@TheChosenTwo you're doing so well!

I've done 8 wks @ 2.5mg, 5 @ 3.75mg and now 2 @ 5mg.

I'm wearing lots of warm cardigans and scarves and I'm sort of hoping most people didn't really think too much about the before me and just accept the lesser me when the heavier clothes go. And then I can start talking about trying to lose some weight before my daughter gets married but I'll already be on my way. Or maybe I'll lose another few pounds which tips me over the edge and suddenly absolutely everyone notices!!

Can I see much change? Not much but I just see the fatty lumpy bits. But I have had to go down a size in a denim skirt, I've got a few thing in my wardrobe that do now fit that didn't even go on before and I've just ordered a couple of smaller bras! Trying to focus on the overall losses and changes and not on the less good weeks

UtterlyQuackers · 20/01/2025 17:44

@terracottacountryfarm I am absolutely freezing going to bed with a hot herbal tea and hot water bottle!! I REALLY want a heated throw!

lapuf · 20/01/2025 19:24

I finally caved and bought myself a heated throw! I covet DH's so much Blush

HansHolbein · 20/01/2025 21:36

@terracottacountryfarms Yes I am freeeeeeeeeeeezing! It’s been my only real side effect. Which I am grateful for and it is manageable. I’ve never worn my uggs so much. In the past I wouldn’t dare wear them out of the house but I have been!

So nice to read everyone’s updates. Life changing stuff, isn’t it? I feel the best I’ve felt in about 10 years. I’m so bloody thankful for Mounjaro. Finally I have realised that none of this is my fault. Since the age of 11 I thought it was something I had done wrong. The amount of shame I have felt. But all along it wasn’t my fault and nothing is wrong with me.

Anyway, stats for this week.

Lost 3.7lb

5’5 PCOS
SW: 16st 2.7lb/2267lbs/102.8kg BMI 37.7
CW: 13st 0.5lb/182.5lbs/82.7kg BMI 30.4
Total loss: 3st 2.2lb/44.2lb/20kg

I can’t bloody believe I’m nearly in the overweight category. It’s probably been about 10 years since that last happened.

Anyway, it got me thinking about maintenance. I messaged Oushk, Cloud and Pharmulous about maintenance and got good replies. I’ll be sad to leave Asda because I really like to collect but they don’t offer maintenance whatsoever and cut you off at BMI 25! Not sure why as that’s still overweight..

I will have to stay on Mounjaro long term for my PCOS but I’m fine with that. Mounjaro till I die! Night night x

Mrsmajeeka · 20/01/2025 22:21

@willieversleep hi, I had pretty much the same on my 12, 13 & 14 doses, had been on 2.5 no problem and then started to increase to 3.75 and had terrible d&v, this fell over Xmas and new yrs and I was bed bound. I’ve had two weeks off, 34lb down and went back to 2.5 today, jabbed in thigh instead of stomach and so far so good today. The weeks I was ill I started with the sulphur burps within 6/7 hours of jabbing and then D and finished the night throwing up. So by now that would have all happened. Fingers crossed I don’t get a wake up call with it tonight! Perhaps try a couple of weeks off, this is what MedExpress advised me to do.

Hello! Checking in again as I've not had much loss recently and need to come back here to keep focused.

I've lost 2 stone since 17/10/24. This seems slow in comparison to others but I'm happy with it and know that I need to dump alcohol and start walking more.

Delighted for everyone's loses.
I love mounjaroiooooo!

EVK · 21/01/2025 07:49

@ArtfullyCrumpled I think 2 stone since October is amazing ! That’s what I’ve lost 🤣 slow and steady, nothing wrong with that. Not drinking alcohol (which feels great) has made a huge difference to me because whenever I drink I end up binge eating rubbish! Give it a whirl - you don’t have to give it up but maybe change how and when? Walking is also great exercise, throw in some hills and do a fast pace and you’re well away. I had a plateau for about 3 weeks and then things started shifting again - hang in there. It will happpen - just keep going.

Missreginafalange · 21/01/2025 08:13

Morning all, weighed in today and lost 2 pounds so now at 30 pound lost in 13 weeks. Which is great as have been in a plateau for the last 3 weeks. Got one more week at 5mg and then going up to 7,5mg next week.

Also when I hit a plateau before another diets I would have got despondent and given up, mounjaro has just helped me crack on and keep going.

ArtfullyCrumpled · 21/01/2025 10:08

Thank you @EVK. I needed to hear this. Hi you are absolutely spot on. Especially with throwing in some hills! I can do this!

MissSmith80 · 21/01/2025 10:10

Morning all.

Weighed this morning and lost just 1lb, I've got a little under a stone to go (having lost 2 st 4 since October) so I'm okay with that - the last 10lbs or so is bound to take a while. I increased my calories this week to try to figure out what a maintenance day might look like for me and. Also added exercise (weights) in properly last week and it did make me more hungry - important to fuel my body properly for that especially the protein so it felt like a positive or lose a bit despite those things.

I need to increase my water this week, I've got a cold and all of the coughing/runny nose has made my mouth so dry, it's made me realise how poor I am at drinking water usually.

Had a NSV this week. Bought a new dress (size 12 - was a 14), for a special event next month. When I opened the packaging (online order) it looked tiny. I was gutted - beautiful dress but it was going to be way too small for me. But nope, fits like a glove, I couldn't stop smiling as I did the zip up effortlessly. I was also aware of how much better it looked because of my improved posture/how I was holding myself - confidence really does make such a difference.

Great to read everyone's updates xx

ArtfullyCrumpled · 21/01/2025 16:10

Congratulations @TwinklesToes that is a great achievement.

lapuf · 21/01/2025 17:17

Ah brilliant @TwinklesToes Grin best NSV!

lapuf · 21/01/2025 19:39

I've just ordered my final 5mg pen, I have a small stockpile but wanted to order it sooner as I'm approaching normal bmi and wanted to ensure med express didn't cut me off Grin
17 jabs to go at 5mg each or maybe one more than that if I titrate down on the last pen.
I'm currently at 10st 2 and aiming for 9-9.7 as my target range, happy at 9.7 but know I need a bit of contingency.
I've also upped my reading and research, I have the glucose goddess book and the gut health dr one. Hopefully my good habits from those and Andrew Jenkinson's two will help me in going it alone in a couple of months

SageInspo · 21/01/2025 20:12

I hope you don't mind me hopping on 😊

I started taking Mounjaro in the last week of September. I did a month of 2.5mg before moving up to 5mg.

5mg was absolutely horrific. The heartburn was relentless and I was vomiting multiple times a day, 4 days a week but I stuck at it for the month.

I went back down to the 2.5mg and was completely fine again. I was afraid that I wouldn't lose any more weight but I'm steadily still losing between 1 to 1.5 lbs a week!

It's going to be a slow journey, but I've lost 34lbs so far. If my weight loss plateaus then I'll try the 5mg, but for now, I'm happy with the 2.5mg.

I've started some gentle exercising this week (just dance) and I'm hoping this helps along the way 😊

MissSmith80 · 21/01/2025 20:38

Fantastic @TwinklesToes

Bluenose1966 · 21/01/2025 21:00

@TwinklesToes Just goes to show how fantastic MJ is and not just for weight loss. You must be absolutely thrilled. My DIL is trying to persuade her diabetic mum to go on MJ so I am going to tell her about you.

Welcome @SageInspo and fantastic weight loss. I did a couple of months at 2.5mg, then only increased to 3.75mg as doubling the dose seemed excessive as I still had nausea on 2.5mg.
If you are losing weight and tolerating dose then I would carry on or consider increasing more gradually to 3.75mg first.

Good luck@lapuf . You will have to keep us updated of your progress. I am thinking of going a bit under for contingency as well to just over 9 stone. From everything I have read/ watched one of the main things in reducing any weight gain is strength training. Plus high protein/ fibre. I am currently having 120g protein and am so full with it, can’t even be bothered to have odd chocolate. Think I am going to have a few months stockpile then do the Oushk flex to hedge my bets.

coastergirl · 22/01/2025 14:09

Hello, I've been around since the start and posted occasionally, but just can't keep up!

I've just moved up to 10mg and have lost 32lbs so far. Plenty still to go, but my BMI has just dropped into the overweight category, and I'm definitely seeing a difference in my clothes. Hadn't done any exercise until now, but I've just started. Found a beginners 20 minute pilates thing on YouTube which I like, pushes me just enough for now, and going walking.

I remember lots of talk about collagen at the start, and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend one? Keen to avoid loose skin if at all possible.

zerofucksgivenever · 22/01/2025 14:11

Did anyone find the "food noise" not reduce until they were on a slightly higher dose?

rockingbird · 22/01/2025 14:16

@coastergirl I purchased mine from amazing and have it ever morning in my coffee. Totally tasteless and seems to be helping. I also have the Biotin tablets for hair growth as I was so worried about losing my hair!! 🙈 fortunately so far I've managed to keep the little bit I do have.

Amazon that should say 🤣

Rocking bird, that’s bovine collagen, marine collagen is best for skin elasticity.

Anyone heard from @Fizzleaawayy ? I have checked the thread but can’t see. Hope she’s ok.
