just take the chilled approach and see how your suppression goes? If you find yourself getting hungry, top up…if not, the Mj in your system is still doing its thing. As long as two days have passed since your last dose you’ll be fine to top up, but you don’t want to bring the slurry down on yourself!

most importantly…look at you at 12 stone something and you never even fanfared! Here’s some 🥳 👏💐. And as far as the BMI goes, I think you can tell more from your naked body than a number. Still wobblier than you want to be? Carry on. Happy with the mirror? You’re done! I know this wouldn’t work for people with body dysmorphia and the like, but you’ve never mentioned anything like that so I think you’ll know when you see a happy you looking back at you. And if you’re going to Oushk and joining their maintenance, you could temporarily stop for a bit any time. I know there’s a monthly fee but compared to what we’ve all already spent, it seems like a sensible insurance policy to me.

honestly, look at the length of this post. Sorry, everybody! Big love!

TryingToHelpBut · 21/02/2025 16:52

Goodness, I've delayed my injection by 5 days this week for reasons out of my control and I've put on 5lbs, I didn't even go mad as I have a decent bit of suppression left (so I thought) there was a bit of alcohol and quite a bit of salty food so hopefully it's all mostly water weight as even I can't put on that much in less than a week.
Does make me think it might be a lifelong commitment for me though. I suppose health wise it will be worth it and the price is likely to reduce eventually. Lots of water for me today...

That's great news, you'll have a new lease of life soon.
Only gaining 2.5lbs after a huge operation like that is amazing. Im sure the gym will definitely kick start weight loss.

I have felt hungry today not what I'd call food noise, its definitely hunger, so will see how I go tomorrow and possibly suppliment Sunday .

If I think the times I was on here last frustrated ide lost nothing or only 1lb.... Well look how the 1lbs add up!
I know I would feel happier of I could lose a little more

mamabeeboo · 01/03/2025 08:18

Morning everyone! Hope all is going well on your weightloss journeys!

I'm 5kg down in 6 weeks and a looonggg way to go. However, I am very close to my mini goal of reaching under 300lbs, hopefully in the next week or two.

Just ordered 7.5mg and really hoping this dose is for me as I'm nervous about climbing the titrations and having no where to go when 15mg doesn't work. And the cost.... 😩

I have made my peace with not being a faster loser than I thought I'd Be!

I'm also on a few fb groups and the number of people saying they have lost 1 stone in 2 weeks is crazy - they are the same people who come back a few weeks later and say their hair is falling out because they aren't eating, or that after the 1 stone loss they then plateaued for 4 weeks.... So I'm just grateful for my slow and steady journey and the weightloss feels much more manageable. It's a marathon and this is part of a bigger goal for me and so will not happen overnight.

(thanks for coming to my Ted talk😂😂)

Good morning all from a pound a week a loser. Been on MJ since August and gone all the way up to 12.5 where I am right now. Nearly at maintenance now, 2 pounds away from the top of my healthy BMI of 8 stone 11 pounds I am a short arse, old (68) and a lifelong dieter. I got down to 9 stone 4 in lockdown then very slowly went up to 11 stone last year. Nobody commented on weight gain but I felt so defeated. My doctor mentioned MJ in August when discussing my risk of heart attack in next 10 years. Never heard of the jab before! Anyway what a game changer but not a magic fat melting jab at all. Have been on an average of 800 - 1000 calories with no alcohol, apart from holidays (being retired I am one of those annoying people who goes away as much as my budget allows me) Don't despair if you are a slow loser like me. My challenge is to maintain for the rest of my life so won't be giving up the jabs yet. On maintenance with Ouschk and will be titrating down then I will see how I go.

@Azuresky68 Congratulations! You look fab and have done so well. We are similar ages and I am halfway to my goal now. I’ve only just lost a stone (has taken me 5 months!). Another one stone 3 pounds to go. The tracking app (monitor your weight) keeps adjusting my end goal date - currently saying September 2025. This means the whole journey will have taken me nearly a year - which I’m fine with.
How do you manage to have all the necessary nutrients on such low calories? I mean things like protein etc
I’m also with you on liking travel - on my next holiday next Saturday. So, I’ve stayed in 5mg for now and will gradually titrate up to 7.5 mg on my return.
I’m also with Oushk and plan to go on one of their maintenance plans when I get there. I’m not prepared to risk putting it all back on (again).

Azuresky68 · 01/03/2025 11:16

@letshavetea Well done for keeping going. I am off to Argentina next Saturday 😊 I always monitor my carbs, fat and protein. Tried flavoured protein powder in shakes and with yoghurt but it made me feel bit sickly. Now have a daily dose of tasteless collagen glow up powder from Nutrition geeks in my coffee 50 calories. Low carb and high protein diet. Real authentic Greek yoghurt higher in protein than any other. Mix with mayo and add flavour eg garlic salt and chilli. No low fat stuff. Very rare to eat rice or pasta. Plenty of non carby green veg. Sometimes a baked potato with tuna and salad. Maybe carbs once a day eg wrap or slice toast. Occaissional treat. - hot cross buns recently but all in calories. Enjoy your holiday

Sadteacher · 01/03/2025 11:46

Morning all. I think I’ve decided I have bought my last pen. I am still 5lbs above a healthy bmi but for the first time in 6 months I’ve been having side effects. Ive stayed on 12.5 for a couple of months so not sure why ive suddenly been stuck on the loo! I’ve an oushk maintenance appointment soon where I’d been dithering about titrating down like you are @Azuresky68 but I think I’ll go for the £15 a month safety net for 6 months or so instead. I haven’t seen many posts about people doing that plan. My family said I have to have more faith in myself that I can maintain so it’s good to know I have their support and they won’t be tempting me with takeaways etc!

Pinkyp22 · 01/03/2025 19:24

@Azuresky68
You look fabulous, well done yiu must feel so proud 🎉

I am still those 2lbs away from getting to 4 stone, my period has ruined that fir me this week 😳
I have sadly noticed that I am shedding a lot hair which has really upset me. I have lost very slowly, so never gave hair loss a second thought.
I have been taking and continue to take all the vitamins, and collagen.
Something I have noticed in the last 2 weeks is I am so incredibly thirsty, I had this at the beginning but no where near this intense. Im waking up in the night so thirsty!

NaivePrey · 02/03/2025 12:08

happy Sunday, good to hear that everyone is making progress. Well done @mamabeeboo @Azuresky68 🤗

I've had a bit of an odd month after weight loss speeding up in January for it to be very very very slow in February where I have lost and gained the same 1kg all month. 😪 I have had a load of work and personal stress this week so although I haven't eaten more, I think the stress has had an huge impact on me.

I have decided to stay on 5mg for another month though and if it doesn't start moving back to 1/2 lbs a week, I'll think about moving up. Just nervous of the side effects as I had a load at 2.5mg and initially with 5mg but these days I am ok apart from a bit of insomnia and very weird dreams the day of the injection and day after!!

I'm on holiday at the end of this week in the canaries so hopefully a bit of sun / vit d and some walking on the promenade and swimming will help the move downwards.

@Pinkyp22 which collagen do you use? I use the ancient and brave one and that has made quite a difference to new hair growth - noticed loads when I got my hair trimmed this week. Im not religious about having it every day but probably every other day mix into my porridge with protein powder. I also have a silicone scalp massager which I use with a rosemary hair oil (from Superdrug) and massage my scalp once a week before washing. I've found doing both has helped, as my hair sometimes sheds a lot.

@Sadteacher well done for getting to your goal or close to it 🤗, I'm sure you'll maintain! it would be good if you could share how you get on!

Onwards and downwards and have a great week!

Ifyounevergiveup · 03/03/2025 15:14

Hi everyone, what a lift you all give with how well you’re doing. @TryingToHelpBut I know how you feel…having only gained 2.5lb immediately post op, I’ve managed to gain another three…being more active is making me think I can eat much more which of course isn’t true! But, upside, I went back to the gym for the first time in about nine months, my muscle mass is more or less the same as before and I’m a lot lighter! So I need to get back to my old life of careful eating plus exercise and see if that gets me back on track. Love to all!

Pinkyp22 · 03/03/2025 16:45

@NaivePrey I use reverse life, its the highest strength I have found 10000mg Marine Collagen . I might add in some Bovine Collagen too see if that helps.

@Ifyounevergiveup You will be back to your old self in no time 💕

Azuresky68 · 03/03/2025 18:30

@Ifyounevergiveup. All the very best and good luck with getting back on track 👍

BackToWegovy · 04/03/2025 11:29

I have come home from work with diarrhoea and cramps. Hope this isn’t the end of the road for me and WLIs. So worried that this is the same as I went through with Mounjaro.

Ifyounevergiveup · 04/03/2025 11:59

@BackToWegovy Omg that’s terrible. I don’t know how Wegovy works; can you split a dose like some of us have to with Mj? You have my every sympathy, after a few weeks with no side effects the liquid insides have returned and that’s on a half dose! Immediate effect Imodium is my friend… I don’t know if you’ve tried that? Or any kind of Imodium really, it’s just I find that the immediate relief one provides exactly that. Look after yourself and don’t give up hope, get the symptoms sorted with meds if you can, you don’t have to suffer if it turns out that they help 💐

BackToWegovy · 04/03/2025 13:05

Thank you. I haven’t had Imodium this time and am actually feeling quite a bit better now. Yes I could go down in dose and I will probably do that. It didn’t work when I tried with Mounjaro though. Once this started (at 10mg dose 4) I never got away with any more than 4mg without the same thing happening. Hopefully just a blip and I am catatrophising. I did have the odd week like this when on Ozempic and it went away again so there is hope.

Ifyounevergiveup · 04/03/2025 13:08

@BackToWegovy Fingers crossed for you!

Sadteacher · 04/03/2025 21:38

@BackToWegovy I’ve had this with no warning on higher doses of mounjaro, not even when stepping up a dose. I hope you’re feeling ok now. It’s part of the reason I’m stopping after my current pen, it’s not fun.

BackToWegovy · 05/03/2025 09:10

@Sadteacher its awful isn’t especially having had a taste of it working so well. Good luck for stopping. I really don’t want to but think I may have to. I can’t risk this happening every week. It feels self inflicted in some ways. I am in less pain today but was sick several times overnight. I have decided Imodium is the way to go after all.
