@HansHolbein , have a fab time, I’ve never been to Poland.

im ok with avoiding hotel breakfasts, I’ve never been a big breakfast eater, although when it included in room service I’d quite happily scoff a full English sigh.

it was the evenings for me, dinner, drinks…

letshavetea · 04/02/2025 11:52

@lickycat - thank you. Yes we will get there!
@JustKeepsBreathing - well done! Fantastic loss.
@Losingthetimber - 3 stone is amazing!
@HansHolbein - well done and also enjoy Poland
I’ve just had a fab video consultation with Hira Malik from Oushk (I’ve been with them from the beginning). I decided to ask for one to help me decide whether to go up to 7.5mg and also to talk about my progress. She was so knowledgeable, reassuring and informative. Upshot is I’m going to order another 5mg pen for now. She said it was good I’d had a consultation and logged my current weight and a new photo today as it all helps on the record of progress.

I'm now on 5mg .....still feeling really hungry and with little or no suppression.......frustrated!

How long have you been on it, I assume as Oct starters thread maybe coming up on 4 months? I suspect you’re hungry as you’ve not moved up?

WafflingDreamer · 04/02/2025 12:46

I think the new rules are good, I'm just worry about how much more it's going to end up costing. Not sure how they can do a virtual BMI though as its easy to get people to weigh on a video call but ensuring that people have an accurate height could be a challenge. I don't imagine GPs surgeries are going to be thrilled at people booking an appointment just for a BMI, although perhaps if they were smart they could charge a small fee for it. I imagine what it will mean is eventually you'll only be able to get it through pharmacies that you can attend in person so they do a BMI each time you get a new pen.

zerofucksgivenever · 04/02/2025 12:59

Only week 2 of the 5mg.....so week 6 in total

You may be one of those who need to go higher to get the suppression. When i went from 2.5 to 5 I didnt notice much difference but I had suppression on 2.5mg

Im ok with the new rules as ultimately it wouldn't stop me getting a pen. However I don't want to have to attend a pharmacy in person or go to my GP. That's just a pain in the butt. If anything like that comes into play then hopefully il be at the end of my journey when I have a little stock pile of pens to see me through a year of maintenance.

Losingthetimber · 04/02/2025 13:34

I’m also ok with the new rules, selfishly though, as long as it doesn’t delay me getting my pen, I also don’t want to have to do anything in person or do a video call. I’m happy to give access to my medical records. It’s on there, my doctor monitors me, but I’ve no desire to front up so someone less qualified can look at me and decide just how fat I am. Yikes.

😱

however I do not beleive this should not be listed on people’s medical records and have yet to see a good reason for people saying they don’t want their gp to know to be honest, sorry if there is anyone on here who doesn’t want their gp to know, I am not trying to offend,💐

Ah ok. Dec starter, that thread may help you as folks starting at the same time, but of course welcome on this one too as we were at 6 weeks not long ago :)

it is likely you just need to keep moving up, but there is also 15 percent of people it doesn’t work for. Hard to tell at this stage.

I had a email from Pharmacy 2 U today. Saying they are already complying with the new guidelines coming into place. It was just the same as all the other places iv switched from though so hopefully this means we wont have to go in anywhere.

Hello,

There has been some media coverage today regarding new guidance for online consultations for weight loss medicines.

We wanted to reassure you that Pharmacy2U’s weight loss programmes are compliant with General Pharmaceutical Council guidance (the UK’s regulatory body for pharmacy), and our prescribing service is also regulated by the Care Quality Commission.

If you’re currently taking part in our weight loss programme, your treatment and next consultation will continue as normal so you can confidently and safely continue your weight loss journey, with our team of clinicians.

If you do have any questions, you can use live chat or call our Customer Care team on 0113 265 0222.

Kind regards,
Pharmacy2U Team

I've worked out with the pens I have I should be almost at my goal weight when they run out in May.

I don't know whether to order another 15mg to make sure I hit my goal weight or wait and see.

What are everyone's plans for goal weight? Titrate down or stop cold turkey??

UtterlyQuackers · 04/02/2025 20:15

(Also very exciting to be talking about getting to goal weights!!!)

I have three full 5mg pens to use, ordered whenever I was allowed to as quite near goal weight and wanted to keep my options open! I'm not ordering any more though. 15 weeks should see me through to 7-14lbs loss (tbc depending on arse v face battle Grin) and a bit of maintenance based on my 1.4lbs average loss per week (excluding week 1).
I'm not sure how to optimise usage yet, probably two pens to lose and one to titrate down. My maintenance plan is protein/veg etc with v limited UPFs and wheat/sugar so I don't need to calorie count. Will be running and riding a fair bit and fitting functional weights around that.

@HansHolbein with the 3 stone loss I’ve also seen a reappearance of periods. PCOS here and ever since I started my periods 26 years ago I’ve had one a year, one every 2 years, 2 in 10 months, all kinds of sporadic, no pattern sort of nonsense. I’ve had 3 periods in 3 months, can identify when one is on its way, it’s miraculous. I actually can’t believe it.

That’s amazing and I’m so pleased for you. 🙌🏻 things balancing out 🙌🏻

Losingthetimber · 05/02/2025 06:27

I asked cloud if they expect delays for new orders due to the new guidelines (not existing orders)... Got a generic response…

As you are aware, the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) have recently revised their guidance regarding online pharmacies and prescribing of Mounjaro and Wegovy, due to the risks of supplying this medication inappropriately and putting patients at risk.

Cloud Pharmacy recognises this urgent call for action as we want to ensure all our patients' safety when it comes to taking these weightloss medication. That being said, please rest assured that we will be reviewing our processes to ensure that all prospective improvements can be made to address this.

Additionally, we recognise the significance of these medication to our patients who want to make a change in their lifestyles, assisting in the transition to a healthy life. With the increase in obesity rates in the UK, it’s important to maintain a healthy weight, and prescribed medication alongside a healthy lifestyle can be the perfect way to help you do so. In light of the recent guidance on how to ensure that our patients can receive their medication through enhanced safeguards, we nevertheless recognise the need to accomplish this while ensuring that these may still be accessible to our existing patients as well as those who are looking to undergo this treatment.

At the moment, we are still actively reviewing our prescription processes to ensure that both safety and accessibility are met. That said, please rest assured that we do not have any immediate changes to be made, and no existing orders will be impacted by this guidance. GPhC's guidance will be reviewed thoroughly, and should we come across necessary changes to be made that ensure both safety and accessibility, we will make sure to keep you updated.

Thank you for choosing Cloud Pharmacy, your safe and reliable online pharmacy.

Got the same sort of response from Ousk - they are reviewing the new requirements, more consultation and more regular photos needed, maybe more interaction with GP

rockingbird · 05/02/2025 12:51

Ordered from medexpress so will see if I get the same response - opted to go up to 7.5mg. The new rules will give more control for sure but I'm also concerned it will mean those getting the pens not necessarily meeting the requirements will go underground and that market will be far more of a worry!!

rockingbird · 05/02/2025 13:32

Interestingly ordered, authorised within an hour!

I think it will be like that for a while with existing customers, as they are just reviewing their processes now. So it takes time to do that then implement changes. New users may experience something different more quickly,

Regarding the new rules, I received this from Pharmacy 2 U this week, where I got my first order from in October, and not ordered from since:

I always do my thigh, I just find it easier, and I sit down so it kinda pushes the flesh up, if that makes sense, then pinch and inject into that.

im finding the pens really stiff now though and still have a bruise from two injections ago as I had to push so hard, so considering just using the insulin needle going forward, as it is so much gentler than the pens are now.

I just did the thigh and thought how much it didnt hurt at all and I didnt even feel the needle go in. I had to double check to make sure it was.
The pen i got at the moment doesn't seem stiff. Its a 10mg one.
