Shemed Starters - Support thread.

Hello! Is anyone starting or recently started with Shemed? I think there's a few of us on the boards. I started posting on a different thread when I was looking into MJ but thought it would be nice for us to have somewhere to share our experiences of the journey!

I'm Fatsia. My bmi is huge (22 stone with 11 stone to lose ideally. I'd be happy with less!). I put on a lot of weight after having kids and have tried all the usual things to lose it each time gaining more. We don't have a high income so it's taken some thinking before getting to this place and I'm really hopeful reading others stories of where this can lead. I. Really do want to experience the world in a slimmer body again.

I did the blood test today - stressed out this morning at the app was overloaded with so many starting on 2nd of Jan but the actual experience was great. I'm a bit needle phobic so it was great to have the little device to do the test.

Love to hear from any others interested in sharing experiences.

(Anyone wanting to debate SheMed as a company there are other threads where that is happening)

I sat at the window and stared forlornly and still didn't manifest a delivery 😂 Still, I've been using my time to eat all the things I might not fancy when it does happen!

So yesterday I got excited about the email saying they've shipped my blood test (after the app saying it was shipped since last week).

But I've not received anything from Royal Mail? I'm getting impatient 😂

Hello! I've joined Shemed, had a nightmare with the app so didn't do the blood test in the end (they are sending separately supposedly) but they approved me anyway!?!
The pen arrives tomorrow and I'm very tempted to get started as soon as it arrives but...

1. I work from the office on a Thursday, am I like to get side effects that potentially go into Thursday and therefore I should delay
2. I go on holiday on Sunday 19th for a week and if I started on Sunday potentially I could jab first thing before I went and then not jab until I got back Sunday afternoon and then not need to take my own away OR could I jab say on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday but then jab a little late I presume not with Shemed and that I need to keep to the same day forever.

I know I'm overthinking it but it needs to be the same day for a year so I need to make sure it's a good choice? Or what will be will be... I could potentially start post holiday but just want to get going as I'm going skiing and salopettes are so tight and my joints really hurt and having a couple of weeks weight loss will help. I also signed up to slimming world so will do this alongside my weigh in day on Slimming World is Wednesday. I look forward to joining you all ❤️

@ploot I'm with you on the Royal Mail obsession! My blood test was sent back tracked 24 hours before 8am yesterday and it's been sat in the same place at a distribution centre since 4am today! I can NOT tell you how many times an hour I am checking the tracking! But it's an unhealthy amount haha! Now panicking that it will be sat there too long and the test won't be viable! I have my fingers and toes crossed you get a very early delivery first thing tomorrow!

haha I feel you, I stress ate half a pack of Oreo’s whilst looking out the window thinking Royal Mail had forgot about me today 😂

Just a tip for anyone who may not be receiving emails- SheMed told me today they’re having problems with iCloud email addresses and their IT team are looking into it. I’ve updated mine to a non-iCloud one and it’s working fine now 😊

@Shmallow I may be doing this! Also alcohol. Had a little drink each night for a few days and I don't normally drink - just know that many people go off it!
@tinyemmy They approved you without a blood test????? I'm still sligjtly worried they've done that to me and lost my blood test/there was an issue with it. The man on the phone told me as it was approved my blood must have been okay...

I have an old school Hotmail one... I've had their emails fine, just no Royal Mail one 😂

I have to say that they sound very, very disorganised. Worryingly so.

Omg same here! It had said shipped on the app since last week but I received the shipped email yesterday. No Royal Mail tracking after that x

Yes, they told me to bin the blood test I'd done and approved me anyway. They said there was very little on the blood test that they would reject for and it's mainly a baseline to compare to. So I think it's more your questionnaire that they care about?

I hope it is too. It’ll be a tad stressful if it’s 12 months of chasing things up and stuff going wrong!

that said, I got connected straight away tonight so maybe the clinical stuff is a bit smoother!

Ah, that's nonsense.
I thought they were running a clinical trial, but they seem to be very slapdash!

They will still do the blood test they just said they couldn't do it as part of the app as I couldn't connect properly after multiple attempts. Perhaps the blood test will arrive with the medication tomorrow?

I'm genuinely quite surprised.

And it's not what I was told
I'm concerned as I don't want to start meds as I was concerned my levels could be raised as I'm very high bmi.

A pp on this thread was rejected for raised something.

I have regular blood tests as I have a thyroid issues, so no concerns from that perspective.

Final a royal mail update, test now coming tomorrow. Will believe it when I see it!

I’ve had a few mild side effects- a touch of nausea and some heartburn (got to crack open the complimentary gaviscon 😂) but nothing major and this morning is the first morning I can ever remember waking up not hungry or dying for a coffee!

Posted my blood test back yesterday, tracked it this morning and it is out for delivery. I hope they don't take too long to process it!

tinyemmy - I've got a blood test with the gp booked for Monday but do suspect I've got some issues. 🤞 all is okay.

Only 2 days still I start now!

I'm feeling mostly ok, no actual problems but I do feel a little windy. Also felt cold last night, but that could just be because it's bloody freezing out there.

Glad you’re feeling okay! I feel totally fine as the morning has went on. Still don’t feel hungry which is a novelty 😂

I also finally got the Royal Mail email, blood test coming tomorrow too ☺️
