12 weeks done, 38lbs down and never felt better. Had a lot to lose and still reckon I could lose another 2 stone before thinking more carefully about what my target is.
dropped a dress size, sometimes even my 14s feel like they’re a bit oversized but everything is comfortable and it’s been lovely treating myself to new things and being able to fit into what I choose rather than what I was doing before, choosing things I knew would just cover as much of me as possible!

Losingthetimber · 18/01/2025 12:48

Well done everyone !

@AnneinEdinburgh , absolutely so many of us had medical issues causing weight gain, the nhs just couldn’t fix so wouldn’t accwpt or acknowledge as the cause , be it metabolic disease, insulin resistance, all the way through to pcos and beyond. So it was well just try harder. Don’t you know what to eat. Sigh.

lickycat · 18/01/2025 14:13

15th jab today (I think). I was supposed to go up to 7.5 last week, but I’m so loathe to waste money. Lost nothing last week (again) and had a good talking to myself about how it was an even bigger waste of money to keep on the 5 when it’s not enough anymore. Then when it came to it today, I just HAD to have a look at how much was left in the bonus dose, and it was exactly 6.25. So I decided to try that and start the 7.5 next week. I might regret it by Tuesday/Wednesday if it wears off, but I was arguing to myself that a) that’s £40 I would be throwing down the drain and b) it might be beneficial to ease up to a 7.5.

So here I am, 4 weeks 2.5, 10 weeks 5, 1 week 6.25. Definitely 7.5 next week!

Goodness, where are you buying? If you’re using a bonus dose that indicates 200 for 5mg. You can buy it way cheaper. Is it a subscription service?

terracottacountryfarms · 18/01/2025 16:27

Has anyone suffered from dizzy spells when standing up quickly on Mounjaro? I think I'm not eating or drinking enough and my blood sugar levels are low. My suppression is so so high that all I've managed to eat today is half a sandwich and a chocolate bar to up my sugar

UtterlyQuackers · 18/01/2025 17:34

7.5mg isn't doing it for me. Week 3 and I have found the suppression pretty low and I am hungry!

Yes I'm getting dizzy on occasion too
Also a bit nauseous these last few days on 7.5mg- moved up last week
Trying to stay well hydrated to see if that helps

Otherwise like some previous posters, rediscovering and interest in clothes and make up which is great fun! I started this to regain my health, but a new lease of life and enjoyment in clothes has been a great 'side effect'!

I was buying from Well, but I’ve now moved to Oushk for 7.5 pen, as it was £80 cheaper! I really liked Well, I got to speak to a pharmacist every month, and their advice was really useful, especially when starting. But I feel confident with what I’m doing now, and I’ve had minimal side effects, so I can’t justify £80 price difference.

Mrsmajeeka · 18/01/2025 21:07

Good to hear how well everyone is still doing. I’ve had a couple of weeks off after being so sick over Christmas and New Year. I’m going to start again on 2.5 next week. I’ve always jabbed stomach but am wary after being sick the last 3 jabs so thinking of trying thigh, has anyone had more or less side effects by doing thigh over stomach?

To add (I can’t edit my last post) - When I first looked into Mounjaro, I only wanted to look at the high street chemists, the ones I felt I knew, had a good reputation and I could trust, and Well was the cheapest for 2.5mg, as well as having a branch near me. It’s got more expensive as the dose increases, and it doesn’t offer any discounts, so the price difference is really increasing.

But the service I got was really good. I had a meeting with a pharmacist every month and an email address that I could use at any time with any questions or concerns, and a pharmacist would email me back (longest response time was about 15 mins). Their maintenance plan is good (I’d already discussed with a pharmacist). I’d definitely recommend them, and if money wasn’t so tight, I’d be staying with them. But it’s hard to justify paying £80 difference,

Lulooo · 18/01/2025 21:19

I’ve only just discovered this Mounjaro thread now and place marking. I’ve been on Mounjaro since June and have listened to 2.5 stone. I’m a slow loser and still giving in to cravings and greed so do need a bit of help.

Tohaveandtohold · 18/01/2025 21:21

It’s good to read about everyone’s experiences, weight loss and positivity in general. I’m plodding along nicely. Started my last pen tonight so I have 5 weeks left of using MJ before going cold turkey and hoping all the changes I’ve made and commitment to exercises make a difference in the long run. I’ve decided to stay on 5mg which has been working for me to date.
Another 2lbs loss this week and I’m also rediscovering my style and happily embracing all the changes. Stats are
SW: 87.1kg (192lbs)(13st 7)
CW: 68.1kg ( 150.1lbs)(10st 7)
15 week total is 19kg (41.8lbs)

There's a June starters board I think! Although welcome as honorary October-er Grin

Losingthetimber · 18/01/2025 22:21

@terracottacountryfarm , it’s likely low blood sugar , carry dextrose glucose sweets, get them in most supermarkets and also on Amazon, just pop one if you feel dizzy,

loving that everyone is feeling good about their appearance and having fun with clothes and make up, I’m the same, I’ve suddenly found my vanity, which has been sadly missing for a very long time,,,☺️

EVK · 19/01/2025 00:42

I’m so happy to read so many posts about how brilliant you’re all feeling. I too am feeling really good. No more negative self talk about how fat I am, no more feeling embarrassed when I meet old friends about my weight gain, no more avoiding people and events because I feel so down about myself. I have my confidence back which is priceless and when I look at myself I feel happy - even thrilled by what I see!! I’m able to wear a whole half
of my wardrobe that hasn’t fitted me for about 10years or more! Luckily a lot of it doesn’t seem too dated 🤣😅 like some of you I do feel almost scared to get rid of some of my big clothes but I have been gradually.
So, jab 15 this week and I’m relieved and happy to report that the plateau has shifted.
i lost 2lbs this week 😃 I was on about 4mgs and this week I’ve gone up to 5mgs.
Like many of you I couldn’t get the bonus dose out of my pen which was a shame.i guess I need a syringe and needles instead? Anyway, results!
SW:11.5 (did get up to 11.7 but had lost a couple before MJ)
CW: 9.5 (finally I’ve made it over the 2 stone down barrier)
GW: 8.10
Im now daring to aim for a goal weight I wouldn’t have dreamed of ever reaching again! I found 4mg was a great dose for me , great balance of suppression. No nausea which surprised me but unfortunately I was constipated with resulting haemorrhoids! I have also been getting headaches but sleeping a little better than before.
I do fear coming off MJ and putting weight back on but I will have to so I’m hoping this wonderful feeling will keep me on the straight and narrow. @Tohaveandtohold when you go cold turkey please stay with us - I won’t be far behind and it would be so great to share how you’re doing and still have the support.
I’m tempted to start running again and do C25k an injury stopped me which still gives me problems but I’d really like to run again. Can’t remember who said they’re doing it and I’d love to know What exercises you’re doing to support running. I go to a Pilates class which I love (just need to do more at home ) I’m going to gym once a week (would like it to be more but struggling to fit it in) dog walking/hills and fast most days (DH sometimes does it when I’m at work.) Looking forward to lighter evenings when it all gets easier to be out exercising later.

Congratulations everyone and to those of you feeling symptoms or those who haves slowed up - hang in there. 🩷

Tohaveandtohold · 19/01/2025 08:19

@EVK , I’ll definitely stay on this thread when the time comes, I’ve really enjoyed being here and want to follow along to see how we’re all still doing and may be able to answer some questions too. I’m also following some other threads on mumsnet etc that I feel will help me on the next journey. Being with like minded people has made such a big difference.

rockingbird · 19/01/2025 08:35

Morning all, we are aiming for the same goal weight @EVK and nearing the end which is absolutely amazing! I think I'm going to try and join the maintenance plan with Ouskh as I'm worried about going cold turkey 🙈

EVK · 19/01/2025 09:05

@Tohaveandtohold Tgsts great news - the support and this group have really kept me going too. @rockingbird I know! You’ve given me the confidence to go for it and actually aim for under 9!! I’ve been considering Ouskh but I’m worried about the consultation and me not being overweight enough now!!

igivein · 19/01/2025 09:11

Weigh in day for me, and after a slow three weeks this week I’ve lost 3lbs, so hopefully past a plateau.
It’s really brilliant to hear people talking about reaching goal and maintenance plans. I can’t imagine how good that feels - maybe next year for me, but that’s such an improvement on probably never.

Stats this week:

SW: 20st 2lbs
CW: 16st 8lbs
Total loss: 48lbs

igivein · 19/01/2025 09:15

I forgot to say I had a nsv yesterday. I went for a haircut and the hairdresser said ‘you’re looking really well’ which I took to be a euphemism for ‘you’ve lost weight’ 😁

You’ll be there sooner than you think and hopefully with each month that passes you’ll feel more confident, what incredible progress you’ve made 🙌🏻amazing - glad to hear your plateau is over and you’re on the move again.

@rockingbird I just had a look at Ouskh and the availability of consultation- none available!! Shame cause their current offer is really good, that’s probably why!

AnneinEdinburgh · 19/01/2025 09:43

I've just signed up for oushk as I got fed up with medexpress taking so long to get my to me that it had melted. On tge plus side 1 got 2 months free in return but it's such a waste having to throw out the last dose. I am waiting to see what happens with oushk. Will ygry need a consultation? Prob not as I'm still 17 stone

I've found a very inspirational lady in tik tok who knows the owner of Oushk so I'm going down that avenue via her once I've ordered my nex pen from medexpress. It's down on a case by case basis even if your near target which I'm hoping helps me 🙈

Bluenose1966 · 19/01/2025 11:25

Loved reading everyone’s updates.
@EVK I bought medical grade syringes that were recommended by someone on mumsnet from this company
SHD Medical
Also on the Oushk FB someone mentioned they couldn’t book maintenance call.
Hira the owner said to email her direct - . Send me some dates and times directly and I will book you in
[email protected]
This was on her main page so don’t think she would mind me giving it as it is only her work email address. She seems really approachable and flexible, she normally does appointments of a morning so may book you in at lunchtime after one of her morning sessions.

@AnneinEdinburgh Although Oushk site says consultation required when you get your pen from them, think they only do it if they have any queries.

On my unofficial daily weigh today I am actually under ten stone. In fact it was 9st 12lb something.!!!!!
Not sure it will stay that low as I have been really increasing my protein to 120g a day and calories have gone up to about 1500.
As protein is so satiating really struggling to eat that much but in my quest to increase my muscle going to persevere. Ironic as gone through most of my life wanting more food and now thinking oh gawd I have to eat more.😂
I am still in shock that size 12 clothes fit me, definitely not a reflection of how I feel I look stood in my bra and knickers. Despite weight training throughout this journey my backside is sadly like a pancake with elephant saggy skin, hence the protein increase.
Saying that main thing is I look good in clothes, and I feel I do. Off to a family 30th next month so going to treat myself to a nice outfit.
Got couple of lovely Seasalt denim skirts for less than a tenner on Vinted that will see me over next few months.

KolaKoalaKan · 19/01/2025 11:49

Morning everyone! I'm so impressed with all you 'nearly there' lot! It's very inspiring as it seems such a short time since October really. I've got a much much bigger loss to go, still nearly 5 stone to goal weight, but it's very motivational to hear from people reaching the end. Please stay around and share with us how you find maintenance.

Week 16 for me today. I've scooted over my post Christmas plateau and have lost 3lb. I'm currently titrating up to 5. So today took 4.75mg. Also took my BP this morning. It's the lowest yet and comfortably in the healthy range. I had a lovely NSV yesterday in that I went for a walk with my teen daughters and could handle walking and talking really well, even on the hills! It was amazing.

I'm still mostly in my old clothes. Not surprising with such a big loss still to go. I've only bought one new pair of jeans. I think I'll go another stone before buying a few items to help me through. I have listed a couple of items on Vinted though which I know I won't wear again - posh outfits basically suitable for weddings!

I'm definitely feeling more positive than I was post Xmas now the weight is shifting a bit again and all the crappy food is out of the house. Also looking forward to listening to some of these recommended podcasts.

Onwards and downwards!
