Crazy we have come this far

Heading to 5mths - that's almost half a year

We have all done so well.

Be proud of ourselves

Yes we have Christmas Day to come but remember that eating a meal and some yummy stuff isn't going to make us all gain the weight back

We have to have some treats or else what is the point in life

Saying we are never going to eat ...... again isn't sustainable

But having one /small portion of something we want is a good thing

We have learnt restraint !!!

To 2025 one and all

Many thanks for the welcome back everyone 😊

It’s great to be able to say a huge well done to everyone. Oh and I haven’t half laughed at some of the typos.

oh and I’m weepixie because I was in the pixies at Brownies many many moons ago.

owlyboo · 12/01/2025 19:54

@Weepixie yes that makes sense! I've never wholly understood why men's and women's are different as yes they have bigger frames but we have boobs and hips! So I would think it would even out!! I'm so glad you've found something that works for you. Sounds like you've had a tough old time of it! Reducing BP meds is a great NSV!!

Slimhopes · 12/01/2025 20:17

Thanks for the welcomes:) I’ve almost joined the thread a few times but ended up ‘lurking’ longer than I meant to! I’m not very good at replying to specific people but great progress from everyone and I really appreciate the acknowledgement of my progress as I’m also keeping the details of my weight loss private (just DH and of course GP). people know I’ve been reducing processed food/clean eating but I’m not going to be admitting to mounjaro as I’ve heard a lot of negative judgment about it.
I share the health benefits with previous poster as my last blood check showed I was no longer pre diabetic and my blood pressure has gone back to normal so I’m not taking meds for this now. My concern is for the long term and maintaining the weight loss as I’ve lost weight in the past but put it back on with extra. In some ways I feel I’ve developed a better pattern for daily food but of course I’m not battling hunger or food noise. However as I’m very short my TDEE is 960 calories 😬 so at least I can think that when I hopefully get to target another 500 calories a day will feel better, it’s very limiting just now.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/01/2025 20:32

Yes under 1000 is hard. I’m 1200 and that’s bad enough

I think most of us on here haven’t told people

and just say eating better - less calories - etx - cutting down on food and more exercise

Do you think people assume we’re on MJ? My DH thinks our wider family will all assume that I’m on it but I don’t know if they necessarily will. I won’t be admitting to it as I don’t want any discussions about the pros and cons ! Am very happy with my choice!

owlyboo · 12/01/2025 21:17

@Slimhopes I don't think so... well close family definitely not as I doubt they even know what MJ is! 😂

No one has mentioned it to me so I don't think so.

I do have a few friends who know (three of them are on it as well!)

Slimhopes · 12/01/2025 21:24

@owlyboo 3 friends on it too😅! That’s great, good to chat about it. There’s been lots of negative chat about WLI at my work so I’m trying to hide in plain shrinking sight there😁 don’t really know why they’re so negative and I just avoid the subject.

owlyboo · 12/01/2025 21:30

@Slimhopes I think it's strange people's attitudes to WLI. Obesity is a serious problem and if there's a drug that can help solve that and the pressures on the nhs it should be celebrated.

People seem to have this attitude that people can just 'move more and eat less' which of course is true but there's so many barriers to weight loss. Mental health, time, learnt behaviours to name a few!

Slimhopes · 12/01/2025 21:50

Yes I struggle to understand the negativity and they are of course all slim and healthy so no apparent experience of the real struggles of losing weight. I can’t exercise due to disability either so moving more not an option and it is difficult trying to cut calories. Really hope this is the final diet for me and I can keep my focus on maintaining.

owlyboo · 12/01/2025 21:55

@Slimhopes I think we've got it this time. We will have spent months learning new habits during our weight loss and then months in maintenance before going it alone. I will not put on weight. I've spent to much money, time and energy getting to here!

Slimhopes · 12/01/2025 22:02

I like your positivity @owlyboo ! I’m glad I joined the thread, will be good for the support through the next stages!

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/01/2025 22:26

I don’t think so @Slimhopes as my loss has been since April or so So not dramatic imo

its not like I’ve lost 4st in 3mths

Motnight · 13/01/2025 06:12

And welcome back @Weepixie!

NippyCrab · 13/01/2025 07:51

Good morning all and hello @BettyandtheVets @Slimhopes @Weepixie I was too knackered last night to be of any use posting 😂

@Slimhopes I'm the same with disabilities that prevent me doing more in the way of activity, I also need to pace or crash and burn 🔥 and it gets frustrating
This journey will be our last weight loss one I know it will be. We've come too far and already changed our eating habits and lifestyles over months, this thread will hopefully still be here when we are pottering about fit and sprightly in our senior years 💪🙏

The weather is rubbish this week for walking anywhere remote for me, the winds are 50+ right now! It's to die down but be heavy rain until around noon. DH was home earlier this rotation after 5 days and goes away today for 2 weeks 😢 so I've got to get the big pants on (emotionally not literally) and get my days busy with the brats.

Question, when you are deciding your goal weight, have you chosen the upper weight of what's suggested it should be or maybe a weight you've been before? I can't remember what I was years ago I've yoyo dieted for so long. I've chosen the upper weight but looking at my body i do have a lot of fat to go in places.

NippyCrab · 13/01/2025 07:54

Ps, only one friend knows I'm on it and 2 other women who aren't friends who are also on it. DH knows and I chat to him. I had negativity from one person I mentioned it too, before I started, so I decided to keep it to myself. So much ignorance surrounds these WLi's

MargoLivebetter · 13/01/2025 09:33

I've tried to read all the posts between logging off on Friday and this morning. I definitely won't cover everything!

So nice to see @BettyandtheVets , @Slimhopes and @Weepixie . This group has been such a huge source of support to me.

Well done @owlyboo that is such an encouraging loss after STS for a while (I hope @Blondeshavemorefun that helps as I know you are feeling down about STS).

I have reached my goal weight. Depending on how I stood on the scale this morning, I was either one pound below or one pound above! That'll do for me. I'm back into all my size 12 clothes. I'm being very brave and adding my before and after photo. It is a work one for before, as other than the horrific one I had to send off to get approved for MJ, I was very photo shy. You'll see I'm not even standing fully facing the camera to minimise the bulk. I was pushing my size 16s to their absolute limit and should really have been in 18s. I'm definitely not posting the MJ approval one!!!!! It will haunt me for a long time.

I'm doing my own "maintenance" by going down to 1.25 weekly while I use up what I've got left. I definitely noticed more food noise last week, but it was manageable. I'm going to continue tracking calories, as I know how easily I underestimate what I'm eating. I'm going to fiddle around with my calorie intake to see what I can eat to stay the same. I have already upped it a little bit to 1300 calories and I still lost 1lb last week, so I'm going to try for 1500 average daily intake this week and see how that goes.

WorriedRelative · 13/01/2025 09:59

Urgh I am in a bit of a sts rut.

Keep bouncing around between 87kg and 88kg. I think I have dropped then the next day it is back.

Constipation isn't helping, I'm struggling to get enough water in this extra cold weather and the snow and ice has stopped me from doing as much exercise as usual.

I am beginning to think it might have been a mistake to order another 7.5mg pen.

Jab day today so will jab 7.5mg as I don't think I have done 4 weeks at a full 7.5mg yet because I used a pen to edge up slowly due to my holiday. Then I might jab however much I extract for the bonus and see how I get on with that.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2025 10:09

@NippyCrabpull on your smaller big girl pants 😘

ive chosen upper bmi

24.9 is 11.5

ideally if I can get to 11.4 that’s 6st loss which still seems crazy

ideally prefer 11 to give me a few lbs leeway

i did once get to 10.10 which is 23.5 but I couldn’t hold it tnere and face looked gaunt

Omg @MargoLivebetter🌟🌟🌟🌟

you look fantastic !!

what was your sw and gw

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2025 10:13

@WorriedRelative weight does go up and down. Try weighing just once a week

you can always count clicks or syringe 5 out which would be .4 as 2/3 of 7.5

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2025 10:14

I woke really thirsty this am. Drank lots of squash. I like water but when cold don’t like water. Does that make sense 😂

MargoLivebetter · 13/01/2025 10:23

Thank you @Blondeshavemorefun . BMI was 29.7 at 13stone 2lb and I'm now 10 stone with a BMI of 22.6. Works out at a loss of approx 1.8lb a week over 23 weeks. It is the most sustained and sensible loss I have ever had in my life and I've dieted for over 40 years. I had the usual whoosh at the beginning, another small whoosh when I went on holiday in late Sept and the last small whoosh when I was really ill over Christmas, but most of the time, it has been a fairly steady 1lb a week. I'd never, ever have sustained that without MJ.

The most critical bit now is maintaining it. 😬

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2025 10:29

3s 2lb loss. Very impressive. Well done

intrigued what pic you sent to suppliers 😂
