Hello! Is anyone starting or recently started with Shemed? I think there's a few of us on the boards. I started posting on a different thread when I was looking into MJ but thought it would be nice for us to have somewhere to share our experiences of the journey!

I'm Fatsia. My bmi is huge (22 stone with 11 stone to lose ideally. I'd be happy with less!). I put on a lot of weight after having kids and have tried all the usual things to lose it each time gaining more. We don't have a high income so it's taken some thinking before getting to this place and I'm really hopeful reading others stories of where this can lead. I. Really do want to experience the world in a slimmer body again.

I did the blood test today - stressed out this morning at the app was overloaded with so many starting on 2nd of Jan but the actual experience was great. I'm a bit needle phobic so it was great to have the little device to do the test.

Love to hear from any others interested in sharing experiences.

(Anyone wanting to debate SheMed as a company there are other threads where that is happening)

@CleverKhakiBear

I posted the blood test back on Tuesday, tracking showed it delivered Wednesday morning. Last night it was still showing as "we are waiting for your blood test" on the app. The blood results were there fisrt thing this morning.

TLMoo · 10/01/2025 09:46

They have been looking into where my blood test is for 40 minutes and had no joy yet so I'm not hopeful!

Oh no! I hope they sort it 🫤

DIYMum · 10/01/2025 11:43

Good luck everyone with blood results. I have to admit it’s been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster chasing results/eligibility and then my payment card was refused initially! Hopefully all worth it in the end.
Good luck @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden with your first jab today.
So far so good as far as side effects go although it’s very early days 🤞

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 10/01/2025 07:35

Thanks @Lotusbug . Hope you're going okay 😁.

All well here thanks, feeling great! Had a sneaky jump on the scales this morning and I’m 7lb down since Tuesday so heading in the right direction 🥳

the weekend will be the real test though 😂

Tiredftmum · 10/01/2025 13:01

Shmallow · 10/01/2025 09:37

Ahh thanks, mine has reached their sorting office I think, but hasn't been delivered yet.

My tracking still says it’s at the delivery office but Shemed have confirmed they received it yesterday so I think Royal Mail are having an issue with their online tracking system

Shmallow · 10/01/2025 13:06

wow @Lotusbug what an incredible start!

Good to know @Tiredftmum, mine is saying it's just sitting at the sorting office since 2am so hopefully they've had it delivered.

I've just checked with them about holidays (on insta, seems to the best way to get a quick response for general stuff!). Basically could do the jab while away and then when you get back do a check in and log the jab as a past injection with the date it was done, to make sure you receive the next one on time. But, I think I might buy some travel scales. I'm only away for a week but would rather keep totally on top of it and be able to check in.

They also confirmed they have 24/7 proctors so time differences won't matter for the calls - also means very early morning blood tests are fine!

RedHillLady · 10/01/2025 14:05

I've just had the email to say my prescription has been approved and should be sent out today! I was a bit worried after reading the blood results. Can't wait to get started now.

Bananaramram · 10/01/2025 15:24

They told me I could send the blood test today so that’s off! Feeling excited, it’s very real now!

Also it’s a good thing I don’t mind blood because the device kept falling off and I ended up poking myself with a sewing needle and collecting it from a finger 😂

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 10/01/2025 15:29

@RedHillLady great your prescription is on its way!
@Lotusbug Wow!!! That's great. How are you feeling?
@TLMoo ,Hope they find it!!

Those waiting for blood test results (I think there's several of you!) I, ope you hear soon :)

I did my first jab at lunchtime.
I'm quite needle phobic and have put that out my head but still felt anxious once I took the actual bit off the top and saw it and wasn't sure I could do it to myself.

The person on the other end is reading a script and didn't offer any reassurance either. It did make me wonder if anything actually went wrong/broken needle etc if theyd actually know anything or if they're just there to log weights and record lot numbers. (and if so what a boring job!!)

However didn't feel needle go in at all. Was surprised how much the pen needed to push but it was fine. Since then it's a bit tingly at the injection site but fine.

I've not lost 10 stone in the last 3 hours 😂.

Its great to be going through it all with you.

Omg really??!!! That sounds a bit not good! Did they still supervise that/suggest that? Well done. I think you need extra gold stars or something!

They didn’t supervise the blood test - I said I was fine doing it and now regret it haha!

So excited to hear your progress! Let us know re side effects - I can’t decide if I do it over weekend for max suppression or Tuesday night so worst of symptoms has passed over my two rest days from the gym…

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 10/01/2025 16:04

The email said that they checked with the lab and fasting isn't actually required for the test so thats good

Good heavens, they don't sound very professional, do they?
You'd think they'd have figured all this out at the start.
And telling some people that they don't even need to do the blood test is also weird.

Shmallow · 10/01/2025 16:06

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden great that the first one is out of the way! Fingers crossed for a good weekend for you.

@Bananaramram crikey that sounds like it was a bit of an ordeal! Hopefully the next one will stick better 😬

Nothing to report here, got quite a bit on to distract me this evening but if the labs are working over the weekend hopefully my results will come in then.

KeenGreen · 10/01/2025 17:01

Those who sent blood test back yesterday have you heard anything from SheMed?

I know some heard straight away, but aside from Royal Mail tracking not heard anything,

But also heard some say they heard nothing in app between sending it and results published?

I think I’m just nervous 🙈 but I know that it could be several days.

OneAzureMaker · 10/01/2025 17:21

Well, I have literally just done my first jab. I was a nurse for years so thought I knew what I was doing and removed the needle once fully depressed, only for her to say and wait 5 seconds, so a few tiny, tiny drops lost. But all very straightforward.

We shall see, my biggest fear is nausea, I had hyperemesis with my pregnancies and really struggle with that feeling.

How have those who have already started felt?

I've only had email that said to have a look round the app while I wait for results 🙈 nothing else x

Shmallow · 10/01/2025 17:26

@KeenGreen same as @CleverKhakiBear , just had the email to zoom around the app.. which tells me there's nothing to see until the blood tests are in 😆

Thanks Both,

Yes had the same email and ‘explored’ the app too 😬🤣

Hopefully we will hear Monday 🤞

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 10/01/2025 17:56

Yes there's not much to actually "explore" is there!!!

Hope you all hear soon - you probably be jabbing next week - have you thought what days?

OP posts:
KeenGreen · 10/01/2025 18:02

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden

if approved (🤞)

I think I’ll likely jab on Friday, I mostly WFH on Fridays so good day to do the check in, and gives me the opportunity to get over side effects and have maximum coverage over the weekend.

So if approved Monday I’m hoping it will be here to jab on Friday.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 10/01/2025 18:04

Sounds a plan!

CleverKhakiBear · 10/01/2025 18:30

I hope to jab on a Friday too xx
