Hello! Is anyone starting or recently started with Shemed? I think there's a few of us on the boards. I started posting on a different thread when I was looking into MJ but thought it would be nice for us to have somewhere to share our experiences of the journey!

I'm Fatsia. My bmi is huge (22 stone with 11 stone to lose ideally. I'd be happy with less!). I put on a lot of weight after having kids and have tried all the usual things to lose it each time gaining more. We don't have a high income so it's taken some thinking before getting to this place and I'm really hopeful reading others stories of where this can lead. I. Really do want to experience the world in a slimmer body again.

I did the blood test today - stressed out this morning at the app was overloaded with so many starting on 2nd of Jan but the actual experience was great. I'm a bit needle phobic so it was great to have the little device to do the test.

Love to hear from any others interested in sharing experiences.

(Anyone wanting to debate SheMed as a company there are other threads where that is happening)

Update! I ordered 31/12 and just had an update via email and app notification that my blood test has been shipped! Yay!

KeenGreen · 08/01/2025 14:41

@TheGladLilacDuck

Me too!
I got very excited got an app notification and email from SheMed saying it has shipped and I also ordered on 31st December. They are clearly doing it in batches.

The odd thing is that the app said shipped for ages, but not as a notification.

I am still slightly skeptical though as it said will get a delivery carrier notification e.g. royal mail and not had that yet, so I hope it has actually shipped!
Trouble is, I think I saw from PP it said to test only Monday - Thursday so in all likelihood by time it arrives will be testing next week :-(

Shmallow · 08/01/2025 14:45

oh no that's a good point, because of when labs are open I guess. Mine is due tomorrow; I will go nil by mouth until it arrives just in case I can sneak the test in tomorrow morning!

Let us know how you get on! Hope it arrives in the morning or you'll be famished!

Fingers crossed I will be able to test Monday.

I also have veins that 'duck' so every blood test at the Drs is an adventure. The device they use is painless, so painless in fact that as it took a while to fill the vial so I could see it, I thought "shit, maybe I didn't push it hard enough"

Same, it took over the minute it warned you about, probably a minute and a half. Very clever, I couldn't see a needle so not sure how it works!?!

@DIYMum I’m in Scotland and I started SheMed a few weeks ago! It just means you need to take the blood test results into your GP yourself. SheMed have posted to me without any issue. Working for me so far, 4.5kg down since the 24th of December (my first injection date). Struggling a bit with side effects but will power on! Starting weight was 19st (120.7kg) and today I’m 18st 4lbs (116.2kg), not bad for two weeks!

@GigiTheGiantPanda Thankyou for your post.
I was about to give up but sent off my blood test anyways having seen your post, thinking I might still be rejected.
Results have come back clear and a prescription has been issued and is on its way. 👏
I’m so fed up of being overweight - excited to be joining you lovely lot on this journey.
Hoping I can start on Friday if it arrives on time 🤞

Shmallow · 08/01/2025 17:12

That's fab new @DIYMum 🙌

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 08/01/2025 17:19

Ooh fab DIY same day as me!

Hope those waiting get their blood tests soon and others get results soon.

Finally got the notification that mine has been shipped, woohoo!

xxCatCrazyxx · 08/01/2025 17:33

Blood test shipped email today too! I just need to get this journey started!

CleverKhakiBear · 08/01/2025 18:01

@DIYMum yay love this!

@Bananaramram @xxCatCrazyxx fab news! Looks like some of us will get our results by next week then and possibly start by the following week depending how fast it takes for results and pen delivery x

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 08/01/2025 18:07

Pen delivery was really fast for me. Pretty much next day. So posted blood test 2nd delivery on 4th.

I have seen on another thread med express currently taking over a week so I guess all providers have their issues and shemed communication is just their current downfall!

I'm thinking of taking photos and measurements as as scary as that will be Ive read elsewhere that people value it later on.

Am thinking once a month. I might weight morning of jab day for my own benefit too as I'll be jabbing after lunch so there will be a bit of a variable there!

CleverKhakiBear · 08/01/2025 18:17

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden pics and measurements are a great way to track weight loss as it won't always reflect on the scales x

I want to do this too along with weighing on jab day. I'm also hoping to start gym once a lose a good amount so that I can build muscle and tone. I carry a lot of my weight in my tummy and also have a large overhang. I can't weight to begin this journey!x

MummySharkDooDoo · 08/01/2025 18:44

I also got an email today to say my blood test had been shipped too.
I only ordered on Saturday so impressed with the speed of things so far.

TLMoo · 07/01/2025 21:39

@ploot I'm with you on the Royal Mail obsession! My blood test was sent back tracked 24 hours before 8am yesterday and it's been sat in the same place at a distribution centre since 4am today! I can NOT tell you how many times an hour I am checking the tracking! But it's an unhealthy amount haha! Now panicking that it will be sat there too long and the test won't be viable! I have my fingers and toes crossed you get a very early delivery first thing tomorrow!

Mine is exactly the same, sat in Warrington since 4am and I am checking the tracking every hour 😂

TLMoo · 08/01/2025 19:29

@Tiredftmum of it helps mine stayed like that until 8am this morning when it was delivered.... next issue is it's not updated on the SheMed app as received it's still telling me to send it haha! Hopefully by the time someone finds it before it's no use to anyone!!

FollyDear · 08/01/2025 19:30

Just got an email from SheMed to say my test has been dispatched, wahoo! Hopefully the one from Royal Mail won't be far behind. Looks like they sent a whole load of blood tests today!

That’s reassuring, I keep panicking that my blood has been lost! Hopefully your app updates for you soon 🤞🏼

KeenGreen · 08/01/2025 19:37

Ooo so many of us got the blood test dispatch notification!

I got it today too. But thought it might not arrive in time and I’d have to test Monday.

But I’ve just had an email from Royal Mail saying it will be delivered between 8.30 - 12.30 tomorrow! 🤩😱

So I am planning to do it tomorrow and get it sent back tomorrow too 🤞

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 08/01/2025 19:41

Wahooo!!! To all those of you whose blood tests have been sent out today. Let us know how you get on! Remember you can't do it Friday and have to have fasted/drink a pint of water 30mins before.

When you post it back you can use the tracking number to see where it's going. Shemed don't update the app when it literally is received by shemed but only after they have the resutls/upload them hence it saying "post your blood test" after you have!

Mine went Walkies though so they said they'd track it down.... I am really hoping they didn't just approve me based on answers as I'm worried about various things. Still have a blood test at the Dr's Monday. Just anxious as I want to be okay!

OP posts:
TLMoo · 08/01/2025 19:43

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden thank you for that I will TRY to stop checking it every 5 minutes!

Sorry you are feeling a bit anxious about the blood test, understandable given the disorganisation of it all the last week, fingers and toes are crossed your GP gives you some reassurance Monday though Daffodil

Sinseer · 08/01/2025 19:51

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone has been accepted by SheMed who is slightly below BMI of 30. When I ordered I was over but when I did blood test I just checked and I’m 29.9! It was a good day for bloating (I have endometriosis). I’m worried I won’t be accepted now 😔

Mine is slightly below 30 but have PCOS and am mixed race, as you have endometriosis you’ll be considered I’m sure 👍☺️

Fingers crossed for all our post tomorrow 📮💉

OneAzureMaker · 08/01/2025 21:04
