Hello! Is anyone starting or recently started with Shemed? I think there's a few of us on the boards. I started posting on a different thread when I was looking into MJ but thought it would be nice for us to have somewhere to share our experiences of the journey!

I'm Fatsia. My bmi is huge (22 stone with 11 stone to lose ideally. I'd be happy with less!). I put on a lot of weight after having kids and have tried all the usual things to lose it each time gaining more. We don't have a high income so it's taken some thinking before getting to this place and I'm really hopeful reading others stories of where this can lead. I. Really do want to experience the world in a slimmer body again.

I did the blood test today - stressed out this morning at the app was overloaded with so many starting on 2nd of Jan but the actual experience was great. I'm a bit needle phobic so it was great to have the little device to do the test.

Love to hear from any others interested in sharing experiences.

(Anyone wanting to debate SheMed as a company there are other threads where that is happening)

@Monmonss the liquid is completely clear and basically hard to see at all. So don't panic! Yes it's the same pen for all 4 doses.

If you feel the glass vial part, you'll find some raised markers to indicate each dose. The grey plunger inside the glass vial should be at the first marker now, nearest to the twisting end of the pen.

Monmonss · 11/01/2025 12:16

I don't think there's any liquid left and the plunger is all the way down. Not sure how this happened as I've done exactly what she said at the check in. I can't get in touch with them anymore as their phone lines are not open on Saturday.

SilenceInside · 11/01/2025 12:22

@Monmonss can you post a picture of the pen?

KrankyKumquat · 11/01/2025 12:22

See photo attached of how pen should look after each dose

Panic over. There's definitely liquid left inside. Thank you @SilenceInside!

That makes sense. Thanks for that @KrankyKumquat

SilenceInside · 11/01/2025 12:42

@Monmonss glad it's all sorted! I've actually responded before to a couple of other people who've posted with the same question!

CleverKhakiBear · 11/01/2025 12:43

Afternoon all! So much to catch up on, well done to those who have jabbed today let us know how you feel.

Anyone got any updates with their bloods yet? I keep checking the app hoping to see something there lol x

bumblebee1987 · 11/01/2025 12:57

MummySharkDooDoo · 10/01/2025 22:34

@bumblebee1987 I was able to do mine today but my original email said Saturday so you must be able to do it then too.
I also didn't need to fast. I think the emails have updated information.
It took me about 20 mins start to finish.

Thank you!

I did mine today, but I've messed up and think it will be invalid and I'll probably have to buy a new kit, which is so annoying! Firstly, my kit didn't come with the transportation tube or the heat pad thing, so I've had to send back the sample without the tube, so hoping they still process it. Then I put the blood collection tube on the wrong way round and collected blood in the bottom, so had to take it off and made a mess 🤣 Then after I had done it, I realised that I had missed all of the local post collection times for today (I thought I had until 12!), so it's now going to sit in a post box until Monday. Only plus side is that at least it's cold out?!

What an idiot. Feels like a big waste of £49 and now I've lost time as I will probably need to do it all again next week.

Yes me too @SilenceInside !
The mechanics of the pens are a bit of a mystery until you've done it a couple of times aren't they? I remember thinking I'd see a number 2 and thought there was no medication in the tube - maybe they should add a bit of dye 😅. Back in the day, there was very little advice around on SM too so we really struggled.

Shmallow · 11/01/2025 13:59

Just had confirmation they've got the blood despite royal mail not updating, so that's good! Just have to wait for the results now.

Fab news welcome to the waiting game 🤭

Shmallow · 11/01/2025 15:27

Haha thanks @CleverKhakiBear I'm extremely bad at this game!

TLMoo · 11/01/2025 16:40

@Shmallow have you spoken to someone for that update? Or was that via the app? Xx

Shmallow · 11/01/2025 17:00

@tlmooI messaged them via insta and they checked for me.

TLMoo · 11/01/2025 17:01

@Shmallow yes that's the same as me then yesterday! I just can't cope with the waiting it's driving me insane! Realistically I e won't hear till Monday now but will that stop me refreshing the app and my emails every 5 minutes? No. No it won't haha.

Mazd323 · 11/01/2025 17:15

Mazd323 · 11/01/2025 18:20

Mazd323 · 11/01/2025 18:36

Sorry for all the questions!

Does the blood test go through the letter box or do you need to be in when it is delivered?

Hi everybody. Can anybody who has already started please tell me what happens at the weekly check ins?

I've only done the initial check in to jab but I think they are the same. They asked me to show the QR code on the box of medication, I had to go and weigh and show them the scales then they asked me if I needed help with the the jab. I said yes and I'm pleased as it is was a little confusing to start - I ended up having to jab myself twice as I hadn't put all the medication in. Now I know what I'm doing it's easy so going forward it should be pretty quick - share weight and tell them you've done the jab, probably share the box code again. I also had to wait no longer than about 30 seconds for someone to connect so all really quick. Could be done and dusted in under 5 mins once you know what you're doing!

Thanks for the reply. Sounds pretty easy. If you don’t mind me asking where did you decide to inject?

I think it depends on the size of your letter box lovely xx

Mazd323 · 11/01/2025 18:52

Haha fair point. Does it fit in a normal size letterbox on a door?
