Hello! Is anyone starting or recently started with Shemed? I think there's a few of us on the boards. I started posting on a different thread when I was looking into MJ but thought it would be nice for us to have somewhere to share our experiences of the journey!

I'm Fatsia. My bmi is huge (22 stone with 11 stone to lose ideally. I'd be happy with less!). I put on a lot of weight after having kids and have tried all the usual things to lose it each time gaining more. We don't have a high income so it's taken some thinking before getting to this place and I'm really hopeful reading others stories of where this can lead. I. Really do want to experience the world in a slimmer body again.

I did the blood test today - stressed out this morning at the app was overloaded with so many starting on 2nd of Jan but the actual experience was great. I'm a bit needle phobic so it was great to have the little device to do the test.

Love to hear from any others interested in sharing experiences.

(Anyone wanting to debate SheMed as a company there are other threads where that is happening)

@tinyemmy there's no T4 result but TSH is 13.7 x

Yes that's high, you should definitely be on thyroxine. I think the only reason they might say no is that you might find it easier to lose weight once medicated?
I was fine until perimenopause and had a BMI between 22 and 25 until a couple of years ago.

CleverKhakiBear · 14/01/2025 08:37

Morning aww fab news @TLMoo @Shmallow I am still waiting for my results hopefully they come through today xx

Mazd323 · 14/01/2025 08:50

Where do people inject? Is there a 'better' area? Stomach, thigh, arm?

Shmallow · 14/01/2025 08:52

ahh I hope so @CleverKhakiBear it's so frustrating waiting all the time! Mine were in at 1am so they must be working round the clock?!

Having looked at videos of ppls experience with mj most tend to alternate jab sights and it really does come down to how your body responds, some say arm others thigh give them better results. I guess it's all trial and error looking for what works for you xx

CleverKhakiBear · 14/01/2025 08:55

@Shmallow did you get a notification they were in or did you just see it when you went on the app?x

Shmallow · 14/01/2025 08:56

@CleverKhakiBear I woke up to an email and a notification from the app as well.

Ok thank you, I will try and stop refreshing the app now lol and fingers toes and everything crossed 🤞🏽

FollyDear · 14/01/2025 09:55

My blood results were delivered first thing this morning, not showing as received in the app yet though. I'm a few days behind some of you - was it 3-5 days wait for the results like the app says? I'm feeling very impatient 😂

Lotusbug · 14/01/2025 10:03

Morning everyone! Hope everyone who has started their injections is feeling okay and those waiting for results get them and the approval soon!

I did my first weigh in and second jab today! I thought I might have to wait a while to connect as it was first thing and probably peak time but connected straight away! Braved doing my injection myself off camera this week which was sooo much easier! I’m 8lb down (aware most of this is just water weight but still pretty chuffed!) and looking forward to week 2 :)

TLMoo · 14/01/2025 10:27

Woooooohooo I've been approved! I'll be getting on to my GP too about my thyroid and hopefully now I might actually be able to get my weight under control! @Shmallow hoping yours has come through too as well seem to have been in sync throughout!

Second jab for me tomorrow. I was hoping to do it tomorrow morning first thing as I'm now storing it in my bedroom.
Are you allowed to do the jab and then connect to do the weigh in? I'm just thinking I can get the jab done and dusted as that is the longest but and takes the pressure off

I don’t see why not! I just had to have the box handy for them to scan this morning 😊

DIYMum · 14/01/2025 11:35

@Lotusbug Wow, well done 👏
Just watched the Panorama documentary on weight loss medication through NHS - great to see the difference it can make.

Shmallow · 14/01/2025 11:42

Great loss @Lotusbug ! Must be so motivating.

@TLMoo that's fab that they've approved! I'm still waiting to hear but hopefully won't be long.

@FollyDear I posted Thursday and it arrived Friday and I got the results at 1am this morn

Shmallow · 14/01/2025 11:46

They've just emailed to ask me to update my gp details on the app but they're already on there? The clinician apparently needs me to do it to progress but I don't really know what to do other than reply with a screenshot!

Shmallow · 14/01/2025 11:55

Oh but they've just taken the money to yippeeeeeeee! Assuming that means I'm in!!

TLMoo · 14/01/2025 12:02

@Shmallow woooohoooo! And so it begins! I would love to think I had the patience to wait to jab until Friday but I'll be jabbing that thing as soon as I get home from work tomorrow!

CleverKhakiBear · 14/01/2025 12:06

@Lotusbug that's an amazing loss well done!

@TLMoo @Shmallow yayyy 🥳
