Crazy we have come this far

Heading to 5mths - that's almost half a year

We have all done so well.

Be proud of ourselves

Yes we have Christmas Day to come but remember that eating a meal and some yummy stuff isn't going to make us all gain the weight back

We have to have some treats or else what is the point in life

Saying we are never going to eat ...... again isn't sustainable

But having one /small portion of something we want is a good thing

We have learnt restraint !!!

To 2025 one and all

@weaseleyes I think you've explained how I feel about bmi better than me 😂 I definitely wasn't saying people should aim to be nearer the bottom more that (for most) anywhere on that scale is 'heathly' it's how you like to look. And there's no positive to being higher or lower in the bmi scale health wise just how you feel in yourself!

weaseleyes · 15/01/2025 15:15

I agree @owlyboo . I think for some people it might be better to be higher or lower, but BMI isn't designed to be that detailed. Personally, I just don't feel I look markedly different within a range of a few pounds or so, and I don't tend to wear tiny tight-fitting clothes. I just want to be healthy with a margin of error!

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/01/2025 15:36

Thing is is aim for the top end so 11.5 in My case

if I put on 3/4lbs I’m then overweight

I went up to 10 two weeks ago and the next day I felt awful. I was exhausted and felt as if my insides were full of acid. I also had an upset tummy and was sick a few times. I felt so unwell I thought I more than likely had a virus so at the start of week 2 I did another dose of 10 and I’ve quite honestly been in the house for a week I’ve felt so unwell. I could sleep around the clock if I let myself and it’s obvious now that it’s the 10 causing the problem. Anyhoo I’m supposed to have another dose tomorrow and I’ve decided I’ll take 5 injections of 8 over the 4 weeks and see how I go on that. It will mean injecting every 6 days and I’m wondering if anyone else does it. I have to say I was blindsided by this reaction as up till now I’ve sailed through using Mounjaro.

FlappingMadly · 15/01/2025 16:05

Oh that's bad luck @Weepixie. Hope you're feeling better now. As you think it was the MJ I'd perhaps rethink 8 every 6 days, with half life and just do 8 weekly.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/01/2025 16:05

how weird @Weepixie. Sorry to hear 10 too much

are you doing every 6 days so in the 30 days of usage

owlyboo · 15/01/2025 16:09

Yes definitely @Blondeshavemorefun that's why I'd like to eventually get to 10 and a half, even if it takes ages!

Oh no @Weepixie hope it evens out soon and you feel better!!

@FlappingMadly I've got a crepey arse and arms too, I've been trying to moisturise more and see if my arms turn into super supple 😂 xx

And they will!

I've just rubbed l'I'occitaine shea keratine on - it'll do nothing but feels nice. I was just thinking aswell that I was starting to get more definition, sigh.

NippyCrab · 15/01/2025 16:33

I bet you do have, you're far too hard on yourself lady! Xx

Thank you. I did wonder if weekly instead of every 6 days would be better.

Yes. 1 jab every six days but Flapping has suggested sticking to weekly and doing 8 once per week. It did cross my mind but I wasn’t sure of how you did the altered doses.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/01/2025 17:09

I think once a week is better and what they advise

I just came back in to say a very big thank you for the advice re the half life. I hadn’t given it a second thought and all the more so because so many people seem to alter their dose and the scheduling. 💐

AuntieDote · 16/01/2025 11:50

Morning all,

Hope everyone is having a good day. It’s another cold and frosty one today which I don’t mind as the sky is blue and much more pleasant than the warmer but wet and grey we’ve had the last couple of days.

Thanks @Blondeshavemorefun - I haven’t really decided about going up. I started getting ill with the constant D&V once I went up to 5, stopped a bit for first couple of weeks of 7.5 then came back strong. I had to promise DH I wouldn’t put myself through that again! It’s been nice the last month not feeling constantly ill, even when I actually did have a virus after Christmas I don’t think I felt as rotten as I did with the side effects!

What I might do is shorten time between 2.5 doses if I feel like it’s doing nothing for me - as it is it’s not doing much but even that little bit seems to be making the difference.

I weighed again today and am 3lbs less than what the scales were showing on Sunday which is when I thought I’d gained 8lbs back. It’s more like 5 now, which feels a bit more manageable somehow - I think there was a lot of fluid and some hormonal bloating going on on Sunday.

weaseleyes · 16/01/2025 12:42

You could try creeping up a few clicks every week from 2.5 if it doesn't seem to be working @AuntieDote . I didn't have side effects as bad as yours, but I did find the nausea, tiredness and light-headedness hard to cope with, so after one or two early attempts to go higher, I just went up a few clicks. This is now my second week at 5mg, it took that long! I don't think I'm a fantastic responder, to be honest, I think it's more I have a low tolerance for discomfort 😀I don't believe in increasing medication for the sake of it, though.
