Hello! Is anyone starting or recently started with Shemed? I think there's a few of us on the boards. I started posting on a different thread when I was looking into MJ but thought it would be nice for us to have somewhere to share our experiences of the journey!

I'm Fatsia. My bmi is huge (22 stone with 11 stone to lose ideally. I'd be happy with less!). I put on a lot of weight after having kids and have tried all the usual things to lose it each time gaining more. We don't have a high income so it's taken some thinking before getting to this place and I'm really hopeful reading others stories of where this can lead. I. Really do want to experience the world in a slimmer body again.

I did the blood test today - stressed out this morning at the app was overloaded with so many starting on 2nd of Jan but the actual experience was great. I'm a bit needle phobic so it was great to have the little device to do the test.

Love to hear from any others interested in sharing experiences.

(Anyone wanting to debate SheMed as a company there are other threads where that is happening)

Morning everyone, just catching up on the chat. So good to hear everyone's updates. @CleverKhakiBear I am still waiting for my results. At this point I'm actually hoping they don't come through because I am away in London for the weekend and won't be able to receive the pen if they send it out. Hit and miss if my neighbours will be there too 😩

Reginaphalangeeeee · 16/01/2025 07:18

@Shmallow that's good to hear.

It has taken a lot for me to get to this place of action again and face scales (21 stone) and so worried I won't be accepted and I will have to face this on my own.

For those who have had blood test result back, do they show you all
The blood markers like your HB1Ac?
I did my blood test yesterday.

Good luck! I was 20st 2lb this time last year, so I know how you're feeling.

I've been on MJ since July, and I'm now 13st 9lb. It really, really works.

Shmallow · 16/01/2025 09:10

I'm going in! Pen is out of the fridge and I'm going to give it a go 😬

Shmallow · 16/01/2025 09:40

Super simple! So little pain I wasn't sure the needle was in. I went for my leg rather than my belly.

bluesmartie83 · 16/01/2025 09:47

Hi, I have found this group incredibly helpful with the decision to give this a go! I was sceptical about being tied in for 12 months but I know this is a change in lifestyle and I want this to be the last time I have to make such an intervention with my weight! I am 41 and 16 stone which is the heaviest I have ever been! I have yo-yo dieted for as long as I can remember and really would like to not think about food for every second of the day! I have tried every diet going some with some success and some with very little so here I am! I signed up last night and am awaiting my blood test kit. Not sure how long this takes to arrive? Hopefully soon because I am impatient to get going! Fingers crossed we will all be a healthier slimmer version of ourselves in the coming 12 months.

Tiredftmum · 16/01/2025 09:48

First jab done today! I was so nervous on the call but the lady was really reassuring! Fingers crossed for no side effects!

Shmallow · 16/01/2025 09:53

Jab day buddies @Tiredftmum!

welcome @bluesmartie83 hopefully the blood kit won't take too long. I think they may have caught up now, some of us had to wait quite a while during the NY rush. A year sounds daunting but I like that I know what the price will be for 12 months and I am very much hoping I might get down to a decent weight before it's over and can transition to maintenance.

Well done getting the first one done. When was your blood tests done?

Interested to see some people choose night time and other morning to jab. I wonder if there is a difference.

Shmallow · 16/01/2025 09:57

I think some people like to do it in the evening so they know they'll wake up and it'll probably have kicked in. I am just impatient!

I posted my sample back on the 7th and was approved on Sunday. Pen arrived Tuesday!
For me I chose the morning because I work from home Thursday mornings and I wanted to do it when I was home alone so my daughter didn’t try and help 😂

Reginaphalangeeeee · 16/01/2025 09:58

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne thank you for your message, Wow!!!
I can only dream of loosing that.

I haven't been able to set a goal weight as it feels too much pressure.
In my first instance I want to be under 20 stone. I have put on 14kg in the last 2 years so if I can neutralise that before Easter it would be great.

How did you decide your goal weight? Have you had to deal with loose skin?

TLMoo · 16/01/2025 10:01

@Reginaphalangeeeee I did mine last night! No side effects yet! Just an extraordinarily good sleep but I think that is just sheer relief that I've finally got a bit more of a chance to lose weight! Either way I feel bloomin fresh as a daisy today!

Wow that's great.

Is it know to help sleep?
I know it can make people feel a bit of fatigue.

CleverKhakiBear · 16/01/2025 10:02

Good morning! Welcome to all the new comers glad to have you all on this journey.

Congrats to everyone who jabbed today and yday! Hope your symptoms are okay let us know how you get on xx

@FollyDear I feel you, I've refreshed my app so much that I've now removed it from my Home Screen(iPhone) out of sight out of mind 😅🤞🏽

I decided my goal weight based on a healthy BMI.
As I'm 5' 3" that's about 9 - 10st. So I've got a bit to go.

I'm 68 and haven't got any loose skin, but at my age it's all a bit crepey anyway. 🤣🤣

Mazd323 · 16/01/2025 10:07

My blood sample has arrived with them today. When they're completed where will I be able to see the results in the app?

I believe it will show on the main page of the app lovely, I'm still waiting for results xx

Mazd323 · 16/01/2025 10:10

Thank you! When did you send your sample in?

CleverKhakiBear · 16/01/2025 10:15

@Mazd323 I sent mine on 9th and it was received on 10th xx

Shmallow · 16/01/2025 10:17

@CleverKhakiBear have you tried messaging them on insta? They might be able to tell you a bit more about when you'll have the results/check they haven't gone walkabout.

Mazd323 · 16/01/2025 10:18

Is it taking others this long to get their results?

Shmallow · 16/01/2025 10:21

@Mazd323 they've had a bit of a backlog with the Jan rush. But I did the blood test last Thursday, they received it Friday, I had the results and was approved on Tuesday and my pen arrived yesterday.

CleverKhakiBear · 16/01/2025 10:37

@Shmallow I messaged them on facebook on Tuesday and this was their response

"I was able to confirm that our labs received your bloods and are processing your results. You should hear from us in the coming days."

That same day to updated my app to say it may take up to 4 business days to receive report so I guess I may be getting mine by next week 🤷🏽‍♀️

The wait is killing meeee, I'm even dreaming about starting MJ 🤣

Shmallow · 16/01/2025 10:48

ugh I feel you it is SO frustrating waiting! At least once they are done it seems to be suuuuper swift and you'll be jabbing in no time!

Catgrill · 16/01/2025 11:39

Hello!

Been lurking for a while but thought I should do a post. I received my pen today with shemed, going to inject this afternoon. The process has been a little lengthy due to their influx of sign ups but straight forward (I signed up on December 26th). My blood tests came back ok apart from GGT which was very high and I’m kinda worried about it. I’m currently almost 19stone which is the heaviest I’ve ever been so excited to go on this journey! So nice to know that there’s others on this with me :)
