Crazy we have come this far

Heading to 5mths - that's almost half a year

We have all done so well.

Be proud of ourselves

Yes we have Christmas Day to come but remember that eating a meal and some yummy stuff isn't going to make us all gain the weight back

We have to have some treats or else what is the point in life

Saying we are never going to eat ...... again isn't sustainable

But having one /small portion of something we want is a good thing

We have learnt restraint !!!

To 2025 one and all

Just seen on planner tonight 8pm bbc panorama

weight loss jabs and nhs

@Blondeshavemorefun Vest top and stretchy shorts full frontal. I've kept it in the private folder on my phone to remind me of what not to get back to.

Ooooooh, will definitely be watching Panorama tonight, thank you for that.

WorriedRelative · 13/01/2025 11:00

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2025 10:13

@WorriedRelative weight does go up and down. Try weighing just once a week

you can always count clicks or syringe 5 out which would be .4 as 2/3 of 7.5

Oh I know it goes up and down, that's why I weigh daily, but normally there's more of an overall downward trend visible.

I think I have dose 4 today, then the bonus. I will stick with 7.5 this time so I'm not going up too fast but if things haven't improved next week I'll syringe out the bonus and see what I get as a step up dose. If I move up I can save the 7.5mg pen for the future.

WorriedRelative · 13/01/2025 11:10

Well done @MMargoLivebetter you look fabulous, looking forward to hear how you find titrating down.

FlappingMadly · 13/01/2025 11:20

@MargoLivebetter wow, you look great! Congrats!

Thanks for mentioning @Blondeshavemorefun . I'll look out for it tonight.

@Slimhopes a friend, sil.and my dh know. For the rest I said IF which I do do and my loss has been slow so it's believable, though it's quite a shock to people who haven't seen me for a while.

Glittermoonlight · 13/01/2025 12:18

Wow @MargoLivebetter you look fabulous!! I’m also interested how it goes titrating down for you.
I’ve lost another 2lbs in the last week, so total lost since August is 49lbs. I’m now 10st 4.6lbs. Another 4lbs to go before a healthy bmi, so getting closer. Still need to build up muscle though & get in an exercise routine. Wish I was a sporty person, but I never have been, even at school I hated sport! I do walk everyday & have started using weights though.
Just watched the panorama programme on iPlayer, enjoyed it. Didn’t learn anything new because we’re all really knowledgeable already having been on it for 5-6 months. But good to see a balanced & not overdramatic programme on weight loss jabs for once. Let’s hope over the next couple of years the prices of these drugs become lower so more people can get them, whether that is on the nhs or privately. I really do believe these are the drugs of the future & one day should be available for everyone.

owlyboo · 13/01/2025 13:16

Looking fab @MargoLivebetter well done!!

@NippyCrab I've got a first goal of reaching healthy bmi (11 stones) and that's only 4lbs away and i would definitely like to lose another 7lbs after that to take me comfortably into healthy BMI. Before I put on weight I was always around 11 stone but this time would like to go a little lower to give me that comfort zone! But I won't pressure myself. I'll continue to eat sensibly and exercise and hopefully that 7lbs will eventually come off slowly? 🤞 anyway! 2 weeks is a long time, hope it goes quickly!

@Glittermoonlight we have the same to go to healthy BMI! (Although I must be taller than you!) hope the 4lbs come off quickly for you (and me!)

morbidcuriosity · 13/01/2025 13:17

Weigh day and jab day for me today... and a catch up on this quick thread..
So last week was my 2nd STS at 14.6 and this week is a happy 3lb loss
So 14.3 right now which I'm happy about. Still on 7.5 and I reckon I will be for another pen after, only 2 shots out this 2nd 7.5 but its working..

I just want to add @MargoLivebetter.. .. your looking fab!!!

20bloodypounds · 13/01/2025 13:27

@MargoLivebetter fantastic progress. You understandably don't show much of your face but you can see how much more slender your chin looks. Although in your 'before' picture you obviously know how to dress well and I imagine that your colleagues may have been surprised to know your starting weight. I'm sure your 'after' photo is good motivation for maintaining well.

@Slimhopes I'm also small with a slender frame. Over these months I have used a smaller plate for my food and reduced portion size. I make an omelette with 2 eggs, and keep half for the following day, I have half a baked potato not a whole one etc. I really hope that lesson stays with me and helps me when I get to maintenance. I have also moved all the 'snacks' to a different, less accessible cupboard. This is now dh's domain. I buy things for him, stuff them in there, and then don't open it again until the next time I restock. I'm sure it will take some conscious willpower to keep away from it if I stop MJ completely, hopefully though the habit is broken. And in general I buy dh snacks that I don't particularly enjoy - crisps with sour cream and chive flavour, or chocolate with nuts in it!

@NippyCrab BMI is interesting, isn't it. I think it works quite well for me with a slender bone structure and short, and an apple shape. But my friend is tall with broad shoulders and hips and it doesn't work for her. My goal weight is half a stone under the top of healthy BMI. In my 60s that feels about right. That goal give me a bit of wiggle room (although I plan not to use it too often) and puts me smack in the middle of the Smart BMI graph. I have firmly fixed in my mind a weight which was the first time I'd ever been weighed in kgs, it was the midwife appointment when I was 8 weeks pregnant, 40 years ago! I did manageto get to that weight about 6 years ago but only stayed there for about 10 minutes, and I don't think I looked at all healthy (in fact people told me to stop losing weight). It was a full stone less than my target. And of course I still had a flabby belly.

Glittermoonlight · 13/01/2025 13:32

@morbidcuriosity well done on your 3lb loss this week, should be a massive boost after STS for 2 weeks.
@owlyboo - yes, I’m 5ft 3, so not very tall!! It’s a great feeling to be nearer a healthy BMI. My goal is also around 7lbs under that, so give me a bit of wiggle room. So want to lose around 11 more pounds, then titrate down the doses, perhaps by summer coming off it & seeing how I do. But also I need to start focusing on toning up my saggy body!!😂

owlyboo · 13/01/2025 13:41

Well done @morbidcuriosity ! I know that feeling when you finally lose after 2 weeks STS! Well done!

@Glittermoonlight yes same! I definitely need to start weight training more often!

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2025 13:58

@Glittermoonlight well done on 2lbs loss

yah @morbidcuriosity for the whoosh

morbidcuriosity · 13/01/2025 14:28

Ah sorry, ment 2nd STS on my journey. I've been 1 or 2 pounds each week with the occasional 3 or 4.. but this was 2nd time I had no loss at all..
Still extremely happy with it. Now I'm under my heated throw after a very long shift at work starting at silly o'clock this morning..

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2025 14:33

What do you do @morbidcuriosity. Enjoy the sofa and heated throw

I have to battle outside in 30m to get dd. It’s -2 out there

MargoLivebetter · 13/01/2025 15:02

Thank you all for the kind words. I am feeling very motivated at the moment to keep it all off.

@NippyCrab well done for your BMI achievement. More lbs gone @Glittermoonlight always good. You've lost loads now too.

I'm following with interest how people are getting on moving over to Oushk. Still not sure if I missed a trick there.

Dear God. Tomorrow the chat and AIBU boards are going to be rife with posts giving jab users a kicking. Not that I pay any attention to them - at 66 I’ve been on this earth long enough to be able to ignore arseholes. But not everyone is so robust and I feel for those who will be hurt by what will be said.

morbidcuriosity · 13/01/2025 15:27

@Blondeshavemorefun enjoy the -2° I'm down south and its about 5, so probably warm to you. Haha.

@MargoLivebetter I plan on moving to oushk mainly for the choosing a delivery day, that's going to work out for me better and the fact they have different maintenance goals helps, think my bmi is about 27 now so want to find somewhere I can stick with and they seem OK price wise, but as I say the delivery is what has swung it for me.

It’s already on iPlayer. Not overdramatic at all, follows 4 people, 3 on Wegovy & 1 on Mounjaro under the NHS. They all do well. Basically everyone agrees that they’re beneficial drugs, & it all comes down to money/ economics why it’s not available to more people, at the moment anyway, on the NHS. For those who don’t know anything about these drugs I think quite informative. For those of us already using them probably won’t learn anything new, but I still enjoyed watching it.

Not overdramatic at all

Glittermoonlight, honestly I wasn’t concerned about the documentary being overdramatic. I didn’t even think about that possible aspect of it. My thoughts were all about the people who may use the documentary as a means to be vile about people who use the jabs. We see them all time.

@MargoLivebetter so happy for you! Well done and you ate looking great 👍

Azuresky68 · 13/01/2025 15:53

@Slimhopes Another shortie like me! A lot of people say I should eat more than 1000 calories..they just don't get it!
4 pounds off my own goal weight now (BMI 25.4) I am going on a very special holiday in 7 weeks for 3 weeks so I think I might go under my personal goal to give me some leeway and then I can enjoy my holiday without worrying about my weight. I average 1 pound a week loss on a weekly average of 900 calories per day. The holiday will give me a final push 🇦🇷 🕺🛩 🍷❄️🌞

@MargoLivebetter You look amazing!! Well done. Good luck with maintenence. Although I'm stones away from it I'm really concerned about how I'll manage it so I'm following everyone's progress with interest!
