Hello! Is anyone starting or recently started with Shemed? I think there's a few of us on the boards. I started posting on a different thread when I was looking into MJ but thought it would be nice for us to have somewhere to share our experiences of the journey!

I'm Fatsia. My bmi is huge (22 stone with 11 stone to lose ideally. I'd be happy with less!). I put on a lot of weight after having kids and have tried all the usual things to lose it each time gaining more. We don't have a high income so it's taken some thinking before getting to this place and I'm really hopeful reading others stories of where this can lead. I. Really do want to experience the world in a slimmer body again.

I did the blood test today - stressed out this morning at the app was overloaded with so many starting on 2nd of Jan but the actual experience was great. I'm a bit needle phobic so it was great to have the little device to do the test.

Love to hear from any others interested in sharing experiences.

(Anyone wanting to debate SheMed as a company there are other threads where that is happening)

What dis the letter say? Xx

Earthgirl3971 · 17/01/2025 20:51

Hi, hopefully I'm replying to you but I haven't done this before now.

Just wanted to say in answer to you that I think that all of us that have taken the plunge are doing the right thing for our future health. 🙌 It's not an easy choice to make but I'm happy I've made it. Personally I would love to have positive developments to my PCOS and Endo through this process of losing stubborn weight aswell. I'm pretty sure I sent my bloods back on Wednesday this week. I'm impatiently waiting for my results. Xx

Reginaphalangeeeee · 17/01/2025 21:15

Right after bloods result tonight, payment taken and now seen prescription for MJ! Woohoo!🥳
It says issued 17th and expected delivered within 24hour (says date 19th).
Guess I will take as soon as it arrives. Maybe Sunday best day to take I wonder?

LillithMorning · 17/01/2025 21:37

Finally got the approval just now! I say finally but only sent my bloods off on Monday 😂. I was sure something was wrong though.

Nervous but looking forward to the start of changing some habits!

Really finding comfort in this thread 🩷

It was just letting gp know that I am on the programme and sent them my blood results as well highlighting the side effects that can occur. I think that's what made me nervous tbf x

So prescription and everything has gone through and I'm waiting for my pen. I'm so anxious now, after having read the letter for gp from SheMed I am now thinking have I done the right thing? Which is silly because I've been super excited up until this point and hopeful for the future 😭😭

these doubts are so normal but be assured in the fact you’re doing the right thing for your health! My excitement can definitely manifest itself in anxiety and nerves but just shows that you care about it. Try and focus on the positive life changes that the drug can bring you

ploot · 17/01/2025 22:02

@Shmallow @KeenGreen

I've been putting off my jab all evening, had tea around 7:30ish.

Now it's time and I'm scared 😂

Shmallow · 17/01/2025 22:05

You can do it @ploot! It's been in my system just over 36 hours and I definitely have the suppression. It's difficult to pinpoint, but definitely there.

I'm just gonna take my makeup off and then I'll do the check in thingy!

Do I need to weigh on the call again?
Will they talk me through it?

I'm autistic and need specific instructions otherwise I'll just have endless questions!

Shmallow · 17/01/2025 22:22

Yes it's very much like the first blood test call - there are on-screen instructions as well as them talking you through it, if you want them to, and they will also get you to weigh. I just kept holding it up and showing them to make sure it was right! I think there is also a set of instructions in the box the pen is in, so you could try looking at them first if you want a heads up.

Super helpful, thank you!

Will get on with it now haha

Shmallow · 17/01/2025 22:44

Let us know how you get on!

I did it, and it didn't hurt??

I had some blood thinner given to me in hospital a few months ago and that was the worst injection I've ever had, one in each arm.

This was the easiest thing, science is amazing.

Hopefully I don't get the poos or nausea and I wake up tomorrow a size 10?

Thanks for reassuring me!

Shmallow · 17/01/2025 22:57

Great! Well done - and yes it's definitely so weird that it doesn't hurt!

Sad to report I am not yet a size 10, one day in, but here's hoping 🤞

Bigknickers56 · 17/01/2025 23:16

Hi everyone. I got the blood test done today without incident. It did take a while for the blood to get in the pot but maybe my blood is the texture of treacle due to the amount of sweets I eat 😏. Now I am like a kiddie at Christmas waiting for the next step!
I know we all have our own goals and mine isn't really a weight. It's being able to reach my feet without blacking out, and getting up off the sofa without groaning sound effects. 😂

TLMoo · 18/01/2025 00:27

@ploot well done glad it's over! Isn't it crazy that it's completely painless haha! I was terrified (also because of the blood thinning needles I've had before!!) I did mine Wednesday night and I'm still not a supermodel! Shocking! Haha

@Bigknickers56 we do indeed all have our own goal. All here because we've taken positive steps towards them!! Go us ❤️

A question about delivery...🚚 📦

It says expected by 19th but I guess could be today.
My daughter is here for a while by herself, is the packaging discreet?
Does anyone have to sign for it or do they post through letter box?

So excited to start. Feeling positive.

The packaging is just a pink box, doesn’t say the sender or any information but it does say fridge item on it a few times. I was worried about the same thing. It’s too big for a letterbox butI don’t think it needs to be signed for as my postman left mine outside as I wasn’t in.

good luck :)

Needtomust96 · 18/01/2025 08:24

Just woke up to my blood test results. They were submitted at 00.15. Is it possible to get accepted over the weekend? Or is it likely to be next week?

RachCmomma · 18/01/2025 09:22

Right I get you now!
It's completely normal to be nervous. I am too. But also excited to get some of this weight off. X

BigBloodyStupidHat · 18/01/2025 09:22

@Needtomust96 when did you send your blood test off? Mine arrived at the lab on Wednesday and I haven't heard anything since.

RachCmomma · 18/01/2025 09:24

I received my blood test kit yesterday but didn't have time to do it. Can I do it today or will I need to wait till Monday? Xx

Needtomust96 · 18/01/2025 09:25

@BigBloodyStupidHat Sent off Wednesday, received by them on Thursday at 8.15am.
