I think our cycles are still a thing and I am definitely more snacky once a month despite the medication. The break won’t have ruined things but the levels do build up over time so may be a bit lower now than before your break. Also the body at some point will fight back harder to stop you losing more weight and it will feel like the drugs are doing less.

You have already lost an amazing amount of weight to change your BMI by 10 points. Well done that is a brilliant achievement.

Ifyounevergiveup · 16/01/2025 18:10

@missingthemidlands I echo what @BackToWegovy says. The patterns do continue, just more muted. I have REALLY struggled last week and this and it was ages before I clicked that it was low level background anxiety over a knee operation I’m having tomorrow. It’s the first time I’ve had that yammering “eat! Eat!” voice in my head since I started Mj in June. Be kind to yourself, this too will pass just like everything else does. Two weeks without a jab won’t have ruined it but it will mean you have almost no Mj in your system at the minute, so it makes sense that you feel you’re back to the start. But you’re not, you’ve found a way of losing weight which works for you and in a couple of weeks you’ll be back to feeling the benefits. As a side note, I guess you’ve taught us all not to miss doses; ages ago there was a graph going round showing how quickly Mj leaves the system and that’s all you’re experiencing, not any kind of failure! Chin up.

Evening all :)

Well, the scales are still all a bit all over the shop here but I think I am claiming a 2lb loss on my first week of 12.5mg! That would be amazing if true. Hoping now period is done I will get a bit more consistency on the scales; am going to commit to daily weigh ins to really try and track more closely for a while.

Did the second jab yesterday and I have to say I am struggling with more side effects this time- heartburn, absolutely shattered and hypersensitive skin, which I haven’t had since right at the start. Suppression is definitely there, I can eat but not huge portions. I definitely started eyeing up the crisps more last week whilst on, so yes, i’d agree cycles are v much still a thing!

Azuresky68 · 17/01/2025 10:46

@Ifyounevergiveupbest of luck with the knee operation and post op recovery. We will still be here and looking forward to hearing from you with your supportive and witty comments x

letshavetea · 17/01/2025 10:52

@Ifyounevergiveup all the very best with your knee op tomorrow. Keep us updated as to how it’s going.

Ifyounevergiveup · 17/01/2025 11:09

Awww thanks guys! Sitting on the ward waiting to do paperwork!

Pinkyp22 · 17/01/2025 12:26

@Ifyounevergiveup good luck for the surgery today, don't be worried the surgeons do millions of them, they're amazing. Id love to scrub in on a knee op!

So I reduced my dosage this week because of thr pains id been getting. I have felt hunger and I have felt a bit snacky - I have had a little food obsession this week with dried mango 🤨 no idea why, I had some, enjoy so went a bought 3 packets of it. I mean it is mango not crisps but never the less felt a bit like old habits.
I went from 8.5mg down to 6.5 for a week. I have lost 1b.
I tried to talk to my GP re abdominal pains / discomfort - useless. Booked a phone call for 9.30am, they didn't call. I rang to ask why, thr receptionist told me they don't call at that time it could be any time.
So I missed the dam call at 12.30 because I was at work seeing my own patients! Quite frustrating as I work in a GP surgery and know that is absolutely not how they should be working.
She left a message saying she would call back later...... But didn't 😂🤔
I have been drinking peppermint tea and taking busco mint and I have to say I do think it is digestion / wind related. As its not been so bad this week.

I have injected 8mg last night, I will have to go up in small increments but that's ok. I can feel the suppression now kicking in but that achy pain has returned 🙄🙄

I received my first order from Oushk - very impressed

Ifyounevergiveup · 17/01/2025 16:02

I’m out, ladies, all has gone well. Big love!

MolluscMonday · 17/01/2025 16:44

I totally missed that your surgery was today, @Ifyounevergiveup - glad it went well. Rest up!

letshavetea · 17/01/2025 16:58

So glad it’s gone well. I’ve been thinking about you:)

Pinkyp22 · 17/01/2025 18:32

@Ifyounevergiveup sending lots of love and healing thoughts your way

NaivePrey · 19/01/2025 10:00

Hope you are feeling better @Ifyounevergiveup 💐
just weighed myself and I’ve lost 20lbs in total, which feels so slow 🥲
and as it’s been a 1 or 2lb max a week - I kind of feel the same - it’s weird!
I have booked my summer holiday so have a target date to when I want to be able to wear a bikini and feel ok if not good!

has anyone taken their mj on a plane, how did you do that? Medicine bag in hand luggage? As I don’t think I’ll be ready for maintenance until around September.

hope everyone is having a good weekend- the weather has turned cold again here which isn’t great ❄️🥶 - was going to go for a walk but relaxing in front of the fire feels more appealing!

onwards and downwards! Xx

Sadteacher · 19/01/2025 17:49

I’m not sure if it’s dry January or going up to the 12.5 dose, but I’ve lost 4lbs in 2 weeks!!!!
I hope you’ll let me stay in this thread despite over doubling my rate of weight loss 😂

letshavetea · 19/01/2025 18:08

Hello fellow slow losers. I had a sneaky pre - weigh today and I think I’m still on my plateau! So frustrating, but never mind. I’ll take my first full 5mg tonight (dose 17), so fingers crossed things get going next week!
@Ifyounevergiveup hope you’re okay?
@NaivePrey I take my MJ in a Frio wallet in my hand luggage. I’d never risk the hold! Had no problems on my holiday last November.
@Sadteacher - really pleased for your loss. I need to do the rest of Jan dry I think!
@Pinkyp22 I hope you’re feeling better now?

Azuresky68 · 20/01/2025 20:00

@NaivePrey it's straight forward to take your pen on a plane. You can get an insulated travel container on Amazon, with mini ice packs. Make sure you have prescription or label from the box with your name on it. I have never been asked about the pen and I have been abroad o numerous occaissions. Happy days!

Pinkyp22 · 22/01/2025 06:06

@letshavetea thank you for thinking of me.
I am still getting the stomach discomfort but seems to be less if I take busomint, it must be digestional / wind related.
Other than this I am feeling ok. I have started a new, and final uni placement this week in a care home. Its all a but chaotic, new start times so im having to get up at 05.45 🙄 not a fan especially trying to force myself to eat at that time.
@Ifyounevergiveup I hope you are doing well after your knee surgery and someone at home is looking after you ❤️

BackToWegovy · 23/01/2025 09:06

I am now back to my lowest Ozempic and Mounjaro weights. Hoping to keep on going down this time round. I have had some morning nausea this week which hasn’t been fun but it does pass quite quickly and I haven’t actually been sick.

Ifyounevergiveup · 23/01/2025 18:42

@Pinkyp22 and everyone else, thank you for your kind thoughts and words! The knee is doing fantastically well, six days post operation I’m doing about 8000 steps a day. Once the wound is healed I can go back to the gym, which will be the first time I’ve done Mj AND exercise. Not getting on the scales quite yet though; im sure you’ll forgive me for that! Big love to everyone

Pinkyp22 · 24/01/2025 12:35

@Ifyounevergiveup glad to hear it's going well.

1lbs off this week, down to 84kg.
A 2+lb loss would be nice, to finally see under 13 stone 🤔🙄 but at least its down

Sadteacher · 26/01/2025 18:25

My 2lbs a week run is over… back to half a pound off this week! Strangely, this has been the biggest week of suppression I’ve had since starting too. I didn’t take 15 from my new pen in the end, I am taking 12.5 still and glad as I struggled to eat well this week.
I am one pound away from hitting a 2 stone loss, I started at the end of August. I have become very vain and can’t stop looking at myself in the mirror 😂
Hope everyone else is still plodding along nicely!

letshavetea · 27/01/2025 06:54

Hi all, I’ve finally lost a pound this week! I took dose 18 (5mg) last night.
SW - 12 st 9.5
CW 11 st 12.5
GW 10.5 st
That means I’ve lost a total of 11 pounds since the beginning of October. Monitor my weight says my rate of loss averages 0.65 lb per week.

BackToWegovy · 28/01/2025 08:28

Well done everyone. I had quite a good weight loss week last week (well I lost a pound and reached a new lowest weight) but also felt quite sick on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Feel fine today which is nice and hope the suppression continues too.

Azuresky68 · 29/01/2025 09:46

Good morning everyone! Just checking in. I mainly post on the August starters thread but have had some great support on here. @Ifyounevergiveup so glad to hear your recovery is going well. I am 4 pounds away from my personal goal of 9 stone (BMI 25.4) and not planning to go down to the top of my healthy weight which is 8 stone 11 pounds.
My weight loss is very slow now but as long as I don't start gaining as my previous patterns I will be happy. I got to 9 stone 4 in lockdown and it was a battle to keep it off but managed to go between 9.5 stone and 10 for a couple of years then last year I found myself going up to 11. (I am under 5 foot!)
I have had 2 maintenance consultations with Hira from Ouschk which have been so helpful. Will check back here to let you know more about goal and maintenance.

Ifyounevergiveup · 29/01/2025 15:51

Oh gosh, what is it about a change to routine which sends me straight back to old habits? Haven’t been weighed since my op and it’s rapidly changing from a won’t to a daren’t. Got to get a grip so I’m here to give you all an undertaking that I will reflect and work out what’s going on in my head then make the required changes! Hope you’re all doing well…certainly sounds like it!

Hi there. I hope you are OK? Are you still on MJ? Sending you very best wishes. Don't be hard on yourself as you have done so well. Take good care of yourself. Sending hugs 😊
