Morning all 👋
Have had a whoosh this week, was 10.4.5 on Monday after a sts last week at 10.7, scales now showing 10.2! Thanks for the plateau advice and articles

Big WOOSH congratulations 🥳

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 16/01/2025 11:11

Hi all

Just checking in from my holiday.

I did my last jab of 7.5 on 5th, 2 days before I went, and didnt bring any here. I will resume on 7.5 if I can when I get back, or will start from 2.5 if I have to.

Suppression has dropped off a little, but in a country known for my favourite food, very cheap and well made, 10 days in I am struggling to eat 2 meals a day and barely any snacks, and even drinking alcohol is less of a pressing need than it would normally be. I am just kind of following how I feel and am leaving some of each meal, as I am stopping when I am full, rather than my usual of just ploughing through 😁

I have gone up a size in my clothes, but I expected this and took bigger sizes with me but I dont feel I have gained a significant amount either. I will weigh when I get home and start eating better straight away and hopefully get my next jabs a few days later.

I originally started injecting on Monday morning, as the house is empty and I work Friday day and weekend nights. I thought this would be the best in case I had side effects. So far I've only had relatively mild side effects.

I've switched my injection to Sunday morning for the last few weeks as I'm finding nights at work with minimal suppression really challenging as we have loads of treats around. Changing to Sunday has made a big difference to the Sunday night.

Now I'm thinking I want to change to Friday morning or Thursday evening so that I have my strongest suppression whilst I'm at work for the weekend.

At this point would you just inject today as Eli Lilly say as long as it's been 72hours it's fine. Or would you go slow and move it to Saturday then Friday?

Great news - my weigh in is Saturday and I’d love to be having a whoosh too 🤞I found an article somewhere but can’t remember where but also Zoe is great for nutritional advice and discussions on latest scientific research.

I’d be tempted to err on the side of caution and take it slowly. But obviously, it’s your body and you know how MJ makes you feel, side effects etc.

EVK · 16/01/2025 22:39

My 49 clicks of the 5mg pen have worked out to be fine and I’ve actually felt really good this week. Great suppression neither too much/little and not ridiculously tired - just cold! I can’t remember when I started using the pen, I definitely have another dose (bonus dose) left in it but because I’ve never taken the full 5mg in one dose I’m not sure if that’s just the left over and the bonus dose or if I’ve had the bonus dose !!! I’m trying to decide whether to use it as my bonus or not !! 🤓note to self - write it down next time !!

I've moved days to alter my maximum suppression days but did it by moving jab day forward one day at a time, rather than all at once.

Can I ask what you are all doing with too small clothes? I have bagged them up but am so reluctant to get rid of them. I was a size 18, now a 14. I am still wearing some size 18s because they look fine, but wanted to move the obviously too big stuff from my rotation to make some space.

I have a block of actually moving them out of the house. What if I put on weight? I can't actually believe I am a size 14 not been this size for at least 15 years pre kids

I gave mine to charity, had a proper clear out, so wasn’t just big clothes but all the clothes I wouldn’t wear again Ie dated or done, the latter went to recycling.

also a lot of folks sell them.

are yoy staying on a maintence dose, or going it alone at target, if the former I’d get rid, if the latter, maybe hold till you see how you feel.

Bluenose1966 · 17/01/2025 09:00

Weekly official weigh in and another 2lb off, think it is because went to 5mg and suppression was really high, had slight nausea for couple of days, but manageable. Such a strange feeling to not want food and have to force myself to eat. Have been trying to increase my protein and fibre this week after Christmas chocolate.
Week 13 weigh in.
Age 58 and on HRT.
SW 12-2
CW 10-0.
GW 9-7 to 9-10 - though still not sure.

For those of you who like podcasts can’t remember if I had recommended this one between Dr Karan and an obesity Doctor re Ozempic but really GLP-1s in general.. They discuss how they can tell if some people will be fast responders from their genetics and the science behind different types of obesity. Also how high protein diet aids weight loss and reduces loss of muscle etc. Also on YT.

@loujab I am the same with my clothes, gone from a 16 to a 12, determined not too put the weight back on but still going to keep them for a year or so. God knows why…

@EVK. I have to keep a note of all my weekly doses as my menopausal brain does not remember. In fact I had to check my emails as couldn’t even remember how many pens I’d had in total…. Not sure whether to reduce my clicks as suppression was so strong for my first 5mg. Though due to a night out taking it a day late so may try 5mg again.

@WafflingDreamer i would probably just move it in one go, unless suppression is too strong for first few days of jab. I notice big difference between first 4 days compared to last 3.

HansHolbein · 17/01/2025 09:34

@Loujab Morning! At our local dump they have a clothes collection thing so I put them in there. I got rid of about 3 big bags of stuff in the end.

Part of me was worried because every time I have lost weight before.. it went straight back on again. It was quite hard to get rid of that stuff. It was nice stuff too. This time I just know MJ is different. I am planning on staying with it long term. I think I will need to anyway because of the PCOS.

HappyNewt · 17/01/2025 09:39

So, this is more of a note to self post really. But, today I have gone up to 7.5 (after 2nd month on 5mg). I had no change in weight over the last month.

This week I have started back at the beginning with my running doing C25K and also begun a trial reformer Pilates 4 week course and an at home strength program to go along side the back to running course.

I had lost 10% with my first 2 pens, and clothes that I barely squeezed into and looked awful in are now comfortable which is really great.

I believe that staying on the 5mg along with Christmas, being away and possible plateau effect have led to my weight and measurements being stuck. I know that I am doing everything correctly now so I am confident that I will see changes again.....but I also have my fingers crossed!

I have logged all of my measurements as a start of 2025 marker to compare against going forward!!

Thanks again everyone for your posts!

Pegsmum · 17/01/2025 12:21

@NearlyAutumnNow Did you go to 7.5 from 5, or did you titrate up? I’ve stayed on 5 for two months and have a 7.5 waiting but have wondered whether to slowly increase rather than jump up. I had the same symptoms when I went from 2.5 to 5, so I came back down and did 3.75 for a few weeks and was fine when I did increase again to 5. I would much rather stick to the prescribed dose but if the diarrhoea continues it may be worth considering a slightly lower dose for a week or two? I hope it clears up for you soon.

@Pegsmum i titrated up, so after 5 I did about 3 weeks of 6.25 and then 7.5. Now I have my bonus dose left of my 7.5 pen (I was using the 7.5 pen to do 6.25) which I’m due to take tonight but not sure whether I should perhaps drop back down for a week!

Pegsmum · 17/01/2025 15:46

@NearlyAutumnNow It’s hard to know what to do for the best isn’t it?! I suppose if you come back down and the symptoms stop you know it’s the 7.5…but then if you power through it hopefully will eventually stop as you become more accustomed to it. Good luck!

crumbsonmyface · 17/01/2025 17:00

Hi ladies, so proud to see the big losses and that some of you are close to your goal weight - so strange to think we started this journey in October!

Today I stepped on the scales and am 20lb down. I've still got another stone to goal, but considering I'm still not on a full dose because of side effects, and it's been slow - feeling really proud of that. (Can you believe I'm still only on 2mg) 🙈

Next month I've been invited for a weekend away, and there's going to be a hot tub. This is the first time something like that hasn't sent me into a spiral, because usually I'd be freaking out about getting my body out!! 😂

NearlyNewHip · 18/01/2025 05:41

Week 14 weigh in and I've lost 2 lbs this week (25 lbs in total). Took my 5th 7.5mg jab last night. Have to say 7.5mg hasn't done much for me at all, smaller portions still but more hunger and willpower needed to fight the urge to snack. Can't wait for my first 10mg jab on Friday. Still haven't found "my" dose (haven't even considered having the same pen twice yet), fingers crossed 10 is it.

NearlyNewHip · 18/01/2025 05:43

11 lbs to go until my BMI is under 30 and I'm 'only' overweight!

WafflingDreamer · 18/01/2025 06:37

Jab 16 done
Changed injection day to Thursday and its been fine but I decided to stick with 6.25mg
3x2.5mg
5x3.75mg
6x5mg
2x6.25mg

Weigh in number 15
SW 21st 9lb
CW 19st 2lb
GW 11st 13lb
-3lbs this week
Losses so far; 4, 1, 5, 1, 3, 4, 2, 2, 2, 4, 1, +3, 5, 1, 3

Total loss 35lbs / 2st 7lb
Really happy with that loss as I have only really done half a week with changing my injection day, tantalisingly close to the next stone bracket now. Hopefully changing my injection day really helps me to get through my weekend nights without all the snacks!

Mini goal 17st 9lb by 18/3 - total loss 4st

Losingthetimber · 18/01/2025 06:40

Morning all. 14th weigh in for me, so 13 weeks done. Just under 3 lbs off this week, so now 12.3.5. Will do my 3rd 10mg shortly.

on 15th Oct, when I started this, I was just under 15 stone. So 37 lbs lost, And that was after desperately losing half a stone on my own, in the two weeks or so proceeding.

im now a bmi of 26,8, whoop, so no longer at bmi 27, and 12 and a half pounds to hit a healthy weight bracket. And 1 stone and 10.5 lbs from goal.

next mini goal is to see 11 something on the scales.

my bp is coming down a lot, my meds have been reduced twice already, now the lowest dose of the two tablets, v the highest of both when I started, and if this continues should reduce again next month. So it was weight that was causing it,

im also a size 12 again, which is nice. ☺️

rockingbird · 18/01/2025 07:06

Morning all, week 12 complete! Still on 5mg.

SW: 11.13
CW: 9.5 (2lbs down) total loss 2st 8lbs
GW: 8.10-9st

So onto week 13 and sticking with 5mg. The weight loss has definitely started to slow down but I’m nearing my goal weight so that’s to be expected. I’m hoping not to go up in dosage but will see how suppression is this week before I order again. I’m going to spend the weekend having a clothes sort out as most items I’m wearing now are far too big for me 🙈

Losingthetimber · 18/01/2025 08:33

Anyone else had a weird epiphany moment, this morning I’ve come over all, god this is working, as in it actually works, after years of struggling. I’m likely going to hit goal and then be able to maintain (I will stay on)

I knew it was working clearly and I was losing weight, but even though I’ve 24 lbs still to go, I’ve come over all what a beneficial life changing medication. That it is actually happening. I’m no longer obese, in fact closer to a healthy weight than obesity, the health benefits are obvious, even if it’s just my blood pressure coming down, and I feel good.

I no longer get dressed and try to hide the fat. I’m ok with my appearance. For the first time in a long time. And I actively look forward to going to the gym,

and I still can’t get used to my face change, and neither can everyone else it seems, as they all comment, even my doctor. The bloated fat puffy look has gone. I’ve cheekbones again. A defined jaw line and no double chins. My skin and eyes are clear and bright.

i really hope these meds come down in price, or with new ones coming onto the market, the nhs speeds up roll out, so more people can access them.

AnneinEdinburgh · 18/01/2025 11:31

@Losingthetimber I totally agree, it is going to work. I have lost 2 stone in 12 weeks, about 6 stone left to go, but as it has worked so far why shouldn't it carry on. I feel so much better. Not just physically but emotionally. I have started experimenting with clothes and makeup again. It is so restful not hearing the continual mental prompts to snack for whatever emotional state I am in - eat to celebrate, eat if I'm bored or sad. Maybe one day I might even meet a nice new man - I have been single and celibate now for 11 years (born again virgin I reckon!).

It makes me cross that even with PCOS every medical professional I have ever come across reckons that weight could be lost just with enough willpower and effort. If one tiny little jab can fix that then surely it is much more of a medical issue than a willpower one.

Carry on jabbing all you wonderful women

xx

Sunblocker · 18/01/2025 11:42

Have been hovering around 15st 2 and 15 st 4 for a couple of weeks. Had terrible constipation which has settled now. Was feeling despondent as I’ve been below calories every day and I’ve had maybe a handful of crisps, couple of chocolates, one mince pie over Xmas but no big loss. I’ve stoped drinking alcohol in the week but even at the weekend I really haven’t fancied anything, which is a revelation to me as I bloody love wine. Totally gone off white wine and I can only tolerate a couple of glasses of red now. Wine was my biggest downfall in the past.
Weighed a minute ago and I am 14stone 13lb- only just in the 14s but the last time I was here was in 2009!
I have had a couple of plateaus and even put on a pound or 2; if this was WW or SW I’d have given up but I’ve kept on tracking and it’s worked.
Very proud of myself this morning; I still have lots to go but 36lb off my body feels amazing!
SW 17st 7llb
CW 14st 13lb
GW who knows- maybe 11st 7lb??

hopeishere · 18/01/2025 11:47

I'm 15 weeks in and have lost 2 stone exactly. I've been totally off my game since before Christmas. I skipped two weeks and the titrated back up for a few weeks. Back up to 5mg this week!
