@flowerlady2. For mls for any dose the formula is:
Target dose / Pen strength * 0.6ml = Required mls
So if you intend to take the whole doses you suggested by insulin syringe -
8.5/ 7.5* 0.6 =0.68mls
9 / 7.5* 0.6 = 0.77mls
(Obviously check my maths just in case I have made an error.)

Weekly official weigh in yesterday and another 2lb off. Was considering reducing to 3.75mg as suppression so high but stayed on 5mg as suppression reduced as week went on.
Not sure if my weight loss has been a steady 2lb a week lately despite being quite close to goal, as am eating at least 120g protein a day, mostly by eating chicken, steak, salmon, eggs, cottage cheese as well as a low sugar protein bar and beef isolate protein shake. Eating so much protein is really filling it has more or less stopped my cravings. No doubt I will now have a plateau for several weeks!!!
I have always done a bit of weight training but am following more structured programme as conscious of my saggy elephant skin like derriere😂Well saggy everything thinking about it🙄
Though main thing is I look good in clothes and joint aches have gone so can live with it.
Week 14 weigh in.
Age 58 and on HRT.
SW 12-2
CW 9-12
GW 9-7 - though still not sure.

Joe wicks body coach app or on YouTube free videos will tone up your bum with all the squats and other targeted moves. I did it 6 weeks before mounjaro and went from a flatter bum to a peachy toned one!

lapuf · 25/01/2025 13:02

Weighed in this morning and was sub 25 bmi for the first time since November 2021 Grin that's 24.5lbs down since October, 15% body weight. 8-15lbs to go depending how I look/feel

TheChosenTwo · 25/01/2025 18:01

2.5lbs down today, 41lbs gone. Feel so much lighter and healthier. Sticking with 7.5mg again for my 4th pen, similar to a pp I’ve had a bit of light headedness this month, suppression has been fairly strong and I’ve had a job eating much some days. Does ease up towards the end of the week but I don’t want to move up again yet.

flowerlady2 · 25/01/2025 19:14

@Bluenose1966 Great, many thanks, I shall try that for the next 2 weeks. And well done on your weight loss too. You’re so close to your goal!

EVK · 25/01/2025 22:18

Hi All,
My jab day today. I’ve lost 1 1/2 lbs, and I’m now 9.3 1/2 (SW was 11.7 pre- MJ and 11.4 when I started) so I’m definitely 2 stone down now - it’s been slow and steady on the whole with a couple of plateaus) I started on October 5th so this is week 15 for me. I was on 5mgs last week (first time) and I did feel fatigue, nausea and a lot of suppression so I did 50 clicks today which is approximately 4mgs - hoping that will make things a little easier this week. Only about 5k a to go!!! So, happy to take it easy.

Oushk approved me last week (had to send proof of my order history and photos) so I’m no longer with ASDA- managed to get 30% off with a code (can’t remember what it was - sorry but I just goggled codes) Should have done it ages ago! Don’t know why I was worried as they approved me no problem. Even though I’m now a healthy BMI.
Now I’m with them I will be able to access their tapering and maintenance schemes. I think 1 more 5mg pen and then I start tapering before going it alone with the scheme that lets you start again if you need to.

Great losses everyone 🙌🏻 happy weekend

igivein · 26/01/2025 10:04

Weigh-in day again

SW: 20st 2lbs
CW: 16st 6lbs

2lbs down this week, but it’s felt like a struggle and I’ve fallen off the wagon a couple of times. I had been taking 6.0 out of a 7.5 pen, I’ve gone up to 55 clicks this week which is 6.9ish so hope that will help. I’ve been moving up gradually to avoid side effects, which has worked well so far, but I’m not averse to pushing the dose up to 7.5 next week if I feel the need, but then do I order another 7.5 or do I need a 10?
On a positive note though, that’s 52lbs in total - flipping heck! 🥳🥳🥳

Bluenose1966 · 26/01/2025 11:03

Great weight loss @igivein It’s so fantastic to see such brilliant weight losses for everyone.
i would order the 10mg pen as won’t be much difference in price. At least then you are keeping your options open to increase the dose if required.
My tummy isn’t great and I am still getting very mild nausea on 5mg but have still ordered the next dose up as think it was the exact same price.

I am staying with Oushk now and have my maintenance consultation next month so will be interesting to see the options. Hoping for maybe month on month off strategy.

femininomenon · 26/01/2025 13:50

Hello all!

I NC'd and then have fallen off the thread since new year as work has just been manic (work in tax so January is hell) but just caught up and it's great to see everyone is still doing so well!

I started 6th October so no idea what week weigh in this is but I have now officially lost 10% of my body weight
SW: 17st 4
CW: 15st 8

I do sometimes feel a bit disheartened as it's been a slower journey than others (especially my DP who started a month after me and is close to a 3st loss) but quickly get out of my funk when I realise I am now the lightest I've been in over 3 years.

I've been in a bit of a tizz this week as I've been worried I was going to have to stop but it turns out the problem I had been having was easily solved...I'll tell the tale just in case anyone else finds themselves in the same situation!
Since the start of December when I moved up to 7.5mg I've been having intermittent sharp pains under my right boob and round the side of my ribs. It took me quite a few weeks to even associate it the with MJ as like I say it was infrequent and quite bearable, when I realised it was possibly due to the jabs I did a bit of googling and couldn't find much so decided not to worry about it too much. Except the last couple of weeks it's really ramped up (to the point I didn't move up to 10mg as planned last week). Well earlier in the week I decided to google where the pancreas is and that sent me into panic mode as it's where I have been feeling a lot of the pains. I knew I would have to just bite the bullet and message my prescriber but was putting it off as I was so worried they would tell me I needed to stop, when on Friday night I was struggling to sleep as it was so bad. Decided I would message them when I got up in the morning but during some frantic googling at 4am I discovered it might actually be trapped wind and peppermint oil capsules could help. So off I went to H&B for opening time yesterday, popped one of these capsules and a few hefty burps later I am a new woman! Absolutely no pain for the last 24 hours, and I can't believe that after panicking so much it was something so simple Grin So the moral of the story is you can feel trapped wind really high up under your ribs.

I am feeling so much better so I have gone up to 10mg this morning and crossing my fingers for no bad side effects.

HansHolbein · 26/01/2025 14:30

@igivein Amazing! When you have a lot to lose it feels like you will never get there but with Mounjaro everything feels possible again. 52lbs is crazy good! Happy for you.

@femininomenon Welcome back and thanks for the update! Glad you got it all sorted.. I can quite imagine the panic! Let us know how 10 goes.

Losingthetimber · 26/01/2025 15:26

@femininomenon , love your name, and congrats, that is a huge loss! Hopefully you feel good about it, apart from the wind,,😃

HansHolbein · 26/01/2025 16:40

Whilst I’m here… my BMI is now 30.1 so I thought it was time to move to a pharmacy that does maintenance. I went with Cloud as they sent me the most reassuring email. Cheaper than Asda, too.

rockingbird · 26/01/2025 16:46

Morning all, week 13 complete! Still on 5mg.

SW: 11.13
CW: 9.3 (2lbs down) total loss 2st 10lbs
GW: 8.10-9st

So onto week 14 and sticking with 5mg. The weight loss seems slow and steady now. Considering going up to 7.5mg for my next pen order this week.. so I can reduce it down when I’m at goal weight. Might be tempting fate here but if it’s too much I can at least lower it down again

I am feeling far more confident overall and people are starting to notice that I’m much thinner. I also feel like I’ve got more energy and more mobile of that makes sense. I treated myself to some new gym clothes this week and had to take them all back as they were all too big. My mind still hasn’t caught up with the weight loss! Had all my hair chopped off yesterday and highlighted-I feel like a changed women 😆

femininomenon · 26/01/2025 22:27

Well this mornings update was too good to be true because by god I am feeling the 10mg tonight!

Has anyone got any tips for awful nausea especially when trying to sleep? This is the first time I've really experienced it.

EVK · 26/01/2025 22:30

What lovely news @rockingbird - I’m exactly the same weight as you and looking to hit the same GW. @femininomenon so glad you’re pains weren’t serious! I remember having horrendous trapped wind under my ribs and even up to collar bone area once following an operation- it was excruciating! Worse than post operative pain -
much! I’ve just booked a
summer holiday and I’m so excited about going away k owing my weight/size won’t spoil it for me. No feeling awful walking aling
the beach!!
I do need to her to the gym and start doing more resistance exercises!

Here’s to another great week everyone 😊

Has anyone else experienced dizziness / fatigue / feeling faint after increasing doses? I’ve been on 2.5mg since early Oct 24 and had no side effects and was really pleased with steady weight loss so stayed on low dose for as long as poss. But suppression started to dwindle so I increased to 5mg and this week I’ve felt exhausted and dizzy everyday. Had to leave work early today as felt like I could faint. Wondering whether it is low blood sugar or perhaps low blood pressure. Might need to go back down to 2.5mg, just worried suppression may no longer be as effective.

I had this when I first tried 5 mg. I dropped back to 2.5 and moved up much slower. I can’t remember exactly how slowly I did it but if you search my name in these threads, I’ve posted every week. I’m now back on 5 mg and doing fine with none of the dizziness, vomiting, feeling faint. And I’m still losing.
hooe this works for you x

@femininomenon
I've had this happen to me, normally the first week I go up a dose. Just drink water and if you can stomach it peppermint tea. I drink the fruit electrolytes in a bottle of water when I'm feeling out of salts, that definitely helps! Hope you feel better soon xx

letshavetea · 27/01/2025 06:33

Hi all, well I’ve finally managed to lose a pound this week bringing my total loss to 11 lbs. I’ve just taken dose 18 (5mg). So I’m a very slow loser. Only 3 pounds away to a stone loss. Which at my rate will take ages!
SW 12.9.5 st
CW 11.12.5 st
GW 10.5 st
Monitor my weight (app) is telling me that my average loss is 0.65 pounds per week over 17 weeks.

femininomenon · 27/01/2025 06:48

@rockingbird thank you, I'm still feeling peaky this morning so an electrolyte tablet is a great idea.

Yay, 1 lb beats your average. Your slow weight loss will be beneficial in many ways so although frustrating (and more expensive!) it’s happening and hopefully will be sustainable over time. They do say it’s good to lose it slowly. You’ll be at the 1 stone mark soon - just keep going 🙌🏻
@femininomenon i really hope today will
see the awful nausea ease off - try and eat tiny amounts to keep blood sugar levels at a reasonable place. It may help with the nausea too.

letshavetea · 27/01/2025 07:21

@EVK thanks very much! I do feel more motivated now and will definitely just keep going for however long it takes. Tracking weight loss on an app has been hugely helpful to see that there isn’t really a pattern (up, down, stay the same etc) but the general trend is downwards over (a long) time!
@femininomenon - sorry to hear you’re feeling poorly. When I’ve had nausea I’ve found having water and small amounts of plain food.

Losingthetimber · 27/01/2025 08:31

@femininomenon , try ginger tablets or sweets, you can get them from Amazon, also make sure you eat, I know it’s hard, but it does help the nausea, and try glucose tablets if you feel dizzy. Again you can get on Amazon or in most supermarkets.

recklessgran · 27/01/2025 10:20

@letshavetea I really feel your pain. I read along to keep up with everyone in our cohort but don't post often as losses are so tiny here! Like you, I am also a ridiculously slow loser despite following all the rules very strictly regarding diet/water and admittedly exercise to a lesser degree. I guess I'm disadvantaged a little due to my age [68] and being on levo for underactive thyroid. I'm currently on 12lbs total loss since I started on 18th October. I am really struggling with side effects that floor me whenever I try to increase my dose. I'm currently on 3.25mgs which I injected last night so we'll see how that goes this week.
Last week I tried braving it by jumping from 3.00mgs [not much suppression at all] to 3.75mgs but was so sick I spent 2 days in bed throwing up - couldn't even keep sips of water down hence why last night I decided on 3.25mgs. So far, so good. I'm hoping I lose something this week and if all continues to go well I'll try 3.5mgs next Sunday.
Start weight 15st 7lbs
Current weight 14st 9lbs
Today's meal plan;
Lunch - prawn cocktail
Dinner - Sirloin steak and stir fry veg

letshavetea · 27/01/2025 10:49

@recklessgran thank you. Yes, we are in the same boat. I’m 69 and hypothyroid. I’ve also been v careful with going up the doses, but I know you’ve suffered badly with side effects. Although I’ve had nausea, heartburn and constipation I’ve been able to manage it with going up slowly through doses plus being careful with what I eat and water +++ My current dose is 5mg. I have a 7.5 mg pen in the fridge but will stay on 5mg from that pen if I’ve still got suppression. If not I’ll use it to titrate up gradually.
We will get there!

MissSmith80 · 27/01/2025 11:23

Morning everyone, great to read updates and thanks @femininomenon, I'd panic with that kind of symptom so will keep it in mind.

A 2lb loss for me today, still on 5mg. I've lost just short of 2.5 st and so 0.5 st to go I think. My weight now starts with a 10 again - first time in 7 years I think.

My only problem is that I feel exhausted so I just can't muster the energy to exercise like I was. I have had a bad cold for the past week or so, so not sure if it's that or the MJ. I feel like I'm getting so close to goal weight, I might need to taper soon and try to do the last half a stone on 2.5mg if the fatigue persists.

The 2lb loss has given me a little boost though so think I'll use the bonus dose at 5mg today and see what happens in the next week. I've got 2 pens in the fridge (both 5) so can easily use them to taper if I need to.

I was, until Christmas, pretty sure I'd have to stay on MJ for a long time but if the tiredness is related, I'm going to have to come off. I've also had some loose bowels this week despite being pretty careful with what I eat so am wondering if my side effect profile is due to the build up of the drug. Or it might all be winter bug related.

Sorry for the rambling but it's lovely to have somewhere to 'get it all out' xx

Afternoon all

W15 D1
SW 17'10
CW 16'6

I am repeating my 7.5mg dose as I was away for 2 weeks and I decided not to go up. I jabbed on the day before I left to go away, and was generally happy with 2 meals a day on a 2 week holiday, and didn't really crave snacks/sweets etc very much and felt full after a reasonable amount of food and drink.

I definitely was not the food and drink monster I usually am when I am holiday - my record is putting on a whole stone on a weeks AI!!

This fortnight holiday I have weighed in at an impressive 2 pounds gained for the holiday, and we had a chippy tea last night before I started jabbing again today!

As it was nearly 2 months since my last order, because I ordered my last months supply at the end of November to ensure a full set of doses before going away, I stayed with the same supplier (IQ Doctor) so that I didn't have the rigmarole of ordering after a break with a new supplier.

They did query the gap between orders, and I will confess that I did add a week onto the real date of my last jab to avoid having to start over again (They thought I had a gap of 2 weeks from last jab to re-order, when it was actually 3 - I know, I know!) so was able to carry on with them with the 7.5, using a 20% discount code from monj.co.uk.

No significant side effects as yet, and I defiantly could feel suppression while away, and even dinner last night I was not able to finish, so almost 3 weeks after my last jab it was still working.
