Haha @Fizzleaawayy Cant believe one of your life long ambitions isn’t too be hard core gym bunny. My husband got me into weight training and I actually enjoy it now, feel very empowered sauntering around after lifting heavy weights (well heavy to me)😂
Seriously though, you don’t need to go to a gym. To maintain / increase muscle you could do body weight squats and lunges, press ups on your knees etc at home. I bought cheap resistance bands and use them to chest press etc. Loads of free videos on YT to follow.

Will be interesting to see @Losingthetimber the response from your work colleagues re losing weight. People who haven’t seen me for a while just tend to say you are looking well, probably waiting for me to elaborate.

Carridoesntlivehereanymore · 03/02/2025 14:38

@hopeishere My bmi dropped below 30 this morning, too. I'm so happy! Well done!!

Gosh, it must be really hard for those of you with multiple business dinners to get through.

Since we all started sometime in October it's really encouraging reading how well everyone is doing. Some of you are nearly there, some of us still have some way to go. But if you'd asked me back in October if I'd be 2st 9lbs down at the beginning of February, I truly wouldn't have thought it was really possible. So just what might be possible over this Spring??

Fizzleawayyy1 · 03/02/2025 15:27

@Losingthetimber - I love a holiday, I swear its the only reason i work so i can save to go abroad 😂

Really id love a job that had travel to the USA or Japan, I love the national parks over there and their caramel M&Ms but I doubt il ever find one of those. 😂

Its defo visible but like you say I think people are polite! and no one in my team would really comment. My manager is a bigger women so she doesn't tend to every comment on anyone's weight.

I hope your office visit goes well!

@Bluenose1966 Shocking isn't it! Maybe one day il enjoy it but today or 2025 is not that day or year!
Everyone is doing do well. Over spring we will all be that little bit smaller too!

Losingthetimber · 03/02/2025 16:09

@Carridoesntlivehereanymore congrats! 💫

@Fizzleaawayy , my manager is a man and the worst of the lot. But he means well. Last time, and it was only a stone , but more visible as starting point was Lower, he marched up and said ‘bloody hell you’ve lost weight, you look fantastic! ‘ sadly from that point on I got steadily fatter.

everyone I see comments on it , I’m half expecting the postie to comment next. 😂 so it’s weird to me others don’t get that. Clearly my lot lack manners.

HappyNewt · 03/02/2025 16:33

Did a quick double check weigh today and, yes, definitely just below 30 BMI. Pleased to be sure that I have hit that marker!

Tidied a bit at the weekend and found some half used body lotions and 2 body brushes so I'm taking that as a hint to start using them in the hope that we may get a summer this year and I might, for the first time in some years, actually want to wear things other than my magic trousers and long sleeves!!!

Well done everyone.

Carridoesntlivehereanymore · 03/02/2025 09:05

Woohoo! My bmi is 29.7 this morning and I am officially overweight for the first time since around the end of 2019!! It has taken 17 weeks. I'm 2st 9lbs down!! Happy dance!

I'm on 5mg still which seems to be suiting me for a slow but steady loss. I'm thinking of moving to Oushk imminently, to be with them long before I may, or may not, need maintenance. What are all your thoughts on this?

I swapped to Oushk a couple of weeks ago (for the same reason) and I was worried they might not take me on so close to my target weight but there wasn't a problem )had to send a photo and proof of my previous prescriptions), they were very responsive and quick with delivery. Can only recommend 👍

Amen to that 🙌🏻

lapuf · 03/02/2025 19:25

Well done on the BMIs in the 20s 👏 such great progress!
We should do a summing up of how much weight we've lost collectively at some point!
NSV here, my apple watch has gone down a a hole! Just as well as I'm up 1.5lbs from Saturday so back in the tens and a bit grumpy on official weigh day Angry

HansHolbein · 03/02/2025 19:49

Wowee so much to catch up on!

Being able to finally cross my legs is probably my top NSV Grin

@Losingthetimber Another 2lb down, well done!

@TwinklesToes Amazing progress. It feels amazing to just be overweight!

@Bluenose1966 Fab! Not long to go for you now.

@lapuf God, me too! I had 3 small and I mean small glasses of Prosecco at the weekend and felt like dog shit the next day.

@NearlyNewHip You’re in onederland!!!

@EVK Keep going, not long now. Lucky you, I’m jealous!

@TheChosenTwo 3st 😮 well done!

@recklessgran Happy Stone gran! Hope your new grandbaby is doing well.

@igivein You’re doing great.

@Fizzleawayyy1 Good to see you back and well done on the 3lbs! Love weeks like that.

@hopeishere fuck yeah!!!

@Carridoesntlivehereanymore Overweight! We need medals I think 🥇

It’s been so nice to read everyone’s updates. Motivating and inspiring.

Couple of updates from me…

Lost 4.4lbs this week.

5’5 PCOS
SW 16st 2.7lb/102.8kg BMI 37.7
CW 12st 9.3lb/80.4kg BMI 29.5
Lost 3st 7lb/20.2kg/49lbs

Feeling amazing. Looking great. PCOS has pretty much fucked off. Everyone has noticed. Thank the Lord for MJ.

I also moved to Cloud for maintenance because Asda cut you off at BMI 25. Very thorough consultation form. Approved late Sunday night and arrived on the Tuesday morning. I’m up to 10mg now. Injected into my thigh… no problems or side effects.

I can’t believe this is my life now. I’m free!!!

RunSlowTalkFast · 03/02/2025 19:49

@Fizzleaawayy I THINK I'm getting a bit more suppression on 10mg but then I'm pretty sure I've thought the same every time I move up a dose and then it fades.

BUT If I've lost 10lbs in 4 months that averages just over half a pound a week and before that I had been maintaining for months so I guess it's had some effect? Plus as I'd already lost 2 stone I didn't have that initial whoosh of new diet motivation + placebo = big loss that a lot of people had!

Only planning to do 3 more pens max as need the money for something else eventually so I guess I'll just see what happens.

EVK · 03/02/2025 20:13

@HansHolbein how do you manage to respond to everyone the way you do ? I always want to but would need to make notes as I read!🤣 So happy to hear of your great loss this week - brilliant - I’ve never lost more than 2lbs in a week- and the disappearance of PCOS - how wonderful.

Losingthetimber · 03/02/2025 20:33

@HansHolbein , whoop on the loss and the pcos saying bye bye!

@Fizzleaawayy , once you see the results in the gym it motivates, honestly my limbs have definition now, my stomach still needs work, but I’m a easy size 12 at the moment, at 5 ft 7, at knocking on 12 stone, which shows it has an impact, plus it becomes routine, not scary,

TheChosenTwo · 03/02/2025 21:50

@HansHolbein with the 3 stone loss I’ve also seen a reappearance of periods. PCOS here and ever since I started my periods 26 years ago I’ve had one a year, one every 2 years, 2 in 10 months, all kinds of sporadic, no pattern sort of nonsense. I’ve had 3 periods in 3 months, can identify when one is on its way, it’s miraculous. I actually can’t believe it.

lickycat · 03/02/2025 22:35

HappyNewt · 02/02/2025 11:24

So, after having a plateau for my third pen (I stayed on 5mg as I had been losing nicely and I didn't want to risk any new side effects over Christmas) and also staying the same weight at the start of stepping up to 7.5mg, I have now started to drop again slowly! So, its looking like I may be back on track. If you are stuck then it does ''start working'' again! I am exercising consistently, which I am sure is helping now and also going to be key for maintaining once I do get down to a healthy weight.

Pleased today to have crept below 'obese' and into 'overweight' BMI, so chuffed to hit that marker, mind you, after the good start that had, I had hoped to/thought I might have done that about 6 weeks ago!!

Going to order up to 10mg for next pen.

Great offer of 30% off for new customers showing up today on monj.co.uk which makes them cheapest for all pens from 5mg upwards. I have been with them since my second jab and got slightly excited when I saw the price today, but I only qualify for their other offer.

Thanks again for everyone's posts. It is all very helpful.

Your first paragraph describes my experience exactly. I kick myself for staying on the 5, because it’s meant a period of about 6 weeks of staying roughly the same. Only this last week, now I’m up to the 7.5 have I started losing again. I’ve already ordered a 10 for the next one.

lickycat · 03/02/2025 22:44

letshavetea · 03/02/2025 06:23

Good to hear all the updates. @recklessgran - congratulations that’s fab news! @Losingthetimber - wow - you can really see the difference. I think I should take some pics too.
I took dose 19 (5mg) yesterday. Disappointed with weigh in today as I’ve gone up a pound to 11 stone 13.5 pounds. So disheartening and not quite sure what to do. I’ve stayed on 5mg as even with this dose I have nausea, heartburn and constipation on occasions. I still have suppression but can now finish a meal. Total loss since October is now only 10 pounds.
This is a very expensive way of losing not a lot!

I’m also a slow loser. I was losing about 1lb a week on average, before my 5/6 weeks of scales not moving very much. So after 16 jabs I’m not quite at a stone yet.

it’s so easy to be disheartened, but for many years I was completely unsuccessful in all of my attempts to lose weight. Not only was I not losing weight, I was putting weight on year by year. And now I’m trying not to lose sight of the fact that I’m losing, for the first time in a decade or more. We’ll get there.

JustKeepsBreathing · 03/02/2025 23:06

Wow so many success stories 🤩

Weekly weigh-in. Lost another 1 lb. Think I’m going to bite the bullet next week and increase my dose. And will order 7.5 mg for my next pen. But for today I took another 5 mg for my 17th dose.

Total weight loss is now 2 stone and 11 lbs.
SW 15 stone 1 lb
CW 12 stone 4 lbs
GW 10 stone 3 lbs

I’m considering ordering from a company that supports maintenance - thinking of Oushk. Any other suggestions?

Losingthetimber · 04/02/2025 06:59

Well cheeky weigh in this morning and I was 11.12.4

i started at 14.12.5 on 12th Oct when i started. So I have hit the 3 stone, whoop!

And as said I was 15.7 about 3 weeks or so before and lost that first half stone on my own.

next mini goal is 11.5. Which is healthy weight bmi. Can’t believe I’m only half a stone away from a healthy weight. And 5 pounds off a total loss of 4 stone.

my husband, daughter, gp and best friend know how much I’ve lost, but everyone else I say it’s about two stone if they ask (and they do), as I’m just so embarassed about how fat I was I can’t bring myself to admit anything close to the numbers, Even though they could see me.😳

Losingthetimber · 04/02/2025 08:01

I’m really glad I told my gp and it’s listed on my meds, so hopefully it is easy to reorder, I suspect this needs to be a slow roll out, it will be first up any one who said no to telling their gp and new patients, and I suspect they may ask for access to medical records at reordering, as the video calls will require additional staff. Anyone who says no to gp will be rejected.

Fizzleawayyy1 · 04/02/2025 09:40

Losingthetimber · 04/02/2025 07:14

Has everyone seen the new rules coming in? My doctor knows and it’s listed on my medication, so hopefully that makes it simple to reorder.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/people-patients-bmi-nhs-advertising-standards-authority-b2691585.html

The first pen I got they already asked me to video myself stepping on the scales and then to go to a mirror and show myself.
None of the others have and i switched supplier last week and I will probably switch again.
IQ doc sent a notification to my GP every time i ordered a pen which I'm happy with so it shouldn't be too hard for them to see I already take it. To be honest I dont have anything to worry about as I'm fat enough to get them ha ha

@JustKeepsBreathing well done on the 1lb off!

@HansHolbein what a super post you wrote there! i try my best and I really try to reply to people so no one feels ignored but its hard work when theres so many posts sometimes 😅Brill weight lose this week too and im glad the PCOS is exiting the building!

@HappyNewt I am on a buying ban (self imposed) of all things skin care, body care and make up til I use some of mine up! I used to use it allll the time but when I gained the weight I let myself go a bit and since iv been losing weight Im making a effort to use it all again and look after myself more! Use those body butters up!

@RunSlowTalkFast Glad it seems to be working a little bit more, I do think the initial diet excitement helps massively!
I always wonder how long I will stay on these for.... I cant see myself being at goal weight until at least July as I have at least another 3 stone to lose so another 5 pens at least but also I think I would like to use them for Maintenance (Using a low dose to take the edge off of the food noise). I do think all this money I'm spending can be used towards something useful but ultimately If i wasn't on this now id just be spending it on junk food probably!

Losingthetimber · 04/02/2025 09:46

I just read on another thread it is not in yet, but maybe in future, so seems pharmacies being given time.

HansHolbein · 04/02/2025 10:02

@EVK I open two tabs… I read one tab and reply on the other and then press send. It takes some practice Grin Thank you x

@Losingthetimber Thank you so much. So pleased to hopefully see the back of the ghastly thing. I’ve lost weight before and got to this size but still had PCOS. MJ must be doing something else. In time I am sure there will be some studies on it. 3st! So happy for you. So happy for all of us.

WRT the new rules.. I’m sorry to say but I agree with it, although it is a shame that it may affect access for genuine users. I’m sure it will cause price rises and delays which is annoying but when you read posts in this section asking if they can get it with a BMI of 24, asking if they can put weights in their pockets (WTF), don’t want to send photos, don’t want GP to know, can I buy it from my uncles girlfriends pet goldfish…well, it was always going to come to this.

I have nothing to hide or lie about so I am not concerned about not getting it but I do worry for the genuine people who may not be able to afford it if the price goes up too much.

I’m going to Poland tomorrow with my son and some family for a few days so this will be my first real experience around food and alcohol. My MIL knows I’m taking MJ but my SIL doesn’t. I’ll probably tell her if she asks why I’ve lost weight. She would be a perfect candidate for MJ.

Usually I would stuff my face at a hotel breakfast so it will be interesting. Maybe just some fruit and a cup of tea. I’m also a terrible flyer and I don’t want to shit my pants. I hate flying so much.

AnneinEdinburgh · 04/02/2025 10:27

@HansHolbein Have a lovely trip and hope double bagging for the flight isn't needed!!!

Fizzleawayyy1 · 04/02/2025 10:46

@HansHolbein Have a lovely time in poland! I love a hotel breakfast and its really hard (even now) to get out of that mentality of 'I need to get my monies worth'.
