Hello! Is anyone starting or recently started with Shemed? I think there's a few of us on the boards. I started posting on a different thread when I was looking into MJ but thought it would be nice for us to have somewhere to share our experiences of the journey!

I'm Fatsia. My bmi is huge (22 stone with 11 stone to lose ideally. I'd be happy with less!). I put on a lot of weight after having kids and have tried all the usual things to lose it each time gaining more. We don't have a high income so it's taken some thinking before getting to this place and I'm really hopeful reading others stories of where this can lead. I. Really do want to experience the world in a slimmer body again.

I did the blood test today - stressed out this morning at the app was overloaded with so many starting on 2nd of Jan but the actual experience was great. I'm a bit needle phobic so it was great to have the little device to do the test.

Love to hear from any others interested in sharing experiences.

(Anyone wanting to debate SheMed as a company there are other threads where that is happening)

All approved, now just waiting for the pen!

Bit nervous though as I am in the office tomorrow and my pen will be delivered while I’m out! However, they popped the blood test through the post box, so hoping they will do the same for the pen?

badgersnakemushroom · 15/01/2025 16:22

Hi all, just found this forum and though i'd say hi. Myself and my wife have both signed up, so it will be great to be doing it together (hopefully). We did our blood tests yesterday and sent them off before lunch. Royal Mail app says still in Warrington warehouse, so the wait begins.

Shmallow · 15/01/2025 16:38

Don't worry @badgersnakemushroom pretty sure my blood test says it's still in the sorting office but they got it and I have the results and my pen arrived today. Fab that you can spur each other on!

Great news @Bananaramram

@CleverKhakiBear I've probably missed it, are you sorted now or still waiting?

I'm so glad I hadn't just jabbed for the first time when I got ill or I'd have thought it was symptoms! If I feel better tomorrow I'll jab then. For now, the pen is in the fridge and I'm already using the side effect meds they sent with it 🤣

That's fab @Bananaramram 🥳

I am still waiting @Shmallow I don't know what's worse this or the two week wait 🤣

Hi to all the new joiners!

@badgersnakemushroom , doing the programme together, that’s so lovely and supportive!

That’s great news @Bananaramram . The first injection comes in a big box that contains a care package and a sharps container so unfortunately can’t go through letterbox. I had to get mine delivered to a neighbour. Hoping the next pen can fit through.

@Shmallow Hope you feel better soon. I’m jabbing tomorrow!

Hope all had a good day and managing the side effects okay. I can’t wait to get started tomorrow!

Primotomb · 15/01/2025 17:13

For those who have already had their pens, did you get to choose a delivery date or do they just send automatically once approved?

xxCatCrazyxx · 15/01/2025 17:20

@Primotomb it just gets sent automatically once approved.

Primotomb · 15/01/2025 17:34

Thanks @xxCatCrazyxx

Nice to catch up with our little community 😊 SheMed seems to be catching up after the Xmas/New Year break and I’m really pleased I chose to sign up with them.
Gearing up for my second jab tomorrow and a little anxious as had a couple of really bad days with side effects. All gone now and hoping they don’t return with my second dose 😬
On the plus side there’s definitely been a change in my appetite - I’ve hardly felt hungry at all. It’s a novelty not to be fighting the urge to snack!
I’ve not weighed myself all week so super excited to see if I’ve lost tomorrow 🤞

RumPirate · 15/01/2025 19:37

My pen arrived today - it never updated past the dispensed stage onto the shipping stage so I wasn't expecting it.

I am going to jab first thing tomorrow. I don't know Thursday is a good day for me as I am in the office usually - though not for the next couple of weeks. I am hoping the symptoms on jab day aren't too strong. If they are, I will switch to an evening jab maybe.

When we jab - do we need to weigh in on that day at the same time?

bertieallsort · 15/01/2025 16:12

Just signed up today & waiting for my blood test to be sent out. Super anxious right now, has anyone else had a panic about whether they were doing the right thing after signing up?
I’ve told my other half about it & he’s very supportive but I’m so anxious!

Yes, when they said they were sending the pen I suddenly wondered if I'd done the right thing. But I was desperate or I wouldn't have signed up in the first place!

Yes, but you can do it anytime that suits you. I am on second jab and possibly one of the lucky ones but no real symptoms to speak of

Bigknickers56 · 15/01/2025 20:51

Hi everyone. I have been looking at your chat for a couple of days and have decided to sign up for Shemed. I am pre-diabetic and have raised cholesterol, and have around 4 stones to lose .
It will be nice to be able to share the "shrinking" journey with you all. 😄

badgersnakemushroom · 15/01/2025 21:01

Tracking now says delivered so hopefully I get the test results soon 😀

It was just sent out. Tracking didn’t work it turned up quickly.

Earthgirl3971 · 15/01/2025 22:01

Hi, I'd like to join please.

I've just submitted bloods today and got them in the post 🙌

I'm 41, over 13st and have both PCOS and Endometriosis so seem to fit the eligibility bill, but it's all based on blood health isn't it, and that baseline needs to be set.

I have a 40 inch waist and 40inch back.

So fed up of not being able to wear trousers unless they have an elasticated waist and not being able to buy nice bras.

Hope to follow on with you all, thanks to the original poster for making this helpful thread. ☺️

Annathomps · 15/01/2025 22:37

How long after receiving your blood test results did you then get your approval?
I’ve just this minute had mine come through and 40% is in the red range!
Worried this will mean I won’t be accepted…

TLMoo · 15/01/2025 22:55

@Annathomps most of mine were in the red range and I got my pen today so fingers crossed 🤞

xxCatCrazyxx · 16/01/2025 06:17

@Annathomps My results were the same and I have my pen ready to go today! 🤞

Shmallow · 16/01/2025 06:45

Yeah red range is ok because it's just a baseline for them to measure against. Apparently there's not a lot that will mean they can prescribe it, blood wise.

I got my blood results and approval one day and the pen arrived the next day! I'm going to be jabbing for the first time this evening.

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden and those who have done the first one. Do you need to weigh on that first jab call too?

Shmallow · 16/01/2025 06:45

Sorry not a lot that means they CAN'T prescribe it 😅 it's too early and I shouldn't be awake

Reginaphalangeeeee · 16/01/2025 07:18

@Shmallow that's good to hear.

It has taken a lot for me to get to this place of action again and face scales (21 stone) and so worried I won't be accepted and I will have to face this on my own.

For those who have had blood test result back, do they show you all
The blood markers like your HB1Ac?
I did my blood test yesterday.

TLMoo · 16/01/2025 07:43

@Shmallow yes will need to weigh on the check in but I think I was on that call for less than a minute! They do ask if you want to inject whilst on the call or on your own.

@Reginaphalangeeeee I never got a diabetes result on mine for some reason but everything else was broken down, to be honest it's the best blood work report I've ever had! Cholesterol, thyroid and liver levels all laid out very clearly.

TLMoo · 16/01/2025 07:45

@Shmallow also good luck with your first jab! I feel ok no crazy side effects and I slept better last night than I have in years, had my jab around 8pm and I've just woken up very well rested!

That is good to hear.
I have other blood tests this year so know that routine things they test on full blood count etc including liver function was ok.
Don't think I've had cholesterol tested before though and no check for Diabetes since I was pregnant 10 year ago.

This may be a silly concern to have but I wish they didn't have to tell your GP. I avoid going as have been fat shamed to the point it really affects my engagement with them. I don't think I want to be on their radar now at 21 stone. I know they won't contact me, but having it on my records worries me.
