I’ve bought a new bathroom scales and they weigh 2 pounds heavier than my old ones (I’ve passed the old ones onto a friend) This is going to mess up my weight loss journey. Has this happened to anyone else?

My old scales were a bit dodgy so I swapped and bought Renpho ones as someone on here recommended them. I was 2lb heavier I think, these things happen. You still actually weigh the same as you did. Can't remember if it was here or on another thread I follow but someone had their height done at a hospital appointment and was a couple of cms shorter than they thought which changed their BMI.

Searchingforthelight · 02/01/2025 21:25

I have a bit of a NSV
Preparing for return to work- have been off since mid December
Tried on some lovely dresses that were gathering dust in wardrobe for some years, on the off chance they were close to fitting me again, and all but a few did

So I have plenty of 'new' clothes ready for return to work
Had really lost interest in looking after myself until MJ, had given up really. But am now matching jewelry to the 'new' outfits for the new year

Polar opposite to my pre-MJ misery!

Why would it mess up your journey? That sounds extreme. Just adjust everything two lbs up from your start weight if it bothers you?

I’m just going to accept whatever the scales say on my weigh day.

Me too! I've bought fee new clothes, as I know I'll need to (hopefully) buy a smaller size again soon, but I've got myself some new makeup, jewellery, and hair stylers. I'm much more intetested in looking after my appearance now, thanks to MJ. I only started it two and a half months ago and I've lost almost 2 and a half stone... it's life-transforming. When I think how I considered waiting until the new year to begin...!! 🤦🏼‍♀️

It's a renewed interest in appearance that was long gone, right?! And it's such fun!

I've bought those fancy Victoria Beckham eyeliners as they kept appearing on my Facebook feed! Also a few new pairs of shoes for new new year. Don't want to buy lots of clothes just yet, though have gotten a few. Getting 'new' clothes from my own wardrobe is also fun!

Hadn't bought myself new things in years, had lost interest altogether. Just now I see how sad that was

All hail Mounjaro, right?!!

@terracottacountryfarm Please let me know how you get on with the next dose. I am taking bonus dose on Saturday then onto 10 next week. I know everyone is different but someone I know said 10 was the magic dose for her and she still on it 3 months later

Hi @Gilly1C, I took the bonus dose today. Appetite is still more suppressed than it would've been, were I not on MJ, but it's kept me wide awake this evening (as you can tell by the time) and I feel awfully nauseas.
I'm looking forward to going up to 10mg and hopefully it'll be the magic dose for us both!
I ordered 10mg and it should be arriving Monday. Let me know how you get on, fingers crossed you feel better than me Blush

coastergirl · 03/01/2025 02:16

@Searchingforthelight Are the Victoria Beckham eyeliners as good as they look?

Losingthetimber · 03/01/2025 08:05

Well I was half a pound down this morning, left on the 30th at 12.10.4 and was 12.9.9 this morning. Will take that, and see what tomorrow brings, as booze and salty food sees me retain some fluid.

tomorrow is weekly weigh day and my first 10mg. Also honestly glad to get back on track , back in the gym later today, and eating healthy and not having all the Xmas treats around. I resisted those, but it’s still a bit odd seeing everyone tuck into the baked Camembert and panettone, full fry ups for breakfast etc whilst you abstain. Mounjaro helped me through it, which I’m thankful for.

Witchlite · 03/01/2025 09:52

Just been to the hospital - thought I would pass on a NWSP. As someone who is (not for much longer) obese and has diabetes,PCOS etc, I developed non-alcoholic fatty liver. It is starting to reduce, they are very surprised by how much in just under 3 months … so happy.

Apparently, it is a recognised side-effect.

I’m not one of the biggest weight losers.

CW 177.6lbs
SW 201.6lbs 16th October
24lbs in 11-12 weeks

Maybe for its next trick Mounjaro can deal with world peace 😀

littleburn · 03/01/2025 09:58

@Gilly1C @terracottacountryfarm I took my first 10 dose on Tuesday and am back to good suppression/no food noise and no side-effects so far. I actually feel pretty good and energetic and only had mild side effects on lower dosages (tiredness, burps, a little nausea). I think I'm one of the lucky people who adapts quite well to MJ, albeit it has meant I have to up my dosage each month. I am hoping 10 is 'my dose' now though!

littleburn · 03/01/2025 10:03

@Witchlite that's amazing, you must be so pleased.

WafflingDreamer · 03/01/2025 10:13

I'm a daily weigher and according to my scales this morning I've lost the 3lb i gained over Christmas hopefully it'll stay that way for Tuesday, I work nights over the weekend and retain loads of water.

Also a NSV I went down a size in my scrub top at work this morning and it fits fine

LumionaMoonsplash · 03/01/2025 10:49

Morning. After weeks of a plateau, I've finally broken through to the next lb. I'm hoping it will start to move a bit quicker now I'm knocking 🍷on the head.

It's been a slow loss 📉 but I'm still really pleased. This year I'm focusing on nutrition, fitness and hydration. I've already put a lot of healthy habits in place over the last year. I make soup and bake wholemeal bread from scratch every week and eat lots of chicken and salmon with veg. I have a filled water bottle with me at all times. I've switched gyms to a nicer one which means I'll still go for a swim and steam if I don't have the energy for a workout.

Oh brilliant that's so good to hear. I am similar with side effects on the other doses hardly any. Good luck on this one, I hope I start off the same. Keep us posted

KolaKoalaKan · 03/01/2025 11:02

@Witchlite that's fabulous. You must be pleased. I have also developed NAFLD and I'm hoping that it helps my liver too!

@Mrsmajeeka sorry you've been having f a rough time. I find I have to go up in much much smaller increments than most and plateau there until I settle. So I'm currently taking the 'odd' amount of 4.65mg. This was up from 4.25mg and I still think it was too bit a jump as I've been badly suffering the side effects this week.

I keep reminding myself that the right dose for me is the right dose for me. I'm getting MJ through my local surgery and they are quite pushy on moving up 2.5 every month. But I just can't do it and function. I should be going onto 10 next week. I'm not! I don't get it. If I'm losing weight why does it matter that I'm on a lower dose? It's annoying me as the ANP who is responsible for my monthly check ins is very controlling and it feels quite judgmental. She also refused to prescribe me some anti-nausea meds because she said "it's meant to make you feel sick so you don't want to eat" which is patently bollocks and judgmental. I'm seeing my GP the day before my next review with her and hopefully I'll have a different response.

I'm loving all the NSVs people are reporting!

They're not quite as spectacular as they look on those Facebook videos! But they are still very very nice and I'm happy I bought them (got 2)

I’ve been on 5mg for a while and feel like I need to increase now. I had awful side effects when I went to 5mg from 2.5mg, so went down to 3.75mg for 4 weeks which was fine.
For those who went from 5mg to 7.5mg, how did you find it? Did anyone increase gradually by counting clicks on a 7.5mg? If so, what dose did you do and how many clicks? I’m just a bit concerned about a 2.5mg increase after last time I did that. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I was fine, no issues at all, 5mg was ropey for the first two weeks for about 3 days after injecting, with the second week much better than the first. But I followed the dosing guidelines, ate clean, and by week 3 I was fine. I’ve now taken 4 x 7.5 , with no negative effects, and start 10 tomorrow.

Pegsmum · 03/01/2025 14:00

@Losingthetimber Thank you, that’s good to know. I would much rather stick to the dosing guidelines but I don’t want a repeat performance! Thanks again.

rockingbird · 03/01/2025 15:23

Slow week here.. houseful of sick people who've I've nursed since Christmas and now I've been hit! All I've done today is sleep.. drink water and have hot lemsip 🤧 not sure I can jab again tomorrow in this state .. we shall see! Lovely to see you all doing so well with such fantastic losses 🙌

Make sure you eat clean, low carb, no sugary stuff , no fat, the day before and days after, plenty of water, no booze. It limits your chances and I’d advocate injecting in your thigh.

Bluenose1966 · 03/01/2025 16:23

2lb loss for me this week making 27lb in 11 weeks,
Will continue taking 3.75mg as getting good suppression without many side effects. Don’t think I could cope with increasing my dose as I have mild nausea despite eating really clean - high protein, low carbs etc on 3.75mg for the first few days.
Age 58 and on HRT.
SW 12-2
CW 10-3
GW 9-7 to 9-10 - though not sure.
Waist was 36” now 32”
Hips were 44” now 40”
Eating high protein. Walking most days and weight training 2/3 times per week as no point me losing the weight if I dont maintain my muscle mass.
Have changed to Oushk, not the cheapest but they have clear maintenance plans and excellent feedback.
My only downside is I feel tired a lot.

I did it slowly, after 7 weeks of 5mg, I decided to do 6mg, then 7.125 mg, today I am going to do 7.5mg then will be the golden dose left. Honestly I wish I hadn't done the 6mg and gone higher up straight away but I didn't know how I'd react, and wasn't great on 2.5mg but was fine on 5mg. I ended up being very hungry on 6mg on my birthday and Xmas week so had to rely on will power, it was so difficult!! Been fine on the 7.125mg but it started wearing off yesterday, just about to eat then jab 7.5mg.

Pegsmum · 03/01/2025 20:29

@Mysticmaiden2024 Thank you, it’s the not knowing isn’t it? Maybe I should just go for it, good luck with 7.5.
